SnitchSeeker's Spoiler Policy: MUST READ!!

Everyone who comes to post on our site MUST READ this Spoiler policy before posting or risk being tarred and feathered then, drawn and quartered.

SnitchSeeker.com has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy when it comes to spoilers. We don't want them here for our members and guests to stumble upon and ruin the book for them. Spoilers are not allowed anywhere on the site until after the book is released and even then, they will ONLY be allowed in a special, password protected, spoiler forum, specifically set up for discussion ofHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

ANYONE who posts spoilers of ANY kind will be given an infraction and immediately suspended from the site for 30 days. NO EXCEPTIONS!!

If you are posting a link to spoilers you will be subject to the same punishment, regardless of how many warnings you give in your post that the link is to spoilers (I've accidentally clicked on links when going from window-to-window often enough to know that warnings aren't always enough). There is NO reason to be posting that crap here, anyway. If you know a link and want to share, ask people FIRST, and then send them a PM. However, do NOT send unsolicited PMs or you WILL be punished!

If you are posting threads to be moderated with spoilers you will be subject to the same punishment as someone whose post shows up right away on the forums.

If you are found PMing members spoilers you will be BANNED. There is no doubt in my mind that anyone PMing members spoilers is only out to make trouble and I will not tolerate it.

For those afraid of being spoiled: The mods and admins at SnitchSeeker do their very best to eliminate spoilers from the forums, however we cannot be held responsible for the content of our members' posts. If you are afraid of being spoiled, I suggest you turn off email notification of PMs and forum posts as well as avoid your PMs or even the forums until after you've read the book. You may also want to avoid the internet in general if you are incredibly paranoid. The spoilers are out there so, complete avoidance is the only way to 100% ensure that you won't be spoiled.

Also note that the Flourish & Blotts forum has been temporarily closed for discussions in order to prevent overly excited members from posting spoilers in their discussions of the books. The Fan Clubs will also be closed for the same reason. We will let you know when these forums are back up for posting. Thank you so much for your understanding and I hope you enjoy your new book! :)

Edit: Madam Malkins, Grimmauld Place and the Diagon Alley forums have also been closed down for this reason.

Dumbledore edit: As an extra precaution I have now disabled registering until after the book is released. I hope this helps.

Can't wait for DH! I'm banning myself from the internet from the 21st until I get the book, even with spoiler bans...because there's always someone on the internet, even not on a HP site, who will blurt out spoilers. :shifty: But I do appreciate the spoiler ban policy. :)

Les Mots 07-18-2007 02:49 PM

Thank you so much for these rules. :glomp: I don't want anything to spoil the book for me!

Blackened 07-18-2007 02:50 PM

Arg, spoilers are evil. I already saw something I shouldn't on another site, and yeah, -is paranoid-

Hopefully there won't be further leaks. DH deserves to be enjoyed 100 %.

Cristygen 07-18-2007 02:57 PM

Thanks for posting this, Kris. I generally don't mind spoiler, but for something this big, I don't want them. I'm not that paranoid, but at least I'm a little safer here.

Samia 07-18-2007 03:03 PM

Oh yeah!! so glad about this spoiler rules...!! Iwas banning myslef form net as well..!! Thank-you somuch guyss!! :glomp:

Dasha 07-18-2007 03:04 PM

I dont mind spoilers personally they get me more exitd about reading the WHOLE book. But i think this time its better without them, thanks...

Makani 07-18-2007 03:08 PM

Already people are trying to say they know the ending to the book and whatnot. Like I do every year, I'm taking my computer completely apart the minute the book comes out and only when I have finished it will I reassemble it. No temptations there, and I finish the book quicker.

Crayola 07-18-2007 03:08 PM

Thank you so much for these rules. I'll ban myself from Internet untill I finish reading the book but it's really good to know our mods and admins care about our "spoiler safety"! :)
Thank you again :glomp:

Waterloo 07-18-2007 03:13 PM

I think it's good that you are being so strict.. this is the last book and it would be horrible if spoilers ruin it for some people. -kicks spoilers-
I think I'll be staying away from the internet until I've read it, but I look forward to coming back for discussion :P

cutiepie0319 07-18-2007 03:15 PM

well said. i hope people don't post spoilers but there is always that one person so hopefully they won't do anything stupid.

Sweet.Nightmare 07-18-2007 03:17 PM

Thank you soooo much! I've kind of banned myself from the internet. I want to read the book on the 21st of July, not before.

D.A Forever 07-18-2007 03:20 PM

*Glues the rules to everyone's foreheads Just to be sure*
Thaaaaankyou ^_^.
I wont be on, not until I finish that boook.

druidflower 07-18-2007 03:25 PM

I blame myself entirely if I spoil the book for myself, but that's because I'm a nosy little brat and I know better than to go looking around, but I have absolutely NO discipline.

Well done for setting up these rules! I agree completely and I'm very impressed that you're taking such a serious stance. I think those who try so hard not to spoil the book for themselves (those would be better people than myself) should be rewarded with the pleasure of reading the book without knowing what's going to happen. And people like me who just can't help themselves should atleast be decent enough to keep their yaps shut.

Good on you, and good on them!

Loki 07-18-2007 03:36 PM

Thanks for that rules. I know how spoiler can run everything since I've been in that situation and a friend spoiled for me the end of a book. So I know how sad it is to read or hear spoiler before even reading the book. So thanks again :glomp:

Singularity 07-18-2007 03:39 PM

Good rules. I'd hate for it to be spoiled for everyone.

chrisd2000 07-18-2007 03:46 PM

Another Harry Potter site I belonged to is doing the same thing, but they closed the forums down starting today until 7/23 to keep people from spoiling the book.

I agree with the spoiler policy here and hpfzforums.com.

Padie 07-18-2007 03:57 PM

Aye, captain! No spoiling for anyone ^_^

Mrs Felton 07-18-2007 03:59 PM

Thank you so much for the spoiler ban!!

hermyone11 07-18-2007 04:02 PM

I'm staying off the internet beginning the 20th. Honestly, my fear is that at the book release someone will flip to the back page and shout out the end. I'm thinking about bringing earplugs/singing loudly when they start passing out books. :D

bitsyandtank 07-18-2007 04:06 PM

:glomp: Thank you!! I'm still trying to decide if I'm even going to get online until after I finish DH.

XxRockStarxX 07-18-2007 04:06 PM

Thanks so much for these rules! I would hate to spoiled! ^_^

Fallon Chanel 07-18-2007 04:15 PM

I'm gonna miss the FC's, but I cant wait for the book! *dances*

argentinaz_angel 07-18-2007 04:35 PM

Psht, I'll be reading day and night after I get the book, I shouldn't worry  I think the strict policy is great though, people should respect the idea to keep secrets :shifty:

Nienna 07-18-2007 04:42 PM

Thank you, Kris. These spoilers want to ruin the surprise <.< And we don't want to be spoiled, do we? DO WE?!

Awesome new rules ^^
