| | Harry Potter's birthday celebrated with events, promos at U.S. retailers this weekend
Warner Bros. announced that in ties with Harry Potter's birthday July 31, several retails across the U.S. will be hosting promotions, including with Macys, Walmart, Books a Million, HSN and Barnes & Noble. Details below. Ahead of the annual celebration on July 31, Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products (WBDGCP) has announced a host of retailer promotions in honor of Harry Potter’s birthday. Every year, fans delight in celebrating the day with Butterbeer and “Happee Birthdae Harry” cakes. This year, WBDGCP has collaborated with major retailers to host promotions, product collections and free online and in-store events, and marketing to engage more consumers than ever before.
Following are promotions, events and merchandise offered at major retailers:
Walmart: Walmart will have online marketing with a paid media campaign onsite and offsite including products such as matching Wizarding World plates and napkins , a collectible Polly Pocket compact, and an 8” Harry Potter Doll gift set, perfect for your ultimate birthday celebration.
Barnes & Noble will host Harry Potter-themed activations with more than 300 stores offering in-store events for shoppers with free coloring pages, trivia handouts, a free Harry Potter-themed pen, and more (while supplies last). Special “Happee Birthdae” merchandise available for purchase (above) includes a tote bag and a phone Popsocket.
Macys: In its flagship stores, Macys will offer shoppers photo opportunities with lifesize Funko Harry Potter figures. Fans can find this special opportunity at the following stores: San Francisco (Union Station), Dadeland (Miami), and Chicago. Additionally, Macy’s social media will have a Harry Potter takeover and Macy.com will showcase the beloved wizards birthday online with special birthday-themed content, products like the Crest Varsity Mini Backpack and trivia.
HSN: Wands at the ready! HSN invites you to a celebration of Harry Potter’s Birthday on July 31st with a magical collection of Harry Potter-themed merchandise. With featured products including accessories, home décor, collectables, food and more, there is sure to be something for every wizard, witch or Muggle.
