Overview:
Christopher and Reagan happened to have briefly saw each other they were quite younger. However, she does not remember this and thought that the first time she met her older brother's friend was during Koen's wedding. Christopher and Reagan, much like her own parents, did not get off on the right foot with their first interaction.

That was one possibility, alright. If any fainting had taken place, hopefully something soft would've been present to break his fall. Thankfully, they need not worry about any of that right now seeing as how he had no real clue as to her current feelings about him. However he was currently once again in a good mood and rather enjoying their time together. "There's no doubt in my mind about that. It's not for me though." He would gladly take all of his nieces and nephews, spoil them rotten for the day and then give them right back to their parents. That he could handle. "Why's that? Maybe I enjoy being alone." He did at times but other times, well, he did get lonely.

"Yes, yes, you do," Christopher remarked, joining in on her laughter. There was no sense in denying something that she already knew but his words were spoken with clear amusement that made it quite obvious he was teasing. Her company had grown on him a little more each time they had been in one another's presence. He never knew what to expect and that was just one of the reasons why he enjoyed it. "I suppose I could wander around with you until I annoy you enough that you decide to go home." This was said with a cheeky smirk now, as he knew that if he really wanted to he could easily get on her nerves.

Yet, he hadn't done such a thing in quite some time now.

That was true: their current time together was rather enjoyable. “I understand that. You get to return them to their parents when they get out of hand,’’ Reagan remarked, speaking from her own experience with her twin nieces. When the girls cried too much, she just handed them back over to her brother and sister-in-law. She stared at him for the briefest of moments in disbelief. Clearly Christopher did not know what a catch he would be but Rea didn’t know how to say this; she thought that she might make things weird between them if she did. So, the young woman shrugged and said as casually as she could, “You’re not that bad looking. Someone’s bound to be interested in you and you’ll return the favour.” Then her head was tilting questioningly at him. “Do you enjoy being alone?”

Rea grinned broadly. “It’s nice that you’re able to put up with me. Only the strong survive!” See, Christopher? You definitely were not just physically strong! The next comment earned him the cheekiest eye roll. “Shall we put that to the test then?” Reagan asked sweetly. “See how long it takes you to annoy me?”

Christopher would be right about that: he hadn’t annoyed her in a very long time now.

"Mm, you mean after I've spoiled them rotten?" Christopher laughed, grinning widely. This generally meant buying a toy of some sort for the little ones and lots of snacks. "No? I'll have to make sure that I keep that in mind when I'm dateless on a Friday night." His voice held all the tone of one that was very much joking. He didn't at all care about dating seriously right now. Well, he wasn't looking. If that person came along then he wouldn't complain. "Most of the time I do. I can do whatever I want, whenever I want. No questions asked.

Aaww, lookit that cute grin of hers. "You're really not all that bad." She didn't seem to annoy him nearly as much as he annoyed her. With the amount of nieces and nephews he had, he was used to all types of attitudes and behaviors. This though, she wanted to see how quickly he could annoy her? Chris laughed. "Are you sure you want to do that? It might cut the rest of this walk very short." Was that a risk she was actually willing to take?

Reagan laughed. “Yes, after you’ve done that. This is what I plan on doing with my nieces everytime!” Could Christopher tell that she was very excited to be an aunt? She was also very excited to be an aunt all over again through Jude and Keigh, and also if Ko and Stas wanted to have more. It had literally been on the tip of the young woman’s tongue to casually suggest that he drop her message somehow if he wanted friendly company on a Friday evening; Rea would not hesitate to drag Christopher to a play or to a concert or even to grab hotdogs and pizza. However, when he told her he liked being alone most of the time, the words died in her mouth. She simply nodded to hide her disappointment. “I get that. You get to be the boss of you.”

Rea curtsied as best as she could. “Thank you! I try.” She supposed she got ‘too bad’ when someone annoyed the heck out of her. Then she was laughing again. “Okay, okay. Let’s hold off on testing that then!” Since, secretly, Reagan did not want their moment to finish just yet. “Shall we?” There was a gesture towards the streets of Diagon Alley. Where would their stroll take them next?

