| | Which Harry Potter book is your favorite? And why? Which is your favorite Harry Potter book?
And why?
The original seven works of J.K. Rowling captivated the hearts of young and old alike, but just which of them captivated yours the most?! Why is that? Were you transported along with Harry and his companions as an 11-year-old into the wizarding world in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone? Perhaps learning the tragic back story of Tom Riddle in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was more your cup of tea? Or maybe it was seeing it all come together in its epic conclusion with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows that truly captured you. Whatever the reason, this is your space to share your favorite book and why! Rules & Guidelines for this thread:- Before posting, please make sure you have read through the Newbie Process, Snitchseeker's Rules & FAQ, and perused the Site Resources forum.

Please do not talk about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Cursed Child, Quidditch Through the Ages, etc. in this thread. There is a place for you to share about those right here.

My favourite book is probably the order of the Phoenix because of all the coming together of all the major people you see throughout the book. Sirius' death is obviously sole destroying but I love the moment Harry has with nearlyheadless nick before the end of term feast.

It was the first big book that my mom read it to me. And I fell in love instantly. I just loved to think of me as a good witch and Harry's best friend.

GoF has always been my favorite due to the Wizarding world opening up with the likes of the quidditch World Cup and Triwizard tournament. seeing Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. and of course, the return of the Dark Lord. it was too good. just packed with action, excitement, and terror.
if I had to give give a list, it would probably go:
GoF
PoA
OotP
HBP
DH
SS
CoS

Prisoner and Goblet because Prisoner introduces Sirius Black and Remus Lupin and some of the backstory of Harry's parents, and Goblet is exciting to me with the tournament.

Probably Order of the Phoenix. It's an emotional rollercoaster of a book with the death at the end, the true return of Voldemort as well as the positive sides of it, the DA, Harry gaining the respect he deserves after Fudge led a smear campaign, and so on. Plus it's the first time St. Mungo's is referenced and that has always been something that has interested me greatly.

Prisoner of Azkaban because it gives Harry a link to his family and there was nothing I disliked about the way it unfolded

Prisoner of Azkaban because things start becoming more serious there and we also learn more about Harry's parents and their friends and Remus and Sirius are introduced here |

My all-time favorite book is probably Deathly Hallows. I don't know why. Probably because, more than anywhere else, it feels like childhood is over. Finally and irrevocably. That there's no way to bring the past back.
I grew up with these books, and I grew up with Harry. And after reading the seventh book, my childhood is definitely over - too adult things and issues are covered in it. Perhaps that's why this closing chord is so satisfying to me.

Story-wise, I like Chamber of Secrets best, but the first book will always hold a special place in my heart. I've read it so many times in my native language that I eventually started using it as vocabulary expanding material whenever I learned other languages, so in total I read it in four languages |

Goblet of Fire, because it was at the height of Potter excitement when it was released and I loved the tournament Quote:

Order of the Phoenix. I recall purchasing it and being told I wouldn't get it the day it came out. I got it the day of and I remember being so invested in it that I went through the grocery store reading it. They even put a sticker in it so that anyone questioning the book would know I came in with it and didn't steal it.

I like them all, but if I had to choose one, it’d be “Goblet Of Fire”. This is where the series takes a very dark turn, what with Voldemort returning and all, and it really reminds you that the battle between good and evil in the wizarding world is a very real one.

OotP is my favourite HP book because I think it has a lot of drama/conflicts that are well-written.

Deathly Hallows, I love the battle of Hogwarts, the revelations. Pity the movie didn't do it justice

I have only read the 5 first books, but for now my favorite is the 3rd. And if I judge for the 6, 7 and 8th movies, I don't think that one of these books could be more favorite that the Prisoner of Azkaban to me! 🥲

Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. Both of them really made the series richer.
