| | Slug and Jiggers Office Tucked in near the storeroom, is a warm, small room used as the shopkeeper's office. The room quaint but roomy enough for its purpose. A simple wooden desk and two chairs make up one portion of the space. Several folders are on the floor next to the desk. Everlasting candle are used for light. Old fashion ways for an old fashion man. The left side of the room is where Nigel makes all the potions that are sold. There is always a cauldron boiling over a fire here.
This place is used if a ministry representative stop in, visits from friends and colleagues, and sometimes for more serious business.
This office, along with the storeroom, is private. Anyone caught inside will be asked to leave the shop immediately. Depending on the seriousness of the situation, you could be banned from the shop indefinitely. |

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Nigel knew he had to do it.
He knew he had to finally get around to sending Elinor a note to make plans for their dinner for enough time had already past. Not to mention he was sure even with their relatively short knowledge of working together Dylan would hound him or do something equally annoying until he knew about his hesitance. so one day, he sat down at his desk with a quill and a clean piece of parchment. The man pausing in thought before actually writting.
As the last letter of his name was finished, he relaxed his quill and read the note over. Nigel certainly hoped it was alright and well-received by its intended recepient. The man had picked a time he hoped she'd be available, a time the shop would be closed otherwise he might have unjust cause to worry during their...date. He bit his lip at the thought, swallowing at his use of the four-letter word and carefully folded the note, sealing it before holding it out for the owl to take. With a squack Hesper took off from her perch and flew out of the shop while the shopkeeper sat back with a sigh and ran an absent hand through his hair wondering what type of response he might get.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Nigel had been busy brewing for almost as long as it had been since Elinor had left him in putting together the rest of the potions on her list of those needed. Thankfully he had found a fresh enough sample of polyjuice that would do for the testing, the rest readily on stock. And all that left was the amorentia currently being worked on between simmers. Thankfully there were only a couple more steps and then he could bottle and cork it and be done with it after it was picked up.
There had been a tinkling of the bell outside in the shop but being in the middle of a crucial step, Nigel wasn't able to move to check on things just at the moment. However when a crash was heard, the shopkeeper was taken a back and jostled the frozen ashwinder egg in his grasp enough to send it into the cauldron prematurely. Before he could react, the boiling potion reacted spattering the area including the potioner with the ruined potion. "MERLIN's BEARD!" he yelled with a sigh, his wand quickly in his hand to vanish what he could needing to check on what had happened in the shop. Nigel was relatively clear after the spell however the rest could wait. When he returned he was none to happy about what he had had to fix and the task still left at hand. To try and calm his nerves, he went about brewing himself a cup of tea, setting the tea cup on the work station after taking a sip. He then went to work cleaning the area up, using magic with some and using manpower the rest since one had to be careful of mixing effects.
He didn't notice a glob of potion that had hit the ceiling of the office in the explosion, nor did he notice when said glob fell into his freshly brewed beverage, deluding in the hot liquid in between calming sips. Nigel was too busy trying to rectify the situation and finish cleaning up the mess all over the one area of the office. Stupid charms not working 100% in protecting things. Finally the shopkeeper figured he was done and sat down with a sigh. The love potion was a flop and now he'd have to do it all over again on top of it.
And why was he dealing with all this? Right...Elinor.
Cue loving sigh. His eyes gracing over to the vase of flowers she had left on her earlier visit and he had brought back to his desk for safe keeping. "Dear Elinor..." he mused with a smile, the woman remembering his favorite flower and being kind enough to bring him a bunch of hellebore as well as the flowers she always seemed to smell like. That was a nice smell.

"Dear Elinor..." he mused with a smile, the woman remembering his favorite flower and being kind enough to bring him a bunch of hellebore as well as the flowers she always seemed to smell like. That was a nice smell. Elinor had her fingers crossed that Nigel wasn't mad at her. He seemed a little disgruntled at her request, even though it was easy enough to talk him into filling it. But, really. A Potion's Master can't really be picky, can he? It was his job to supply people with what they needed. And Elinor needed two ounces of Amortenia. So there. She took a breath and felt better.
As Elinor approached the door, she could smell honey. Why did she smell honey? It was fantastic... She opened the door and stepped inside. The shop appeared empty, but it was filled with the most... intoxicating array of scents. She smelled honey and... New books, and something sharp...
Mint chocolate-chip ice cream.
Elinor crossed the shop, which was very quiet and empty, following the smell. Of course! The amortentia. The lady gave her head a firm shake. Powerful stuff, alright. She didn't want to call Nigel away from the side of his cauldron, so she stepped around the counter and towards the back room. "Nigel? I know you've been hard at work, so I thought I'd bring you--"
The woman had one hand in her purse as she stopped mid-sentence. There appeared to have been, uhm... A little spill? "...something to eat." She finally finished her sentence after a moment of shock, pulling out a wrapped-up sandwich and setting it on the desk, where she also rested her purse. "Goodness, what happened?", she asked, finally looking to Nigel, who seemed to be greatly enjoying his tea.

