Noltie's Botanical Novelties is a peculiar little shop which looks as though humanity has abandoned it entirely and nature is trying its best to take over. While the storefront is similar in appearance to the stores on either side, tendrils of plants have broken through and weaved in and out of the brickwork and there are strange and beautiful flowers seemingly growing right out of the mortar.
Inside the store its generally humid like a greenhouse and it smells fresh and loamy - definitely heaven for anyone with the proverbial green thumb. The plants are organised by their geographic origins, and as you approach certain areas you might notice temperature changes and weather charms expertly in place to best serve the plants in question.
Noltie's prides itself on acquiring and stocking only the best magical and mundane herbology supplies. Even those plants which are not on the permanent inventory can be acquired on request, so too can almost any non-magical plant, for a price. Nothing illegal is stocked here. Noltie's will not sell dangerous plants to minors, or anything that requires a license without the appropriate paperwork, everything in this store is above board, though we have heard there is a shop in Knockturn Alley that takes care of that sort of thing...

"That he does. They were always together until my boy went off to Hogwarts." Inseparable her babies had been. Amara smiled warmly. "So far things have been going well. I really believe a fresh start is what we needed." Completely starting over here was proving to be good so far. The kids were excelling in their studies, she had a job she loved and she was meeting new people. "I may just have a better look around.. and not because I don't trust you with this.. simply because it's lovely in here." So many different plants!
"Indeed. People change sometimes and with that.. we needed to go our own ways." It was sad but true. Life went on though and as it did it opened up new opportunities for her and the kids. "He's still in Romania but he helps the best he can from there. The children can visit him during their breaks if they choose to." If her ex-husband was anything at all, he was a great father. Nod nod. "Someday's it seems like yesterday, other days it seems much much longer."

Dexter could understand how important it was for siblings to grow up close. He and his younger brother… well, they weren’t close but they were there for each other when needed. Alejandro would, of course, have a spot in his heart. “Sometimes, that’s all that’s needed to make the best life for yourself.” He was sure this would be true for himself whenever he was ready to make any changes in his life. For now, he was content. “No offense would be taken even if you didn’t trust me,’’ Dex remarked with a winning smile. “You can go ahead whenever you’re ready.”
That was a sentiment that he could agree on. After all, he had had a few persons in his life whom he had parted ways with for the same reason. “Exactly. And it makes no sense to dwell on it, to wonder why things didn’t work out. It’s best to process and move on.” Both were important. “It’s nice that he still has a part in the children’s life. The kids must be happy about that.” But Dex had more pressing matters to get to. “Would you be interested in going on a date with me?” Was he forward? Absolutely.

With this, Amara would always agree. The way that her children always counted on one another, the way they spent time together and helped each other, it truly warmed her heart. Having siblings was something special, she would know since she had two sisters herself. It was one of the reasons she wanted to have a more than one child, so her babies would always have someone to be around and grow up with. "It really is. Maybe I didn't need to make such a huge change moving is so far away from home but.. it really has been eye opening and I'm enjoying it so far." There was nothing wrong with change. "Thank you. I'm not one to hurt others feelings but I do believe in honesty and trusting others unless they give a reason not to be trusted." So far, this handsome man standing before her had been nothing but helpful and kind. "I think I will continue having a look around.. would you care to join me?" Perhaps they could continue their chat.
Sad when it happened but it had been for the best for her and her ex. "Mm', now I would love to say that had been the case. I must admit I did dwell on things for a bit but then I picked myself up and moved forward." Not only for herself but her children. They had needed her then and they need her now. To her, that was what being a mum was all about. "I can't agree more. If nothing else at all comes from things with their father, if he's there for them then I'm happy." No complaints will ever be made if her ex continued to do his part as their parent. But what was this now? Amara couldn't deny that she was very much caught off guard by the directness of the question. Did her face show as much? Probably. Though not as much as how flattered she was by it. Don't mind her gently reddened cheeks! "I would. I think it would be really nice." There was nothing with pure direct honesty. Especially in this manner. Mara really did want to get to know Dexter more.

“Perhaps not but many changes are good.” As evidenced by what Amara herself just said. He had found moving to the United Kingdom to be a happy change since he had landed the best job in his field of Herbology. Dexter had never looked back and he intended on only continuing to look forward. “I like your reasoning, and couldn’t agree more. It’s best to put a stop to any sort of betrayal the moment you catch wind of it.” That way, there would hopefully not be any room for receiving any more hurt. Oh? She wanted him to join her? There was only one correct answer to that question. “I would like that.” His casual response was certainly covering up his eagerness.
“That’s natural.’’ It may be best to dwell on negatives but that didn’t mean that one still didn’t often think about them. It couldn’t be helped. “It seems, from what little I know about you, you’ve made great strides in moving forward.’’ Dexter wasn’t much more interested in hearing about Amara’s ex. He was much more interested in the surprise that registered on her face; it was quite satisfying to see. And so was the blushing. “Excellent! If you’re not too busy, perhaps we can have it now?” Directness and honesty… he liked that on her part too.

She smiled softly, nodding in agreement. "Change can be what helps us grow." And grow she was. The move had done so many wonderful things for her little family. The children as well as herself were truly happy again. Or so she believed, as neither of the kids really complained about the move. Sure they missed home, she knew she did but this was what they had all needed. "Exactly. It's perfectly okay to admit when things are no longer going well or... Whatever the issue may be that needs fixing or a complete change." Sometimes there was no fixing that could be done and going separate ways was the best thing. Indeed she did. If he really knew as much about plants as she suspected he did, his insight on what she was looking for good prove largely useful. Not to mention, he was nice to talk to.
"I'm doing the best that I can." There had been ups and down in the beginning but she was proud to say that she was having more great days than bad ones. That was alright, she didn't fancy talking much more about him either. Hey, it wasn't her fault the question had caught her off guard! Amara had entered the shop for plants for her home, not to leave with a date! Annnnnd cue another brief moment of surprise! "Now? As in right this moment?" Now that was certainly a new one for her! "Well ummm... My goal this afternoon was to aquire some plants to brighten up my home buuuuuuut other than that I'm completely free." So yes, now would be alright with her.

It was rather nice to know that they were on the same page; it meant that they had something in common. Which, if you asked Dexter, was an excellent way for them to bond as they had had while conversing the topic. “The important thing now is that you and those kids of yours continue focusing on the present and future. Only look back at the past if necessary.” Again, this was coming from his own experiences. The sentiments had served him rather well.
Well, this was the good sort of being caught off guard, yes? That was how Dexter rolled; he saw something - or in this case, someone - and he did not hesitate to go after it - her. “Preferably now,’’ he remarked cheerfully. “But that’s fine with me. Getting plants for the home is very important. Come, I’ll advise you on some others that will be best.” Dex beckoned Amara. He knew a host of perfect houseplants types. All that was left to do was to see if the shop carried them.
