Madam Malkin's the premiere location for quality robes. Although predominately known for providing Hogwarts students with uniforms, Malkin's also provides other robes to the Wizarding World for all functions -- formal and informal. Once in the doors you'll notice all of the racks around the shop, as well as heavy wooden furniture throughout for resting while looking for robes.
The space may look cluttered, but upon further inspection you'll notice that there is an order and flow making it easier to find the items you seek. In the back of the shop you will find dressing rooms to try on your latest find. Along the wall you will find Hogwarts apparel and accessories. Along the opposite wall are dress robes. In the middle sits a heavy wooden counter top, a glass bowl filled with candies sits beside a pad of paper where the shopkeeper will write up your total.
Can't find what you are looking for? Ask the shopkeeper and they'll be more than happy to help you find exactly what you're looking for. Still can't find what you’re looking for? Talk to the shopkeeper and they may be able to figure out how to do a customized order for you. Don't forget your socks.

Alyx Stone, a calm but brutally honest, first-year student about to make her way to Hogwarts, walked into Madam Malkin's for the first time. She saw the other students milling about but they all looked older than her. She wondered what life at Hogwarts would be like... Alyx was a muggle-born, with very little knowledge of the magical world. She didn't know how magic worked, she didn't know where it came from, and she didn't know any spells. She wasn't sure how strong her gift was, but when she was born a two week rainstorm happened and started while her mum was in labor. She was an only child, and her father worked as a Doctor. She didn't know much about his job either. She was still young and naive. She didn't ever feel at home with her parents. She just knew she was... "different." She was alone in Diagon Alley, her parents were not that supportive of her going to Hogwarts and said that, "this was a journey you must go on alone." Alyx needed to get everything she would need for the first year completely alone. She didn't want to arrive at school unprepared. She already had a trunk, She just needed to fill it. She was hoping it would have enough space for all of her things. She wandered in the shop looking to get all of her clothes she would need for the entire year.. "Uh, Hello? Can someone help me? I'd like to be fitted for my first year."

But I think my old skirts and trousers still fit me from my muggle uniform. They'll be perfectly fine.” She held the robes against herself and looked in the mirror. “I've never worn witch clothes before.” So the black shapeless pieces were something of a novelty to Rowan. She looked back at Trixie and smiled softly as she talked of Hogwarts and her own experience. “It will be so strange using magic all the time. I've had to repress it at school. It was sometimes a challenge.” She chuckled softly.
She took a step, about to head over to the shirts, when a girl spoke to her, obviously overhearing her conversation with Trixie. She noted the girl to be around her age. Rowan was doing well making acquaintances before even making it to school. It was good. Starting later than everyone else would come with it's own challenges, but this made it less of a burden.
“Oh yes. I'm starting this term.” The question must have been asked for a reason. And from it Rowan deduced that this girl was in the same situation and beginning Hogwarts later than the other students. “I take it you're in the same boat.” She offered the girl a warm smile.
It was for certain that Hogwarts didn’t endorse creative freedom when it came to uniforms which in the grand scheme of things was evidently a good thing but Trixie hadn’t thought as much as a teenager. “No, it’s really quite basic but at least it’s something easy to find.” She scoured through the rail looking for the right size which she pulled out and held against Rowan. “This one looks a better length.” The blonde folded it neatly over her arm before moving on to the next section.
“You can have as much as you need, sweetheart. Don’t worry about the cost.” Believe her, she never looked at prices. The perks of being from a wealthy family AND working extremely hard at her career to get to the point she was at now. “It’s not that different, it just might look a little odd at first. Unfortunately the magical community is a few decades behind when it comes to being fashionable” she giggled. For starters they still paraded around in cloaks and pointed hats.
“That never changes. I’ve lost count the number of times I’ve had to repress using magic around Freddie— your Grandpa’s extended family. It almost becomes too easy that you just forget.” She had passed fifty-five years without breaking the Statute of Secrecy however so it was going well so far.
As the other girl joined Rowan, the former Head Girl continued browsing around the shop and indulging in a spot of people watching. Her maternal instincts kicked in every time she saw a little first year asking for help wanting to scoop them up and guide them through such a pivotal experience however she thought better of it. Firstly these children didn’t know her and despite how trustworthy the Healer was she wouldn’t be offended if they didn’t trust her and secondly, she didn’t actually know where any of the stock was as she clearly didn’t work there. That didn’t stop her from offering the sweet kids a warm smile though, just to help ease their nerves.

