The doors of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes first opened in the summer of 1996, sparking the reality of what had been a dream for the Weasley twins. In the years since then, the laughter has continued and the bell above the door rings consistently in the busy times. The bright store has traded hands between a handful of shopkeepers, but the legacy of the Weasley twins continues through the light and laughter in the air at any moment of the day.
Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes sells a range of items, separated into different areas of the store over two floors. You’ll find a myriad of unorganised displays in the aisles enticing shoppers to buy both tricks and treats such as punching telescopes, canary creams and anti-gravity hats. In recent decades, the store has expanded their range of stock and now sells the very objects from your child’s wildest dreams.. toys and forever floating balloons! It’s not easy to miss, but on the right of the second floor is a violently pink area full of WonderWitch products. The display here is full of bright pink flowers and confetti surrounding the stock of love potions and other items. Just a few footsteps away is the Pygmy Puff area where you can select a new friend in all shades of pink and purple with a matching cage!
As you reach the back of the store, you’ll find the queue for the counter where the shopkeeper will get you served as quick as they can. If you were looking for the Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes brand of fireworks, then here’s where to come as they are stored behind the counter on the highest of shelves. Safety first, folks.

That was a perfectly reasonable question that unfortunately Elias didn’t have an answer to other than that his curiosity had clearly got the better of him. “Why are YOU in here if you agree with me?” How did she like the accusation back? “There’s a big difference between mature and boring” he retorted followed by a roll of the eyes.
What Octavia was describing as predictability, Elias would imply was reliability and ~consistency~ which he would say wasn’t exactly a bad thing. He might have been self-absorbed and judgemental but at least everyone knew what they were getting from him. “Because I don’t NEED to ‘lighten up’.” Nor did he take too kindly to being told to do it either.
Providing insight to life at Hogwarts would sadly be impossible. He might’ve appeared to be beyond his eleven years but this September was his first year too. He didn’t even have much familial knowledge of the school either considering his entire family had traditionally attended Durmstrang which quite frankly was where he wanted to be. “Me too” his nose wrinkled. “I’ll be a first year but I’m supposed to be at Durmstrang.” The far superior school in his ever so accurate opinion. In HIS head he was always right, anyway.

Oliver was out and about looking for gifts. The twins' birthday was coming up soon, and Dragomir's not long after that. Not that he thought his husband would be particularly interested in anything he could find at Weasley's Wizard Wheezes. But he thought that he might be able to find something for the twins. He glanced up and down some aisles. Fireworks were definitely a no. Prank items didn't thrill him, considering they would be in his house. And then aha, the toy aisle. That was what he was looking for.
Oliver was just looking at a self swinging skipping rope when he heard a loud sound. He startled and looked around him, looking for the source. It sounded like it was coming from his left, but there was nothing there but a wall. It was possible that it had come from behind it. He took a few steps closer curiously. Had anyone else heard that?

This shop was overwhelming, or at least in Cora's opinion it was. The blonde had been walking up and down the aisles, hoping something on the shelves would catch her attention. She had one goal: to buy a gift for her nephew that he would like. Contrary to her nieces, she always had a hard time shopping for Logan. So the task at hand was easier said than done, largely because he was in that phase of his life where she didn't know if he was still into the silly joke items Weasleys' had or if his interests had matured.
She sighed, finding nothing that seemed interesting enough. It was times like these when she wished her brother or sister-in-law were there to lend a guiding hand. At this point in her alley venture, she was debating sending a Patronus to the boy's parents for advice or just defaulting to teach him a bit of alchemy and deal with the potential repercussions later. Actually, that last option sounded like a goo--
The instant a loud commotion registered in her ears, she immediately crouched down to the ground. Had someone set off a firework? The initial hunch didn't seem likely, since there was no dazzling light or further whizzing about the shop. So, now slightly curious, she slowly returned to her full height and peeked her head around the aisle.

