However, the Professor does need to maintain more strict disiplinary actions. Also, some would say that more mishaps than necessary have occured in this classroom. As to who's fault that is, I cannot solely put the blame on Professor Flitwick.

Professor Hagrid: I find that this class is one of the more entertaining classes as opposed to say, History of Magic. Hagrid's teaching style is a more... relaxed one than most and makes the learning environment an easier one than a quicker paced class. Also, it is more involved and interactive. I understand that Hagrid's class has lead to injuries, but when dealing with wild animals what are you going to do?

Professor Snape: Professor Snape seems to have a superb knowledge of Potions as well has a firm hand on the classroom. Although Professor Snape is a man who knows how to get his point across, the potions that he has taught seem to be a little advanced for the students that he taught. Having been a Gryffindor/Slytherin rivalry, Snape tended to be biased toward Gryffindors aspecially. Other than that, he is very qualified for his position.

Professor Sprout: I certainly agree about the astound knowledge of herbology and the ability to share that knowledge are key features to the success of Professor Sprout. I do think that the language is a bit disruptive and the students would benefit from a cleaner environment. In my opinion, groupwork is a way to build character but it would be good to do some individual work as students will need to take initiative to do things for themselves in the "real" world.

Professor Trelawney: Though her predictions may seem random and the subject might seem ridiculous to some, it is not a pointless subject. Professor Trelawney might want to work on honing her skills to become a more accurate Seer, and the death/harm predictions should definetly be left out. And even though Trelawney may not be the most lucid seeming professor, she interests the class and gets them involved.

Professor/High Inquestor Umbridge: I believe that Umbridge has made some fair desicions in her examining the other Professors, but she has also used the power of her position to her own personal advantage. This is both unprofessional and unethical. Students also never got the chance to practice what they were learning, and you know what they say: practice makes perfect.

This was a difficult desicion and you are all very unique and wonderful in your own way, but please do not think this makes me think any less of you. If given the option, I would fire Professor Umbridge, and if not given the option, I would fire Professor Trelawney who seemed to be the weaker link of the bunch.

Chloe stood confidently when the image Trelawney appeared in front of her, and she looked right into the eyes of the illusion. Helena took her seat and looked at the Department Head at the front of the room. She listened to her talk and explain, and Helena frowned. She really didn't understand how this was to help them in real life.

Ahh. They'd be firing the illusions. Helena could understand how knowing how to fire someone would help in life, especially if you were inspiring to climb to the top of your career ladder.

Helena looked at the report that was infront of her and began reading it. She sat reading it for a long time, then took out her quill and finally began to write on the back of the page:

There are a number of things that catch my eye in Ms. Umbridge's report, things that I do not agree with, and that I find very biased. Firstly, Professor Flitwick. It is generally common knowledge amongst BOTH Wizard and Muggle that Children learn better in happier environments, and when their lessons are more fun. I do not understand how Miss Umbridge can say that there was too much merriment in the lesson. Children learn from their mistakes, so if there are a multitude of mishaps and things going wrong in Professor Flitwicks class, then surely the students learn a lot in his class.

Secondly, Whilst I do not think that Professor Trelawny is the best of the teaching in Hogwarts, She still teaches her class. The students who want to be in that class learn the subject and pay attention. I'm sure Miss Umbridge will have found that it was the students who had realised that they had no interest for the subject that paid no attention, or made the class 'uncontrolled', as the report claims.

I feel that Miss Umbridge was extremely biased with her report on Professor Hagrid, as it is well known that Hagrid is a half-breed, and that Miss Umbridge does not like half-breeds at all. She has clearly exaggurated the words of some certain students and from her experiences during her inspections. However, I also feel that Miss Umbridge just wants to get rid of the teachers that she doesn't like, and those who don't follow her rules, as opposed to the teachers that could actually do the school some good by being let go.

Again, I feel that Miss Umbridge does not like Professor Sprout very much, as it is well known that the old woman loves her subject and taught it with much more knowledge than Miss Umbridge claims. However, I do agree with Miss Umbridge ever so slightly about Professor Sprout's allowance of foul language in the classroom. Yes, I understand why she allows the students to use such language, though I also think that it shouldn't be allowed, as it influences and teaches horrible habits and manners to the children. Surely a teacher as smart as Professor Sprout could have thought of a more imaginative means of letting the children express themselves when they get attacked by Devils Snare?

