Server Move Complete! (UPDATED) The server change has been completed and was a success! It may not have been completely seamless but, the transition did go smoothly. Thank you everyone for your patience. I know some of you experienced some weirdness with the snafu last night but, everything has been corrected and we are now on the new server. We may experience some slowness for the first 72 hours or so until the DNS change is complete (some people will still be connecting to the site via the old server until their ISPs update to the new IP). However, I think the new server is running quite smoothly even despite this small glitch. Thanks again! UPDATE: There is another small glitch I need to point out. Some of you may be noticing that your posts are mysteriously being placed ahead of the previous post. This is just the residual effects of the server switch because SnitchSeeker is currently running from two different servers accessing the same database. Instead of making it so that only some people could access the site for the 72 hours it takes for a DNS change to propagate the web we opted to link both servers to the database. Since the servers' times aren't exactly the same it can cause some weirdness with posting. But, this should all go away within the next couple days. :) |

Thanks for all the love guys! :) Even though some of you won't see the new server until tomorrow (or even Tuesday if yours is last to update) you should notice improved page loads because the database is on the new server, which takes huge chunk of the load from the old one. For those of you who see the Brown banner on top (instead of sorting) you are on the new server and will hopefully notice a major boost in speed! |

I'm so happy everything went so well! I just came back after a three day trip and wasn't sure if I would be able to log on or not, what a pleasant surprise that the site has been up and running all this time and was only shut down for a short time. Great job!!! |