Very important stuff happening today. AND SOOOOOOOO. Laini made a beeline towards the WonderWitch collection as soon as she stepped foot in the store (accidentally knocking shoulders with a few unsuspecting patrons as she made her way through, SORRY).
And there it was. Like everything she had imagined it to be. (aka, she had always made a point to press her face up against the windows outside and longingly look at the Pygmy Puff display so she knew exactly how to imagine it to be). "Eeenie Meannieeeee, Miiinnneyyyyy- THIS ONE!" She picked an especially fluffy pink puff and squished it up against her face.
Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes was just one of those shops where Elio needed absolutely none of the merchandise, wanted less than half of it, and yet was inexplicably drawn to all of it. Half this stuff - if he were allowed to buy that much - would have come home and sat unused and untouched for... well. For probably ever.
Because Elio wasn't really a prankster or even really a jokester. His own brand of trouble seemed to be perfectly organic, that is, he couldn't seem to help it that trouble sprang up around him sometimes. He also couldn't imagine himself - here on the cusp of finally going to magic school - wanting to miss out on any of the lessons.
Yet here he was, arms full of Skiving Snackboxes, Extendable Ears, Instant Darkness Powder, the works. He'd wavered near the counter, eyeing the boxes of fireworks wistfully, because those were something he would like to get his hands on. Elio wasn't sure he'd be allowed to buy them, and even if he was, he only had 10 galleons (weeks and weeks of saved up pocket money) and seven of those were going on these things he'd already picked up, and even if he could afford fireworks and was permitted to buy them from the shop... Papà might be disappointed. Elio didn't know if that would definitely be the case, but his father did get kind of funny about being wasteful with money. Were fireworks wasteful? Hard to say. They were literally burned up, weren't they?
Of course, thinking about all that had made Elio dither over buying even his chosen items, and so he'd wandered around the shop a little longer instead, eventually ending up... here. Where the girl stuff was. Which was also where the pygmy puffs were, for some reason. And as Elio approached, he watched this girl puck up a pygmy puff and nuzzle it into submission. "Are you getting one?"
They were cute, but Elio was only tempted by them in the same way that he was tempted by everything else in here - flashy surroundings and bright colours doing all the heavy lifting. Really, he wasn't planning on getting any kind of pet, because he wouldn't know if Cosmo would like it.

She had kind of forgotten that this was a store for more than just pygmy puffs. What other things people could possibly be interested in here was that of a total mystery to Laini Sage who hadn't really taken the time to peruse the other aisles. It kind of took her by surprise, honestly. So she focused on one or two of the things in his hold to wrap her head around it all.
"Are you getting all that?" Without meaning for it, her brows lifted.

"Won't if get confusing if they're both called Sophie?" Elio asked the girl, shifting the items in his arms as a couple of the boxes threatened to fall. Also, there was a tickly lock of hair that kept falling into his eyes, and he tried to puff his breath upwards to blow it free.
But then. Then. Elio could tell where the girl was looking, and he shifted the things he was carrying again, this time more self-consciously, and making them all the more likely to fall, though he kept his tenuous hold on them. "So what if I am?" he replied, a little defensively. Because of course he would be getting it all, even though he himself had only just minutes ago been doubting whether he would or should. Now that someone else had questioned the decision, it was clearly the course of action he would take, however obstinately. "What's wrong with getting all this?" And why were her eyebrows doing that thing? It wasn't that weird. It wasn't eyebrow-worthy.
... Was it?
Not that it mattered, because this was the stuff he was getting no matter what.

All this aside, she was judging his choices, yes. "Nothing, I guess," she shrugged, her eyebrows still doing most of the talking. "If you want that much stuff. Just seems like a lot." He couldn't even hold it properly. She'd offer to help, but she was holding her pygmy puff and also she didn't really want to right now. "I don't really get it." Why would anyone want instant ... darkness powder (...? she squinted) anyway?

