A rather large open space greets those entering the Owl Post Office; there are no chairs cluttering it, and the only real landmarks to be seen are two long, rectangular stone tables that seem to have been standing in place for centuries. The tops are marked with inkstains too deep to be removed, though every so often a person who has been leaning against them will find that he or she has picked up a trace of ink on their arms (or shirt). In the center of each is a small sign on a thin metal stand, asking patrons to not sit on the tabletops.

Climbing above the area is a set of staircases, each leading up to the upper level, which appears to be less than half the size of the first floor. At the bottom of these wrought-iron steps are signs cautioning customers to please stay off the second floor, because there is nothing up there of interest to those here to send letters.

Just past this area, the line for the Service Desk begins; to the right, the stations set up for those writing their letters can be seen. Off to the left are the postcard racks. Feel free to pause here for a quick conversation with a mate who may have wandered in just before you, or to put the finishing touch on that letter you may have already written.

Alright. Carter was doing this, finally. He'd promised Kurumi to send the muggle Poptarts way back in September. And now... more than two month later, here he was.

"Alright. Anything that you need to send to Kurumi?" he asked Destiny stopping at one of the tables in the entrance way. He sat the box on the table and shifted through it again. Alright. Good. The poptarts were still in there.

And yes, he did have to check. He'd been accidently "borrowing" boxes out of the care package every once in awhile. He just needed to make sure that he replaced said boxes.

Still, a late package is better than no package, and deciding that is wasn't that important where she wanted to listen to Carter give off a long speech about it, Destiny followed him over to the tables. She was almost tempted to slap his hands away from the box as he started rummaging through it again. He was going to look like a poptart if he ate anymore of them.

"I do have something for her!" Moving her hands from behind her back, Destiny placed the plate of, very carefully wrapped cupcakes inside the box. They were so much better than poptarts. "We were supposed to have a bake off." And even though they never did have that bake off, she wanted the girl to taste what she missed out on.

He turned and raised an eyebrow at his girlfriend. "You make cupcakes?" he asked. "How long has that been going on?"

And more importantly, were they edible? Because, if they were... well... Carter felt a little jipped. Wasn't making cupcakes a girlfriend thing? Where were his cupcakes, hmm?

Or cheesecake. He'd be perfectly fine if Destiny suddenly knew how to make cheesecake too.

Oh... and he should probably fill out that form thing. And so he did. He made a special point to inform Kurumi that Destiny never made him cupcakes. Ever so slowly, Destiny tore her gave from the box on the table to Carter. What did he mean by asking her that question? How long exactly had they known eachother? And did he miss a few Charms lessons back in Hogwarts? They were taught how to make cupcakes! And even before they had that lesson, she knew how to. Her and Evelyn had made a few trips to the kitchen for that.

"I do." she drawled, blinking at him a few times before her eyes were back on the box. Grabbing the flaps, she began folding them over so that Carter wasn't tempted to steal the cupcakes now. With the way he was talking, he was making like he would never eat a cupcake again. "And I knew how to for forever."

Waving her hand dismissively, Destiny leaned forward as Carter began filling out the form to ship off the package. She had to make sure he knew his address and stuff.. But, before she could even see the address, she spotted the note he had written to Kurumi and immediately ripped the quill from his hands. "Who knows if your poptarts are edible!" Scoffing, and giving her boyfriend quite a few looks, she pulled the piece of parchment closer to herself and made a quick little note at the bottom.

Pfft.

Mina quietly made her way into the Owl Post Office and headed for one of the long rectangular stone tables and set down her planner and purse. It was nearly December and she had to send out the invitations still. They all would have been out and delivered by now if it hadn't taken so much time for the printers to get them back to her. Seriously, she didn't want to bother her cousin about them. Jade had enough to worry about as is.

Opening her planner, she glances at her list of errands for the day and nodded. If all the invites were sent today, there would be more than enough time still. The wedding was still months away. Closing her planner, she reached over to her purse; opening it and pulling out a few stacks of addressed envelopes and her wand. Setting each stack apart from each other, she tapped each stack to enlarge them all back to their original size. There was a number of them and they would all have to go out today.

Untying each of the stacks, she started to divide them so it was easier for them to be sent out in groups. They were after all meant to be delivered all over the world. She did hope that they looked perfected to all the addressees. She had spent many endless afternoon and nights hand addressing each and every invitation as a gift to the bride. The things that she would do for her family.

Zahra was completely out of breath, laughing, BUT HAPPIER THAN SHE HAD BEEN IN AGES. Because in tow.... literally being dragged into this Post Office Foyer with her was NONE OTHER than MIKEY TOUSSAINT.

She'd FORCED him to sneak off with her. Literally, between their parents, they hadn't had a single private moment ALL SUMMER. The post office was the LAST place they'd look for Mikey and Z, RIGHT? ....right?

She put her hands on her knees and breathed...laughed... breathed.... all the while grinning like a loon up at Mikey. "You're welcome!"