Oh, you're going to enjoy it. The spoiling that is. It's the best part of being who we are." It was all part of being an uncle. No one could tell him that it wasn't expected when the kids were dropped off with him. He was always kept busy too, what with all the various ages of his nieces and nephews. If Chris took notice to any disappointment in Rea's words right than, he didn't show it. "Exactly, what I mean. If I want to go out for pizza for midnight or see a really pathetic movie, I can because no one can stop me." Now this wasn't to say that he didn't get lonely at times, he just wasn't going to make a big fuss about it.

Christopher gave a small chuckle. "Good idea. I didn't think you wanted this excursion to end before it even began." There was a small simple now of his head. "Let's. Do you want to lead?"

“I think I will enjoy it. I just might wind up being the ‘Cool Aunt’.” Sorry, Keigh! Rea had a feeling her sister would be the sweet/comforting kind. That was fine because all the Anders’ nieces and nephews would need both their aunts. As the conversation continued on, it became so pronounced to Rea that Christopher was too thick skulled to take the hints, and she certainly would not be throwing herself at him. It was going to be his loss that he didn’t pick up on her interest. “I’m happy you enjoy your freedom that much,’’ Reagan remarked, masking her annoyance and disappointment with a sweet smile.

Rea had been quite tempted a few seconds ago to link her arm through Christopher’s once more but now decided against it. There was no reason for her to continue getting her hopes up that he’d see through her words and hint, was there? “How do I know you were secretly hoping I didn’t end it before it began?” she questioned, an eyebrow raised as she began making her way down the street. Yes, the young lady was taking the lead.

"Might? Is that not your goal?" He would've guessed that she wanted to be the 'cool aunt' in the family. From what he had learned with families that had several aunts and uncles, each was different and it always turned out well enough for everyone involved. Hey, this wasn't all his fault! Need he remind her that they were quite different from one another and that they hadn't always gotten off on the right foot? It couldn't be completely his fault that he wasn't getting her subtle hints as of yet. "Don't you enjoy your freedom?" Or whatever freedom she managed to get now that she was getting older.

Did she not ever hear of the saying 'Actions speak louder than words'? He could've seen it as a simple friendly gesture or perhaps in time maybe he would've come to see it as more. Only time would really be able to know for sure. "If that were the case, why am I still here following you?" Really now, Rea, if he had wanted to go home.. he would have.

Reagan shrugged. “I hadn’t given it any thought at all. For all I know, Keigh will be the cool aunt. She certainly has the potential to be. I know Jude will be the coolest uncle ever though.” Sorry, Ko! You’re still cool! “Keigh and I both can share the title, I wouldn’t mind.” After all, when it came to her siblings, Rea never thought twice about sharing anything with them. As for Christopher… oh yes, it was all his fault and Reagan would always be thrilled to lay the blame on him. “I suppose,’’ came her grudging response. Nothing was said about how she thought it would be nice to have that one special person to share certain moments with. Reagan hadn’t realised it but watching Koen, Jude and Keighley in their respective relationship{s}, she understood all too well what she was missing out.

Meanwhile, Mr. Oblivious over here just failing at putting all her hints together. It was enough to drive anyone insane!

“So that you don’t seem rude,’’ she piped up promptly. “Because if you walk away and leave me here, you know I’ll rat you out to Koen. And that I’ll be terribly annoyed and would never want to see you again.” Did those answer your questions, Christopher?

"No? Well, I guess it makes sense that you haven't seeing as to how your nieces are still really young yet." Not everyone thought about these things, right? He certainly hadn't given it much thought until his sister had married and brought a bunch of kiddos into his family's life. "There you go! Seems like you've got it figured out then. Sharing the spotlight if need be." Chris didn't think she would have to but what really did he know? There was a bit of a raised eyebrow now, as he had thought he heard what sounded like displeasure in her tone? He could be wrong on that maybe she didn't like her alone time the way that he did.. or should he say, how he had gotten used to it?

Hey, it wasn't his fault she went from disliking him to liking him!