Kyoya was out and about after visiting his brother's workplace. As much as he likes the dark and old interior of the Ministry of Magic, he doesn't really want to stay because everything felt so serious, not that his 14-year-old brain can process, but he just didn't like being in there. He found himself saying goodbye to his brother faster than the blink of an eye and into Diagon Alley, where he sorted himself through all of the shops before finally settling in, entering one.
Kyoya doesn't have anything he likes in particular in this shop, but he remembers his sister specifically told him to buy her something at the Weasley shop. But of course, she didn't tell him what, which makes his journey today extra harder than usual. What do girls her age like? Or at least from what he knows of her? "A pogo stick perhaps?" He thought to himself as his fingertips graze on the items around the shelf. He walked a few more times around the corners, his eyes searching the highs and lows of the inventory. Shelves filled with every rare item that you can think of. He stopped and laid eyes on one of those love potions. His hand taking one on instinct and stared at it for a while, mesmerized by the color. "Who would want such a thing?" and "does this really work?" All these thoughts crossed his mind, not that he will use them but he is curious about how it works and how this shop is capable of producing a lot of them.

Well that didn't make much sense. Elio couldn't see how a fluffy little replacement would be anything like having this real original Sophie around. He frowned slightly, and was tempted to point this out. Really very tempted. Because it didn't make sense. But even though it was very tempting to point out this flaw in her logic, something stopped him from saying it, in case it made him seem not-nice.
But that didn't extend to compliments, because that would be straight up lying. Again, Elio was not above lying, but he wouldn't lie in order to lose an argument. So he just said, "Oh." But he did not sound convinced. "Well. Alright."
And !! she apparently didn't get the memo that they ought to be nice to each other, or at least her eyebrows didn't. Nor did her words. And as if to counteract the girl's expression, Elio's own eyebrows dipped into an even deeper frown than before. He regretted, now, humouring the girl and not challenging her on the pygmy puff situation, now that she was trying to challenge him. "Well I do." He did. He did want it. "Because it's useful. You wouldn't understand." And it wasn't like he needed her to understand anyway. Nope. Elio Kaiser was the master of his own destiny, and his destiny was to buy all this stuff that he absolutely both needed and wanted. "I mean. You're the one getting a pygmy puff."
Did he feel bad for sort of accidentally insulting the pygmy puff when his real target was the eyebrow girl? Maybe a lot.

There was absolutely no reason why Evander had ducked behind the display of character balloons as he caught a glance of his brother and sister walking past the shop. He had not thought about the fact that he was tall for his age and his gangly limbs were poking out from his hiding spot making it altogether obvious that he was attempting to conceal himself. Inconspicuous he was not but the thought of being dragged along for supply shopping when he could be testing out Weasleys’ newest stock was u n b e a r a b l e.
Satisfied that the coast was clear for now, the rising second year stepped out from his temporary lookout to wonder over to the stink pellets. He was familiar with this kind of trick, having already bought out the stock at Zonko’s last term for a particularly funny (in his opinion) practical joke with Astrid. The jury was out on how successful it had been but Vander found it hilarious anyway.
A lack of creativity on his behalf meant that the Gryffindor was planning on using the stink pellets again. What he hadn’t planned for was knocking the entire display on the floor as he ducked from what he thought was his brother entering the shop only to discover that it most certainly wasn’t as this kid had a grin plastered on his face. A grin that would most likely dissipate as the smell from the now opened stink pellets radiated out from Vander’s mess.

This was the last place Miss Caroline Grahn wanted to be but it was exactly that fact that caused her to be here in the first place. You see, the jokeshop was far from anything civilized in her eyes, promoting childish tricks and cheap laughs. Simply, she found the entire thing disgusting. However, it was precisely those feelings that made it the ideal hiding spot. A family friend, Charles, had been spotted in the alley and Caroline had PROMISED to be nicer to them but she couldn't think of a single nice thing to say, instead harboring a slew of comments and words on the tip of her tongue. In order to keep that promise, she simply had to avoid and outlast them until they gave up their search. Hence, the perfect hiding spot.
The rising second year Slytherin headed toward the back of the shop for fear of being spotted from the windows. In her hurry, she failed to be fast enough to shout at the idiot boy who knocked the stink pellet display over. The clear disgust and discomfort on her features displaying her feelings about the shop instantly deepened as the stench hit her nostrils. She lost all composure, spluttering, coughing, and fighting the urge to vomit instead.

