| | Which is your favorite Harry Potter film? And why? Which is your favorite Harry Potter film?
And why?
The original eight film adaptations of J.K. Rowling's blew the world away, but which blew you the most away?! Why is that? Were the additional scenes given to Tom Felton in his portrayal of Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince what pushed you over the edge? Was seeing the Quidditch World Cup AND the Triwizard Tournament come to life on the big screen in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire enough to leave you stunned? Or perhaps Alan Rickman's unforgettable portrayal of Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 that propelled it to the top of your list? Whatever the reason, this is your space to share your favorite film and why! If I could choose more than one, I'd choose all of them, because I've watched each step at least three times, it's so interesting
Prisoner of Azkaban
I made more friends because of this movie

I loved Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire because it introduced us to other magical schools, to the Triwizard Tournament and to the rebirth of Lord Voldemort.
My favourite Harry Potter film is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, because it introduces you to the other magical wizarding schools, the Triwizard Tournament, and the Goblet of Fire.

Still torn between POA and GOF. POA gave us the introduction to the Marauders and Wolfstar. GOF (although it left out major details) was when things took a major turn and man, that graveyard scene - wooooo!

I like the Sorcerer's Stone the best because it's the first visual into Harry's world. It's not exactly how I pictured it, but I see the book and films as two different experiences.

I love them all so much, it's hard to decide! I want to say Deathly Hallows parts one and two because it was such a nice ending, but I guess I'll say all of them |

I feel like Goblet of Fire did such an amazing jobs and making the books come to life. It really expands our world away from just Hogwarts. You see the World Cup, Death Eaters, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. As well, we see new creatures and species like dragons and the Merpeople!

My favorite is the half blood prince. It sets the end off. I also love Snape so to see him evolve makes a great film/book.

Mine would have to be Prisoner of Azkaban. I love the dark humor and the quirky touches everywhere (the talking shrunken heads on the Knight Bus, Aunt Marge and her dreadful dog, so many more). I also really like the constant presence of clocks throughout and the complex way they interweave the plots from the different time streams (I know this is written into the books, but how they do it visually--like show the headsman's axe going down on poor Buckbeak and then, oh no, it's just a pumpkin!)

| My favorite HP film is Chamber
Chamber of Secrets is my favorite Harry Potter film because it is also one my favorite books in the series and Chris Columbus made a very faithful adaptation of it. I know thinking Chamber is one of the best HP books is a hot take, but I will explain my opinion in a later post. Stone and Chamber are the best HP films because they capture the tone of the books the best.

I debated between Deathly Hallows part 1 and part 2.
I ended up choosing Deathly Hallows part 1 simply because of all the drama- finally coming to a crescendo and fueling Voldemort's false joy.
It was an interesting film admittedly.

It used to be Goblet of Fire when I was younger, just because I thought the Triwizard Tournament and seeing the other schools was super cool. Now, though, it's definitely Prizoner of Azkaban. That movie just absolutely nails the balance between light-hearted and fantastical, and dark and grim, that the HP universe exhibits. Plus, Gary Oldman is just incredible as Sirius.

Yeah, Azkaban's a solid movie....saw a YouTube review of it, and the reviewer pointed out how the POA director begins shots through glass, setting up the camera to start thorough a window or at a mirror. Cool technique

Prisoner of Azkaban is my favorite movie, because of how much of a jump in quality in the child acting we saw. It also has excellent story structure overall, as many people love the third book best of all of them which it was based upon.

So hard to choose.. Philosophers Stone for introducing me to the Harry Potter world, Christopher Columbus was a great director for the first 2 films. Goblet of Fire for the different locations, sets and adventures. I loved the cinematography of DH I & II!

I love the Half-Blood Prince because it explains Snape's backstory and it includes Professor Slughorn who was my favorite professor at Hogwarts.