Rowan picked up a black, chunky knit, woollen jumper and examined it. Marked down in price because it was currently summer. It was on the baggy side, but Rowan liked it. “This looks nice. Would be useful in the winter.” She showed it to Trixie hoping for her approval.
She listened to Trixie while she absently looked through the racks. “I mean.. for us, using magic is like breathing. It comes naturally. I've lost count of the times I've come this close to hexing one of the annoying boys at school.” She laughed lightly, obviously joking. “Freddie was very late to magic wasn't he?” She asked curiously. “No wonder he rarely uses it.”
The bland robes were fine - Rowan didn't mind them at all. If they had to wear something like that at her muggle school, however, the girls would no doubt have customised them into something more fashionable. She paused and turned to Trixie to let her try a set against her. “These will give me room to grow as well. You must have a lot of experience of this. With your five children all going to Hogwarts.” She could just imagine the outgoing excitement of Tabitha, and Ruby and Holly's joy, albeit more subdued than Tabby's. And then Daniel and Isaac... She wondered what they were like as boys having to go supplies shopping with their mum. Daniel didn't talk much about his childhood. Daniel didn't talk much at all. He was still an enigma to the young redhead. And Rowan, sadly, still didn't know anything about Isaac.
As Trixie went about looking at the clothing, Rowan turned her attention to the other girl.

She nodded in response to the other girl. She also gave a small, shy smile to the woman with her. She hoped she wasn't being rude and interrupting their conversation. She'd just been excited. "I am. I went to Ilvermorny, but my family just moved here so I'll be starting at Hogwarts this term. I'll be a fourth year, what about you?" Imagine if they were in the same year, and the same house. Then they could be bffs. Well, they could theoretically be bffs anyway, but she was imagining being bffs with at least one of her dormmates.
The interruption wasn't rude at all. It was a relief to find that she wouldn't be the only new fourth year. Ilvermorny? Oh, that was very intriguing “You're American?” She smiled brightly at the girl, her tone full of enthusiasm. “Where abouts are you from?” She tucked a stray hair behind her ear. “I'm transferring from a muggle school.” She replied. “I've been home schooled up until now but my mum wanted me to attend Hogwarts to prepare for my owls.. as I'm more interested in a career in the magical world.” It was so nice to meet someone her own age in the same predicament. A small weight off her shoulders. “I'll be a fourth year too.”
“I'm Rowan.” She introduced herself. “What's your name?”

As generic as the jumper was, if Rowan liked it then Trixie was not going to deny her it. “You can have whatever you want.” She’d buy her the whole shop if she really wanted although it would be an unnecessary waste of resources. Perhaps she was trying to make up for the years of lost time or for her son’s reluctance to actually step up to the mantle of being a father. Either way the blonde couldn’t be faulted for her generosity.
Hexing annoying boys sounded like something Trixie would’ve done, except she was rather more adept with a Beaters bat and a Bludger directed accidentally towards annoying boys who happened to be in its path. “I wouldn’t entirely blame you there although I find it’s best not to draw attention to yourself no matter how annoying the boy is” she chuckled lightly. “My boys were unfortunately not very good at keeping themselves out of trouble.” Yes that meant her father, although Isaac was more proficient with the hexing whereas Daniel was cruel with his words.
“Freddie was seventeen, he didn’t come to Hogwarts until his final year.” Talk about being thrown completely in the deep end. “Thankfully he’s actually a very insightful and intelligent man so picking it up wasn’t too difficult but I do still think he’s more comfortable with being in a Muggle environment.” Trixie wasn’t the type to push him either, she’d rather her husband just be happy. “His younger siblings were late to magic too.” It must have been a familial thing although it hadn’t been passed down to their own children.
The shopping experience had been entirely different for each of the children. “With Tabitha it was like a tornado whipping through each shop, Ruby was considerably quieter and relied on her sister for guidance. The twins couldn’t care less and Holly.. well it was extra special for her.” Freddie had also taken the drivers seat for that one which was a joy to see. She thought Ruby was a true Daddy’s girl but Freddie was extra protective of their youngest.

