Default Review: Ultimate Editions of Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince

Warner Bros recently released Ultimate Collector Editions for Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince - a go-to for any Harry Potter fan. Like their predecessors, which covered films 1-4, these editions provide not only the films, but extra features giving viewers a glimpse into the life of the cast and crew working behind-the-scenes.

Included among the extra features for Order of the Phoenix is a brand new one-hour documentary covering the 10-year span in which the filmmakers brought the wizarding world to life. It's filled with interviews with all of the films' four directors, as well as the principal actors, Dan Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

The Half-Blood Prince edition takes the viewer into a world of green screens and CG (computer generated) images through a special effects featurette spanning all seven films. We get to see the huge real-life water tank used to simulate the Great Lake during the Triwizard Tournament, and everything from the CG owls in Sorcerer's Stone to the scene featuring seven Harrys from Deathy Hallows: Part 1.

The Ultimate Editions also contain some cool collectibles, such as books filled with photos from films 1-7. In the Order of the Phoenix set, fans receive limited edition character cards for Luna Lovegood and Dolores Umbridge, while the Half-Blood Prince edition offers up cards for Albus Dumbledore and Draco Malfoy.

The sets can be purchased via the following, including at the WB Shop.

Order of the Phoenix DVD | Order of the Phoenix Blu-ray
Half-Blood Prince DVD | Half-Blood Prince Blu-ray

I really love the Ultimate editions. I think they are worth it just for the documentaries. They are truly fascinating.