Lastly, it is VERY clear that Miss Umbridge liked Professor Snapes teaching a lot. She liked how he 'controlled' the class. And how he used fear factors to scare the children into being so terrified that they daren't breathe in his class. Teachers are supposed to be people that students can go to for help if they need it, and I don't think that Professor Snape portrays this image of a teacher - No student would want to go to see him in their free time.

After thinking through this, and summing up what I think of the teachers and the reports, it is very clear that all of the teachers bring both positive and not-so-positive contributions to their teaching. However, they all bring something positive to the school. Ideally, the teacher that I would choose to fire is Miss Umbridge, because she is the only teacher who, in my eyes, brought NOTHING but trouble and misery to the school. She was biased, selfish and considered herself too much like Minister Fudge, who didn't so very much good for the Wizarding World himself. However, seeing as this is not an option, the member of staff I would choose to fire is Professor Snape, and that is because I feel that he terrorises and scares more of his students than the number of students that he sucseeds in teaching.

When Helena finished writing, She read through her writing and looked up to signal that she'd finished. This challenge really made Helena feel like she was back at school, and Helena didn't like that feeling at all.

Teresa studied the paper over and over again, knowing this after all was her departments part of the presentation. She thought very hard and wrote

While I believe that High Inquisitor Umbridge had know past education that would have made her a inadequate judge of the professors I agree on a few things. I also believe that teachers need to not show favoritism such as Professor Hagrid and Sprout, but they as well as Professor Flitwick, worked to make their classes not only instructional but fun too. It is hard for me to choose whether professor Trelawney or Snape should be fired because I feel that they are but inadequate professors. Trelawney lacked general knowledge of the subject she was teaching and had pore teaching and presentation skills. Professor Snap was a more structured professor but he was so stick that his students rarely ever had fun. I wish I could go showdown theses professors myself to have a better understanding if the teaching issues relate to lack of ability or personality traits. If I had to choose a professor I would have to pick Trelawney because here obstacles to better teaching are a bit larger.

I don’t think that Professor Filtwick should be fired. The high inquisitor may ask for more discipline and that might be justified but I think it is very important to have a warm and loving professor who is passionate about his subject and his students. If the professor loves his subject and reflects that in teaching, the students will want to learn too. It is in the student’s best interests to see and learn that making mistakes and causing mishaps as you call it high inquisitor is perfectly okay and besides if you aren’t allowed to do wrong then how are you supposed to get better and evolve as a person or further your skills in charms?

I think in Professor Trelawney’s case she could be fired considering her unorthodox methods of teaching. It is never good to try to gain students trust and respect by making predictions that scare them. Lack of order is also something that disrupts the student’s education and she seems inadequate to fully be in charge of a room filled with students. Then there is the matter of her seer ability. Shouldn’t a seer be able to make predictions when asked and not just now and again? I think it is in the student’s best interest that Professor Trelawney will be replaced by someone who can teach the art of Divination and have control of his/her classroom in a way that further rather than hinders the student’s education.

I love Professor Hagrid dearly but in the best interest of the students of Hogwarts I think he should be removed from his teaching position. Hagrid is as I see it of better use to the students as an advisor and friend rather than an educator. A professor should know what each year is capable of handling and not just show creatures that he deems fun and interesting. Third years shouldn’t meet real hippogriffs if there is any chance that bad words or evil actions can lead to severe injuries. Safety is a key and I know Hagrid means well but it is something that can’t be overlooked. So for Hagrid’s lack of pedagogic knowledge I think he should be removed from his position. I don’t doubt his vast knowledge of creatures I just worry about the safety of the students taking his class.

I don’t think that Professor Sprout should be fired. She definitely needs to take actions against the bad language used by the students in her classes but otherwise I deem her to be a very competent professor who knows what she is doing. Group work I deem to be a great method for learning together and as an individual. In a group you as a individual benefit from the knowledge of others and can with their help broaden your own knowledge and skills in herbology.

I agree with the High inquisitor that Professor Snape is highly competent and has good control of his classroom. How he gets control of his students can though be questioned since intimidation isn’t a method in my book that should be used to gain the respect and trust of his students. Overall though I think with Professor Snape’s vast knowledge in many areas including potions he is an asset to Hogwarts. This isn’t a popularity contest but Professor Snape isn’t exactly known for his people skills, professors are though not hired on those grounds so I’m not going to go into that. Professor Snape should therefore in my opinion not be fired.

