FearlessLeader19’s Dedications To Fictional Characters :hello: Don't you positively love this wonderful Snitchseeker tradition?! I would like to give you a warm welcome to my Seektober 2023 thread! This will be my third year participating, and like last year, I will use varying methods to showcase my work. For 2023, I have decided to make dedications to my favourite fictional characters. These characters will come from books, movies, and television shows. They all hold a special place in my heart for various reasons and I cannot think of a better way to honour them through Seektober. These dedications will be depicted through the Gilderoy Lockhart 30 Day Challenge. Below is the complete list of prompts for this challenge, with links to each of my creations: SPOILER!!: Prompts Completed: 30/30 Happy viewing! :exciterainbow: |
Character Name: Alexander Gideon Lightwood aka Alec Character Origin: The Mortal Instruments {books}; Shadowhunters {show} If kindness were a fictional character, it would be Alec. He is the one I try to model my level of kindness after. It has truly been a joy watching his character development throughout Cassandra Clare's books and the TV series did this justice as well - from a salty Shadowhunter who was hiding who he truly was to a confident leader and warrior. Alec's choice of weapon in battle is the bow and arrow, hence my crooked drawing below ^_^ SPOILER!!: Click! |
I like this concept! And am so not surprised you chose Alec :loved: Just the best <3 Great job on the bow and arrow! I can't wait to see what else you come up with! |
I love this idea of showcasing your favourite characters :glomp: I’ve not read the mortal instruments *hides* but your first creation is so sweet. <3 very excited to stalk some more!! |
SPOILER!!: Suze! Thank you! TBH, I had this idea riiiiight after last year's Seektober concluded and I held onto it! Ugh, you know me so well, Suze! :loved: I'll join Magnus in protecting Alec with all I have :3 Thank youuu! I can't wait to continue this challenge! SPOILER!!: Emz! Thank you, my lovely! :loveskip: I highly encourage you to read the books! Or at least watch the Netflix series if you can  Character Name: Steven Grant 'Steve' Rogers aka Captain America Character Origin: The Marvel Comics; The Marvel Cinematic Universe Steve is more than just a pretty face with that pretty blond hair and gorgeous blue eyes. He's courageous, compassionate and just generally a good man and a loyal friend. What I love the most about him are how he's never afraid to stand up for what's right and how a good of a friend he is to Bucky and Natasha. I'm not good at drawing but I think for now, I would like to continue this path for my creations. Excuse my slightly crooked one below as I drew the circles free handedly  SPOILER!!: Click! |
Aw, what a cute concept ^_^ I'm keen to see who makes the masterlist of 30 favorites! I have only seen the Is there a reason for the color choices on your bow and arrow? :pea: and yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas Steve :omgomg: |
This is such a unique take on the prompts. Look forward to seeing what else you have in store for us ^_^ |
Ahhh I'm so excited you have a thread and are participating this year, Ali-cat!! I can't wait to see what else you create for your favorite characters! I love the bow and arrow and shield thus far! |
Eeeek I love the shield!! Very bright and bold. :loved: I’m also a big fan of Steve. |
awww !! I loveeee that you keep doing this every year !! Such an inspiration :kissesforu: Your sketches are so fun and this is such a unique twist too |
love your take on these prompts! very excited to see who makes an appearance. I am not familiar with anything Cassandra Clare has written, but I can still appreciate the route you took from the prompt to the character to the final piece. very nice bow, love the colour scheme. I also really enjoy your take on 'self-portrait', with Steve's iconic shield can't wait to see more creativity from you ^_^ |
SPOILER!!: All the kind things! <3 Character Name: Tyler Kennedy Strand a.k.a T. K Character Origin: 9-1-1: Lone Star {TV Show} I got into the show in June of this year after videos of TK and his boyfriend kept appearing on my Facebook feed during Pride month. I immediately fell in love with it, with TK becoming my second fave character. Representing him is a stethoscope because though TK started out as a capable firefighter, he went on to become one of the best paramedics as part of his character development. The stethoscope is coloured in a few colours of the Pride flag to further represent this wonderful man. SPOILER!!: Click! |
