It was the only way she could have apparated. "Also, what was the specific park you were at? And what authority did you have to yell at them?" Dee closed her eyes again, rubbing them with her fingers. “It’s a little green space near our house. I.. I don’t even think it has a name. Two men. About my height, but younger. They were arguing. He figured that question would be important too since depending on if she was a muggle that could impact the procedure he needed to use. Of course he'd heal her still but then he'd have to obliviate her afterwards. “Did.. Did I make it to the ministry?” Dee looked at the man crouched down in front of her before looking around the room. “I was on my way to the Leaky. I.. Dee tried to push herself up using her injured arm, but slid back down to the ground. “Is she here,” she repeated meekly. Quote:

Originally Posted by SenoritaMaxie Marina resisted the urge to raise a brow -- this, this truly was a challenge. She had no idea how she could possibly complete it, if Dee would be this difficult, to talk to. But, that said, there was also what her mother always said about stubborn children - "They don't have to want a bath, to be given one, when they're dirty."
Which was exactly the principle she was going to follow, right now. "Get comfortable," she said firmly, using her wand to place a cushioning charm, where Dee was sitting. There. Now the dummy could be more comfortable, whether she wanted it or not. Then she flicked her wand, using Tergeo to clean up Dee's rather serious wound - she had a feeling the 'woman' was not fully aware of it, yet.
That out of the way, Marina raised her head to look at the challenge host. "We need a healer," she said, politely. "Case of bone and tissue damage, I can't fully heal the injury. We also need -" She paused, slightly. "An Obliviator." Well, not really - Marina was a fine one, herself. But, given that this was a 'planned' set-up, she could not possibly go back, to where Dee had 'come from,' and alter memories, or anything. Besides, it's always best to leave such matters, to the people who are officially there, to handle it. Bottom line? The only option that her logic had left her with, right now, was to turn to the host.
She turned back to Dee. "It would help, if you could give me the exact location where you apparated from, and describe the muggle that chased you. The Ministry could help you get back your jewels, miss." There would probably be a bunch of muggles that needed memory modifications, but the muggle Dee had mentioned was, of course, be the central character. "I know you claim not to require assistance from the Ministry, but the Ministry requires your assistance, Miss Zaster."
This challenge - was tiring. “Thank you,” the dummy clipped as she moved herself over to the cushion. Her expression softened somewhat as she got comfortable. At the words ‘bone and tissue’ damage, however, her expression became one of shock.
Looking down at her hand, Dee gasped. “I.. I didn’t even feel it,” she said, stammering. “I’m… I’m sorry. I’ll answer any questions you have. I’m.. usually such a good apparator.”
Dee’s eyebrows furrowed in concentration. “I was walking past the bridge when this muggle, well, I assume it must have been a muggle given that he chased instead of cast, jumped out from behind the corner of a building and grabbed for me. Naturally, I ran.”
Dee cleared her throat. “I rounded a corner and tried to apparate home. Clearly, I missed.” |

Christian smiled kindly. "See if you can get anything else from her, and then tell me what you would tell them." Marina registered the sudden shock on Dee's face, and realized that the woman had really not been aware, of the damage to her hand. The Division Head could not help but feel sorry -- splinching is never a nice experience, even if you realize it has happened, quite a while after the event actually has. "It's okay," she said gently.
No need to apologize, yep. A messy situation could make just about any one cranky, nothing to worry about, there.
"It's okay, you're here, now." She gave Dee a kind smile, before giving Mr. Trumbull a polite nod -- her way to show that she had registered his words. "We'll have everything sorted out, in no time. In the meanwhile, you can give me any other information, that you think might help us in assisting you. Can you describe the muggle who chased you?"
Hopefully, a healer would take care of Dee's hand, as quickly as possible - the whole situation had grown so much on Marina, by now, that she had forgotten Dee was just an animated dummy.
Was that a good thing? |

Benjamin stood up strait and fixed his suit and tie. "Thank you, sir." he said with a smile.
"Well, if you gave me another minute I would have been able to tell you the exact location of where the scene took place, but since we don't know, we'll have to send this case to obliviators (I'm not really sure what department they're in), Ministry security to find out how exactly she could possibly apparate to the ministry, and the MLE to figure out where the incident took place and to find the duelers."
"Hm..." Benjamin said trying to get a good story. "How bout after we bring her back to the park, we pretend they, the kids, were playing baseball or kickball or something and Dee here was the referee. But then some older bullies set off fireworks and Dee shooed them away and the kids were happy again. Cheezy, but it would work." Ben felt proud of how he did in this challenge.

