Ana put her quill down and yawned, glad to have finished her article at last. It had taken her more time than expected, but she'd finally completed her assignment on Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and how useful they can be to adults (to women in particular), not only for children as a source of prank material. Shuffling the parchments covered in her neat handwriting together, she decided to check how the others were going on. Besides, she had to find Mona, there was something she was going to ask her... |
Mona click-clacked through the journalist's desk area on her way to conference room, and paused briefly. "Good moorrrning everyone, I hope you all had a lovely evening and are rested and rejuvenated for a new day here." She certainly was; nothing could beat the magic of strawberry martinis in the evening and a clean, fresh, expensive blouse in the morning. "Can the section editors join Ana and I in the conference room, please? Sienna and Sergio? If you please." And she click-clacked her way to the conference room, hair swinging. |
Enrico had been working, for once, at a nice, steady pace. He only had a little ink smeared on his fist and he was really feeling like today was a productive day. Therefore, it was time for a break. Now where did I put that....that letter...? He started opening drawers of his desk, not knowing what he would find - a few Bernie Bott's beans there, a random silver spoon there, some old parchments from the desk's last inhabitant - and then he found it. The letter he'd been waiting to reply to. Rico stretched out his arms over his head and leaned back in his chair, thinking of a nice way to start it. Dear Angelina - there, that was good - how are you?... |

Her eyes were glowing, her new quill was simply perfect. Expensive. But perfect. Weren't her tastes like that? Sienna didn't expect to find someone in the room, shouldn't people be hunting down for news? Right. Because the news fly towards them. Like that could be believable. "Hi, everyone!" she said, a sweet smile on her face, she was always the happiest when she'd bought something. Still, Sienna continued to walk towards her own desk. Sighs. She would be happy with an office, not a single desk, but it was okay. Now she needed to sort some ad clients and find something that she didn't even remember needed to be found. Actually she knows she had to look for something, but that something was beyond her mind at the moment. |
Laaaaadies. ;) ;) Quote:
But talking to Egypt would be a nice distraction...she was a woman and a reporter, after all, maybe she could give him some writing tips? "Hellllo," he greeted her with a smile, leaning back in his chair a little. "I'm alright, not doing too bad today. How're you?" Perhaps she was having a better day today than that awful one with the big ole mean ole boss meetings. Quote:
Shame he kinda sorta had a girlfriend....kinda. There were so many good-looking ladies here. He sighed and ruffled his hair with one hand, slowly turning his attention back to the letter. |

"Oh, a story?" Rico chuckled and shook his head. "No naw...it's just uhm, a letter, that's all.... I don't write stories unless they're really really desperate for articles. I just smush stuff together for the layout." That was a totally accurate job description too. |
Wonderful lunch? Sienna stood up and walked over the two other people in the area... "Wonderful lunch, huh? Where?" she said with a smile, clearly she wanted to know the name of the place the woman had the wonderful lunch...just in case, you never know when you want to try something new, especially since she couldn't keep her lunch in this awful office. But she remembered something, "Oh, sorry...I don't think we've met...I'm Sienna, Sienna Knoll" 'News Editor' but she didn't add that, she extended her hand to the woman. And her head turned towards the man writing a letter, for half a second she wondered who the receiver of that letter would be, but it was none of her business, right? "You're in layout limits, I didn't know that" of course she didn't, and she'll probably forget that quite soon too, "I'm Sienna, as you probably already heard" she added another smile. |

"Ms. Knoll, pleasure to meet you," Rico leaned forward to offer her a handshake. "Yeah, I'm doing layout...I guess," he shrugged and threw his quill down on the desk. Chatting with the ladies was more important than finishing that just now. He turned back to Sienna and rubbed his chin with one hand. "I have a question for you, madame," he smirked a little and raised an eyebrow. "How did a lovely young lady like yourself - a fellow American, if my hearing's still sharp - come to work for the Daily Prophet way over here in London?" |
