Hello, everyone! Looking for a spot to add more details about all your characters? How about more information on those creatures and spells that we keep learning about? Or how about those businesses and other schools? Well, you came to the right place! Everyone is free to create a Wiki page for their own characters and add it to the spreadsheets if they wish to do so. Do you need some help on adding? Feel free to post the info and we'll be more than happy to do it. ;) Please keep in mind that these spreadsheets are kept up to date by an individual basis per RPer and may not include all characters nor be 100% accurate to the current SSRPG timeline.

Everyone is free to create a page for their own characters, if they wish to do so. However, my vision for this was mostly to archive SS canon information, which is why I am posting this here, to ask for your help to contribute to the page. Anyone with an account can create a page, and accounts are free, so everyone can participate. SS is as huge community and we are gonna need as many people as we can to fill as much as we can.

I got a page up for the Sinistra Lumina spell listed in the first post. It's nothing fancy and I'm still trying to figure out all the coding for this thing :x3: But it's there for editing so ya'll can add whatever I missed and make it all pretty and stuff :D

I'm already rather fond of SS wiki :lol: so I say we should all band together and get this happening. It'll be such a great tool to use, and so much easier to keep track of things instead of sifting through the archives all the time.

Okay... I added the trimming charm that Bentley had explained. And it took me one hour to add a page with one paragraph. :mellow: *ish new*

I just wanted to say that I couldn't find a category for that and I didn't know whether to start a Herbology category or a spells category...so yeah I just created the page and that was it. :upside: *proud*

I'm going to speak for everyone, but... that should be okay.

I think we want to grab hold of anything we create on SS that has become SS canon (characters, history, books, potions, shops, food, music, anything) and get it posted and sorted so everyone can make use of it. Imagine how helpful it is to know that you can use a reference to something magical and other people will be on the same page. That is, of course, in addition to how useful having a general spot for spells and lesson subject matter is.

So that being said, if you've made something up and feel it is now SS canon, then you should make a page. Be wary, though, that if your canon butts up against JK's actual canon or the generally accepted site canon (you cannot claim your character is Head Girl this year unless her name is Evelyn Flores, for example), then we'll have some issues with our data.

Quick tip. If you are feeling discouraged to make a page because you don't know how to, just "edit" someone else's page on the same subject to see how they did the coding. Please remember not to save if you were playing around and messed up the existing pages. ;)

My point is; how do I search in that wiki page? Everytime I type a category name or a spell name I get no results... :erm:

I did it the old school way; search one by one. In case if Luke hasn't cross Plumexer up, I've made a page of it. ^_^

next i just need to ask some techie questions (bcz i cant help it and it will guide me when i get around to uploading content)

- do we have a space limit for that site? how many GBs, pages et al.

- is there some kind of auto-cataloging/ indexing for the site? someone already mentioned using the search bar and not getting any results. is that something done automatically by Wikia or something the global editor/s need to do manually?

I don't know about size, but at this point, you shouldn't not create a page out of size concerns. IMO.

Cataloging is mostly done through the addition of categories when you create a new article, and the more specific tags you add, the better. Sme of us are going back in and cleaning up and adding tags to make more searches possible, but it is arduous work and would be easier if they were put in correctly on the front end. Although I'd be adding them anyway because we keep thinking of new ways info can be organized... By class, for example, so we add graduation year.

The search box is relatively limited in some ways, but it works. I haven't spent much time using it, but I can pull things up. Pages pull up if you search correctly, but you can't pull up a category that I can see. Something to work out as we roll along.

Okay, I don't think I'll do pages for all my charries (since at last count I was already up to 10 xD Or at least I won't do pages for them all right now) But maybe I'll put one up for Renée, as former school staff would definitely be canon. And maybe Dorian (Ministry). Maybe Rhiannon as well, although some of her history verges a bit on the violent side thanks to RPing done with Khat when Rhiannosh was still active

I am adding all of them because I think Hera added her own additional information like uses, care, and so on. I just haven't gotten to all of them. If you can help, that would be great. :)

I made a page for Cantra, school in Germany. That is where Wist Ebony used to be before coming to Hogwarts. I see that all the spells are done, so I doubt I can help there.

Thank you to everyone who has made a contribution. I can't believe we have over 260 pages total, 60 characters, 42 spells, 32 potions, 80 magical plants, and so on. :)

I am going to be editing the front page to make it a little easier to navigate. Meanwhile, keep those pages coming and make use of them! Have your character show off in a class by performing a different spell or something. I did it last term got 10 extra points!!! ;)

I've started working on the transfiguration stuff from the earlier terms. I figured most people would start from the beginning, but I think a lot of the recent transfiguration prof are using the old stuff anyways.

Do you mean in that table, format, template thing? You get the picture link from like Photobucket, and you have the [ IMG ] [/ IMG ] coding around it in the image part of the template. When it's just on the page though you upload it on the side with the 'add features and media part', you click photo, and follow the stuff from there such as upload and adding.

If that doesn't work I have no idea >_< Sorry if it's confusing, I'm horrible at explaining stuff.

I meant on the character category page. Like the index. :lol: I got a picture to show up on the actual page for Renée, it's just not showing up elsewhere.

*pets* It can wait til someone who really knows what they're doing is around.

what do you need help with exactly? I mean not everyone's character page has to look the same. I mean that is more personal than say the list of potions page or something. But I will most def help if you need it

There reason its not showing up on the like the character page is because you haven't added any tags to your page at the bottom

Go all the way to the bottom of the page click add categories button and add the tags. 'Characters' is the one you want to add so you will show up on that page.

I added Characters, Spells, Potions, and Magical Plants to the navigation bar. Wish I could make it more noticeable, though.

^_^ Well whatever did the trick worked, as all that's straightened out (and I just started actually putting in her history. :xd: Hopefully nobody minds elabroation on what was said in her bio here. ;))

There are two I didn't put there, although I am putting one on today. I read that a certain professor had something to do with the Cult, but I still am not sure if she IS a Cult member or if she just has connections.

I will say yes, until Ern comes and says otherwise. It's being linked on SS so it should be SS-appropriate. :)