alas, a show that I also know nothing about (but I know the actor because he has been suggested to me for an older Josh face :xd:) this is a very sweet little homage to the character though and I think stethoscopes should come in colors like this  |
I love your drawings ;__; I love how cute they are and how meaningful you are making them! Can't wait to see what else you produce <3 |
Ooh I’ve never heard of this show! :pea: another adorable piece, love the representation you’ve included and how meaningful you make them. <3 big fan of stalking this page! |
SPOILER!!: Hey, all you beautiful people! <3 Character Name: Dr. Spencer Reid a.k.a Spence Character Origin: Criminal Minds {TV Show} Reid is a Supervisory Special Agent with the FBI and he is a GENIUS! He has an IQ of 187, can read 20,000 words per minute and has an eidetic memory. Since Intelligence is one of the traits of Ravenclaw House, I saw it fitting to represent him with a brain. I had extra fun doing this one because I found that drawing the swirls {which were first drawn in pencil then traced over with a black wooden pencil} quite soothing  Don't think I captured the brain stem efficiently. Oh well xD SPOILER!!: Click! |
Sounds like a brain is the perfect idea for this character! XD 20,000 words per minute?! I think this is piece is amazing! The shaping and swirls of the brain look great and it all works and blends so well together - ITS PERFECT!!!:loveskip: |
I understand this reference! .....vaguely  I think you did a fine job on the brain ^_^ it looks really squishy! |
SPOILER!!: <3 Character Name: Magnus Bane Character Origin: The Mortal Instruments {Books}; Shadowhunters {TV Show} Paying homage to my second fave TMI character - after Alec - who incidentally is Alec's husband. Magnus is the High Warlock of Brooklyn, later promoted to the High Warlock of Alicante {the Shadowhunters' home city} after he and Alec married. Magnus is immortal and has had many, many adventures over his 400+ years on Earth. For this reason, he was assigned this prompt. Throughout the series' {both books & TV show}, his magic is represented by blue flames. So, I chose to colour the below flame in sky blue {outer flame} and dark blue {inner flame}. SPOILER!!: Click! |
ahhh, Lone Star is one I'm sort of familiar with, I've caught a few episodes here and there. the stethoscope is a really sweet homage to the character especially with the pride colours incorporated in. excellent choice. that's a really neat brain (they're so fun to draw, right?) I'm loving the swirls :3 and with the flames, I love those two shades together. also the journey (or voyage, ha) from prompt to character to final piece once again. so creative ^_^ |
SPOILER!!: Feely! *hearteyes* Character Name: Rhett Butler Character Origin: Gone With The Wind {Book} Rhett has been my fave GWTW character from the moment we encountered him. His sassiness, shrewdness, intelligence and caring nature had me hooked in each of his scenes. He is quite popular though not all for good reasons and is legit described as 'the black sheep' of his family. Naturally I chose to draw and colour one of those ;) Though not fully coloured in black, I think it still represents Rhett. I particularly had fun doing the face  SPOILER!!: Click! |
I like the shape of that little blue flame :loved: it is its own little chibi form! baa baa black sheep :sheep: it is so floofy! Also, I know this reference but....I've never seen the film nor read the book either :xd: |
I’m really loving the niche way you are connecting your prompts to your characters but then going a little abstract with the drawing rather than going for the obvious. It’s so cool to see the way your mind is linking these things. |
SPOILER!!: Lovelies! <3 Character Name: Jack Dawson Character Origin: Titanic {Movie} Dear, sweet, brave Jack :loved: He was the first 'walking green flag' character I encountered as a pre teen. However, I hadn't realised this until earlier this year when I rewatched the movie after it was re-released in cinemas. This prompt was selected for him because Jack has always been the writer of his own life. He never allowed anyone to dictate how he should live and rightfully so. In the end, he penned himself a very adventurous life. For him, I went with a poker chip since he won his ticket to the Titanic in a game of poker. Darker colours were selected for the chip as Jack usually wore said array of colours. SPOILER!!: Click! |
Ooooh, lots of new pretties to catch up on. :loved: firstly - that sheep is so CUUUUTE!! :x3: I’m not familiar with most of the characters you have portrayed, but Jack <3 someone who has a place in all of our hearts I’m sure. the poker chip came out great, very symmetrical and pleasing colour choices! :x3: |
