Middle Floors The central floors of the castle contain several classrooms, the headmaster's office, and numerous nooks and crannies to explore. Be careful around the portraits, they are not known to be the best at keeping gossip to a minimum.

Default Portraits

The walls in the first-floor corridor are covered in tapestries and, hung over them, are portraits of numerous witches and wizards. Whether you are trying to get to class or are just browsing around, the portraits here will try to start up a conversation with you. If you manage to get on their good side, they'll be willing to reveal secret passageways, share the latest school gossip, and more.

If you have time to spare, definitely go on a brief tangent from whatever it is you are doing. Google Stump is your man to go to if you're looking for answers about the mysteries of the castle; Beaumont Marjoribanks can tell you everything there is to know about gillyweed; and Elizabeth Burke ... well, it would be best to just avoid her for reasons that will be obvious should you strike up a discussion with her about magical blood status. There are other portraits here as well, each with their own unique personalities, and figures from other portraits happen to invade their frames from time to time.

OOC: Please do not role-play for the Portraits.

Beezley had been told to cleansie all the messes that the studentsies had made throughout the corridors. Footsie prints here, handsie prints there, alls over the place! Try as the Beezley might and she couldn't get any of it clean! The little elfsie scrubbed windows and walls, mopped the floors over and over and over again for hours! All days long she been cleansing, her armsies were getting sore.

Tugging at her ears in distress, Beezley looked around the corridor. She was going to have to work harder! Scrubs even more! This elfsie was doing her bestesties!

Tell Them I'm Trapped in an Oil Painting

Elizabeth Burke was not pleased! Her usually immaculate frame was smeared with dirty handprints, and her canvas had taken on a dull gray appearance. She rounded on the house elf, eyes narrowed. “It’s about time you got here!” she snapped. “Look at this mess! I look like a disgrace! Clean my portrait at once.”

She glared at the elf from behind her frame. She would allow about ten seconds for her order to be followed. Otherwise she’d give the filthy creature a piece of her mind!

Scrubby scrub scrub!

Beezley was mid scrubbiddy scrubs when there was screaming happening only inches from her face. Her large eyes widened in fear, tugging at her ears, she was the one being yelled at! "Ye-yes Missus, Beezley cleans ups right away. Beezley cleans all days long but Beezley can'ts get these printies off." The elfsie took a new clean wash cloth from her pile of cleaning supplies and quickly got to work scrubbing with all her might at the portraits frame.

"Beezley will gets it all cleaned up." She was a hard worker, yes she was.

Scrub, scrubbity, scrubs scrub!

Elizabeth huffed, unmoved by the elf’s fear. “What do you mean you can’t get the prints off?!” she demanded, her face a mixture of confusion and annoyance, mostly annoyance. “You must not be scrubbing hard enough.”

Elizabeth watched the elf get to work scrubbing, momentarily placated. “You had better,” she said, her eyes narrowing in warning.
