An ancient (not antique, that would be optimistic) oak table with a scarred (are those claw marks?) surface takes up most of the floor space in this room. A mismatched assortment of chairs surround the table (you'll be lucky if you can find a swivel chair in here) where the editors are expected to meet weekly for their progress reports. Meetings with clients are also often held here, and everything that happens can be seen (but not heard) from the outside as the blinds that once covered the windows were unfortunate enough to have been in the way of a quarrel between a sorcerer and his transfigured (minotaur) brother. You are here. |

Done with that, Getti returned her attention to the Lifestyle editor, "Have a substantial plan drawn up by the end of the day or you will all be reading the Lifestyle section from your worn out sofas at home." "Y-yes, of course," Ana replied, glancing up only once from her notepad, where she was pretending to be making notes.
She blushed slightly, already feeling ill-suited to the job. And it was only her first day here! Don't let her get to you, Ana, come one, she told herself. She's just a bitter old woman who enjoys rubbing in the fact she's your boss, that's it.
Ana raised her eyes to the Sergio and his insolent expression, admiring how he had the courage (or ignorance, she wasn't sure) to stand up to Getti.
Whatever it was, it was certainly... different.

The last time someone had tried to make up scandalous gossip about a member of the Hogwarts staff, the Daily Prophet found themselves in a terrible libel case and that employee had ended up with a job as the under-conductor on the Knight Bus. The Prophet now had the completely advanced fact checking resources installed in the Archives to ensure everything that was printed was true.
"Double check everything you research, because you can bet I will be doing just that." She straighted up again, "Now Lifestyle, tell me what you've got going so far? What is the theme you've come up with this month?"
She resisted snapping her fingers to get the Lifestyle people to hurry up and tell her so she could comment on it already. She nodded at Getti. Wondering if the woman meant what she said or if she was just saying that because she had to. Digging up dirt on someone sounded just as gossipy as making things up, Quote:

Ana looked over at her collegue, desperate for some back-up, feeling unusally vulnerable.
She would really need to get a grip on herself soon, considering she would be working with Getti quite a lot in the near future. She looked to her editor as Getti asked what they were working on. Egypt liked the idea of writing about balancing work and home life. Especially with a woman running for Minister of Magic. "Yes Ana that is correct." She said smiling at woman who seemed like a niffler caught in the headlights. "I was also thinking about an article to get the romance back in the relationship with the children back at Hogwarts parents have a bit of freedom now." She offered. Quote:

"Personally, I find it very difficult to find a reputable establishment in which to share a meal with an eligible bachelor. Everywhere seems to have a hag in the corner. I can't enjoy a filet mignon with hag smell wafting over it. I would like to read about something like that if I were a commoner." She smiled. "Just a suggestion." Egypt smiled as she looked at the woman. "Well I've never had a problem finding a suitable place to have a fantastic meal, it might be that finding a suitable date is more your problem." She smiled. "But 89% of the witches in our circulation are married working women with children an article telling women how to juggle home life and work like might be better received." She told Mona. "And after all this newspaper if about what our readers want to read, not some article about a place for a common woman to have a common night on the town." She said emphasizing that woman's words. She didn't like these woman at all and she was not going to sit by and be talked down to like she was a two year old.
Egypt hated the fact that she was being mean, but it seemed to be the only language they understood, and her sitting by letting them treat people that way was telling them it was alright for them to treat people that way. And so was not going to condone their horrible behavior.

Air, precious air, flowed back into her lungs. It would have been even more precious if it weren't laced with heavy syrupy VILE cologne. She gagged slightly.
She cleared her throat. "We are...indeed, your bosses, Sergio," her voice slightly hoarse and dripping with disdain. "And the very first thing I must ask of you," she said, click-clacking towards him slowly, "is that you NEVER place your shoes on any surface in this office again. Secondly, I must ask that you lay off the cologne, because no one can work whilst being asphyxiated. And thirdly, I must ask that you speak with me immediately following this meeting if you hope to remain employed here." Sergio was not amused by this lady. He had hoped at least one would be palatable. He felt the strong urge to send a bludger right in her direction, but he neither had the bat nor the ball to do so. He merely sat and stared up at her. And then she mentioned his cologne, the Armani solution which cost him a fair amount of muggle pounds. He happened to know it smelled wonderful and had attracted a fair amount of ladies to him. "I'm sorry the smell doesn't please you," he replied, lips curled with annoyance. "Good to know you appreciate it so much, I'll be sure to bathe in it next time," he said flatly, not backing down. "I'll be there afterwards," he told her, referring to the meeting. He knew he would be in trouble, but he wasn't phased. He was the kind of man who could get out of almost any predicament. It only required the right amount of charm, looks, and money. Quote:

"Mancini," she began thickly, sniffling, "At this juncture, we would ask you for a report on where you and your team stand with the current issue. Suffice it to say that we expect you to produce an astounding section this issue, or woe betide your soul. Ms. Paige," she said abruptly, "What are you planning for this issue? Please give us a reason to keep the Sports section." As if we would ever get rid of it, it's way too popular. But if cutting the Sports section meant losing Mancini, she'd consider. For her sinuses' sake. If Sergio had ever held a job before, he'd have known he'd need something to present. But seeing as he stumbled into this out of the blue, he'd need to fake the report, something he'd done many times at Hogwarts. "Erm... right. Well we're going to write a lot about Quidditch. I got a mate who's coming out with a special line of quaffles with his autograph on them, we can cover that!" he said confidently, completely believing one-hundred percent of his presentation.
He was beginning to this he wasn't very welcome in this establishment. "You know, I don't think I like the tone you are taking with me. I'd have thought you'd be honoured to have someone of my calibre at your rubbish establishment!" he said, getting more and more worked up, exhibiting his temper that made him so infamous on the pitch.
He wasn't afraid of being fired, because he had an ironclad contract worked out by those ladies' boss. He couldn't be fired, lest the Prophet lose a lot of money in the process. "Perhaps you two ought to talk to your bosses before threatening me with unemployment!" he said before sitting back down in his chair, calming down.

Getti had had enough of all this childish behaviour. She rolled up the parchment bearing her notes and smacked it on the surface of the table, "That will be all. If you would all stop being children long enough, we can end this meeting."
She eyed the Greenwood woman for a moment, "Insulting the character of one of your superiors is hardly the way to go about balancing your career, and you," She turned her steely gaze on the obnoxiously loud (in terms of sound and smell), "Nobody is indispensible in this organization, you would do well to get it through your head that your days of glory and chasing around balls are over, Mr. Mancini."
She tucked the rolled up parchment under her arm and looked at the room at large, "Right..." her voice took on that sickeningly sweet tone once again, "The sports section, I'd like to get some interviews with... up-and-coming talents who might also be possible front runners for the National team, also, talk to the Head of Magical Games and Sports and find out if they have any plans of getting rid of the old team manager, that man was a disgrace to our country."

Now the other broad was attacking Sergio. He held his head up high, smirking to herself. He knew perfectly well the terms of his deal, and perhaps sending an owl to the owner of the prophet would do some good. He made another mental note to ask his agent to get on that. He wouldn't be treated like an insolent brat.
He caught the end of the woman's instructions. Of course he didn't pay attention and didn't know where to begin, but he nodded. "Why don't you go and tell that to my writers," he said sincerely. He stood up and stormed out of the room. He had another verbal lashing to endure before the day was out, with the other editor. He really ought to have learned their names, or did they not give it? Sergio couldn't leave without making one final remark. "Later, love", he sneered in the direction of the editor. That ought to make her day, wait until she learns Sergio was untouchable.

Getti was seething, though to anybody watching her, it looked like she was simply wondering whether to have a cup of tea or coffee later.
She made a note to talk to the board later. Hiring a show pony was well enough if that pony stayed in his pen and didn't hinder the process of the Prophet publication. When they began to interfere however...
"Mona?" Getti spoke up finally, "That's all."
She walked past the assembled staff, out the door that ponce had just exited. That man was going to get a serious wake up call. Getti Forde was not just an employee, she was part owner of the bloody newspaper.

Tristan had, somehow, drifted off into his own thoughts when he was interrupted by a loud smack.
He looked over at Getti who seemed... Well not a whole lot more happier than she did before.
And suddenly there was a man storming out the door. What in Merlin's right earlobe did I miss? Tristan sat up straighter as he watched the man dissapear from view. I really must pay more attention to these things. Although he was quite sure that if the word 'Layout Editor' was uttered, he would have heard it.
And now, the meeting was really over. Yeah he knew as soon as Getti walked away aswell. Finally, maybe he could get to work instead of having to listen to this soap opera. "I need a milkshake..." Tristan mumbled as he stood up and made his way to the door.

Egypt cool and smile remained in place. "And insulting your employees is not the way to run a successful newspaper either Ms. Forde. We are just as capable as you in doing our jobs." She told her nicely. "Minus all the pursed lips and stare down contests." She added. It was people like her whom she tried to protect and guard her children from.
She smiled at the woman as she made a hasty exit from the conference room. She didn't know if she was up for a battle everyday she came to work. That woman hired her after all.

