Students are enrolled in the appropriate grade based on the student's age prior to the first day of attendance (September 1st) as with other wizarding institutions. A student must be 11 years of age before the start of their first-year school term. It is okay if the student is older than their peers since some start school late, have to repeat a year, etc. Students with their birth year too young will automatically have it raised up.

Norman is the only child of Eudora, a magical shopkeeper, and Gordon, a muggle police officer. As a child, he idolized his father and knew from a young age that he wanted to protect and serve, just like his dad. That dream became even more important to him at the age of eight when his father was killed in the line of duty. Following Gordon’s passing, Eudora took a second job to provide for her young son. While the extra work hours kept the small family afloat, it also meant Norman spent a lot of time on his own.
Like his mother, Norman attended Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was chosen by Thunderbird and Horned Serpent but chose Horned Serpent as his house. Although he excelled in most of his studies, he was most passionate about Transfiguration and Defensive Studies. While at Ilvermorny, he met and fell in love with Cherie Maine, a sweet but rebellious girl from a wealthy Southern family. After graduation, the two married and relocated to Salem so they could attend university together.
Norman majored in Human Transfiguration and took a job at a magical equipment repair shop to put himself through university. During his final year, his mother took ill; Eudora lived long enough to see Norman graduate from university but not to see him accepted into the Auror training program. Following four years in training, Norman finally achieved his dream of becoming an Auror. He and Cherie moved to Charlotte, NC (Cherie’s hometown) in hopes of starting a family together, but it was not to be.
In the fall of 2088, Norman was tasked with apprehending a particularly violent dark wizard. Although he was ultimately successful in his mission, he was gravely injured in the fight. After spending months in a hospital recovering from his injuries, he returned home expecting to find Cherie waiting for him, only to learn that she died while he was away. Unbeknownst to Norman at the time, Cherie left behind a daughter named Normandie in his honor (spelled with - ie instead of -y so people wouldn’t think she was named for the region in France).
With Cherie dead and his Auror career effectively ended by his injuries, there was nothing left in the States for Norman. He moved to the UK to escape the memories of all he’d lost and rekindled his passion for transfiguration. After a few months working various odd jobs, he landed steady employment with a vanishing cabinet maker. He and his boss got along well, and it’s thanks to his boss that Norman discovered his talent for teaching. After hearing his boss complain that his son was struggling in transfiguration, Norman offered to help the boy, which led to a job as a private tutor. At his former boss’s encouragement, he later applied for a teaching position at WU Edinburgh where he remained employed for nine years, first as a teaching assistant then as a professor of Human Transfiguration.
It was during his time teaching at WU Edinburgh that Norman found out about his daughter through a chance encounter. He contacted Normandie’s guardian, sending documentation to back his claim, and a paternity test confirmed that he was Normandie’s father. After learning that Normandie wanted a relationship with him but did not want to move to Scotland, it was agreed that Normandie would stay with her guardian so she could keep attending Ilvermorny and visit her father during the summer and holiday breaks. It was because of Normandie that Norman applied for the position of Hogwarts transfiguration professor, as he felt the younger generation could benefit from his knowledge. Now he is eager to start a new and hopefully brighter chapter in his life.

Nadia was born as a twin through surrogacy to Aditya and Benjamin Atreyu-Rehman. Together they are the middle children but that didn't make any bit of difference when in comparison to her older brother, Rajesh or younger brother Aryan. a point that both parents did their best to keep, especially given she and her sister Dynah were biologically connected to their fathers while the boys are both adopted.
Raised on a Dragon and Hippogriff reserve, she has been surrounded by creatures of all sorts her entire life and like the rest of her family has an affinity for them. When of age, she attended St. Woboldo's Primary School {Hexagon Alley, London, United Kingdom} graduating in 2109 at the age of 10. And then there was the anxiously awaited Hogwarts letter for both Dynah and Nadia leading her to 7 years in her fathers' and brother's footsteps.

