Do you ever feel a bit confused about your characters personality type? Or aren't quite SURE what their strengths and weaknesses would be, or how their personality would go about with interactions, thought processes etc.?
The Myer's Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) gives you information (after taking THE TEST) on;
The Mind (how the characters interact with their environment) - Introverted (I) or Extroverted (E)
The Energy (how the characters direct their mental energy) - Intuitive (N) or Sensing (S)
The Nature (how the characters make decisions) - Thinking (T) or Feeling (F)
The Tactics (how the characters approach work, planning and decision-making) - Judging (J) or Perceiving (P)
There are 16 different personalities; The Analysts
INTJ: The Architect
INTP: The Logician
ENTJ: The Commander
ENTP: The Debater
The Diplomats
INFJ: The Advocate
INFP: The Mediator
ENFJ: The Protagonist
ENFP: The Campaigner
The Sentinels
ISTJ: The Logistician
ISFJ: The Defender
ESTJ: The Executive
ESFJ: The Consul
The Explorers
ISTP: The Virtuoso
ISFP: The Adventurer
ESTP: The Entrepreneur
ESFP: The Entertainer
After taking the test, you will get your characters very own MBTI, which shows you an introduction to that type, strengths and weaknesses, how they behave in romantic relationships, how they behave as friends, how they behave as parents, their 'ideal' career paths, and their workplace habits.
Feel free to post your results here and discuss your character's personality, if you agree/disagree with the results etc.

Zander Adair: ESFP
Which is just one letter off from my own, ESFJ. It was interesting for sure because I see a lot of similarities between the two of us, but our main differences lie within our reactions to disorder. While I hate disorder, Zander is more prone to favor it. He, himself, never carries a plan and prefers to improvise.
James Draper: ESTJ-A
This could not be more spot on. My favorite part is "ESTJ personality type lose respect quickly for those who try to push forward by promoting bold but risky ideas, making relationships with more inspiration-oriented colleagues a challenge." I think that's why he has a problem with so many of his fellow staff members lol. At least it falls true with Airey and Paul because both of them tend to be your guys with the BIG, FUN ideas and James frowns upon those as he is a big advocate of practicality and reason.
Another cool thing I find about Myers-Briggs is that your personality type tends to stay the same, exempt from the case of big changes in your life that could influence them. If I had taken this test for James prior to his experience in the army, I think his type would look a lot more like an ESTP. But that he was trained to become more of a J type. Which makes sense as his type 'ESTJ' is known as the 'model citizen' and that's who he has grown to become through following rules/regulations seriously.
A running list:
Zander Adair - ESFP-T
James Draper - ESTJ-A
Jacob Jinks - ISTP-A
Zoryn Spinnet - ENTP-T
Tiffany Price - ISTJ-A
Nikho Pham - INFJ-T
Jackson Bole - ENFP-A
*Meeeeeeeeee - ESFJ-T

This is going to be a LONG POST because I have a LOT of stuff to let out in regards to character personalities and stuff and akldfmdkmkgfm. So I'm hiding part of it cause it's only vaguely related to what this thread is about.
Text Cut: this part is unrelated to the MB so I'm hiding it.
I want to preface this by saying that I did absolutely no research into anything before I started playing Jaemin. His name, his interests, his mannerisms, etc etc all just spawned organically as I thought about him more and more, and I never looked into sites or tests or anything to determine any of his personality.
THAT SAID.
I find myself being almost terrified daily about how all of his stuff fits together. For Korean names, they typically don't have a "meaning" when written in hangul. So Jaemin's name as written in Korean (재민) doesn't have the usual sort of thing like "Amy means friend" or whatever. HOWEVER. If written in hanja (Chinese characters that are borrowed by Korean) it actually has meaning. In hanja his name is 宰珉, which literally reads as "Jaemin" but when the characters' meanings are taken into account, the first means "a high-ranking official" and the second means "gem". So basically he's bossy (yes) and highly valued (also yes *bigheaded full of self Ameh moment*).
A few weeks ago I think? I was googling to get the hanja for his name because I'm supremely lazy and it's easier for me to google for it than to actually install a keyboard and stuff to type it (CHINESE IS TERRIFYING OKAY SO MUCH STUFF) and I noticed google offering up this site that gives you the meaning for your name on top of a whole bunch of other stuff. I clicked on it, wondering what it might have, and everything on it is so utterly and completely Jaemin that I started yelling at people about it on Skype.