For her sinuses' sake. Jordan watched as the man that was supposed to be in charge of her walked in. Oh this was just great, Getti had aleady been upset with her ealier and now this man was jeopardizing the section that she was working on.
She watched as Getti got so irritated that she walked out of the room. Well this had been one dramatic first meeting. She knew that one of her bosses had already left, but the woman that had asked her a question was still in there.
Jordan had been jotting down notes and such since they had started talking. SHe really did want to make a good first impression. And after watching Ana's responce she didn't want to forget the details.
She looked up to Mona, "Well Ms. Quigley." She began. "As you Ms. Forde mentioned I'm sure the sports section will be covering the World Cup. I also think that it would be best if we intereviewed the Hogwarts quiditch professor." She said to her. She really felt odd answering this question seeing as how she wasn't in charge of the section but she had been asked a question so she was going to answer it. "We definately should also talk to the ministy to see if there is anything going on that we need to know about. See what new players are playing for what teams, and also as Ms.Forde mentioned find out how they believe Britain rates. I think it also would be good if we found out which players will not be returning this season." She finnished. Hopefully that was detailed enough.

| Yeahhh, Mr White! Yeah science! What!? That was it? Meeting over! Merlin's beard. Nathan hadn't felt so lost in all his life. Watching Getti abruptly leave following that orange brash fellow who smelled like a perfumery, he sat forward and rubbed his eyes with both hands, groaning inwardly. He'd ever met such a bunch of odd bods in all his life. ...Rude odd, not the lovable sort of odd you would find wrapped in newspaper huddled in the doorway of KFC.
He looked at the lap dog as he addressed his wife with such utter disrespect, his eyebrows raising as he watched her exit the room. “With respect, mate.” He said looking back at the photographer. “I would prefer it if you didn't speak to my wife that way.”
He stood up and shook his legs to try and wake up his bum a bit before he headed back out into the office. What in blue blazes had he let himself in for coming to work here with these poor examples of human kind!? GAH!

| Eagle Eye [⅓ Badger Trio] Felon & Kafka ♥ Gilderoy Lockhart <3 [TEAM 947!] Pffft. The silly campaign. That was something someone may have to work on. Entirely freshness that needed to be exploit. And who was doing that? Well, someone in the News Section, that's for sure.
Her eyes widened as such an intruder walked into the Conference room. How dare he walked in like that!? Either way, they weren't discussing the News anymore, they were onto Lifestyle. Oops, poor Anastasia, she should know better about addressing Getti. Confidence is not overrated.
Oh! And that man used to be a Quidditch player?! Now, that's overrated. She flipped her notebook open to write about the campaign. There was no way that she'll let Getti know that it was an item she'd forgot to include somehow. Which is why she wrote it later on.
She didn't listen to the rest, it was not her business. And who was that new guy that was writing so much? Actually she didn't care much for the man, but more for whatever he was writing. Curiosity. Such a tricky thing.
A smile came to her face as she heard "That's all". Finally! The not-so-needed meeting was over. And she'll have to address Ian on something, but maybe later. He was busy.
Sienna stood up in a graceful manner and walked slowly back to her desk...or that was the direction she seemed to be taking. |

But the meeting was over now, and good riddance. Rico stood up from his chair, stretching out his legs. Ah that felt good. And now back to the hum drum office and other chair. Sigh.

Mona marched into the conference room, whistling. She dropped her parchment on the worn table surface and took the seat at the head of the table. She was in a surprisingly good mood today, which was good for the employees. They'd find her even more agreeable than usual! Lucky ducks in a rooowwww. She crossed her legs and wiggled her YSL pump- adorned foot, waiting patiently for the section editors.

Ana followed Mona into the Conference room and sat down, waiting for the other section editors to join her.
She was feeling alightly surer now... well, more so than she had the previous day, anyway. she hoped this mood would last, she did not want to be reduced to a quivering jelly once more anytime soon.

| Eagle Eye [⅓ Badger Trio] Felon & Kafka ♥ Gilderoy Lockhart <3 [TEAM 947!] This was clearly too much of a disaster. But, of course, no one was going to ask her about it. Unless Getti brought up the advertisement selling within the only two in charge of it. Ian was probably having a better run at it. He always did.
Then, again, they were here to discuss something different. Right. How were the articles doing? Almost there. Almost. And the end was pretty near. The end of this edition, for sure.
Sienna walked inside the Conference Room, as confident as usual. She was not going to let the rest notice how stressed she could be. "Why, hello everyone...or Mona and Anastacia, at least" she said, and there was some missing peeps, but that was not her responsibility. |