HISTORY
Nancy is the middle child of her siblings, born on Valentine’s Day 2098 right in the middle of two sets of twins. This was the last year her father, Tucker, was a History of Magic professor at Ilvermorny. He had an opportunity to be a Cursebreaker in the British Ministry of Magic, and since it would bring him closer to his family (and Isabelle’s, as she too was from the UK) it was a no-brainer for him to take it. Despite her father’s tenure there, none of the Schultz children ever attended Ilvermorny as they were too young when they moved back to the UK.
When Nancy was three, shortly after the birth of her younger siblings (another pair of twins, shockingly) her parents divorced. It was an amicable break up, with both her parents remaining friends and doing everything they could to co-parent efficiently. While it was difficult growing up splitting holidays and weekends between her parents houses, Nancy still felt like she had a loving family upbringing. Their parent’s divorce was just a fact of life that they dealt with. As of the start of her third year, neither of her parents have remarried. Her mother had two or three serious boyfriends growing up that she can remember, but only one - Jacob - got to the point where she actually introduced him to the children, and they broke up fairly shortly after that.
With two pairs of twins siblings, Nancy learned early on that staying quiet and out of the way was the best way to get through life. This might make it seem like she is the black sheep of the family, but on the contrary - she’s quite close with all her siblings and her parents. Still, when her family headed to the beach, she was happy to sit under the umbrella reading a book while her siblings frolicked in the water. She always sort of felt like the odd one out being in the middle, and sometimes overcompensated for this by trying extra hard in school or extracurricular activities in an effort to stand out. This led to a bit of a breakdown when she was 8 years old, and she had to be homeschooled for a year while she dealt with her anxiety. Thankfully, she has a pretty decent handle on it now.
Due to the fact that she was quiet and minded her own business, she didn't really receive the brunt of her parent's vastly different parenting styles. Her mum had always been more hands off, whereas her dad was more strict. Her grandmother is also generally much more lenient on her than her siblings. Her mother told her that it was due to her Hufflepuff sorting - her grandmother had been distraught when Tucker was sorted there, and probably had lingering guilt over her ridiculous over-reaction, so she is much gentler with her than her siblings.
PERSONALITY
When she was younger, Nancy was generally one of those people who started off very quiet. After starting school, however, Nancy has become far more extroverted and is no longer terrified to start conversations with her peers. She is also more likely to make appearances at events, when in the past she would have much preferred to hang out in her dorm with a good book or her latest knitting project.
She has both the compulsive need to be liked while also wanting to avoid people quite frequently. Her social battery, while more energy efficient than it used to be, still drains quickly some days. Kind of just depends. She is also very creative and loves to have different projects going at all times. Whether it's knitting, making friendship bracelets, drawing, or learning new instruments - she likes to keep busy and is always looking for something to entertain her! Her balance between doing activities she likes intermingled with her schoolwork has rewarded her with relatively good grades, and has helped her anxiety remain low while at school.
THE HOGWARTS YEARS
The time had finally arrived - it was time for Nancy to head off to Hogwarts! Having one older brother in Slytherin and one in Ravenclaw, she was eager to see where the sorting hat wanted to put HER. She figured she would end up in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff, and to her surprise - she did in fact end up in Hufflepuff. Nancy tends to be very loyal to her friends and family, so her sorting made sense. Her father Tucker was also a Hufflepuff - much to her grandmother's dismay.
Nancy quickly found that Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms were her favorite subjects. Activities that required lots of moving around - not so much. She's very much a 'sit and take notes' kind of gal. She found that she quite liked the fact that she was also within walking distance to the kitchens. She spent the majority of her term exploring the castle, making friends, and trying to get used to the Hogwarts routine.
Her second year, she began to open up more, making more friends and becoming more social. Her parents were thrilled - they had been convinced she was going to be a recluse at school, so the fact that she not only had friends but had MANY of them was very relieving to them both. Instead of hiding in her dorm, she could be found more and more in the common room, working on craft projects or her homework.
FUN TIDBITS
-Despite being born in Boston, Massachusetts, has a South London accent since they moved back to the UK when she was a toddler. She holds dual citizenship, as do all her siblings.
-Her parents got her a kitten for Hogwarts that she did NOT ask for, so now she has a cat. His name is Hades.
-Does not get along well with her older brother Joseph for whatever reason - that tends to a trend in the family, but she's trying now that she's older to understand him better.
-Played the flute and did competitive tennis when she was younger.