Nigel looked up as the oh so familiar voice of one Elinor danvers broke the silence in the quiet shop and back room. His smile brightening at the sight of the woman, the man lowering the mug back down to his desk before pushing back his chair. "Ah...my dearest Elinor," the apothecary remarked getting to his feet. "So good to see you again." About to step closer, he noticed where her attention lay and followed her gaze with his own. "Oh that....that's nothing." he said waving it all off. There was only light touches here and there of the remnants of what had happened." Just a teeeeny accident but I fixed it." Nigel's normally light skin was beginning to take on and even paler hue. And ever so slight hint as to what was going on, the more physical effect of the potion. "But no matter. You remembered me and brought me a gift of food. How good of you to do so." At this the man did move, his arms wrapping up around the lab head in a hug so unlike him.

She smiled and let out a small giggle at Nigel's apparently... outstanding mood. It was so good to see him happy. Usually, even when he was happy, it was in a very reserved kind of way. "And it's good to see you," she nodded back. Then, again, It was ALWAYS great to see Nigel. "I was afraid you were a little cross at me, but I guess my concerns were for nothing," she admitted. She squinted her eyes slightly. Must've been the lighting in the room that made the potioneer look a little pale. "Of course I remem--" The woman cut herself off as Nigel wrapped his arms around her, her eyes widening in surprise. It took her a second, but she hugged him back. "Of course I remembered you," she finally finished. She would have added the part where there wasn't a second of the day she DIDN'T remember him, but felt it was a little unecessary. "I take it your day has gone well?", she guessed, releasing him from the embrace.

Nigel would have probably looked stricken if he caught himself thinking that way, but it wasn't as if he was fully in control of himself. "Me...cross? Never!" How could be possibly be cross with the dearest, most wonderful, most beautiful woman who deined to grace him with her presence? It was just laughable...unheard of.
He let out a contented sigh as Elinor returned his hug feeling downright all warm and fuzzy from her touch. "It was alright," he admitted as he slowly and reluctantly loosened his hold on her once she released him. "But now oh soooo much better since my love has returned to me." The man smiling brightly as his hands still held her lightly at arms length as if looking her over. "I trust your day has gone well too my dear?"

The man smiling brightly as his hands still held her lightly at arms length as if looking her over. "I trust your day has gone well too my dear?" It hadn't quite hit Elinor that something was wierd. "Well, I'm glad. Besides, I would rather you be cross with me, than have gone somewhere else and... hurt your feelings or something," she explained. Nigel genuinely WAS the best potioneer she knew. She'd have to try to convince the Ministry to list him as an approved supplier/expert. Sometime. For now, she was too focused on the behavior of the man in front of her to linger on the thought.
Nigel didn't seem to want to let go. She took that as a good sign. That wasn't really wierd. Perhaps, in the few hours between visits, he had done some thinking? Yes, that had to be the reasoning behind his elated mood. He had been thinking about their relationship and how he felt about her. That had to be it.
'Oh soooo much better'? 'My love'?
That was wierd. That sent up little red flags that something was going on here. Although the woman kept smiling, entertained and flattered by his behavior, her mind started working away at what had happened. "It was... a day... Yes, I suppose it was a good day. After all, I got to see you. Twice!" Her face reddened again slightly. The way he was looking at her. It made her feel all tingly, feeding into her childish notions of love. "Nigel? What is it?" Her mind was still puzzling away at what might be the cause of his strange behavior. She glanced at his tea. It looked like regular tea to her. Her eyes briefly darted over him, trying to find something out of place...
Hm... She'd figure it out.

