Students are enrolled in the appropriate grade based on the student's age prior to the first day of attendance (September 1st) as with other wizarding institutions. A student must be 11 years of age before the start of their first-year school term. It is okay if the student is older than their peers since some start school late, have to repeat a year, etc. Students with their birth year too young will automatically have it raised up.

Ariadne is a triplet who has learned to be brave to keep up with Tiffany’s and Johnnys' shenanigans, but still quite sensitive. She is good natured and openly friendly towards new people as well as patient and a hard worker. She has love for all things involving nature’s flora and fauna. She is a loyal and caring friend to those she befriends. Ariadne is also book smart which makes studying, and remembering things mostly easy if it isn’t things she finds difficult like charmwork or transfiguring objects. Something she has learned from growing up in a triplet trio is being a good scanner of emotions mostly Tiff’s and Johnny’s and knowing when to stop pushing buttons or leave. Born on a blustery November morning at St. Mungo's Hospital in 2102, Ariel Margot Scamander came into the world squalling louder than the newborn Hippogriff she'd sneak into a birthday tea party years later. Ariel was practically raised among feathers, fur, and fangs as her childhood was spent weaving through the enclosures of Scamander Zoo, her wellies perpetually muddy and her hair perpetually wild. With her father, Jonah Scamander, as the zoo's director and her mother, Eloise, known for her strict notes on safety procedures, Ariel quickly carved out her place as the irrepressible red-headed spark of the family.
From a young age, Ariel's curiosity burned bright. She asked "why?" far more often than "how?", and her tendency to poke her nose into everything—sometimes literally with unwanted consequences—earned her the affectionate nickname "Airhead" from her older brother, Noah.
While she thrived in the artsier bits of her primary schooling—anything involving glitter, music, or faerie tales—subjects like maths and history were met with dramatic sighs and doodled-on parchment. She much preferred stories over facts, and her love of fictional adventures involving dragons and daring heroines shaped much of her imaginative worldview.
When Ariel received her Hogwarts letter, it surprised no one when she was sorted into Gryffindor—though the Sorting Hat paused long enough to consider Hufflepuff, noting her fierce loyalty and tender-hearted nature. At Hogwarts, she threw herself into her studies (the creature-related ones, anyway) and joined nearly every club that sounded remotely interesting: Creature Companions, Drama, Duelling, even the Frog Choir, where her average singing voice was made up for by sheer enthusiasm.

As for my mum, we’re always cordial, but it is strained at times, especially when she goes after my dad (and not in the romantic way). Things are cool-to-cold between my stepfather and I, but I love my half-brother as if he were my full one.
Background It’s time to cast your spell on the night
From the beginning, my parental situation has been a mess. Conceived just as my parents’ relationship was ending for good, my mother never told my father she was even pregnant. Instead, Mum (despite being a successful Quidditch player) completely disappeared off the radar for nine months, popping up again only after my birth. This was, of course, just fine with Dad who never even noticed as he never really paid attention to sports anyway. Until the rumors about why, exactly, Mum had disappeared from the public eye started flying. The then auror did his own investigating and that was how, after about a year, he found out he was the father to a baby girl. Mum had kept my existence secret more out of spite for Dad than anything else. But she did quickly agree to share custody with him after he found out, knowing full well the legal trouble he could bring her way.
The tension caused by this start my parents have tried to keep from me. But I can sense it and I use it to my advantage when I can, usually more successfully with Mum than Dad.
Despite this, my childhood has been pretty typical. Or, as typical as the life of the child of an auror and a famous Quidditch player can be, anyway. Birthday parties with my friends (mostly the children of my parents’ coworkers), back and forth between mum’s and dad’s houses, a new stepfather and brother when I was about five, starting primary school, paparazzi trying to snap pictures of my mum and by extension my brother and I, blah, blah, blah.
Did I mention that my Dad is the Head Auror of the Ministry of Magic and my mother is a now retired Appleby Arrow? Don’t call me a nepobaby, though, I DON’T LIKE IT!

Family Background
