| | Which Harry Potter book is your favorite? And why? Which is your favorite Harry Potter book?
And why?
The original seven works of J.K. Rowling captivated the hearts of young and old alike, but just which of them captivated yours the most?! Why is that? Were you transported along with Harry and his companions as an 11-year-old into the wizarding world in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? Perhaps learning the tragic back story of Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was more your cup of tea? Or maybe it was seeing it all come together in its epic conclusion with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that truly captured you. Whatever the reason, this is your space to share your favorite book and why! Rules & Guidelines for this thread:- Before posting, please make sure you have read through the Newbie Process, Snitchseeker's Rules & FAQ, and perused the Site Resources forum.
- This is not a questions thread. If you don't understand something and/or have a real question, go to The Question Thread.
- This is not a discussion thread. Rather, this is a place for you to share your personal experience and and opinion on the original 7 Harry Potter book series. Please do not talk about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Cursed Child, Quidditch Through the Ages, etc. in this thread. There is a place for you to share about those right here.
- Likewise, this is not a place to share your views on the original 8 Harry Potter films. Just the books. There is a place to share your favorite film and why right here, however.

Half-Blood Prince is my favorite book, mainly because it gives you more of a background on both Snape and Voldemort. Ron's fling with Lavendar gave what was a decidedly very dark book (especially given what happens at the end) an amusing twist.

I really loved all of Harry Potter books but I would say my top fave book was the last one but I did feel sad about the ending

I do love all the books, but I would have to say that Goblet of Fire was one of my favorites for sure. Getting to know about the other schools and students, as well as learning of the Tri-Wizard Tournament. I also really enjoyed the tasks that came along with the Tournament. That book just seemed so immersive to me, and I quite liked it.

I love all the books, but Prisoner of Azkaban is where I met Sirius, so it will always be my favourite.

Hey. I adore all the books. It seems to me that at the moment no one in the world has done better. All these books are definitely a masterpiece.

I love the Half-Blood Prince. The characters are so dynamic in it. I love the budding relationships between Ron & Hermione (although tainted by Lavender Brown) and Harry & Ginny. I also really like Slughorn as a character, so it was great to learn more about him. It was the first book that got me really interested in the potions subject! And of course, the cave scene is just epic.

My favorite book is Prisoner of Azkaban. We were introduced to the marauders, and I just really enjoyed everything about this book.

Half Blood Prince, because of all of the background we get on Voldemort and his life as Tom Riddle.

If I absolutely had to choose Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone would probably be it. It was the book that started it all! We get an amazing introduction into this amazing world and we were left dying for more! We got to experience our first broomstick right and getting our first wand. We even got to see the restricted section of the library (something I wished I could have seen more of!)

I'm torn between Prisoner of Azkaban and the Deathly Hallows... it's so hard to just pick one, normally I mention the whole series as my 'favourite book'.

Philosopher's Stone, just because it's so full wonder and Harry's all excited to learn about the magical world and stuff. As opposed to later on when he's basically like "I really wish I wasn't Harry Potter rn bc my life sucks" lol

Prisoner of Azkaban was the first book I ever read and I think for that reason, it's always been my favorite. It was the book that introduced me to the world of Harry Potter, and thus became my gateway into the entire fandom. If I'd never bothered to read it (or rather had anything else to read - I was 11 years old and had already read all of the books in my AR level at school, so PoA was it, hah!) then I never would've found the same community that made me who I am today. Not to mention there were werewolves, hippogryffs, animagi, and all sorts of cool stuff in book 3. How can you NOT like it?
(Also Hermione smacks Draco and that was pretty much the biggest highlight for me outside of Sirius Black's storyline, haha!)

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix is my favorite Harry Potter book out of the series. I like the feeling of all of the students banding together to make a difference in the face of what seems to be a bad situation growing only worse. I also enjoyed the more adult nature of the book, the themes seemed darker and the stakes seemed higher. Actions truely had consequences (Harry going against the ministry, the dementors coming to Privet Drive, the entire plot about Harry wanting a say in his own destiny) and it felt like our favorite characters were really growing up. Not to mention that there were a couple of sequences in the book that weren't in the movie that I'm impartial to.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix is the best in my opinion. The 'revolution' against Umbridge is fascinating to read.