Hm... She'd figure it out. Nigel's mind wasn't even on the potions, or the messes he had cleaned up because of his work. Which in and of itself should have been a clue that something was wrong, very wrong. His focus was solely on the woman in the room with him. His eyes staring into Elinor's as he listened to her speak. "Good to hear then," he replied with a chuckle finally letting her go but still remaining close. "Wouldn't want my dearest Elinor to have a bad day." Nigel also wasn't about to let her out of his sight at the moment. Nope, nope, nope. She was off work, and so technically he could be too so why not spend the time together. Him and his love, hanging out during their free time, just like all the other couples.
Well no...not like other couples. Because they were speeecial. "I love the way you say my name..." he got out with a smile as she questioned him. "Nigel..." he repeated to himself before reacting to her second inquiry. "What is what?" Nigel asked, tilting his head as he looked at Elinor, an expression of loss and confusion now upon his paling face.

Nigel asked, tilting his head as he looked at Elinor, an expression of loss and confusion now upon his paling face. His gentle laughter sounded so good. Elinor beamed up at him, absolutely surprised and... okay, happy at the affection he was giving her. She hadn't been in love since her late husband had gone, let alone recieved any kind of loving attention. Wait--wait, Elinor, STOP. Do NOT get carried away.
Something was very wierd here. VERY. Wierd. And not the cute wierd that Nigel was the definition of. This was wierd wierd. "I... love to say your name," she said a little absently, taking another glance around the office. She was curious about the tiny bits of potion that had not been cleaned. She was curious about Nigel's uncensored comments about her. She was curious about his pale face... Did he look a little clammy? She pressed a hand gently to the side of his handsome face. "You are acting ...bizzare. And you seem a little cold... Are you feeling alright?" Her eyebrows raised in concern. She would be lying if she said she didn't like the way he was acting... It was just, as she said, bizzare.
She stared at him a moment or two before letting her hand drop. She reached for the teacup and started to hand it to him. "Why don't you sit and have some..."
Gosh, how much honey did Nigel need in his tea? The smell intensified as she held the cup at her chest. She took a moment to raise it to her nose. This must've been a most peculiar kind of tea. It smelled like honey and...
Mint chocolate-chip ice cream. OH. DEAR. LORD.
The woman froze, her eyes widening, still holding the teacup.

He was happy, Elinor seemed happy and all seemed right in the world. Wouldn't Sebastian be jealous of his lovely lady? No wait....must not let my brother near her. Yeah, that would be better. "Me....Acting bizzare...cold?" he questioned, seeming even more confused. "Nope, I'm fine," Nigel answered, brightening up at the touch of her hand on his face. His hand moving slowly up to cover her own. "Okay more then fine." Oh how he loved her touch. It was just one of the many things he loved about her...his dearest Elinor. The man unable to help the frown as she finally moved her hand away, his face feeling vacant with the loss of it "Alright...I'll sit," he agreed, taking the seat that he had earlier vacated when Elinor had arrived in the shop. "But ...only if you sit with me," the shopkeeper added, pulling her arm and leading her towards him and his lap and chuckling, not paying any attention at all to the woman's focus on his tea cup.
The cup that still held remnants of the ruined love potion.

The cup that still held remnants of the ruined love potion. Nigel was downright giddy.
His insistance that he was fine came to her a little muffled, as her brain spelled out to her what had happened. Nigel made her the amortenia... And he had drank some of it. That's all that was important, hmm? "No... of course you're fine," she said as she put the cup back down. She let out a little involuntary yelp as he tugged her around the desk. She didn't resist, sitting easily in his lap. "You're just... You're just in love," she said with a little shake of her head.
This was too good an opportunity not to pass up. Elinor was going to play along, just a little. She knew it would be her duty to brew the antidote. But if she didn't sieze this moment to see this side of Nigel, it might be her last chance in a long time.
She tossed her hair back out of her face and wrapped one arm around his neck, smiling in disbelief at the situation at hand. "You know that I love you, don't you, Nigel? I love you more than... I love you more than the sun and the moon."
It was cheezy, but it was true! But Elinor found that since Nigel was so very... twitterpated, she wasn't bashful or hesitant about saying it. Plus, she was eager to play with him in this state. Just to see what he would do while there was no one else to see the effects of the... mistake that had been made. "You know I think about you all the time? You know there's no one I want to be with more in the whole world?"