Christopher stared at her. The fact that she had come up with an answer so quickly didn't surprise him at all. "I could've had things to do though, you didn't know what my plans for the day were." Just stating a fact. There had been a time earlier that he easily could've went his own way and yet he had chosen to continue hanging out with her. Think about that Little One.

Christopher made sense too, After mulling over his words, Reagan responded, “Time will tell! Cool Aunt or not, I know I’ll be having a lot of nieces and nephews around!” She couldn’t wait to love and spoil each of them! It was just wild to think that she and her siblings were growing up so fast and in a couple of years {maybe} the younger three of the Anders’ clan would have kiddos of their own! Rea did not respond to the raised eyebrow and really did her best to smother the urge to glower at him. Ugh! Men were so clueless! Of all the ones she had gone and crushed on, it had to be the most dense one.

Yes! It was ALL his fault and the young woman would continue to blame him for this all her life!

Rea stared right back, not really watching where she was going in the process. “But you’re the one who said that you didn’t mind walking with me. That tells me that I’m more important than any plans you might have had.” She had a smart mouth, Mr. Giant! So you can be sure that there would always be a counterargument on her part.

"You think so? Who do you think will end up having the most kids?" If he had to guess between himself and his siblings he would have always thought it would've been Cassie. She has that motherly vibe to her. And right now she did currently have the most children, biological or not seeing as to how both him and his brother didn't have kids. Clueless or not, she could always be honest and let him in on how she felt. It wasn't his fault she didn't feel like she was able to do that.

Why did this not surprise him at all? It probably wouldn't be the only thing she blamed him for either.

"Mm', now think about that."Really, really think about that, Reagan. No, he hadn't at all minded walking with her. In fact he was rather enjoying spending time with her. Now what did that tell her, hm?

“I know so!” Rea replied with a rather high level of enthusiasm. “Jude will have the most of all of us. He wants seven or eight. Can you believe that?!” She peered up at Christopher, her eyes wide to emphasise how serious she was being. “He’s always loved kids, and he’s great with them.” The oldest Anders’ girl fell into a moment of reminiscence of her and her siblings’ earlier days. “He’s always been able to take care of our cousins, even when they’re crying at their loudest. But I think his favourite person to babysit was and is Keigh. They’ve been inseparable since she was born and honestly? I think he’s like another parent to her.” Reagan paused. “I think caring for her in that way had a huge impact on him wanting that many kids. My poor best friend though.” She laughed quietly. “Dav probably got a shock when he learnt how big a family Jude wants.”

Yeah, well… didn’t he know how off putting his cluelessness was? It was utterly disheartening. It dod nothing to quell her fear that Christopher would not want anything to do with her if she made her feelings be known. So, blaming him was the right thing to do.

Rea narrowed her eyes at Christopher; not the dangerous kind of narrowing but one where she was actually thinking about her own words. “Oh.” Her eyes went wide again, her heart skipping a couple dozen beats as realisation dawned on her. Christopher actually has, in his own way, made her a priority today. This alone was enough to stun her into silence.

As the words left Rea's mouths, for some reason it didn't surprise Christopher one bit that Jude wanted a bunch of children. "I can actually see that. I'd never in a million years be able to handle that many myself but more power and luck to him and his partner if they do!" Seriously that guy was going to need all the blessings and about million babysitters! "They're real close in age though, yeah? So it makes sense that they understand one another super well and that he knows how to handle her.' Or it seemed that way in his head. Chris chuckled lightly. "Perhaps, unless he wants a bunch of kids too in which case they'll be all set to have a Quidditch team or something." Just don't ask him to look after them! Not all at once anyway.

No, no, he didn't. How was he meant to know when she had always made it very clear that he had irritated her? So technically it wasn't his fault that she suddenly had a change of heart and had fallen for him.

Chris was half tempted to tease her as he could tell that she was honestly considered his words now. How much she was reading into it all, well, that he couldn't be sure but the fact that she understood he had wanted to spend the afternoon with her was what was important here. "Are we good now?" He hadn't left because he didn't want to and he still didn't want to. As long as she was okay with spending time together, so was he.