The Cat on his shoulder looked at her with it's green gold eyes sharply, this cat expression was reserved for those who possibly dislike cats. Mathius turned around at the person who nearly mirrored his own request, "First year too huh?" shrugging his shoulders, barely displacing the beast seated there. He felt a little out of place in this magical seamstress wearing husky khaki shorts and a "Godzilla Vs. Destoroyah" T-shirt. "So... This Alley is really amazing..." unsure of what to say to a magical folk, or how he should react.

Alyx saw heard the young first year talking to her and turned around to face him. "I am a first year." She responded. "I can't wait to go to Hogwarts. It will be a great place to make new friends. I wonder who will be my roommate...." She pondered aloud.
"I'm new to all this magic stuff. I don't know anything about it really. I'm a complete newbie."
She responded to his second statement by simply saying, "we are in Diagon Alley now, but imagine Knockturn Alley. I've seen signs for it, the people who come from that area seem quite disheveled. Are you new to magic? Like, are you a muggle-born too?" Alyx wondered, crossing her arms around her chest. She liked this person. He seemed nice. She wondered if everyone at Hogwarts would be this friendly.
She blurted out, "Would you like to sit with me on the Hogwarts Express? I need to get more things from Diagon Alley, but when we are on the train we can sit together if you want..."
Mathius laughed, causing his cat to jiggle slightly and open an eye. "Same here, I only learned about REAL magic a couple of months ago..." He sighed and nodded, "Indeed, both mom and dad wouldn't know sorcery if they found it eating their dinner. You could also say my hocus pocus isn't tough enough, and my mumbo jumbo doesn't measure up... yet" He concluded with a sly grin. With her question he was slightly shocked, and more then a little humbled. In all honesty you could count Mathius's total friends on a blind butchers hand, "Uh, yeah sure... Sounds good to me" He offered his hand, "My names Mathius... but I go by other names like "Hey you" "I think he went this way" and my personal favorite "Don't let him get away".

Alyx reajudsted her slim body so she was putting more weight on her right hip. She also put a hand on that hip, and laughed. "It's amazing isn't it? All of the things we'll be able to achieve? Oh, don't worry though, we'll both improve at a school like Hogwarts." She nodded and replied, "My name is Alyx. But I also go by my last name, Stone. Do you get into trouble a lot? Is that why people say 'Don't let him get away'?"

"No, not really, merely well versed in the language of the bully" He tilts his head to the side as if in contemplation "Those poor thugs probably can't remember Mat" He nods in agreement "I like your last name, very solid, reliable, powerful name..." Romy was here to buy her Hogwarts uniforms. Her non-magical parents were at Flourish & Blotts, helping her to buy her spellbooks. The 11-year-old strolled through the shop and found what she was looking for with little difficulty. She wondered if she should try out the robes in the dressing room. They were just black robes, but she did want to look nice at school.

Technically there was nothing wrong with all of the dress robes that Tamara already owned. Her school uniform was still in pristine condition, she had a single dress that she kept with her just for any surprise special occasions, and then jumpers and casual pants and shirts a plenty for the rare times they could actually be worn around the school. And yet, the rising third year found that she was dissatisfied with all of them. It was frivolous to expect to buy all new items, but she had been able to do some odd jobs here and there - including cello lessons - that earned her enough coin for maybe an extra casual dress or two.
At least, she told herself it was just going to be one or two. And yet after perusing, she somehow managed to laden herself with around 7 or so dresses to try on. Where this sudden shopping stamina came from, she didn't really know. But she was pretty certain it had to do with her constant preoccupation with a certain Hufflepuff as of late.
Hoisting her options higher in her arms again, Tam made to move towards the dressing room before noticing another student who looked like she might have be in need as well. From what she could tell, there was currently only one open and she certainly was going to take more time. Approaching the girl, she gave a small smile. "Um, excuse me. Do you need the dressing room too? It looks like that one might be open!" with her arms busy, the strawberry blonde just jutted her chin out in the direction of the curtain pulled back.

