Default Let's Build a Playlist For...
Anashti l Brat Pack l Sally & Dr. Finklestein

Most people have that go to song for certain situations - be it your go to karaoke serenade, what pumps you up for working out, your favorite songs to scrub dishes to, etc. And we decided here in 4 Privet Drive, we want to create collaborative playlists combining what all of YOUR go to songs are for these moments!

As a start, we have created a playlist here for members suggestions for the previous thread, What Songs Do You Exercise To? Originally created by Cedric. And the NEXT collaborative playlist idea… What songs do you listen to for RP motivation? You can be as detailed as you want with your suggestion! You can provide just the name of the song, or give us some backstory on what makes this particular jam your go to!

Some things to keep in mind:

As this is a collaborative playlist we are sharing on our site (which we pride on being family friendly), please keep in mind the subject matter, language and imagery associated with your song suggestions. For transparency, mods will be considering the below questions prior to adding the songs to the playlist. Songs may not be added depending upon the answers to below. Exclusion of a song is not a slight to any individual, simply keeping in accordance with site rules which can be located here.

Quote:
Is this song explicit? If so, is there a non-explicit version?
Is the album cover appropriate?
Does the subject matter go against site rules?
Is the song sung in English?
In order to also allow us to keep up with being able to add your suggestions, please limit to 5 songs per post. You can post as many times as you like however, so long as it is not a double post.

We look forward to your suggestions and building new playlists together!

-Your 4 Privet Drive Mod Team

I know this is a fairly old thread, but music really helps me get in touch with character and emotion while I'm writing so I wanted to respond...

1. black screen by LCD soundstystem
Not explicit
Album cover is appropriate
Site appropriate subject matter
Sung in English

This song is just very vibe-y, I feel like it encapsulates a specific ennui-esque emotion I can't quite capture with words...but be warned it's 12 minutes, so if you like long songs without much content to them this is the one for you. I feel it represents moreso specific characters than an exact feeling.

2. Melody (1983 Club Vinyl Mix) by Plustwo
Not explicit
Album cover is appropriate
Site appropriate subject matter (but toes the line a bit, I'd say)
Sung in English

This is one I like when a charrie is very infatuated with someone—I feel like it captures the excitement and tension of being really into someone very well. As an alternative if your charrie is very nervous about confessing to someone, try When He Sees Me from the Waitress soundtrack.

3. Apple by Charli XCX ft. The Japanese House
Not explicit
Album cover is appropriate
Site appropriate subject matter
Sung in English

When your charrie is having family troubles, especially with parents, turn to this song. It's upbeat but at the same time melancholy, and I feel like is straight to the point yet very poignant with the subject matter. Could also be good just for when your charrie just generally disappoints someone/lets them down, but might not hit the same as in a familial way.

4. Four Point Steel Star by Kumo 99
Not explicit in English, at least? Not sure about Japanese
Album cover features a specific finger...
Site appropriate subject matter ?
Sung in Japanese, not English to my knowledge

When your charrie is feeling edgy, this is the song I go to as of right now. Very grungy track that is still a bit dance-y; I like it because I can envision a music video to it, regardless of the fact that I don't actually know what they're saying.

5. Pop Muzik (Original Radio Track) by Robin Scott & M
Not explicit
Album cover is appropriate
Site appropriate subject matter
Sung in English

I have to admit I definitely got this one off TikTok. But, it's a very fun track for charries feeling confident and fun—I always imagine my charries strutting down the street or a hallway in a very flattering outfit to this song. Just a fun vibe, which is no wonder why it was featured in the musical Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, though I like the original song better than the Broadway recording.