Turning to Christian, he said "I am ready for my Dee" with a nod and a smile. “No one is ever ready for me, honey,” Dee said sassily as she tapped the man on the shoulder, other hand on her hip.
An eyebrow was missing and part of an ear-lobe, though the ear injury did not look fresh. Quote:

She guarded her shoulder from the man; the stain had grown larger, the cloth hiding a section of missing shoulder.
“I won’t let you help me until I know someone’s looking for my Cathy. Well, she goes by Cat. Has her father’s last name: Astrophe.” |

From a lot of things she didn't want to remember.

"I've cleansed her wound, but there's nothing else I could have done. She needs to be taken care of, immediately. I believe she could also do with a Strengthening Solution, or an Energy Drink. Now, for the 'obliviator team.' "She was chased by a muggle, on a bridge -" She stated the correct location. "He took her jewels, and apparently looked like Mr. Trumbull, here." The corners of her mouth twitched into a smile she could not hold back. "She tried to apparate, but left two fingers behind."
Eep.

Reaching down to the pile of envelopes at his feet -- much easier than rummaging! -- he grabbed one and handed it to the woman.
(PM on the way)

Reaching down to the pile of envelopes at his feet -- much easier than rummaging! -- he grabbed one and handed it to the woman. Oooh. "Thanks!" Marina said. She was beginning to feel more cheerful, now -- to feel like she really was getting somewhere. Learning, too, while at it. That was honestly a great feeling.
"I'm pretty sure you aren't," she gave the Head a smile, as she accepted the envelope. It felt kind of bulky. "It was a pleasure, getting to work with - and learn something from - you, Mr. Trumbull. Have a nice day." She gave him a friendly nod, before moving away.
Now for the next challenge. |

“I was home alone.” Ronan felt his face flush gently as Dee cooed over his strength. ‘No charms on the house.’ He thought with a clenched jaw with his own experiences of lack of security around his apartment when he lived in Nevern Place. “Right, well other than your leg here, are you aware of any other sort of injuries or body parts that may have been left behind when you escaped?” he asked in a kind voice so as not to frighten the woman in her distressed state.
Ronan pulled out his wand and remembered the spell that was needed so that he could clean up Ms. Zaster’s leg wound. “Ferula.” he murmured to conjure bandages so that he could wrap her leg in it. The young man looked down on the floor that had a bit of strawberry sauce that was supposed to act as blood. “Tergeo.” He pointed at the small pool so that he could clean it up. “Were the robbers Muggles?” he asked looking up at Dee Zaster trying to get more information as he began to bandage up her leg for the time being.

“I won’t let you help me until I know someone’s looking for my Cathy. Well, she goes by Cat. Has her father’s last name: Astrophe.” Turning back to the Department Head Skander signalled him over before stating, "She says she wont let me heal her until her daughter is being looked for. Could we please send someone out to look for a Cat Astrophe?" Skander asked, figuring that if this were a real life situation someone would need to look for the daughter anyway.
"See we're going to get help for your daughter but can you please not put any more pressure on your arm and let me know exactly what you believe to be wrong with it? I'm sure that your daughter wouldn't want to find you injured ma'am." Skander said, trying to coerce her into letting him know what was wrong with her so he could pass the level. In his opinion she was being very difficult.