Miss Knoll? That was new. "You're a coworker, you may call me Sienna" she said. Sure, her father was the one who preferred everyone to call her Miss Knoll, but it just sounded soooo...not right. Perhaps society, or the people her family frequently visited, were the ones to address her that way, but she wouldn't want that at work. Unless they were people under her command, and this was not the case. "Yes, it's nice to meet you too....mmm, sorry, didn't catch your name...you will be?" she was entirely and honestly interested in the name, who knows when she might need his help. She nodded when he said he was from the layout crowd, really, what an easy job...just following Getti's orders and done... Sienna couldn't help to laugh softly when he addressed her as 'madame', "You know, this is the first time someone called me 'Madame'...it definitely doesn't sound right" her eyes were looking away towards the entrance, but where instantly focusing back on the man. "Fellow American?" her face denoted confusion, "That means you're American also...I couldn't tell you are" the last part was not supposed to be said out loud. "Oh, well, that's quite a story, really...it all started with Photography...and a few years...and then here I am" she smiled, that was all she was going to answer him. |

"Oh ok a letter. They are so romantic. Nathan just used to send me pictures and things like that. He's not really into writing love letters." She said with a twinkle in her eye talking about her husband. She looked down at him. "Not that you are writing a love letter." She said. "Well the layout is a very important job. I certainly have no idea what you guys do. I'm just a writer," She said. All that graphic stuff confused her to no end. |
Quote:
He chuckled to himself and shook his head. "Sorry, Sienna, I'll just stick to your first name then." Rico's dark eyes twinkled mischievously. "Really, you didn't notice my non-British accent?" He raised an eyebrow thoughtfully as he recalled a similar conversation with his coworkers at his last job. But she wasn't being so forthcoming, now was she? "Oh I'm sure there's more to it than that..." he swiveled in his chair just a bit. "We all have reasons for leaving home, now don't we?" And if she wasn't talking then neither was he. Quote:
He winked and glanced at the letter briefly. "Love...letter....er yeah..." he cleared his throat. "It's just for a friend. A very important friend of mine...I've been too slow writing her back..." he sighed lightly, almost imperceptibly. |
sorry i missed this Karla!! i love you!! Quote:
She smiled at the woman. "Pleasure to meet you Sienna. Egypt Greenwood," she took her hand and gave it a good shake. "That is a lovely name Sienna," She told her. Egypt shared her son's love of names. Quote:

Nathan wandered back into the main office from the dreaded breakroom cupping his sugary tea in both hands. There was no way he was going to be able to escape into there and have a nap like he used to in his old job. He figured that was why they made it so uninviting. He smiled at his colleagues and Egypt who were locked in conversation as he made his way over to his desk. He sat down, shuffling his position in his uncomfortable seat. Gosh. He really missed his large old desk and comfy chair in that darkened corner of the MLES office. He eventually settled, still aware in the back of his mind of a spring sticking into his bum (tomorrow he would bring a cushion). Doing his best to ignore it, he started to look over some of the articles for the next paper, trying to figure out how they were going to fit everything in. |
ooc: sorry I forgot about this...quidditch and all :P Quote:
She laughed softly, "No, I didn't...which is...well, not so weird, honestly" she said, shaking her head, "There's quite a few things I don't notice" and accents were one of those, "Where in the states are you from?" this, she was curious about, though she was more than positive that it wasn't from the same place as her. "Of course there is..." she started to say, as if she needed to clarify something, "...but, yes, a change of scenery is good for the soul" she said, and winked at him. Quote:
Her head turned, golden highlights reflecting on her hair, "Fairy Delights, huh?" Sienna smiled, she didn't know the place, sooooo...she was glad there was something new to try out. Her next comment made her laugh, "Oh, I know...sometimes" she shrugged, "And it's not even on purpose, some of those things are simply experiments that go right" especially when a wizard is involved. "Great to meet you too" there was a smile on her face, "Egypt...oh, I loved the country..." she commented, almost in a whisper, she sooo wanted to go back, but work was now calling for her. "Why, thank you...I...sort of didn't like it when I was growing up...I think that's quite common" maybe, just maybe. |

Quote:
"Uh uhhhm, yeah, so where were you changing your scenery from to here eh? I mean," wow that just made no sense, "Which state did you move from?" Rico's grin had gone slightly loopy now but he really was curious to find out more about the mysterious beauty right in front of him. |
Quote:
Was he staring? She couldn't help to look to her side, in case someone was right beside her and she didn't notice, but, ummm, there was no one by her side, soooooo....he probably just remembered something. She frowned, "What?" she said, because to be honest Sienna did not understand what he asked. Oh, goody! He was going to re-ask the question. "Can't you tell? I'm a California girl" ummm, how silly of her, "San Francisco is where I grew up" because she'd been going around and around since she graduated from school. "I do like it here, though, I have to thank Clara Belle for that" she said, and shuffled her hair to the other side. |
Quote:
He trailed off as she seemed to be giving him a weird look now. Erm...perhaps I should just look at my papers, he thought, running a hand through his hair to avoid eye contact. "California. Mhmm, I should've guessed." He nodded and just had to sneak another glance at her shiny hair. People from California always were the best-looking ones, weren't they? Like Miss Sienna Knoll. "San Frans is a cool city," Rico added, trying to deliberately not stare at her and instead look at the letter. Her comment about Clara Belle, however, made him whip his head back to her with a sharp glance and a questioning eyebrow raise. "You--- you know THE Clara Belle?" He gulped just a bit; Bridezilla was one of those women You Just Don't Cross, after all. "Can....can I ask how?" Please don't be like, best friends, please no no Merlin oh geez that would just ruin her pretty face.... |
Quote:
He was right, though, he should have guessed. Unless..."How long have you been in London?" she asked, maybe he'd been waaaaay too much time in this city, therefore, making him oblivious to where people are from, or more precise, the California people. And he looked at the letter in his hand...was he actually going to finish that? Because she could leave to her infinite amount of work, well, not infinite...it was done quickly if she wanted to. "Yes, it sure is" unless your family is still there, "I used to miss it some time ago" just a few weeks after she left in the first place.... AND THEN... She chuckled, "I didn't know she was called 'THE' Clara Belle" she said, looking at his strange reaction, "But, yes, I met her when she was Clara Belle, not Belle-Cooper" still, she called her Clara Belle, because no matter how much she liked Brennan as a Minister, she still thought it was an odd couple...or maybe a perfect match...whichever suited the best. "Sure you can....that doesn't mean I'll answer" kidding! "Friends of friends, nothing big...but she still got me the job" and being well-connected usually paid off, not that she was VERY well-connected. Just lucky. |
Quote:
...except that dash it all, Sienna Knoll was dazzling his eyes. "London...uh..." How long had it been? Three years now? Four? "A while?" Rico shrugged and tried to focus on her question. "I was working at the Ministry for a bit, got a transfer ya know, then I came here...meh. I haven't been home in a good five years I'd say." Now that was a shame. Almost like the fact that she was kinda sorta friends with the Minister's wifey. Shudder. "Oh yeah, THE Clara Belle. She's kind of intimidating, you know, to a guy like me." he chuckled slightly but his thoughts continued rambling. Did you SEE the woman's wedding? Sometimes I feel real sorry for that Brennan Cooper, poor sap, being married to that piece of work...not that Enrico would ever say that out loud. And never in front of a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-pretty-lady-like-Sienna. |
lol...'dazzling' Quote:
