Placement for the Ministry of Magic RPG is now closed. Jobs and assigned departments are in the process of being sent out now. We plan to re-open the MoM on or about Thursday of this week, so stay tuned for further details!

The placement questionnaire can be found here and will be open until Monday, October 15th. It would be a great idea to read the MoM RPG Rules/FAQ before completing your application (it's not that long!). We've added a guide to help you complete the quiz, as well as an example of a correctly filled out quiz.
NEW FEATURE!!! Well, fairly new. To see which positions are currently available in the MoM, visit our Job Postings Thread. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean these are the ONLY positions we have available for you. We've been known to create jobs before based on awesome applications we've received.
Once you've filled out your application, you can visit Ministry Mingling for more information. Placement is a lengthy process for the MoM Staff, so please do put on your patient pants after submitting your application. Your application will literally go through the "hands" of SEVERAL Ministry staffers for consideration and this type of process takes time. It may be UP TO 2 weeks before you hear back from us. We're a thorough lot when finding the right job for you.
Who can take the Ministry Placement Questionnaire?
Members! All members can apply. You need only to get your ten legitimate posts first. No RPG experience required.
If you are not currently a member of the Ministry of Magic and would like to be - YOU may apply now!
If you ARE currently a Ministry employee, but wish to change characters - simply retake the questionnaire using your new character.
If you wish to have your current character considered for another job, a promotion, or another department - you may also take the quiz! Just use question 3 for letting us know what your wishes are. We cannot and will not make guarantees, of course, but we will review your character and their job and see what we can offer. Note that promotions will typically come In-Character from your Department Head with character longevity and reliability.
An example of a correctly filled out quiz can be found here. Again, it's just an example. You're free to use it as a guide when filling out your quiz.
All parts of the questionnaire should be filled out in-character (as your character, not as you). There is only ONE question that should be filled out from an OOC perspective, and that's the last question on the quiz.
Question 14 asks for a letter of reference. Feel free to ask someone on the site to create one for you (only if their character knows your character) or you can create one of your own. Most members create their own.
The more information that you supply on the application, the better we are able to place your character. Take your time and fill it out thoroughly! The longer the application, the better.
Please fill out the entire application! Don't skip questions! If you must skip a question, then tell us why in the Additional Comments.
Please note that questions seventeen and eighteen DO ask you about your placement preferences, but they are NO GUARANTEE you'll be placed or not placed in a particular department. These are just used as guidance when finding the right department for you.
After Placement:
The only way to change your MoM character is to retake the placement questionnaire when placement time rolls around. So before you fill out your application, you need to think carefully about the character you'd like to play, because you won't be able to change again until another placement opens. The Ministry Placement fits very specific jobs (that are assigned by the MoM staff individually with much care and thought) to your specific character. So, you can't just up and change characters and keep the same job.

Ho, ho, ho, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
...and no, we haven't gotten our months all mixed up. It's Christmas time here in the SS RPGs! October 1, 2012 begins the month of December in our RPGs, and so we've decided to try something a little different this go round.
We're giving YOU, our current MoM employees, a little IC holiday break. During the time placement is open, we'll celebrate Christmas in the RPGs. Because of this, the MoM RPG will be CLOSED from now until Monday, October 15. This means that you won't be able to access any of the forums during that time period. We'll post more information closer to the time of our re-opening.
In the meantime, why don't you pay TerrorTours a little visit and send you and yours on a much-needed holiday vacation!

Just a friendly reminder that you need to fill out the entire quiz in order for us to properly fit you into the best department for your character. We're getting a good many apps with entire sections or important questions not filled out, and we really need you guys to answer all the questions.

You should fill out the placement and join the MoM because its an awesome place and currently there is a weird disease around that has resulted in a number of drooling zombies camping out in the food court.
Zombies should be enough of a reason to join, maybe your new ministry employee could be the one who figures out why people have turned into zombies..
Plus there is lots of interesting characters to meet.
