I don’t think it’s so much the professors brushing it off so much as not wanting to incite panic. (At least with Malachi). They’re not muggles and they don’t think the students should be freaking out every time something seems off. They’re not entirely defenseless and shouldn’t be so quick to write things off as impossible or too dangerous to continue they’re education school is meant to prepare them for the wider magical world that is full of just about anything and with the talk being of storms, battening down wouldn’t be difficult, nor would sending them home. This is to encourage people to play characters they are really inspired to play and do so for as long as possible rather than place a character and then change them out the next placement - myself and department heads spend a lot of time going over applications and fitting people into positions, so this is also to respect our time and energy. Case by case basis does occur from time to time on this subject and I would rather people play characters they are inspired to play so that they are enthusiastic about the Ministry RPG So, Laila, shoot me a PM (or whatsapp me) and we can talk logistics in your case
