| | Quidditch Pitch If you follow a winding path from the Training Grounds, eventually you will arrive at the Quidditch pitch. The oval structure itself is a rather remarkable sight to see as it stands at five hundred feet long and a hundred and eighty feed wide. Because of the popularity of the sport, the pitch is used quite regularly. Here tryouts are held, in addition to scheduled team practices and a number of inter-House matches throughout the term. When the pitch isn't booked, it is available for general use from anyone who wants to casually fly around or play various broom games.
The maintenance on the pitch is of utmost importance. The three silver goalposts at each end of the pitch are regularly polished so they shine brightly in the sunlight, and the white markings outlining the exterior of the pitch as well as the middle are regularly painted. During the fall, spring, and summer months, a lawn mower has been charmed to cut the grass of the pitch mid-morning every three days just after the dew has dried. When it is winter, the mower is set aside and a magical snow blower is used to clear up as much of the pitch as possible. To keep the pitch in prime condition, all are asked to do their part as well by not littering or vandalizing it in any way; otherwise there will be consequences to face.
Anyone who wishes to use the Quidditch pitch is allowed do so, but it is expected that all rules regarding it are adhered to at all times and the curfew listed is followed. These rules can be found posted on the noticeboard at the entrance of the pitch. ooc: please do not play for the flying professor: PhoenixRising

| the dramallama departs XD astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Her heart hammered in her chest as her grip tightened around her broom, that cursed stupid school broom that refused to do anything right, let alone cooperate with someone of her caliber. It was like flying a block of wood rather than the finely tuned piece of quidditch equipment she was used to at home. Her breath came out in sharp, angry puffs as she shifted her balance and heard the crunch of grass beneath her boots. She glared up at him, Edgar Cloggs - the irritatingly transparent and utterly pointless ghost - and grumbled under his breath at his cheer. Truly, the last thing she needed was some floating relic like him haunting her right now.
"I’m fine," Calliope bit out, her jaw clenched, her posture rigid as she swung the handle of the broom from one shoulder to the other, something entirely different from the enchanted cold causing her to shiver. Tryouts were called, it was over, and she forced herself to stand tall, despite the hot surge of frustration burning beneath her pseudo-cool exterior - it was easy to see on her features that she was angrier than an insulted hippogriff.
At least she had completely forgotten about who’d been cheering her on from the stands and all that nonsense. Honestly, who needed the extra emotional drama right now? She'd also forgotten her manners and to praise her future teammates on their performances - but she was distraught!
So no, she would not be paying the healer a visit. She would just march right off this pitch and sulk.
Oh, and she was going to throw her worthless school broom down on the pitch as well. *whump*

| YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers Oh no the slytherin first year did NOT just do that. Honestly the hospital wing was just a precautionary measure, but it wasn't required as at superficial glance they all seemed well enough. However sometimes internal things could be affected from specters and falls, always worth mentioning. So Amelia was definitely fine with them not going to see the healer, as it was more preventative.
What the older woman was NOT fine with however, was disrespect to school property. The broomsticks might not have been the newest, but that did not mean they didn't deserve respect. Some might argue they deserved MORE respect. "Miss Barrington. 10 points from Slytherin due to your blatent disrespect of school property."
She doubted Calliope would be upset over that as she was already looking glum, but certain things needed to be acknowledged. Consequences must happen.