You know there's no one I want to be with more in the whole world?" Nigel looked relieved when Elinor agreed that he was fine which was what he had been trying to assure her. His head straightened up no longer wondering what she was going on about. And her obediant movement to his lap under his guiddance made Nigel more happy, the man nodding at her reasoning. "Yes, I am in love...very much in love with you." It was the first time he had been so loose in his proclaimation of his feelings towards the woman currently sitting with him. "Of course I do, Elinor, just as I love you." he replied, her arm over his shoulder bringing them oh so much closer. " I will always love you," the potions master added with a smile, leaning in to kiss her...first on the cheek. A contented sigh excaping him once more as he pulled away ever so slightly before looking her in the eyes once more. "And I am glad of that my dear Elinor. For you are my wonderful love and to think that I warrant your thoughts is simply...breathtaking." Nigel went once more for a kiss but this time he took a hand and turned her face better towards him before kissing her straight on the lips. Almost as if searching for his breath within her own.

Okay. That was pretty... Okay.
She kissed him back with enthusiasm. He started it! She wasn't obliged to feel wierd about it. Finally, when she had to break the kiss, she figured she would try to get her sentence out before he did anything else. "Nigel, sweetheart, why don't you eat, and, if you'll let me, I'd like to brew you some... some fresh tea," she suggested, slowly moving to stand up, just to see if he would let her. She didn't know the antidote, but it was bound to be writen in Nigel's HUGE GINORMOUS book, wasn't it?

One would just have to wait for the time when he wasn't under the effects of the potion to see his reaction to his own behavior. No doubt completely flustered by the way he was acting. But for now, Nigel Xavier Garrettson was the picture of a love-sick teenager, his attentions completely on Elinor.
His eyes closed as she returned the feeling of the kiss, his hand that had been on her face lightly stroking her skin while their feelings were shared. Nigel pouted as the kiss was broken by Elinor. Sweetheart...that softened the blow. He was her sweetheart. Cue loving puppy-dog look replacing the previous pout. Leaning on his one hand he watched her, listening to her suggestion. "Alright, if you insist," he remarked leaning to move the sandwich closer to him. The action causing him to loosen his hold on Elinor. Nigel realized it and moved to return his arm around her until he heard the offer of tea. "Oh...alright my love. Thank you." Surely he couldn't keep her from fulfilling her offer and being nice to him. Whatever she desired he would do. "But don't take too long my dear Elinor...I'll miss you."

She stared at his loving expression, using all of her will to not squeal out with 'AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW'. He... was... too... cute.
This madness had to be stopped before any other women saw him.
She stroked his hair as she stood, taking this moment to indulge herself in her favorite bad habit. "Don't worry," she said, turning towards the other side of the office, approaching Nigel's huge book of potion information. "I'll be right here," she added absently at the counter.
The page was already open to Amortenia. Just a little ways down the page, crammed in-between stray sentences, was the antidote. She wouldn't even need a fire. The woman grabbed a small cauldron and set it next to the book, throwing back a glance at Nigel.
No, she didn't really want this to end just yet... But it was her duty. He would no doubt thank her.
Turning back to the counter, she withdrew her wand for a moment and filled half the cauldron with water. She wouldn't need much at all. It was lucky for her, Nigel had things labeled. And the ingredients she needed were very common. Excellent.
Dropping a beazor into the water, Elinot figured she should keep him talking before he got too impatient... "This should only take a few minutes, sweet--...pea."
She froze. What was that out of her mouth? 'Sweetpea'? She had never used that-- EVER. Halfay through the word, she even chocked a little. She blinked hard a few times before turning and shooting a smile at him.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna He smiled as Elinor stroked his hair, far more willing of the action then he was when appearing normally. "Alright my love," Nigel replied with a nod as she assured him that she wasn't going to be too far from him. The office was small enought that they weren't too far away from each other. Thank goodness the book she was reading wasn't the grimoire that was outside in the main shop area.
Taking to the lunch that his girlfriend had sooo lovingly gotten for him, the potions master ate the sandwich and leaving the now lukewarm potioned tea. He looked up every once and a while to watch his companion as she worked and moved around as if to assure himself that his beloved was still nearby. Yummy food and beautiful company...yes the day had gotten sooooo much better indeed. Nigel continuing to quietly eat.
Sweet pea...another endearing nickname addressed his way. Oh he was blessed by this oh so wonderful woman. She obviously thought highly of him being so kind and friendly towards him. "Very well my dear Elinor. I shall try to be patient."