Dhruv vacationed at Ean's place where Aryan was invited by Jan to spend the holidays as well. The boys took it up on themselves to spy on Dhruv & Ean, which resulted in them being caught. The boys revealed what they had been up to and why, to which Ean later commented that anything happening between him and Dhruv 'would not be a bad thing' {summer}; Those words replayed constantly in Dhruv's mind and for the first time in a while, considered the possibility of an actual relationship {which they purposely kept away from due to personal reasons}; As the term progressed, Dhruv dismissed the idea since they surmised that Ean wasn't serious about his comment.
2114 {turns 46 years} - Aryan eventually was forced to admit that there was nothing going on but he and Jansher were determined to change this. They sent flowers and chocolates to Dhruv & Ean under the pretext that the Valentine's Day gifts to Dhruv were from Ean and vice versa. The adults eventually figured out that the gifts weren't from each other but it did result in Ean saying that Dhruv is practically his 'Forever Valentine'; attended the Woodcroft Games together where Ean commented that it made a 'nice date'. This left Dhruv confused over Ean's mixed signals since they thought they had imagined the possibility of anything happening between the two of them. {during the academic year}; E & D took Jan, Ary, Zen, Idris and Paul to amusement parks, giving the kiddos a bright start to the summer holidays. Ean planned another road trip to neighbouring countries for the pair, which began in the last week of June. However, during mid July, they were unfortunately attacked during which Dhruv was knocked out. This resulted in them receiving a memento of the attack in the form of a 'half moon' scar below the right eye {the attacker that knocked them out had been wearing a ring at the time}. Ean was able to revive them using CPR; upon coming back to their senses, the two hugged. Dhruv noted the concerned/relieved look on Ean's face, they quite forgot all about the mixed signals and kissed him. Much to their surprise, Ean kissed them back. Saffron had no idea she was pregnant when she went into labor in the early morning of Christmas Day 2096. Quite frankly, a baby was the last thing her and Albert expected to receive that day. But Reuben had other ideas and he’s been ruining their lives ever since. Or something like that.
When he started at Hogwarts, Reuben was one of the unlucky students who was CURSED BY PEEVES! At first, it was pretty amusing to have steam pour from his ears - especially when he learned to control it. But it did end up tiresome, and he was relieved when things ended. Though it was a pretty good metaphor for the things that his brain contained, which is frankly just a lot of hot air.