Ingrid rolled up her parchments and handed them and then sat and awaited her verdict. Was her opinions good or not?

Pierre had no idea what he was supposed to do now. He was going to ask, when the image of Rubeus Hagrid appeared in front of him. He was so stunned that he almost lost his train of the thought and what he had to do: fire Hagrid. "Well, you are constantally endangering the students by bringing in animals that are far too vicious for them to handle. Also, you make a point to try and be good friends with some of your students. Being a teacher comes before friendship." He thought his explanation was good enough. He hoped he could move on.

Gavin looked over the paper they were all given, listening to Miss McArdle as she spoke explaining the class. So it appears we are to evaluate those past professors he thought to himself as he picked up an available quill. Shouldn't be too hard he added and went to work reading and writting his comments and a final answer.

Divination is in no way and an exact science and I do believe it is impossible to 'force' a prediction just for the sake of example. Therefore just because she can not do as asked on the spot does not mean she is totally incapable.

While Professor Hagrid is a bit lax in his control of his class, he can not be fully held responsible for the actions of magical creatures with which he deals with. There will always be accidents. With proper improvement he can be a valuble source of knowledge for students.

Professor Sprout is a gifted professor in her field and like hagrid can not be fully held responsible for the actions of those in her class. Granted discipling a child for language might be a good idea but not proof that she is a bad professor.

Finally while Professor Snape appears to be the most knowledgeable in his chosen field, he is perhaps too knowledgeable. One must remember that not everyone can be a potions expert so the level of diffuculty of the classwork should be applyable to the average student not the gifted. Therefore I chose to fire him for perhaps he is better suited for being simply a great potions master.

Writting down his final decision of firing Professor Snape on the last page, Gavin laid down his quill and waited for the next step.

Jade listened carefully to what the Department head had to say and eyed the pamphlets before her. The task ahead didn't sound all that difficult, but she did need to put herself into another's shoes to truly understand the magnitude of such a decision. She wasn't a parent and she didn't have any siblings, making the decision a bit more difficult for her to wrap her mind around.

Thinking over just what she had heard, she picked up the pamphlets and began to read through them, taking notes accordingly as she thought over how she as a former student felt and how she as a concerned adult felt. She wasn't about to go into such a decision with little to no thought.

Pulling out a pen, she moved to the back page and began to write her findings.

After reading the enclosed information, it is clear that the once High Inquisitor of Hogwarts, herself is rather a judgmental examiner. She appears to lack the common knowledge that is needed to accurately assess the teaching abilities of her peers at the time, but that neither here or there. With her limited knowledge of the findings she documented are biased at best, but given this is the only information that I am giving, I must do what I can with what is given.

Charms: It does appears that Professor Flitwick's demeanor might not be suited for the task asked by High Inquisitor Umbridge, but in any lesson there is a potential for mishappen and that doesn't necessary become the fault of the teaching style of the professors. The high level of merriment can also act as a buffer for those new students that are unfamiliar with being in a new situation, such as a new school. The welcome-ness of Professor Flitwich should be seen as a perk and thus shouldn't be used to chastise him. Perhaps a review of Ministry standards is necessary but lost of position is not warranted in the least.

Divination: Very much like the High Inquisitor, I myself have very little knowledge of the art of Divination, but I do believe that it is not a science and that it leads way to much interpretation and wild guesses. Professor Trelawney's lack of ability to make predictions on debate should in no way dictated her ability to teach. It's very possible that perhaps her teaching style is better suited for a smaller group of students or maybe more one on one teaching. She lack of focus and direction in leading her lesson in large groups is of some concern and perhaps a review of proper lesson structure is needed.

Care of Magical Creatures: Given that Professor has a history with a number of his students and they seen to be able to understand him, the lack of ability to understand the professor is not a valid point. It is true that his curriculum is rather dangerous for the students that he is teaching and that is a reason for concern. There does seem to be a slight misunderstanding between what Professor Hagrid's purpose is. It appears that even though he, himself, is comfortable around said more dangerous creatures, he is putting his students in danger and as a professor he not only is there to educate but also to protect as needed. There is a serious need to review certain protocol.

