| Work Area and Cubicles Sardines ♥ BHB ♥ Dallie ♥ Grumpy ♥ MY SUN AND STARS ♥ i love julia Not far past the lobby you will find the Main Work Area and Cubicles. The colors of the office are a cool gray, crisp white and a splash of bright coral and green throughout the floor. The majority of the back wall has been transformed into a floor to ceiling picture window, the view magically changing throughout the day.
Small clusters of desks and cubicles can be seen dotted around the work area. These sections are divided up into the various divisions within Level One for organisation's sake. If you have been assigned a workspace here, you are likely sharing a cluster with someone you may need to work closely with at some point. There are a few tables here and there for small morning meetings and collaborative work.
Around the corner from the main work area, you will find the private offices which some senior employees have been assigned to for their day to business. Some of the private offices are shared between two or three employees, depending on the nature of their work, but these employees are still likely to travel back and forth to the main work areas with some regularity. Other offices here are empty and may be booked by employees who may need a more private place to work on more sensitive tasks. The Junior Undersecretary's office can also be accessed from this section as well, should you need them.
A large cabinet sits towards the front and centre of the Work Area, complete with all of the work essentials such as spare parchment and quills, magical copier equipment, a watercooler, and the all important noticeboard. Comfortable seating areas are also available for informal work place discussions, or for those members of the public who have been directed to wait to be seen. |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Kassandra Sutton Graduated | | Ravenpuff | Part Ninja | Boat Rocker | Exhausted Pigeon | Ashery timidly entered the work area, wondering where she was supposed to go. It was her first day on the job and being late wasn't something she wanted to be known for. Her eyes scanned the room, noting how clean and quiet the area was. Not what she was used to at all. She already missed the hustle and bustle of the coffee shop, the clatter of mugs and juicy gossip of the customers, and the glorious smell of coffee. This workspace smelled of parchment and ink.
Shaking off the butterflies that were trying to set up camp in her stomach, she ventured further into the workspace. "Excuse me? Does anyone know where to find a Ms. January Bones?"

January did her best to keep a neat and orderly workplace and she was rather proud that she succeeded, most of the time. Not many people benefited from a stressful work environment. If they did, they probably belonged in the MLE or the Mysteries department. That being said, it was the first day back and the first day always tended to be the most stressful.
That's why she hired a new personal assistant. To help her keep the order, to stay organized, to... observe things. And lucky for her, it seemed that she had just arrived. "Well, you've come to right place," January said, walking from the conference room. She had seen her arrive and knew who she was. She tried her best to know every person that walked through those Level 1 doors. "You must be Ashery. I'm Mrs. Bones." And she did put a little emphasis on the Mrs. Just so she knew.
January extended her hand out for a greeting shake. Hopefully she was ready to get to work. |

Thankful she had arrived at the correct department, and the very person she was looking for had come to greet her, Ashery smiled brightly and shook her new boss's hand. "It's a pleasure, Mrs. Bones." Her messenger bag with parchment and other desk supplies shifted on her shoulder, causing her to awkwardly shift to keep her balance. After righting herself, she blushed nervously, hoping she wasn't making a horrible first impression. "Yes, ma'am, I'm here for my first day. Where would you like me to start?" She was ready to get going with her new job. Movement, work, and keeping busy always helped calm her nerves. Plus, the sooner she got started, the sooner she would feel like she belonged.

She was ready to get going with her new job. Movement, work, and keeping busy always helped calm her nerves. Plus, the sooner she got started, the sooner she would feel like she belonged. January was very patient with the girl because first days were always hard. First weeks, first months... it was all hard. And this young woman seemed very nervous, but also seemed like she was ready to go, and she appreciated that.
Now, where to begin.
Looking around the level discreetly, making sure no one was paying close attention to them, January put a hand on the girl's shoulder and gently pulled her over a few steps to a corner of the office. "Your most important task starting today... is to watch the Minister. And I expect complete discretion - he is not to know nor is anyone to know that I am having you watch him. If anyone asks, you are and henceforth will be the personal assistant to me, the Senior Undersecretay, as well as the Minister for Magic." She paused to make sure she was following her. "I need you to track him. Make mental notes. Make sure he doesn't get himself into any... predicaments. And report everything back to me. Understood?" And if Ashery was thinking this sounded a lot like babysitting... well, she was right. |

And if Ashery was thinking this sounded a lot like babysitting... well, she was right. Ashery followed Mrs. Bones over to the corner of the office, curious as to why they were being so secretive. She wondered if gossip was a problem in the office. She leaned in close to listen to what was being said. So, she was supposed to help the Minister. That was cool. No. Wait. January didn't say help the Minister. She said WATCH the Minister. Ashery looked at Mrs. Bones slightly confused, then it began to register that the job she thought she had been hired for wasn't the job she would be doing. There was a far more important, and secret, job for her to do.
Nodding to confirm that she understood, she let January continue. "Right. Everything he does goes straight back to you. Got it." She could do that. She'd spend half her life keeping tabs on her older brothers, one minister couldn't be that difficult to follow around unnoticed.
It looked like the job was going to be far more exciting than she originally thought it would be. Not only was she going to be working in the most important office of the Ministry, she was going to be spying on the most important person at the Ministry.

She seemed to be understanding that she was hired with a title that didn't totally match her new, unofficially official job description. But if anyone asked, she was just doing as the Senior Undersecretary asks, which is what personal assistants do. "Good," January voiced aloud. "Now, of course I will have you do other things. Filing, errands and things, but I want that to be your main priority. Make sure he knows you are his personal assistant too, alright? Any questions for me?" Now was the time to ask them. There was a good chance she would be tossed into some interesting things this year. |

Her head nodded along with the mention of filing and such, all things she was good at. "It all sounds clear to me. I'll get right on it."
She glanced around the room. "Should I take one of the empty cubicles near the cabinets at the front, or one towards the Ministers office, so I can better see if he is headed out" she leaned in a bit closer "and better hear any conversations from his office?" She was worried that if she was sitting too far away, he may be able to slip out without her knowing.

January was glad that she seemed to have made a good decision when she hired this girl. She smiled at her as a stamp of approval.
January took her arm gently and led her through the maze of desks. "I've got a desk up here for you. You'll be able to see both of our offices from here." She stopped right at the corner where there was a cubicle with her name on it and there was a perfect view of her office. "To be honest, he does spend a bit of time with me, but you'll still be able to see him when he's not." She would probably still be able to see him if he frequented the froyo machine. "Do you think you'll be comfortable here?" she asked with a smile. |

I have a great view from here." She placed her bag on the floor next to the desk and took a good look around the room. She would be able to see into both Mrs. Bones and the Minister's office without obviously moving her body. A slight lift of her head would be sufficient. "I will be perfectly fine right here." She stepped forward and ran her hand along the back of her new chair. It felt strange to have a real desk and not be running around pouring coffee for customers. Although, offering coffee to the Minister and Mrs. Bones would probably be on her to do list. "If there isn't anything else, I'll get right on my assigned tasks, Mrs. Bones. Thank you for this opportunity."

January had to admit that, even though she was independent and a bit of a control freak, it was nice to have somebody on her team to help her out. Hopefully this would make things run even smoother. "Thank you so much," January said, giving the young woman a fond tap on the arm. "You should have enough to keep you busy for a while. If you run out of things to do, just poke your head in my office. And, please, if you think of anything you may need, let me know, hmm?" She gave her a fond smile and then stepped back. And then she went back to her office to get to work. It was going to be a busy year. |