| |Who's On First? | Challenge Accepted.| | :Ink For Blood: | Team SUITS!| Elinor chuckled at his enthusiasm. It was refreshing. But it wasn't Nigel.
She stirred the potion as she added in the final couple of ingredients. He couldn't have injested much-- so he wouldn't need to swallow much, right? Elinor had no idea what the antidote tasted like. Hopefully it was barable enough to get him to swallow a mouthful. Shouldn't take much...
She quickly grabbed a clean bottle, a funnel, and a ladle. One thing she always liked was that they were both old-fashioned people. They didn't take out their wands at the drop of a hat. Sticking the funnel in the neck of the bottle, she filled it. "Be right there," she said, again almost absently. She was just focused on getting it to him.
Corking the bottle, she shook it, making SURE it was blended well enough. Sometimes stirring just didn't do the trick. Finally, she crossed back over to him, smiling as she sat just across from the desk. With her free hand, she drew her wand, vanishing the... liquid that was in his teacup. Uncorking the bottle, the lady poured him the concoction. "Try that," she said softly, setting the bottle aside. She stared across at him, anxious and perching on the edge of her chair.
At the same time, she was almost laughing at the thought of what Nigel's reaction would be after he drank the antidote. She could see him now. Quiet, flustered, and, above all else, embarassed. And cute. Always cute.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna It seems the potioner was distracted enough by Elinor for him not to realize that she wasn't actually making tea but something else entirely. Or maybe he was being a good boy and following his beloved's instructions to eat and wait for her. Whatever the case, Nigel was nearly done with his sandwich by the time the Ravenclaw lab tech returned to his side. The muggleborn almost giddy in his reaction to that fact, resting the remnants of his meal back on his desk and swallowing his last bite. "Yes my love..." he replied with a bright smile, obediantly accepting the tea cup from her hand and holding it in both of his own as he took a sip. Nigel's face looked somewhat quizzical as it surely tasted far different then he expected...a little thicker at least. This was tea? "Hmm...interesting. Elinor...what kind of tea is th--" he started to say ready to question the brew curious as to what it was but pausing as a feeling came over him. He closed his eyes as he let go of the cup with one hand and used the other to lower the mug safely down to his desk as he seemed to try and recover himself from something.
Was it working? Would the antidote bring Nigel around to his usual self?

| Not coooooooooooool |Who's On First? | Challenge Accepted.| | :Ink For Blood: | Team SUITS!| For a second, Elinor didn't pay attention to what Nigel had started to ask. She was just staring and waiting. She rested one hand in her lap, the other placed on the table between them. "Uh," she finally said after a few long seconds. She shook herself out of her anticipation, realizing she hadn't thought that far into her little white lie. It shouldn't matter anyhow. "It's completely organic," she said simply, not trying to convince him. There was no time to think about it.
She stole a glance down into the cup to see how much he had sipped. "It'll probably taste better as you get used to it," she quickly suggested. "but you're free to add some sugar to it." She half-gestured to where Nigel had brewed his previous tea, certain that there would be somethiing of a sugery nature over there. If sugar made him drink it, she figured it wouldn't make much difference.
She paused a few moments, watching him as his expression changed. "Nigel?"
She slid back to the edge of her seat, leaning over the table a little. "Sweetpea?" She cracked a little smile, trying to prompt a response from him.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Her answer just barely registered and he hadn't noticed her pause, Nigel simply giving a weak nod in acknowledgement of her words. "Alright," he mused, figuring she was right about needing more then one sip to truly taste how this Organic tea was. He waved off the need for sugar for he normally wasn't one for the use of it in his tea. The potions master took another, larger sip and slowly swallowed as if to allow the taste to be better absorbed and get a feel for it as Elinor had suggested. "Hmm...yes?" he asked still staring off in a distance as if it took too much out of him to returning his thought processes to normal to allow his gaze to move. And then his thoughts were interrupted by Elinor's second inquiry, the woman finally breaking through his fuzzed head. "Sweetpea?" Nigel looked up at Elinor, his eyebrows knitted in confusion. Had she ever called him that or anything similar before? Not that he could remember...but then he couldn't remember much at the moment. Like when had she arrived? Hadn't Elinor been coming after work?