Herbology: Given Professor Sprout's vast and sound knowledge of her subject, there doesn't seem to be a need for her to go through any large of amount of change in her curriculum or her teaching style. The use of groups in her lesson plan is actually a good teaching tool, as it helps those understand the subject more clearly. A sign that one knows a subject and is comfortable with it, is to allow them to teach others. The use of groups is something that should be encouraged in controlled environments. Herbology as a whole is a subject that involves hands on experiences and that is what Professor Sprout seems to incorporate into the lesson. The alleged use of foul language is a concern and if it becomes an issue, should be taken care of. But as it stands Professor Sprout seems to have a rather good grips of her lesson and students.

Potions: Given the long tenure that Professor Snape has had at Hogwarts, his teaching style might be frowned upon. His blatant favoritism for his house is of concern, but could also be a driving force for those in the other houses to best his and thus appeal themselves more. His somewhat strict manner sof teaching would concern some and might be deemed unfit for the those he is teaching, but he's skill and knowledge in his subject is a quality that is needed. The curriculum is a bit tough for the age group but a challenge is what is sometimes needed to help motavate some. Professor Snape also doesn't seem to baby any student and constant acts to keep standards high. Some might see this as sheer spite for other houses, but in the spirt of competitiveness this shouldn't be an issue.

Given the following, the only recomemmenation I can give would be that Professor Hagrid be fired. He doesn't seem to entirely grasp the the fine balance of teaching while keeping his students safe. A truly perfect learning enviorment is one whre students can learn and not be in the direct path of danger. If he was to perhaps have a better sense of control over what he was teach, the danger involved wouldn't be a factor. Yet, as of this time, his grasp is not to standards and he's willingness to expose the young to such dangers without the proper protycal is grounds for his dismissal.

On the other hand, of all the remaining candidates, Professor Snape seems to be able to both provide a standard level of teaching to his students. His teaching style and technique is questionable at times, but he's knowledge is rather valuable and he seems to be an asset to the staff. He is not a perfect professor, fair from it but given all the information he is the most constant professor and does his job well.

Setting her pen down, Jade glanced back over her findings and felt rather proud of herself. This was something she wasn't at all used to but still managed to challenge her so. Giving her answer a final look over, she replaced her pen and glanced up toward the front.

However, I do agree with Miss Umbridge ever so slightly about Professor Sprout's allowance of foul language in the classroom. Yes, I understand why she allows the students to use such language, though I also think that it shouldn't be allowed, as it influences and teaches horrible habits and manners to the children. Surely a teacher as smart as Professor Sprout could have thought of a more imaginative means of letting the children express themselves when they get attacked by Devils Snare?

Lastly, it is VERY clear that Miss Umbridge liked Professor Snapes teaching a lot. She liked how he 'controlled' the class. And how he used fear factors to scare the children into being so terrified that they daren't breathe in his class. Teachers are supposed to be people that students can go to for help if they need it, and I don't think that Professor Snape portrays this image of a teacher - No student would want to go to see him in their free time.

After thinking through this, and summing up what I think of the teachers and the reports, it is very clear that all of the teachers bring both positive and not-so-positive contributions to their teaching. However, they all bring something positive to the school. Ideally, the teacher that I would choose to fire is Miss Umbridge, because she is the only teacher who, in my eyes, brought NOTHING but trouble and misery to the school. She was biased, selfish and considered herself too much like Minister Fudge, who didn't so very much good for the Wizarding World himself. However, seeing as this is not an option, the member of staff I would choose to fire is Professor Snape, and that is because I feel that he terrorises and scares more of his students than the number of students that he sucseeds in teaching.

I think it is in the student’s best interest that Professor Trelawney will be replaced by someone who can teach the art of Divination and have control of his/her classroom in a way that further rather than hinders the student’s education.

I love Professor Hagrid dearly but in the best interest of the students of Hogwarts I think he should be removed from his teaching position. Hagrid is as I see it of better use to the students as an advisor and friend rather than an educator. A professor should know what each year is capable of handling and not just show creatures that he deems fun and interesting. Third years shouldn’t meet real hippogriffs if there is any chance that bad words or evil actions can lead to severe injuries. Safety is a key and I know Hagrid means well but it is something that can’t be overlooked. So for Hagrid’s lack of pedagogic knowledge I think he should be removed from his position. I don’t doubt his vast knowledge of creatures I just worry about the safety of the students taking his class.