You can do well in position of authority, and prospers in intellectual and professional fields. You are bold, independent, inquisitive and interested in research. You know what you want and why you want it.
You are very intuitive. You have a reservoir of inspired wisdom combined with inherited analytical ability, which could reward you through expressions of spiritual leadership, business analysis, marketing, artistic visions, and scientific research. Operating on spiritual side of your individuality can bring you to the great heights, and drop you off if you neglect your spiritual identity. You are always looking for an opportunity to investigate the unknown, to use and show your mental abilities, to find the purpose and meaning of life. You want to grow wise and to understand people and things. You need privacy to replenish your energy. You have a unique way of thinking, intuitive, reflective, absorbing.
So his name lends itself to inquisitiveness and a knack for research and a need to understand people and things. This is... sorta Jaemin to a fault? He doesn't understand subjects that require you to just accept that x means y. He needs to understand why. I don't know how the other numbers on the site are calculated because the ones assigned to the name Jaemin don't fit into the model of Arithmancy we use here on SS? But those fit him in scarily accurate ways as well.
I took the Myers-Briggs for Jaemin and came up with ENTJ-A. A lot of what I've read in that profile really fits him well - energetic, strong-willed... impatient. Holding themselves to high standards. The only little pitfall is the self-confidence thing - he swings back and forth from extremely confident in himself to like, feeling as if he's bad at everything. I got to experience that when he failed at dueling and immediately wilted like a dying plant - it was no fun whatsoever.
There's also a bit in the profile about a lack of sensitivity for others' feelings too, which... while Jaemin isn't cold and he does understand others needing encouragement and reassurance and stuff, he also isn't overly concerned with things like that. He himself needs reassurance from time to time, but only when that self-confidence crash happens. And during those times, he's not really in ENTJ-A mode. He sorta slips into... something else. I'm not really sure.
I myself am an INFP and I have no idea where this child came from. He's strange. The funny thing is, everything in his archetype profile reads as Slytherin, which makes me laugh because more than one person has looked at him and asked me if I'm sure he's not supposed to be in Ravenclaw.

I know exactly what you mean. Same situation entirely, although Brooklyn has changed a bit. I still have no idea where she came from though, seeing as she's nothing like any of her family members, as I'm aware.

Colt got ISTP-A and he is part of the Virtuoso group which I think fits him very well

ISTPs love to explore with their hands and their eyes, touching and examining the world around them with cool rationalism and spirited curiosity. People with this personality type are natural Makers, moving from project to project, building the useful and the superfluous for the fun of it, and learning from their environment as they go. Often mechanics and engineers, ISTPs find no greater joy than in getting their hands dirty pulling things apart and putting them back together, just a little bit better than they were before.

Soooo I am incredibly interested in personality types and might have flailed a little when this thread was started.
I have FINALLY done the test for Esme, and her results showed her to be an ENFJ-A (The Protagonist). This fits her to a tee. I love how accurate both hers and Gabby (ESTJ-A)'s were. I'm going to work out what the rest of my characters fall under and then post the results here. I did Lux's months ago but sadly I can't remember what she ended up getting. I'm pretty sure that she is a ExFx though as she is both extroverted and a feeler.