It somehow made sense that Christopher understood Jude’s wish to have lots of kiddos; Jude really did give off that sort of vibe, now that Rea thought of it. “Davet’s a sport,’’ she replied, pride in her voice because her best friend happened to be a gem. “In any case, he and Jude are going to have me and the rest of the family to help.” That was what family was for. Also, Rea felt as though Addison and Connor would welcome a million grandkids so that they could keep themselves occupied. “They are. As a matter of fact, Jude, Keigh and I are close in age. It’s just Ko that’s an old man, which you already know.” Rea chuckled to herself, fully knowing that she had referred to Christopher as an ‘old man’ as well.

Rea would scream in utter frustration from this cluelessness. Honestly, Christopher!!! Didn’t he see that she was warming up to him? Did her clutching to him as they walked earlier not say that? Did the fact they spent such a long time out together today not tell him anything? Did he not see her laughing and joking with him?

But!

Unlike him, she wasn’t clueless. How lucky for Christopher, yes? “Weren’t we always?” Rea questioned sassily. But to confirm her words, she reached out to link her arm through his once more. Yes, they were more than good because Rea was very happy that he really wanted to be here with her.

"I can already see it now, a bunch of littles having you wrapped around their tiny fingers each and every time you look after them," he chuckled lightly. "All of those kids will end up just as spoiled as Cassie's are." If there didn't, then he would surely tease her for not doing a good job and that she had to up her game a bit more. But something was already telling him she would do just fine. There was a slight roll of his eyes at being referred to as an 'old man'. "Hey now, this old man can still do all of the things that you do." He was older than her, sure but he most certainly was not just a couch potato or anything like that.

Yes, he saw it. His eyes worked just fine, thank you very much. That didn't mean however that she wouldn't change attitudes on him in the blink of an eye. It's happened before. Did she not also realize that this went both ways? He hadn't kept her from holding onto his arm, in fact he had welcomed it. And he had been the one to offer to take her back to the shop she had bypassed earlier AND he was also laughing and joking about with her as well. Or was none of that important?

Super lucky indeed! What would he ever do without her? "Mm' we're right as rain Little One," he replied, grinning down at her and giving her arm a gentle squeeze.

“You know, once upon a time I would have said that that would never be true but after Koen’s girls… yep, those nieces of mine have me wrapped around their teeny tiny fingers.’’ How Rea adored Linnet and Kestrel! They also made her realise and understand how much she could not wait to be a mother someday. “I wouldn’t deny that I've already started spoiling those two. I see why you did that to Cassie’s!’’ Rea grinned up at Christopher. “Little ones deserve to be spoilt, much like pets.” Oh! The young woman caught that eye roll, Mister! “Really?” she asked with a smirk. “Can you dance for hours with hardly any breaks in between?” Because she could! All those hours of practice with Jude certainly prepared her for that!

Whatever, Christopher, you complicated man. Rea’s attitude towards him certainly wasn’t going to change overnight but it definitely was heading in the right direction. Unless he failed to see that too? Rea, on the other hand, observed Christopher’s willingness to spend the time in Diagon Alley with her. She liked this. She liked that they could have an enjoyable time together. She also liked that he didn’t recoil from her holding his arm.

She didn’t know what he would do without her. Probably his life would be super boring without her to liven it up. “You got that right, Mister Giant! I’m glad that we are.” This was really and truly how Rea felt.

"Little ones surely have a way of doing that with their cute smiles and bright eyes and truthfully, I don't envy you one bit having to deal with two identical girls messing you all up." Nope, nah-uh! No way. His nephew had done a number on his heart all by himself. Not that his niece wasn't a precious little pumpkin of a child as well. So were all the others but they were older now, it was much more difficult to resist when they were really young. "Oh, well I mostly spoil those kiddos just to bug her," Chris laughed. That was only partly true. He spoiled the kids because they were adorable. Huh? He blinked at her. "Dance for hours? Why would I even want to do that?" He had no reason to! Perhaps if he had a reason, then maybe. But that's to say he was even good at dancing. Which.. well.. he isn't all that good at it.

