Second Floor: Arcade Area

As you continue along the second-floor corridor, you will eventually stumble upon a bust of a medieval wizard who is quietly muttering to himself in Latin. But it is the antechamber near this statue that draws in a lot of students because over the years this spot has been designated as a popular hang-out area. More often than not, those who need a break from schoolwork come here to play an array of indoor wizarding games.

Scattered around this small room are chess boards, decks of Exploding Snap cards, areas for playing Gobstones, and other wizarding games ranging from Snitch Snatcher to Wizard Cracker Pop-It to Wizard Skittles. If none of these games interest you, there is a small table where Runok Ko and Rune Riddle books can be found. Otherwise, you can go check out the suit of armour that stands off to the side -- maybe you will figure out that it is guarding a passage to a secret storeroom -- or, if you feel there's more of the castle for you to explore, take the stairway that leads up to the third floor.

Wondering around the castle finding things to do was quite easy it was a huge castle, but doing something Yami liked was a challenge. Biting his lip he wondered around until his eyes caught a statue, walking he past a medieval wizard muttering Latin to himself, shaking his head in confusion he kept on walking. Seeing a room full of various games, he smiled to himself. "Yes! This is my kind of room!" Thinking to himself he walked over towards chess boards and started playing, maybe the board was charmed if it knew one person was playing who knew. Sitting down he started playing and game of chess, one of his favorite games that he was very skilled in muggle and magical wise.

She would not go to anymore forbidden areas. Of course it was a challenge for Kara who definitely wanted to explore everywhere that Hogwarts had to offer, but she was determined to not cause too much more grief to her house feeling the pangs every time she entered the Great Hall and caught glimpse of the hourglasses. Her mother had assured her that it wasn't a big deal and that was the best way to learn through making mistakes. That it surely would not be her last mistake and that was okay. It definitely was comforting to know.

As she made her way down the corridor, she caught glimpse of a boy about her age disappearing into a room by a statue which had her gryffindor adventure spirit feeling curious. Games galore in here, her eyes widened. "These games .... are all in here for us to play?? Anytime?" Because surely that would be distracting from the school studies and yet it was also a way to keep out of forbidden areas. She saw the boy already settled into playing a game of chess. "Don't you need an opponent?" Or was it magicked that you could play chess against yourself. Kind of like a computer type game.

Still in his little world of gaming, he jumped a bit hearing another voice that had entered the room. He wasn't good at making friends, and tended to be a loner maybe he was just too weird for people. Honestly he didn't know, he just liked playing games and puzzles more then anything sports related. His amethyst eyes looking up he nodded. "Believe me I was in shock myself, so many cool games!" There was so many to pick from, and a person who loved games he knew his games very well.

Looking back at the chess board and back to the girl he shrugged. "I don't know, I was setting up to find out, but I have a feeling that it'll do so if you say you're playing alone." As the chess board and pieces heard he was playing alone, one of the white pieces moved first. "Well... that answered that question, oh by the way I'm Yami." Seeing it was his turn he moved a black pawn.