Sergio casually strolled into the conference room. His last appearance hadn't gone according to plan, but this time he was prepared. After a few words with both his agent and his boss here, he knew he would have to pull things together or get fired, and his lifestyle couldn't continue without some steady income.
Though his demeanor was muted, his outfit was as bold as ever. He wore a grey suit with baby blue pinstripes, matched with a shirt of the same colour. Atop his head was a black fedora, his matching hair peeking out from undernearth. He took off his cloak, made of the same fabric as his suit, and set it over a chair. He lifted up his leather briefcase and set it on the table. "Well hello everyone," he said, approaching the group. "I don't believe I've met a few of you. I'm Sergio," he added humbly, extending his hand. He wanted to show Mona that he could be reasonable and charming and appropriate if he tried. People often thought he was an obnoxious, selfish, and self-absorbed man, and while some of that was true, he did have redeeming qualities. Here he was showing his charm, the same charm that attracted many witches over the years.

| Eagle Eye [⅓ Badger Trio] Felon & Kafka ♥ Gilderoy Lockhart <3 [TEAM 947!] Oh, that's right. Here's someone that was missing before, and she already knew who this one was. Sports Editor.
She eyed Mona, still trying to figure out how they could hire him, then again, she was not too experienced when she got here at first, but still, she behaved perfectly well, as she always did.
Without moving an inch, Sienna spoke, "Well, I know who you are, Mr. Sergio" and his last name, was? That seemed to be the only thing she forgot to listen to the past meeting, "You're the one who arrived late last time" and this time, she smiled, "But you probably don't know me, I'm Sienna Knoll, News Editor" photojournalist to be precise, but she's rather introduce herself the other way, "Nice to meet you...I guess" she said, shaking the man's hand. Because she couldn't be that evil.
Was someone else missing? Hopefully not, so they could get started and then handle all the bunch of stuff they still needed to get done. Sienna was starting to dislike deadlines. Yet, a donut may sound good right about now. Or after the meeting. Yes, that's better. After the meeting. |

Sergio gripped Sienna's hand loosely. He didn't want to crush her small, gentle hands. "It's lovely to meet you, Sienna," he said in his smooth voice. There was something quite charming about this lady, but he could sense that hesitation that he found in almost every woman around these parts. Clearly he'd made a bad impression... somehow.
He lightly pat her on her shoulder. "Ah you'll see, Sienna, I'm not so bad." He looked around the room. That was something they all needed to hear. "I'm not a bad guy," he announced, moving away from the woman briefly. "I used to play Quidditch, and now I do this. Any questions?" He stood there, looking at the small group. If they had any issues, they should tell him right then. He looked at Mona. "Good to see you're not sneezing... You're welcome," he said bitterly, wishing he could use some of his wonderful smelling aftershave. Perhaps he would later in the week he would try a dab of that.

| Eagle Eye [⅓ Badger Trio] Felon & Kafka ♥ Gilderoy Lockhart <3 [TEAM 947!] A frown came to her pretty face as he mentioned he wasn't bad, "But, I never said--" she didn't end the phrase, what was the point? This was a meeting, and...was Getti going to come? Otherwise they could just begin, right?
But he continued to talk. Oh, perfect, a Quidditch player. No wonder he was like that. Pffft. Sienna never liked Quidditch or Quodpot. It was such a silly thing to be called 'sport'. People on brooms playing with balls. Seriously. However, this man, sounded...nice enough. Or wanted to start over, at the very least. And Sienna believed in second chances, only two...no three or four chances. "I don't...think I have any questions, Sergio" she said, a small smile on her face. They just seemed to start off the wrong way, then.
She did not, however, understood the whole sneezing thing. Wait. Wasn't he the one that made her sneeze during the last meeting? Blah. She didn't know and didn't truly care. "Are we ready to begin, Mona?" she asked her, and eyed the pumps she was wearing for a brief period of time. Only 2 seconds. Yet, probably enough for Mona to notice, unless she was noticing the latest arrival. |

Sergio stood for a moment, then turned back to Sienna. "Sorry for the outburst," he apologised. He needed at least one ally in this job, and the girl seemed prime to accept him. He looked at his watch, though he wasn't sure when the meeting was supposed to begin. He just happened to show up at the right time, perhaps he'd get his assistant to follow up on calendar events.
After a beat, Sienna made a motion to get things started, something Sergio couldn't argue with. It was early for the partier, normally his days didn't start until the evening, let alone actually in the mornings. He had every intention of finishing this meeting and having a brief siesta at his desk.
He strolled, his strides so smooth it was as if he were gliding, over to his chair. He suavely removed his fedora and set it casually beside his bag. From that, he removed a quill, ink, and small notepad. He felt somewhat like a little boy at his first day of school, all ready for the lesson. "I say we get started, eh Mona?" he asked, leaning back in his chair, feeling very comfortable in the room.

Ana only smiled at Sergio when he walked in, and listened to what he said without a word. Once he'd taken his seat, she looked around, wondering briefly where Getti was, or whether she'd show up at all, before turning her attention to Mona.
"So... should we start?" she asked.