Complicated or not, he had taken notice of her slow change of attitude towards him previously. He wasn't going to call it a radical change or anything but it was better than when they had 'met' at Koen's wedding. It seemed as if.. times were slowly changing for the better in regards to their 'friendship'. And this pleased him.

Boring?! Excuse her. His life was not boring. Being more laid back and comfortable in his own ways didn't make him boring. "As am I." This was said with a genuine grin from him. He meant what he said, she need not worry about that.

Christopher’s words made Reagan’s brain spew forward a question. How could she have not asked this before? He and Koen were such good friends… “Have you met the twins as yet?’’ she asked curiously. If so, then he definitely would understand even further why those girls made her weak and feel powerless. If he hadn’t, he should change that soon! Rea wouldn’t mind dragging him along to visit the cherubs. “Aren’t you just evil?” The young woman could not help but giggle at the thought of a frustrated Cassie scolding Christopher for spoiling her kids. “Because it’s FUN, Christopher,’’ came her exasperated response along with an eyeroll. “You should try it sometime.”

Yes, well. Christopher wasn’t being as annoying as before. It was either that or Reagan had actually grown used to it. Either way, her tolerance of him had grown remarkably. Oh, she knew his life wasn’t boring but it might be less exciting without her in it. Anyway, she caught that grin and smiled serenely. Reagan was quite enjoying herself.

It was a pity that she would have to be on her way soon.

Christopher blinked not once but twice at Reagan. Her question almost literally blew his mind. He honestly would've thought she had known this already but maybe she didn't and just assumed given Koen's very busy schedule and things that it was possible he hadn't met the girls as of yet. "I have. And I must say they are lovely little ones, they look just like their mum." He smirked at bit at Rea, obviously he was joking as the girls looked very much like both of their parents. "Evil? Me? Never. I simply make sure the kids had a wonderful time with their Uncle Chris." In the form of spoiling them all rotten. It just couldn't help it when he was with those little ones. "Dancing for hours? No thanks, I think I'll pass on that one." There were just some things in life he could do without and that was one of them. No one wanted to see him dancing for hours on end.

Was that it? If anyone asked he would like to think that it was perhaps that she was warming up to him and not being so nit picking about everything he said and did. Or maybe it was just the fact that she liked him and therefore it didn't matter as much anymore as she was willing to overlook certain things because of that. Either way he was content in the fact that they were no longer arguing constantly.

This may be true but there were always many more days that they could spend together should she care to do so.

No, Rea didn’t know at all. It wasn’t like she had been keeping track of either Ko’s or Christopher’s schedule. And she hadn’t been remotely interested in Christopher before to have asked Ko or Stas. “I’m glad you did! And that you think they’re lovely but they’re tiny and kind of look like potatoes. How does anyone tell which parent they look like?” Rea shook her head in sheer bewilderment. Such was her puzzlement that she failed to understand that Christopher had been joking. “You should have your own babysitting business. If you ever get tired of your job, you can quit and do that.” Or maybe he could do that during his retirement? He probably wasn’t far off from that age anyway… it would definitely explain why Christopher would not take up a couple of hours-long dancing.

There were a handful of potential reasons, weren't there? Whichever the true reason or reasons were, the fact remained that this seemed to be the start of a great friendship. And unless she was wrong, Christopher seemed to enjoy her presence too. The latter was Reagan’s idle thought as they continued walking and her gaze fleeted from shop to shop.

Oh, Rea certainly did care to have more days like this. She just didn’t know how to ask him knowing what she knew about him preferring to do things by himself. She really wished HE would ask her instead.

For what it was worth, he had no clue at times what she knew or didn't know. There had been a strong possibility that she could've known he had met the twins before in all their little baby glory. "Potatoes?' Christopher chuckled unable to keep that one back. Forgive him but he may have to keep that response in mind for any future babies he meets cause this was great. "You don't know? I'll let you in on a little secret then. Ready?" He leaned in a bit closer to her as if he needed to whisper it to her. Huh?! Now it was this man's turn to look puzzled. "Babysitting business? Me? Absolutely not. I couldn't handle it." Yes, he most definitely could. As Rea had seen before, he was wonderful with kids. Hey now! Rude! If she thought he was old he couldn't wait to see her at his age and what she thought of herself.