Zeke is ENFP-A: The Campaigner, and it is SO fitting.
"Charming, independent, energetic and compassionate..." he is all of those things most of the time, or he's a butt, depends if it's a good day or a bad day I guess. XD
"ENFPs are fiercely independent, and much more than stability and security, they crave creativity and freedom." Freedom YES, though creativity is more limited with Zeke, or at least it's definitely not present in him in the artistic form, though he is creative when it comes to potions, charms and runes.
The whole bit about relationships is like.... YES... OMG YES. Which is lovely and concerning at the same time. I'd hate to think what my headspace will be like in the future.
Strengths and weaknesses marry up quite well, but the exception to that is having poor practical skills - definitely not the case, and having trouble focusing. The boy has tunnel vision 89% of the time, HE CAN FOCUS REALLY WELL.... just usually on the thing that doesn't require the focus.
"ENFPs tend to get deeply involved in others' lives, going to great lengths and efforts to be the selfless, caring and supportive people they are, and all the while forget to take care of themselves." For people he cares about, he will put their wellbeing before his own without question... so this is super accurate. Tried and tested.
ENFP careers is a bit of a glaring, HOW? WHAT? REALLY? NAAAHHH section, but parts of it ring true. It rules out work with structure/hierarchy e.g. military service, but I would say this is not the case. His reason for steering away from such paths is because he was of the opinion his mum would lock him in a cell for life if he considered it. "People with the ENFP personality type need to feel like they're pushing boundaries and exploring ideas, and should focus on interests and careers that encourage that." This sounds more true to Zeke. He likes to go out on a limb, try new things, discover new things so whether it's ideas or material objects or both, it fits quite well. His current thoughts on careers are: law enforcement, mercenary, obliviator?, curse breaker

So I did the personality tests for Simon and Emma. When creating Olivia, I did a Myers Brigg test to help me figure out what she's like.
[] Emma Malfoy -ESFP: The Entertainer
[] Simon Holden - ISTJ: The Logistician
[] Olivia Holden - ENFJ: The Protagonist
My personality is most similar to Simon's which I didn't expect. I thought I would be most similar to Emma as she was my first character. Simon and I only differ by one letter (its E versus I). Perhaps this can explain why I loved playing him the most out of all my characters! Though with Simon he has grown a little from an ISTJ as his strengths and weaknesses did not match exactly. I feel as personalities (such as Myer Briggs) can change. I remember being younger and taking the test and getting an ENFJ. Now when I take it, I'm an ESTJ. I wonder if the test continue to change throughout someone's life...?
I just took the test for Jacob -- trying to round out and develop his character as I play him for the first full term ever He got INTJ-A ("The Architect"). I think it describes him well! I myself am INFP... It makes sense as my personality is similar to the one I've created for Jacob, but I tried to distance myself a bit and think outside the box. We'll see how it goes!
lives in a hobbit hole || Ern and Touz's Nuzzle || roflysst || looking at a seed packet
I just did this with my new character, Bel, and I'm not convinced so far. She got THE ENTERTAINER” (ESFP-A)
EXTROVERTED -93%
OBSERVANT -72%
FEELING - 64%
PROSPECTING -69%
ASSERTIVE -90%
There are some things that I suppose fit, but I think because she's just thirteen/almost fourteen its hard to be sure exactly where she is as far as all this stuff goes. Obviously there are aspects that I can't really measure, romantic relationships, parenthood, workplace, career path etc, so I guess I'll see how it all goes. I wanted to post here for posterity though, so that when I do try again when she's older I'll be able to compare. In saying all that, none of the other types jump out at me either so perhaps this IS the most fitting? Hard to say!

So I just did this for Miss Patterson... She got The Protagonist (ENFJ-A)
As she's so very young, I'm not entirely convinced this fits her perfectly. However, she is certainly more an extravert than an introvert and asserts herself a lot. She is growing as a person though so I'm sure her personality type will adjust accordingly.

Emmalyn is an ENFJ-T - The Protagonist. I think that fits her well.
Quote:
Protagonists are genuine, caring people who talk the talk and walk the walk, and nothing makes them happier than leading the charge, uniting and motivating their team with infectious enthusiasm.
I did this for Beth earlier and got ENTJ - The Commander though Beth tries to deny this part of herself and also puts out the entertainer personality traits but this is because she's trying to be less like her yet-unplayed twin Cordelia, and more like her other family members she looks up to and admires.
Quote:
ENTJs are natural-born leaders. People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal
Beth, so far is more of a social chameleon so I may have to edit her later.