Spruce
The Spruce wand requires a firm hand as it often appears to have its own ideas about what magic it ought to be called upon to produce. Most suited to a bold and oftentimes flashy spell-caster with a good sense of humour, the Spruce wand requires a deft touch. Streeler
Wands with a core of Streeler shell are notoriously difficult to make, but achievable by the most skilled and fastidious in the profession. The wandmaker must be certain all traces of toxic slime are removed before combining it with the wood, at which point the wood may still reject the core (this is more likely in some woods than others). This wand is surprisingly well suited to Herbological endeavours, in spite of its vegetation-killing poisonous trail, and is also superb for Transfiguration and for use in potion-making. The individual matched to a Streeler wand core is most likely highly independent and self-sufficient with a tendency towards self-preservation. Born into a loving family, Wilber startled his parents at the age of 5 when he accidentally turned all the light switches in their home into butterflies. He was often overlooked during his time at Hogwarts due to his quiet and shy nature, he was often drawn to the library where he sought to learn more about the magical world of which he belonged to and also fell in love with poetry - particularly the prose of muggle poets. It was not until his university days that his sheepish social bubble was stretched and tested by the likes of an enchanting Pre-Healer Studies student named Clove Fisher whom Wilber met during his shift as a Library Assistant while earning his first degree. It was the sort of love that had Wilber finally understand the words of rhymes of the poets he had been so enthralled with for so many years. The two were married soon after they both completed their degrees and due to infertility issues unable to bear any children. Wilber and Clove entered the field of education together (he as a teacher and her as a school nurse) where they filled the void in their hearts by witnessing the successes and triumphs of their students. Both fought in the Third Wizarding War on the side of the Order of the Phoenix and it was during this battle that Clove was struck down by a Neo-Alliance's Killing Curse while attempting to retrieve the injured in the Hogwarts courtyard. His world shattered, Wilber nearly recoiled from the world after the conclusion of the war but instead returned to the field of education in honor of his late wife, the lessons in life she had bestowed upon him, and to continue to educate future generations.
Generous to a fault, Wilber is a rather clumsy individual who is prone to knocking things over. It was his late wife's suggestion that he get a demiguise who, through the grace of precognitive sight, could help ensure things not be too much of a disaster. This tendency has only amplified since the war, a consequence of his physical and emotional injuries, but his skill at juggling remains strong. A foodie, particularly baked goods, Wilber has two left feet though does always give his most sincere and earnest effort. Brandon is quiet and pretty unassuming, but he's a very friendly kid who craves acceptance and is loyal to a fault. He's caring and kind to pretty much everyone. He's NOT a hugger, but he likes to hug or hold hands with his close friends. He also likes to take care of his friends- brushing their hair or making them feel better when they're down. Aurora attended a muggle Primary School before going to Hogwarts. Her magical skills didn’t start showing until she was 10 years old leaving her a little concerned that she might not be magical at all. Although given the choice of going to Beauxbatons where her sister was already attending, Aurora wanted to be exactly like her mums and chose Hogwarts instead. Her childhood was altogether pretty normal and uneventful which was a relief to her parents. The family often spent time holidaying in Greece when they could.

A very beautiful wood, highly prize, and surprisingly lethal - depending, of course, on the witch or wizard who wielded it. No bad wands, et cetera, et cetera. Given the power in that wood, matching them to eleven-year-olds could be something of a risk, but Zeke felt certain it was not have chosen this boy to wield it if he were not - or did not have the potential to be - capable, regardless of how quiet he was on the outside. In any case, the core did temper things somewhat. "Unicorn hair cores make for very faithful wands, and the magic they produce is very reliable; generally they don't make for the most powerful magic, but you may find the wood gives your spells all the oomph you could want. With this core, your wand is well suited to charms, transfigurations, and, again, healing magic."

In the Topiary Garden {which happened to be the boys' fave spot as it represented them both - Flora for Drake, Fauna for Ary}, he told Drake how he felt which left his friend shocked but pleased. It was revealed that the feelings Ary expressed were mutual. Despite knowing this, he did not immediately ask Drake to be his boyfriend as he knew he needed to talk to Bry first. It took him about a week for him to work up the courage to admit to Bry that he was interested in her romantically as well as Drake. This went about as well as Ary imagined with there being a tantrum and tears on Bry's part, and loads of misery on his his part for hurting her. It was during the tantrum that Ary kissed her, mainly to get her to stop. It worked, though he left her immediately after as he was unable to watch her suffer. The two did not talk for about two weeks since Bry put some distance between them to process all Ary had admitted to her. Eventually she came around, and the two began to date officially. Only then, once Ary knew Bry had accepted his feelings for Drake as well, did he and Drake began dating too. {September}
2114 {turns 14 years} - Had Jan over at the Reserve for some summer fun; Bry indicated her interest in learning to become an Animagus which in turn led Ary to realise he would like to master the Patronus Charm. He confided this in Jan who also expressed an in learning the Charm.
