Welcome to the Extendable Ear!

We've all done it, we've all had that moment where we peruse the RP threads and come across something that is SO funny it makes you spit water at the screen and have to come up with hasty excuses for laughing at your computer. This is the place where those witty little quips, quotes and snippets can be posted for the enjoyment of others! Share the love and the lulz!

Formerly known as Quotable Quips, a place in SS Hogwarts Haven made just for keeping the events/posts that are just too good to lose. There are a few changes to how this thread works starting 2012! Firstly, it will be a per-term thread. Secondly you are not to post your OWN snippets as that is not in the spirit of the RP!
Please remember to abide by the following guidelines or your posts may be deleted.

1. All quotes must come from the School RPG. In the case of students being RPed outside the School RPG, they can still be quoted, just so long as it is the student/school characters. No KA, DA, MoM character quotations here, please.

2. Post only quotes. Comments can be submitted in the chat thread or via private message/visitor messages.

3.Please don't post your OWN character's quotes here. The point is to share some funnies and some love that others come up with. You can include your own character for context but the focus should be on someone ELSE being funny. After all, if you post something funny, someone else can pop it here!

4. In the event that something memorable occurs and it is either a large body of text (more than 6/7 sentences) or a collaboration of multiple posts by multiple people, then please submit it under a textcut or spoiler (you do them the same way!).

LULZ. This is a funny provided by our very own ^ Haven moderator, Tegz. :evil:

The backstory: Professor Schirmer babysat rescued Professor Scabior's lost son and took him out for ice cream and fell in love with his cuteness and innocence and was horrified to find out that it was her enemy's child and then incensed to realize that he was trying to PAY HER for taking his son out for ice cream.

SO. Her reaction is gold. :D

"Its two words." She repeated gently. "Any time, Kyroh. But be a good boy and don't run away from your father any more." Even though, now she KNEW who his father was, she UNDERBLOODYSTOOD.

Sigh. She looked up at Dash, her eyes still SPARKING, though she wasn't about to EXPLODE in irritation anymore.
She DID glare at August though. HE BETTER NOT TRY TO PAY HER BACK FOR ICE CREAM OR TELL ANYONE ABOUT THIS EVER.

His face went a nice shade of red and he gritted his teeth as he turned to look at his SO CALLED FRIEND. "I am going to kill you for that!"

"Hello," he turned toward the woman beside him, who was unfortunately not sitting on his other side. Had she been to his right, she could have functioned as some sort of human shield... but alas.....

WHOA WAIT. Will did a double take. Was that....? No, it couldn't be. "Thea?" he muttered in surprise. "Well I'll be!"

Willy shot his friend a glare, and upon seeing him laughing, realized that he had INDEED been the cause of this mishap!!



Will looked up from his stained pants (he'd even worn KHAKIS for once, not jeans! KHAKIS! OLIVER!) with a sigh, nodding toward the Arithmancy woman. She had looked familiar at first glance, and now he was starting to remember her. There weren't that many Hadleys, after all.

"Hello, Josephina," he met her eyes briefly. "I'm...." sigh, "William Walter Williamson. Care of Magical Creatures." Of course.



Will thought he might have seen a flash of smile from Thea but it was gone just as soon as it had appeared, and she was back to being her usual... disapproving self.

"Yep. Are you... charms?" That wouldn't surprise him, though Althea had always been of the 'I'm awesome at everything and you and I both know it' attitude. He sighed again and accepted her napkin, seeing as his was soaked through and through already.

Oh, hello, you know, no big deal, just... wiping orange crap off my pants. Sup. Will rolled his eyes inwardly but nodded at the new arrival's hand. His were rather occupied and sticky at the moment so... no offense, Ed, but he wasn't going to shake it.

"William Williamson, Care of Magical Creatures. Nice to meet you....... Ed?"



Ohhhh no and now Cece was here. Perfect timing. Will started blushing almost immediately, his face turning a lovely shade just a few tones darker than the color of his juice-stained lap.

"Yeah I'm....really considering it..." he mumbled as she walked on by, rubbing at the stain on his pants with a renewed enthusiasm. Must. Fix. Horror!!



Hecate. Of course she had to comment when Will had a lapful of PUMPKIN JUICE.

"Gee, thanks for the suggestion," he remarked sarcastically, rolling his eyes and everything. "I'll keep your advice in mind." NOT.

This happened at the viewing area of the first Gobstone Match of the term. Gryffindor vs Slytherin. Bunches of Hufflepuffs were there to watch it, including Alyssa. Professor Bentley was also there. They had a brief conversation:

Smiling politely she bowed her head slightly. It wasn't as if they were seated in the stands, and considering she was in a conversation with Oakey... how Alyssa thought she couldn't be overheard in such close proximity was beyond her. She wasn't deaf after all.