Humour aside it was time to get on with the challenge. A quick once over with the eye determined that an eyebrow, and a section of the lady's ear-lobe was missing. Prometheus was certain that the eyebrow was the result of splinching, however the earlobe he was not too sure. "Well, before we get started with rememdying some of your injuries, I must ask; where were we apparating from, where were we headed, and why?"
He needed to get the general jist of the situation, before he breached the topic of the missing ear. |

| Raspberry Jam | #ChocolateFrogFamous | Ultimate Fangirl Lucia turned the key that she was given from the previous task then passed through into the next room looking around anxiously. As she listened to the next challenge, she contemplated it for a moment. Splinching? That would be... interesting.
She wasn't really sure whether this task would be difficult or easy but walked over to the dummy with confidence, as that would probably advantage her in the end. As she approached, she waited for a response from the dummy that was called Dee.

| The REAL Sorting Hat: "Ravenclaw!" This monkey is bananas. Darius unlocked the door which lead to his next challenge his face hopefully it would be something easy like the last one had been. Entering through the door he smiled at the man and listened to him speak. Splinching? He winced in sympathy, knowing only to well how that could go. He himself had had several splinching accidents so he knew what he was doing.
Nodding to the man to let him know he was ready, he kept his wand inside his holster lest he get a Muggle. Muggles were strange people, sure he loved them but when something magical happened around them they got weird. He was prepared though, he knew which spells to use, his mind already preparing himself for whatever situation might arise. He just hoped that it would be easy enough and he wouldn't be there for hours trying to calm a muggle-dummy down.

When she announced where she was from, he looked over to Christian and motioned for him to come over.
" Ms. Zaster has informed me that she lives in a Muggle neighborhood with her family. As you can see her leg is still at her home and I've bandaged her wound as best as I could under the circumstances but I believe that she should be tended to by Healers." the young man began taking a chance to clear his throat before continuing on. "I am under the assumption that Ms. Zaster's leg is still at her house and if the robbers were Muggles then they would see it and be alarmed by the sight so I feel that Obliviators should be sent to her house for precautionary reasons."

Masked by his external still façade, inside Prometheus was utterly shocked by the bluntness of Dee’s answer. It was obvious to him that he would need to involve his own department, MLE, for this as, underground dueling rings could cause not only physical harm, but could also breach the Secrecy Act.
“I must ask, were any of your injuries; missing eyebrows, fingers or earlobe, results of these duels, or are they all splinching related?” He thought it best to ask, incase this injuries were the trophy marks of this underground duel club. The Wizarding folk that lurked in Knockturn Alley were not your usual run of the mill Wizards, he had to tread carefully.
“With your permission, I would like to take a look at some of these injuries?” He said with a smile. |

He then proceeded to turn back to the victim.
Skander touched around the wound gently, trying to assess the damage and what would need to be done. As he wasn't a skilled healer he couldn't do too much but he could help a little. "I'm going to clear away the blood first so I can get a better look at the wound ok?" Skander asked before whispering tergeo, gratified to see the blood gone. He was also glad to see that the wound didn't look as bad when the blood had been removed.
It would still need healing though and he wasn't skilled enough at that to use episkey, he'd used the same spell not a month before and had ended up making the wound worse. He knew his limits now so Dee would just need to be bandaged up so that he could take her to St Mungo's.
"Now your wound still needs to be healed but these spells aren't my forte, especially not episkey." Skander figured he should be honest with the woman if nothing else. "Because of that I'm going to bandage the wound and then take you to St Mungo's where your daughter can meet us." Now to conjure the bandages. "Ferula," Skander said quietly, waiting patiently for the bandages to appear.
Once they had Skander began to skilfully wrap them around the wound, making sure they were firm but not tight enough to cut off circulation. "If you aren't injured anywhere else I'd like to take you to St Mungo's but first did anyone see you apparate that shouldn't have?" Meaning muggles of course.

Erik walked into the next challenge and looked around. Leaning against the wall he listened to what they were supposed to do. Splinching. He flinched and shook his head. Nasty business that. Walking over toward the dummy in police mode now, "Hello Ms. Zaster is it? Care to tell me what happened?"
