If you know the password, or where the entrance is from the Secret Passage you can make your way through a portal in the stone wall of the dungeons and walk into the Slytherin common room.
The Slytherin common room is a long, low underground room with stone walls and ceiling, from which round, greenish lamps are hanging on chains. A fire is crackling under an elaborately carved mantelpiece ahead of you. The Slytherin emblem is everywhere you turn, to remind you, in case you forgot where you were.
Portraits of the infamous Salazar Slytherin, Professor Horace Slughorn, Professor Snape, and previous Head of Houses including retired Mr Justin McLeod and recently retired Laurel Vance are aligned. It reminds students of what being a Slytherin means and allows them to share those feelings with others.
This is where the Slytherin students are free to unwind and chat with one another, play games, read book, or just hang out.
Beside each corridor is self inking quill and parchment with the words Attendo Thea Vipera on it.This is where you can leave a little information about yourself so your housemates can get to know you better.
Over the fireplace mantle is where the Slytherin trophies and plaques lay. In center is the Slytherin House Cup from two term's ago win. On the side of the fireplace hangs the Snake News, snake newspaper for announcements and open classes listed, quidditch tryots news and other noteworthy stuff.
The windows showcase the lovely underwater view where you can occasionally see the Giant Squid and other water creatures swim on by and study or do some homework in relative peace.

Patrick walked into the common room following lessons. He was so tired. He was up at the butt crack of morning every day, sitting through classes, and not to mention he was so tired from all of the extra work he had been putting in. He crashed down on the couch and kicked his feet up on the edge of the couch. A deep sigh escaped his lips. It was a never ending vicious cycle at this point. He was just about to crack a book when he fell asleep.
Argyle had barely arrived in the Slytherin Common Room before her feather duster was working. Dust…dust…dust. Dust…dust…dust. Always so much to clean even when it had been cleaned just a few days before. Argyle didn’t mind though. Cleaning helped studenteses. Helped studenteses meant happy studenteses which made a happy Argyle. A win win all around as the duster kept working on the baseboards of the dark room. Swish…swish…swish.
It was still a bit of time before it was curfew as Skylee entered the common room after talking to Professor Fletcher. She was glad thst he loaned his book to her. She means, of course he would. She did not understand why everyone thought he was mean. He wasn't that hard to get along with so as long as you did what you were expected. (She learned that at rhe beginning of the year from her detention with him). She shrugged and aat in a chair. She heard a loud sneeze before she could even start working. Hum?

There was movement coming from one of the chairs and the house-elf grew bashful. Her wide eyes downtrodden and her feather duster stilled and behind her back as if ashamed of being caught. “Sorry Mistress…” Argyle apologized to the young girl the elf noticed once she chanced to look around the chair to see her better. “Argyle didn’t mean to bother Mistress.” Nope, she was just here to clean up the common room just like any other time she cleaned.

Skyler smiled and tried to calm Argyle.
"Hey, hey, it's okay," she said.
"You just startled me a bit. That's all."
She then remembered the sneese.
"Are you okay? Reckon that sneeze wasn't the best thing to happen."
Skyler smiled and tried to calm Argyle.

Argyle tentatively looked up at the calm words from the girl. No anger at Argyle for disturbing her studying. “Argyle not mean to startle mistress.” Another thing she hadn’t meant to do. But even still the girl didn't seem too bad about it.
“Sneeze not bad…sneeze just…sneeze.” Argyle felt okay so it was likely just the kicking up of the dust in her enthusiastic dusting. The duster absently returning to the house elf's side as she shrugged.

It was something of a rare occurrence this term, but Max was actually in a good mood for once. As he left the dormitory and entered the Common Room, however, little did he know that the good mood was going to be short-lived. Hah.
He scanned the Common Room for the best place to do a spot of gobstone polishing and then made a beeline for the comfy seats by the window, drawstring bag clutched in his hand.
....... that's when disaster struck.
Coordination wasn't something he'd been blessed with and klutz should've been his middle name because next thing he knew, he was tripping over his own two feet. The drawstring bag flew from his hand and hit the floor and Max watched in horror as gobstones rolled everywhere. In every direction. Under the sofas, under the armchairs. Everywhere.
And that wasn't even the worst of it. These gobstones were old and prone to malfunctioning so they were basically teeny tiny grenades ready to squirt their foul-smelling liquid on anyone who got too close.

Cameron had simply been sitting by the fireplace, reading, minding his own business as one does. He only stopped once in a while to write something down in the small notebook next to him on the sofa. If anyone had happened to glance at it, they would have easily been able to guess that he was seemingly planning out a vacation. A vacation for two this summer. To Wales. The happy smile on his lips clearly indicated that he was VERY excited about this. He hadn't even been aware of the fact that Max had come down from their dorm, so engrossed was he in his task.
That is until........disaster struck!
With a surprised yelp Cameron looked up and - thanks to his Quidditch player reflexes - quickly pulled up his feet onto the sofa and off the floor to avoid any and all gobstones coming for him. Uh oh."Are you alright?" That seemed to a priority BEFORE devising a plan to pick up the gobstones again without smelling like troll dung afterwards. Cam knelt down on the sofa and looked at Max, holding onto the back of the sofa with both hands.

Skyler smiled a bit and nodded. She decided to let it go.
"Perhaps you could use a wet rag to clean. There would be less dust for you," Skyler offered as she watched the little house elf. She had a soft spot for magical creatures. Much like her older brother.