I don’t think that Professor Sprout should be fired. She definitely needs to take actions against the bad language used by the students in her classes but otherwise I deem her to be a very competent professor who knows what she is doing. Group work I deem to be a great method for learning together and as an individual. In a group you as a individual benefit from the knowledge of others and can with their help broaden your own knowledge and skills in herbology.

I agree with the High inquisitor that Professor Snape is highly competent and has good control of his classroom. How he gets control of his students can though be questioned since intimidation isn’t a method in my book that should be used to gain the respect and trust of his students. Overall though I think with Professor Snape’s vast knowledge in many areas including potions he is an asset to Hogwarts. This isn’t a popularity contest but Professor Snape isn’t exactly known for his people skills, professors are though not hired on those grounds so I’m not going to go into that. Professor Snape should therefore in my opinion not be fired.

It's very possible that perhaps her teaching style is better suited for a smaller group of students or maybe more one on one teaching. Chloe stood by with a satisfied smile on her face and folded her arms across her chest. She had passed this challenge on her first try. This was a piece of cake. She stood there silently, looking around at the progress of others, waiting to be told where to go next.

Slowly dragging his feet along as everybody started heading towards the Ground Level Michel couldn't quite hide his annoyance at the whole thing - nor did he try to. Now what? He had just arrived her yesterday and now they were supposed to be all nice and social and find the Minister? Why did he have to do that? Weren't there other people to do that? If they needed somebody to make a plan of what to do or something then he was their man but THIS?

He didn't even know this person so why was he the one to go look for her...or something. His grey-green-ish eyes widened a little, however, as he entered the room with a few other people and immediately took a seat at the way back of the room, away from everybody else. Hopefully they weren't supposed to work as a team. Or at least hopefully nobody expected HIM to partner up with somebody.

Raising his eyebrows ever so lightly Michel listened to the dark-haired woman who explained stuff about proper and inproper teaching methods. Why did he feel like being back at school? Twirling his quill between his fingers he nodded more to himself than anybody else as he read through the pamphlet they had been handed. Oh, good, no team-work then. Phew. His eyes scanning the page for a moment he made a few notes here and there before he finally turned the parchment to start to write.

Pippa pouted once more as the illusion blew his nose into a handkerchief, and mouthed "I'm real sorry" once more, before breathing a sigh of relief as the illusion disappeared. Thank Merlin for that. Now. Where to next?

Robert walked into the room, and listened to instructions. He wasnt an educator, he was here to clean the ministry. Not fire teachers, based on reports.

With a sigh, he took out a quill and started writing.

He must have some authority in the classroom, in order to have a safe, and controlled enviorment for the students to learn in.

I beleive the professor most capable for their position is Professor Snape. Though the potions that he teaches may be above the age level, he, unlike Professor hagrid has more controll over his class. Keeping the students in a safe enviorment, while still educating them. He has the skills to teach difficult potions without major acciedents, though with potion making always comes risk of getting something wrong. He has enough controll to keep everything in check, in order to keep these mishappenings to a minimum.

Well there now that wasnt too bad. He couldnt bare firing someone to their face though, but it seems like it must be done. As he looked around at the many illusions

Antigone swung her feet as she looked around the room from atop her desk. YAY!! Everyone was doing so well. It made her almost tear up with pride. *Sigh* Yeah but that wasn't in her character. Nope. She just smiled as she watched the illusions pop up and disappear. Seems some of her pupils were a bit... rude to the illusions and that made her want to throw rocks at the, but meh... Whatever.

Nikos nodded his head at the half giant, good man. When he dissappeared, he sighed glad to be over with that part of the assignement. Looking around, he stood and walked out of the room to the next level.

I'd be suprised if there were many students that could do that. You terrify students, which I do not think is fair, as it will affect them in not only YOUR class, but other classes, also." Helena paused to think about what to say to the illusion next, "Also, Some of the work you set is much, much more advanced than the level that your class is working at. You're idea of 'basic' is not that of mine, a parents. I know full well that the majority of children would not cope working under your conditions at the level you expect them to. Some do manage to complete the work you set, but in an UNBIASED way, they won't have completed it very well, and that, Mr Snape, is why I am firing you. And also, lower your eyebrow. It's very rude."
