Post From the Wizarding Archive: Curated Writing from the World of Harry Potter out in Aug

Releasing in English on 29th August 2024, From the Wizarding Archive is available to pre-order now in English in eBook and digital audiobook formats. Framed by Pottermore Publishing-authored editorial, readers and listeners will be able to explore these well-loved articles in greater depth than ever before.

This is also the first time that the content will be available in audio, exclusively on Audible. Details, including a teaser from Evanna Lynch, can be seen below.

Pottermore Publishing announced that it will publish on 29th August 2024 a curated selection of 80 articles and anecdotes about the world of Harry Potter, originally written by J.K. Rowling for Pottermore.com and that remain available and free to read on WizardingWorld.com.

From the Wizarding Archive: Curated Writing from the World of Harry Potter is available to pre-order now in English in eBook and digital audiobook formats. Framed by Pottermore Publishing-authored editorial, these well-loved articles are now available for readers and listeners to explore in greater depth than ever before, alongside an exclusive foreword written and narrated by Harry Potter film actor Evanna Lynch. This will be the first time that the original content is available in audio, exclusively on Audible.

The thematically curated writing, authoritative and witty linking passages, and heartfelt foreword from self-confessed superfan Lynch (who played Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter films), offers fans a sparkling insight into the lore and back-story of Harry’s world and allows them to discover even more about the characters and settings of the stories.

Jennie McCann, Pottermore Publishing’s Managing Director, said: “We’re thrilled to publish this wonderful content from J.K. Rowling’s archive on WizardingWorld.com in an engaging and accessible way, as well as helping to raise money for Lumos*. The articles provide an unparalleled insight into the imagination, writing process and preparation that lay behind the much-loved Harry Potter stories and we know fans will love exploring this content, and the world of Harry Potter, in even more depth.”

From the Wizarding Archive will be published as both a single volume audiobook and two-volume eBook. Volume One of the eBook will contain 45 articles curated together for the first time, while Volume Two contains the 35 articles that were previously published in 2016 as the ‘Pottermore Presents’ series of three eBooks. Fans will also be able to purchase both Volume One and Two together in a combined edition.

Following the English language launch, the German, French, Italian and Spanish eBooks and audiobooks will be published in November with further languages anticipated in due course. The Pottermore Presents eBooks will be removed from sale at the end of July and replaced with From the Wizarding Archive.

The main narration has been performed by Evanna Lynch, with Hugh Quarshie, Finlay Robertson and Lara Sawalha reading J.K. Rowling’s original articles, all of which will be delivered alongside enchanting sound design and original music.

*All author royalties will be donated by Pottermore Publishing to the Lumos Foundation on behalf of J.K. Rowling, expected to be a minimum of Ł1 (or the local currency equivalent) for each copy of From the Wizarding Archive sold.
