Not sure of the rules? Need a hand figuring out what you are and are not allowed to do? After you take a look at the Diagon Alley rules thread, and the SS Site rules, if you still have questions about the Diagon Alley RPG, please feel free to ask them here and one of the Diagon Alley Shopkeepers or an RP moderator will answer it as soon as possible.

1. DA positions are not posted nor can they be applied for at this time. They work about the same way as becoming a Prefect or Captain in the school RPG, meaning the head of Diagon Alley (Con_Stripes) hand picks members whom fit the role based on activity, helpfulness, ect.

If you'd like to be considered for a position in the future, I'd say just make sure to be active (not only in DA, but the School and/or Ministry too!), helpful and most importantly - Have FUN!

2. That would be the head of Diagon Alley, Con_Stripes.

Hey, I'm not sure if someone asked his already, (oh gosh, do I feel stupid) but the wand quiz in Ollies, how do we get the result? If it's via forum, are we alerted????

Hi. Ollivanders isn't my shop, but I can answer your question. Once you've taken the wand quiz, you post here (which I see you've already done), and once the shopkeeper can process the quiz, and get around to helping you, you should find out the result. In an RP fashion, at least. So I'd say just keep checking the thread.

I was just sorted and I am confused about the wands. When we go to the wand shop do we just start to RP for our character? Do we have a quiz in order to receive a wand or do they randomly choose one for us?

Here is the starter thread for Ollivanders. Read through it and you'll get all the info you need. As you can see, we don't do the quiz anymore; you just go in and start RPing (but not in the thread I linked you to).

This may seem like a simple question but I haven't seen it asked or addressed. Can we rp in two places at once? Like Chisato is currently waiting to be served in Olivanders, can I rp her getting her other supplies while I wait?

Absolutely! That, my dear, is called "cloning" ... We're not gonna keep track though and be like "Oh so-and-so is magically in two places at once" ... Naw, so long as you can keep track of where you've "dropped your character off to play" you can RP in as many places you like. Might help to also keep a personal timeline in addition to the general monthly one going too... YOU know, so you can know which shop or person your character visited in what order, type thing?

first, make sure that you have uploaded the picture to your own server/account like on photobucket

what do you mean by "we don't do the quiz anymore". Does that mean it has stopped completely or just not available at this time. I was hoping to take the quiz for my wand and then get sorted for the next Hogwarts term.

Its not available at this time since its only done between school terms. And unfortunately you would also have to wait to be sorted since its also done only between terms and the term just started the 1st of January

I will add to this, as far as the wand quiz goes:

You MUST be sorted in order to access the quiz, just as with the sorting quiz you can only access it if you are not sorted. Furthermore, we are currently editing the quiz and intend to revamp it a bit as it has remained unchanged for several years now (real time years

).

However, if you go to Ollivanders to RP, and play with the shopkeepers there, sharing some of your character's personality and traits etc, they'll be more than happy to find you a fitting wand. You can even PM Roselyn (shopkeeper) or The1HBIC (assistant) if you wish to arrange something out of character.

Yep, just pretend she's earned money; It's entirely up to you how much that may be, or how much they have or will have in their ~~savings~~ Vault.

As for your second question I could be wrong, but I don't think it was ever mentioned (even briefly) in the books how much a Healer earns

but that's a very good question! I tried to research it, and nothing came up. So my best suggestion would be to either decide that for yourself, come up with what YOU feel is a good and reasonable amount for a Healer, or perhaps if possible do a bit of research on how much a doctor/nurse makes and base it off that?

And yes, sorting before wand quiz is correct!

Just a question. Is there a limit to an amount of money we spend (for example we can only spend 100 galleons? Or can we just buy and buy to our heart's desire?

Edit: This is for buying in all the shops in general. Not just in one shop only.

This is a common question, but still a very good one!

The answer really relates to your character, where or not they come from a family that is willing to allow a first year to be spending 100 galleons on their own. I believe that even if they were that wealthly it wouldn't be all that likely, however if you had designed your character that way, then go ahead.

Be sure to check out the Gringotts threads, there they have conversions that show you just how much 100G's is in muggle money, to give you an idea of the amount.

To become an employee in the MoM, you'll need to fill out a quiz similar to the quiz you filled out to become a Gryffindor. MoM sorting (placement) isn't open right now, though. We open it for a two week time period the month after school sorting. Since school sorting is going on now, you won't have long to wait!

Not to worry, everyone struggles to understand in the beggining, I know I did.

Basically RP stands for Role Playing, which is where one User posts the actions of their character often coupled with dialogue with the intention of another User, replying with a reactive post.

For Example....

User One:
It was a really hot day and Tim had decided he would go to Floreans for an Ice Cream, however in his hast to get to the store, he tripped on a loose cobble stone as he rused along Diagon Alley.
"Ouch!" Time cried as his knee hit the stoney ground.

then User Two comes along...

As for the Character one, from what I can see you have already come up with a name for your Character, so now you work out what type of person they are going to be, its like writting a story; you pick a name and then add a personality, an appearance, and build on it. Its all up to you, they are no quizs or generators to make the character you play, you just have to use your imagination!

You are allowed to RP your student charrie until the train leaves because technically the child should be on the train

and that is the beginning of the school RP