So, she smiled, "A while? That's not very accurate" Sienna stated, but didn't comment further, something else caught her attention, "The Ministry? Have you seen Brennan up close?" she still thought that he was quite the Minister, and poor man, all the things he's been through...*sigh*...Plus, he's nice to look at. Much like this fellow American. "You've moved around a lot, then" and so has Sienna, but she was mostly traveling around, not working per say. And her laughter this time sounded truly honest, this Rico was a funny guy, the way he said "THE Clara Belle" was simply hilarious. "To a guy like you? What's that supposed to mean?" AHA! This could be interesting. |
Quote:
"Yeah I worked in International Cooperation for a while," Rico leaned back in his chair as he spoke. "You know that's where Cooper started out, right? Great department." He winked and chuckled again. "Don't tell me you weren't invited to THE wedding of the century? That's about as close as I've been." And that was close enough, thankyaverymuch. He wasn't the best at keeping track of time...but hey, at least he spent his time well. "I've done more traveling than moving, I'd say...I don't like to be in one place for too long," Rico shrugged, being deliberatley elusive. "I think Italy will be my next home though, when I retire in about 40 years." He laughed and ran a hand through his hair. But her next question was where he always got in trouble with the ladies. Keep it cool, suave. "Well..." Rico shrugged, trying to seem nonchalant as he spoke quietly. "I probably couldn't keep up with her uh, lifestyle. I'm kinda low-key, see...but don't get me wrong, I'm sure she makes the Minister a very happy man." He trailed off with a bit of a fake smile, trying and failing to not dig a hole any deeper than he had already. Basically, Rico had the opinion that Clara-Belle Cooper was High Maintence and he was not. Mmmmhmmno, he avoided those women like the plague. |
go cooper! :P Quote:
Sienna nodded, although International Cooperation sounded kinda boring, no wonder the man decided to do something else with his life. Wait! "Really, I didn't know Brennan started out there" interesting, "So, this could easily mean that one day you can become Minister too" another good-looking one, suddenly the Department started to sound less boring. Aha, he didn't like the power couple for sureeeee, "I was, but couldn't make it...there were a few things that got in the way" including a silly muggle not wanting to sell his camera. Pfffft. Muggles are good for fashion. Enough said. Oh, and donuts...and many other things she couldn't think about right now. Speaking of donuts...she kinda sorta wanted one. "I had to settle with pictures instead" she said, sounding a bit annoyed by that fact. Mmhmm, she undertands. Sienna was also quite the traveler, so, she nodded again, her wavy hair moving at the same time she nodded. Then she smiled, "Italy? Really?" she seemed surprised, "A romantic country, indeed" 'cause love is always in the air when you're there, or so it seemed. But, the next answer was certainly more interesting than the rest, except for the Cooper ones, because Cooper was good, in a way, he just seemed to get a few things out of hand. Poor him. Anyway...NEXT! Lifestyle? Mmmmm, okay. Sienna shrugged, "Yeah, you don't like her, I see that" she can be loud at times, "Then again, you don't have to" a wink and a laugh, but it was true, he wasn't the one married to her. She sighed, "It's obvious that they have to appear happy, we don't know that...but I like to think they are" because who wouldn't want to make Brennan happy, anyway. |
go....Rico! xD Quote:
"Hehehaaa riiiiiiight," Rico grinned confidently. "Never mind that I'm not a native of this country and I'm hardly qualified for the job - you'd vote for me. Right?" He cocked and eyebrow, all in jest of course. But c'mon, who could resist Rico Suave? No? Mhmm. All those ladies at the wedding couldn't resist him, obviously. "Shame you couldn't be there," he said earnestly. "There was music and dancing and free drinks.... great time." As long as you didn't mind Bridezilla's temper tantrums here and there. His grin widened, if possible, at mention of Italy. "La mia stella brillante! Ahh, Italia." Rico swiveled in his chair a bit. "Yeah, my family has a small vineyard/firewhiskey brewery in Sicily...it's a great spot for vacations." Vacations reminded him of Angelina, suddenly, and he felt just a bit guilty having a beautiful woman sitting on his desk. But just a bit. "Heyyy now, I never said that exactly..." Rico returned the wink. "I'd like to think that all marriages stay happy... in case I ever get married some day..." waaaaay off in the future, yeah. ooc: la mia stella brillante = my shining star |