| |Who's On First? | Challenge Accepted.| | :Ink For Blood: | Team SUITS!| She stared forward, unblinking, carefully studying his expression and reaction. Judging by the lack of a silly smile, Nigel was once again himself. Good. Although his lovestruck attitude in the last few moments WAS refreshing and entertaining, it was not Nigel. Elinor smiled, slowly at first, but when he looked up at her in utter confusion, a small bit of lipstick left on his lips from where he kissed her, it was priceless. She restrained a giggle for now. "How do you feel?" Seemed an appropriate question. Elinor had never had Amortenia, or the antidote for that matter. Nor had she studied about it, so she had no idea what afteraffects there might have been. He seemed a little disoriented. She tried not to focus on how cute that was. This is serious. This is no time for girlish indulgences.
She scooted all the way up to the edge of the desk, so the edge was touching her stomach. She figured she was allowed to be anxious for at LEAST another minute. "You alright?" she rephrased after a moment, trying to keep down the concern in her voice, as well as a possible off-handed attitude.
TOO MUCH PRESSURE.
He seemed to be okay... Just fuzzy. But seriousness would be impossible while his lips were stained with her lipstick. She reached over into her purse for a clean cloth without looking. She was too focused on Nigel... as always.

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Nigel wasn't fully aware his expression was any different than it had been just moments before. Or that it had been all goofy and lovestruck and fawning all over Elinor unlike his more reserved expression of feelings towards the woman in front of him. Or did he? He didn't answer at first on Elinor's question as to his feelings, still getting used to whatever it was that was happening to him because of what was in the cup. Let alone trying to put it all into words.
Certainly not tea...that was for sure, his mind clearing from the effects and finally getting his voice back. "I think so," he answered, the man letting his gaze pass over the cauldron that was still set up from his work. Nigel was reminded on what exactly he had been working on last and couldn't help but let out a groan. Of all the things he had to have an accident with...it had to be Amorentia. "Did what I think happen...happen?"
Making the pseudo-tea the anecdote. Oh what had gone on?

| |Who's On First? | Challenge Accepted.| | :Ink For Blood: | Team SUITS!| Elinor nodded slowly when he finally confirmed that he was just fine. Good. She allowed herself to lean back slightly, backing off from her anxious posture. She watched as he looked over to the cauldron and started to put the pieces together. She held back a chuckle at his groan of realization. It wasn't funny...
...Okay, it was funny-- But there was no reason for Nigel to think that she thought it was funny. She finally pulled out a neat, folded cloth from the inside of her purse. "Well... That depends on what you think happened," she hedged, handing him the cloth. With her other hand, she made a half-gesture to her face, trying to communicate that he had something on his lips, but it was too hard not to laugh. Finally, she just resigned to saying, "For your lips" quietly.
She blinked her green eyes across the table at him. Perhaps he needed a little help figuring out what happened, no? "The best I can figure is somehow the Amortenia got into your teacup without you knowing about it." (Implying that Nigel didn't take some on purpose. That would just be silly.) "But it couldn't have been much."

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Nigel raised an eyebrow as Elinor didn't quite answer his question, the fact of which made him somewhat worried about the extent of what had in fact happened. He was about to speak when she handed him a cloth, his curious expression changing to a quizzical one especially as she tried to mime something that he wasn't quite understanding. That was until she finally clarified its purpose, the shopkeeper moving to use the cloth to wipe said lips.
When he looked back over at Elinor, two pairs of green eyes met each other almost starring into each other until one blinked. But then finally there was an answer he could work with...amortenia in his teacup. It all made sense and he gave a look of realization as to how it could have happened. "The blow-up..." he said aloud before even remembering that she would be as clueless to that as he had been just moments before. "Some customer created a whole lot of rukkish out in the shop and I was dealing with frozen ashwinder eggs at the time. The potion reacted and..."
It was self-explainatory after that. He had just thought everything had been cleaned up before he brewed the tea and paid the price for the mistake.
Now for the next phrase of questioning, the part what made Nigel even more nervouse even as he fought to hide it. "Um...how much did you see?" It had to be asked even though the calm potions master was completely sheepish over what had happened...and what had in fact been witnessed.
