I have successfully completed ONE total Seektober challenges, and I started but did not finish another. So, here's to another shot! I got hit like with a very interesting idea like LIGHTING shaped scar.
I am not able to post or make graphics every day, but I am going to take three prompts at a time and create a fake book cover based on those prompts (with a fun title, of course). I have been getting back into reading lately and feel really inspired to make book covers that might be appealing (might being the key word; failure could also happen, ha!) Well, here goes!

Fake Synopsis
Lord Voldemort, formerly known as Tom Riddle, once said, "There is no good and evil, there is only power, and those too weak to seek it." But Tom Riddle was not an entity of his own - he had to get his ideas from somewhere...or from someone?
In this fictional rendering of the evil incarnate, follow a young Slytherin named Darcy Fitz as he grows increasingly more suspicious of one of his fellow sixth years, Tom Riddle. With mishaps around Hogwarts warping his school experience, Fitz begins to witness the cruelty not only of Riddle but also his Care of Magical Creatures professor, Dr. DeBough, a man with a moon-shaped birthmark marring his temple and a penchant for brutal detentions and punishments. The more Fitz suspects Riddle of evil wrongdoings, the more he fears the retribution of malicious Dr. DeBough.

This is such a cool concept for Seektober!! You’ll have a whole virtual bookshelf by the end of the month I agree with Kath though, you’ll have to write one of them for us all to read.
ooooh, I LOVE your spin on Seektober this year, and the extra treat of the fake synopses (fun but also mean because the books do not exist !!!) but still I really enjoy the whole ~ambience~ you've orchestrated in that cover. I feel like it's exactly the kind of cover that would draw my eye if I was just browsing

Designing book covers is a lot harder than it looks. Because like, the first few drafts of these don't look like a book and it makes me so mad. I end up scrolling through pages and pages of real book covers so I can get them just right. BLEGH.

Fake Synopsis
In a world where nations worship warring reptilian gods, the quiet country of Ranheim has been invaded by the cruel King Drogormir. Aided by the powers of his dragon gods, he has conquered Ranheim in an attempt to rule the world with both fear and fire.
Elara Fetchwell lives a simple life on her parents' farm where her only worries are her chores and duties at the farm. Her closest friends are her mother's cows, and the only time Elara speaks with humans are when she runs errands in the village square. When a traveling monk, a worshipper of the frog god Anurion, leaves her a mysterious deck of playing cards, her life begins to change. The cards whisper to her in her dreams. They tell her things she would never have dreamed possible - that King Drogormir can be defeated and that perhaps, she may be the one chosen to vanquish him.
Soon, Elara embarks on a journey she never expected, one where she must push aside her fears and become what the people of Ranheim need her to be. Will she succeed? Who can she trust? Spies are everywhere, and Elara has never left her small village before.
So, this cover took me forever. I have so many drafts and versions of it that I hated and deleted and overrode. I'm not sure I even like this one, but I like the image I created and the font for the title. The card I made took 5EVER. I think this was the first time I actually "photoshopped" an image not on the original image ONTO the second image. *passes out* I am pretty proud of the card, though. I frankenstein'd so many elements together to make it look cohesive xD The ORIGINAL synopsis I wrote was SO MUCH BETTER, but I accidentally IN A RAGE deleted the cover art (which I write the synopsis next to in the notes section on canva) and I didn't realize I had deleted my notes until it was too late to recover anything. I had the storyline in my head, so I went off of my memory, but I'm just not as happy with the writing of this synopsis as the original.
Alas, I tried. Like I said, I am satisfied with it but not HAPPY with this one. It's fine. Everything's fine. wah

I think the cover turned out GR8, and I think you're gr8 too. I do not get the author, but let me ponder it for a while and I"m sure it'll come to be eventually. Or not. I'm really stupid these days.
I am not sure how I managed to miss your second cover, but I see it now. and I see that author's name. I see it (at least I think I do - emily dickinson???). anyway, I know you said it's difficult but you make it look easy! because I am a millennial probably I look at the book covers before reading the synopses (instant gratification vibes yk) and like to guess what the vibe of the story will be. I know you are not happy-happy with this one but I think it matches up perfectly. and I love the little froggo.
I don't know how you get all these ideas for fake books. I'm in awe of your idea machine.