Zahra had been a VERY welcome surprise when she had appeared out of nowhere and literally dragged him off. He had no idea where they were going but he didn't care either. They were finally together.

It took him a moment to realise where they were and he burst out laughing. "The Post Office? How romantic."

Michael looked at Zahra as she stood there trying to catch her breath and he didn't say anything for a moment, just used the time to take her in. It had been almost two months since he had seen her and his stomach gave a painful twinge.

He strode over to her and pulled her into the BIGGEST HUG EVER! "I missed you."

But it would have been a whole lot better if Zahra could have come along even if it was just for part of the trip. He didn't think it fair of his parents to separate the two of them for that long.

He looked at her again. "For someone who was supposed to be have been missing me all summer, you sure do look very good." In fact she was prettier than ever.

Well that was a shocker. Usually when Z was given money it went in one hand and straight out the other. "Aww look at you! Being all responsible like, babysitting kids AND saving money. Better be careful Z, you're starting to behave like an adult." Hehehehe. That was likely to set her off. "Does that mean it's your turn to pay when we go to Hogsmeade?"

Oh he could just imagine how his parents would react to that. While they did like Zahra, she was just a little too full on for them. "I think you would be the last person they would ask to sit for me. They're concerned about how much time we spend together." And apparently it wasn't just his parents who thought that.

"What's going on with Plymouth? I thought he liked me." Why was he going out and snitching to Mikey's dad about them?

Zahra shrugged, but her grin gave her away. She WAS turning into an ADULT. She'd told her parents as much, and Plymouth, and Copey and Cela and anyone she got stuck with lately. "Maybe I ALREADY bought you something from Hogsmeade with my money." AND YEAH, yeah. She'd pay. What else would she spend her money on?

She looked around the mostly empty foyer then tugged Mikey over to a wall, half hidden behind a rack of postcards. She sat. She made him sit, too.

They had some things to discuss about HIS parents and HERS and her brothers and junk. "That's not fair when they haven't let us spend ANY time together this summer," and for once, there wasn't a laugh or joke behind Zahra's voice. This was real, and REAL SAD, and definitely NOT FAIR.

"I dunno. He's ... I dunno. He's not my favorite brother right now. I think Cope and Cela will let us see each other in secret if you can get there."

She had already gotten him something? Michael grinned and held out his hands. "Where is it? WHAT is it?" He liked it when she got him gifts. She always gave the best gifts.

He went with her, not that he had a choice, over to the semi secluded area and sat down beside her. He of course knew this conversation was going to happen and while he would have preferred to talk about something else, Michael knew that this problem had to be addressed.

"No, it's not fair." He agreed quietly. He also didn't see a solution to this problem either. He may complain about his parents and whatnot but he wouldn't openly defy them either. He wasn't brave enough for that yet.

Michael have her a dubious look. "You really think so? You really think they'll go against the rest of the family for us?" He didn't know about Cope but he was pretty sure that Cela wouldn't.

"You think that will work though? Your father being who he is and my parents..." Did he need to say more? "They will have spies." Yeah it sounds crazy but it was true.

"Zahra." He began with a heavy sigh. "They don't hate you. They just think we spend TOO much time together." He was trying to understand where they were coming from but he just couldn't. He had known Z for as long as he could remember and he loved being with her. "I don't think that. You do know that, right?"

He placed his hand over the car to make her stop and he sucked his head so that he could see her face. "Right?"

"Zahra." He began with a heavy sigh. "They don't hate you. They just think we spend TOO much time together." He was trying to understand where they were coming from but he just couldn't. He had known Z for as long as he could remember and he loved being with her. "I don't think that. You do know that, right?"

He placed his hand over the car to make her stop and he sucked his head so that he could see her face. "Right?"

"If they think that, are they going to make you go to Durmstrang with Angelo?" Because they were in the SAME HOUSE, literally the same COMMON ROOM... for most of the year. Summer was short compared to the time they DID get to spend together.

Maybe she didn't want to talk about this anymore. She still didn't look at him, even though she knew he wanted her to. And she didn't answer his question either.

"It's the muggle sort that you roll backwards, then let it go." She showed him, putting the little Gryffindor hotwheel car on the floor, rolling it backwards and letting it RACE across the post office foyer.

That threat had actually come up. More than once over the summer. Michael had brushed it off as just an idle threat but by the end of summer, he had started to take it seriously. This information though he kept to himself because Zahra was already so sad. "No." The lie left a bitter taste in his mouth. "Look. I go to classes, get my grades up then they've got nothing to complain about." He could do it. He would do it.

This was not going very well. Michael knew Zahra well enough to know that she was going to try and ignore this situation. She didn't like the serious stuff.

"Looks like one of the cars my grandad used to drive." He stood up and went over to retrieve the car. "Nice paint job. Did you know that red cars are always the fastest?" If she didn't want to talk about the other stuff then they would talk race cars.

"You're faster than ME," Zahra conceded. "Now, anyway. Now that you grew legs and a big ole head and junk." She put her head on his shoulder and found his hand. "I don't know what I'm saying. I'm just ready for summer to be over."