One might reckon that it was various reasons and not one in particular reason. Or so he would think. Whatever the reason or reasons might be, Chris didn't really mind as long as all that childishness that was in their past was now behind. Reagan would be correct in her assumptions that he didn't at all mind her presence, when she wasn't being all crappy or running off for no reason whatsoever.

"This isn't so bad, hm? Think we could manage it again sometime?" Either with some shopping mixed in or without, he didn't mind either way.

Reagan knew a lot of things but Christopher meeting her nieces had not been one of them; but now she did know and it hadn’t come as any surprise that he seemed to like them. “Potatoes,’’ she confirmed quite solemnly, choosing to ignore his chuckle. Yes, she knew the comparison was a funny one but she was dead serious; so many of those munchkins looked like potatoes when they were newborns. She narrowed her eyes at him as he leaned closer as if suspicious he might be wanting to say something that would poke fun at her. “What’s the secret?’’ the young woman asked calmly, keeping her gaze steady on his face. Nope, there would be no complaints from her about getting to view Christopher’s face this closely. “Sure you couldn’t.’’ Her tone was a disbelieving one because Reagan was certain that he would be able to handle a babysitting job. For his information though, she would be lithe, agile and graceful in her old age! This was what all that constant dancing was preparing her for!

Reagan was quite sorry to burst your bubble Christopher {not really} but she was quite certain that her childish traits would never die; they would resurface at some point. Did this mean that should anything further develop between them {and that was a HUGE ‘what if’} that he wouldn’t be able to handle her in all her moods? Because Rea wanted to be with someone who would be able to do that.

Then he surprised the heck out of her; so much so that Rea was quite stunned into silence for a moment. She cleared her throat, her heart thudding wildly with glee. “Yes, this isn’t bad at all.” Rea did her best to keep her voice casual. “And yes, we should do this again. Whenever you have the time.” Sooner rather than later though.

"I never really considered that a comparison to babies before but I guess if you really think about it, it does work, doesn't it?" Christopher grinned at her. This was quite the interesting concept to him and he wouldn't at all be surprised if the next time he saw a baby he found himself comparing it to random items. "They look exactly like both their parents," he replied simply. Yup, that was the entire secret. She was welcome. She was also welcome that his handsome face was so close to hers. There was a small eyebrow raise from him. "You saying that I could?" That was definitely not a career choice he had ever considered for himself!

Maybe, maybe not. He had thought that he had always handled her moods incredibly well. It had been her that had always pitched a mood and walked away from him first if his memory served him correctly.

Ah, sweet sweet music to his ears! Kidding! No, though. Seriously. The brief moment of stunned silence made him grin at her. "Me? I should think that I may have more time then you might what with university and auditions and such, coming up for you, right?" Or was he wrong and she had more free time than he thought? If that was the case then they shouldn't have too much of an issue finding some time to do this again.

“Oh, it absolutely works! Now whenever you see a baby, you wouldn’t be able to get this comparison out of your head.” Reagan grinned broadly. You’re welcome, Christopher, for the widening of your knowledge! The young woman then made a silly expression right up close and personal to his {handsome} face. HE was welcome that he got to see her silliness from just a couple of centimetres away. “I suppose they do when they reach a year or so.” Or maybe a few months? “Duuuh, Christopher!” She rapped his forehead lightly with her a knuckle. “Have all your brain cells died? I’ve been saying that you’d make an excellent babysitter all along.”

It was very much a comparison he was going to see all the time now thanks to her. One that was surely going to get him strange looks should he ever laugh about it too. "You're going to get me into trouble with this," He could just imagine himself laughing and then having to try to explain why to Cassie or something. That was going to go over so very well! From the silly faces to her tapping on his forehead, Christopher was so caught off guard by her silly behavior that all he could do was laugh. "Sure have! The mere suggestion of it killed them all," he replied, grinning widely at her through his own amusement now.