The Gryffindor whipped his head around to spot the (overdramatic) classmate retching over the smell. It took him a good few seconds of silence to process what she had said before the twelve year old erupted into a fit of laughter. “It’s not my fault, they should’ve been packaged better” he snorted, subtly kicking the offending box under the display in the hopes it may dissipate the aroma. His intentions, on this occasion anyway, were perfectly clear and he had not meant to cause such a scene when he was supposed to be hiding.

This was EXACTLY why she didn't come in here. She couldn't possibly fathom why anyone would want to smell such things or why they'd be simple minded enough to use cheap tricks and nasty smells when there were so many fun jinxes and hexes to play with instead.

She was being a TAD bit dramatic didn’t she think?
The twelve-year-old wasn’t usually one to make social commentaries on the differences between boys and girls at their age considering he very much HAD friends who were FEMALE and FUN but some girls really needed to inject some colour in their lives and not be stuck up their own butts. Some brothers needed to think about that too..
“The shelves shouldn’t be so close to each other” he shrugged, defending his clumsiness as entirely not his fault and rather a design flaw of the narrow shop. “And boring unfun people should be in boring unfun shops like Flourish and Botts.” So really this was HER fault for deciding a joke shop was an appropriate place for her to be. It wasn’t like he asked for stink bombs to be sold at Weasley’s just for him. He WISHED that he had that kind of influence, perhaps he should ask his Grandad about that..
..on second thoughts absolutely not.
Also yes, he was most definitely laughing at the predicament. The ridiculous and largely un-insulting name of which he was sure he’d heard worse was FUNNY to the boy with thick skin.

His siblings... sisters, in fact, loved getting surprise gifts from him and part of his tradition was getting them something for the new school year. Their dads always showered them with gifts, so he naturally continued that pattern. Something from their big brother, cause he cared.
Anyways, he was browsing the aisles before eyeing the toy section... Were they too old for toys now? Thena was nearly 16, and Hermy was 14. Decisions, decisions.

Rose walked into the WWW shop with the intent to browse, but not necessarily to buy to pass the time before she was supposed to meet her mother and sister for food. Her younger sister who was nearly 6 years old were on and on about wanting a new stuffed toy. So maybe Rose could get her an enchanted stuffed unicorn or something as a gift before going away to Hoggies again in September?
Rose made her way past the e-ditchables aisle, eying the puking pastilles and nosebleed nougats for a little too long before thinking better thoughts. Coming up to the toy section she wasn't the only one there. Stepping up beside a boy about her age she asked as she eyed the toy aisle. "Hi! Got any idea where the enchanted stuffed toy's are?"

Oh, but first, manners. Offering their hand out, "I'm Dionysus, but everyone calls me Dio. What's your name?" They seemed nice enough, "Are you shopping for yourself or do you have siblings too?" Maybe that was a lot of questions, but he was a curious claw, after all.

Rose's eyes traveled along the shelves almost mimicking the motion of the boy next to her without even knowing she did it. No toys in clear sight. Turning her gaze to look at the boy as he spoke to her, taking in his features. He looked slightly older in age, maybe by one or two years at most. "Sure, four eyes are better than two when searching for something." Rose agreed with a small smile pursing her lips. "I'm trying to find an enchanted toy for a younger sister too. She is 7 years, and unhappy that I soon will be going off to Hogwarts again without her."
Yes, manners Rose. Shaking the boy's offered hand gently she smiled brightly. "It's a pleasure to meet you Dio! I'm Rose. I have no nicknames that I know of." At least at present, unless you counted Rosie that her mum used when she was frustrated with her. "I have one younger sibling, a sister. How many siblings do you have Dio?"