Laden with robes and blouses, Romy regretted reassuring her parents that she would be fine buying the uniforms on her own. As she wondered if she should forgo trying out the robes and first pay for all the apparel she currently had, another girl approached her about using the dressing room. She figured that she would try out the uniforms quickly and make sure they fit, then deal with accessories like hats and scarves later when her hands were less busy.
“Um, yes. Oops, sorry…” she said, having dropped some of the robes in her arms when she tried to move towards the one open dressing room.

Tam smiled at the younger looking student when she stated she did need the dressing room, and the Ravenclaw took a step back to give her more room to roam that direction before noticing the falling items right as she commented on them. The rising third year glanced from those on the ground now, to her own full arms and those of the younger student still as well. "Oh! That's okay, that happens!" She stated, glancing around this way and that. Spotting an open rack where she could easily enough deposit her own collection, she quickly did so before leaning down to scoop up the others and present them to the girl. "Here you go!" Though, as she offered them, she noticed one blouse seemed to have gotten a little dirty in the process.
"Oh! This one might have picked up some dirt... Do you want help finding a clean one in the same size?" She had some time to kill now while she waited for a room, and unburdened by all of the dresses she was fully capable of and happy to help.

Immensely grateful to the seemingly older (or at least more organized) girl for understanding, Romy thanked her when she helped her to scoop up the items she dropped. In the meantime, she waddled into the open dressing room and deposited the robes she had so that her hands were now free.
“That would be great, thanks… Oh, do you know if this size I picked would fit me?” she asked. If the other girl had been to Hogwarts and worn the uniforms before, she might know. Choosing the fitting size before trying the blouse on would save time in the dressing room.

Tam smiled and gave a small nod at the thanks. She was always happy to lend a helping hand, at least when she was able to figure out how to free one up. She watched as the other girl made her way to the dressing room, just in case she needed anymore help with picking up some fallen pieces, before her attention turned again to the now dirty blouse once arms were unburdened.
"Happy to!" Tamara replied, another smile before she quickly turned where that particular item could be located, grabbing a fresh one but not yet putting back the other. She would hand it over to a store clerk later so it could be properly cleaned before ready for sale again. Fresh article acquired, she returned to the younger student and held it out towards her. "Here you go!" At the second question, Tam peered at the size before moving once more to where that item could be found and making a quick return. "That's the size I usually where and it looks like you might be a little bit slighter than me, so the next size down would probably fit you nicely! Here, you can try both though." Another item was passed before the Ravenclaw realized her manners were clearly escaping her. "Oh! I'm Tamara, by the way. Are you a Hogwarts student too?"

Radhika may have gotten her new robes when Sachin and Conley had bought all her new clothing for Hogwarts that previous summer. However, Levi… Levi too was growing so quickly that Sachin found himself shopping for clothing for his almost-ten-year-old son quite a bit. Just what was on his list today? Gloves. The pair Levi currently used was also slightly worn and fitting a little too snugly for Sachin’s liking.
Since he had a bit of free time currently, the British Ambassador to india strolled into Madam Malkins with the intention of finding the nicest pair of gloves for Levi… and maybe he’d find something for his husband too. Okay, not maybe; he definitely would.
But first, he would just browse through the extensive inventory. Maybe something of his liking would catch his eye.

Josephine entered into the clothing shop. She wiped her boots on the mat in front of the door. Then she headed to the dresses to look for a new dress for work.
She saw the most perfect pink dress she's ever seen. Took it from the rack, looking at the size. She was happy it was her size so she went to changing room to try it on.
After it on, she looked at herself in the large mirror. She looked prefect, she changed back into jeans, t-shirt, and hoodie. Then putting on her boots. She looked around for anything else she wanted. Then saw a man looking at gloves. She tried not to stare at him."
