I really should made more stews at home. he thought wondering if he could afford a slow-heating/cooking cauldron. Having one might be useful for his potion experiments too, only it would have to be placed at the bottom of his shopping wish list. He needed more moon dung for his plants first, or else they’d die and then he’d been in real trouble come the next time his aliment flared up.
Adam was in mid-potato shoveling mode and thought when he heard someone ask to join him. “Mmm?” he said around a sporkful of mashed potatoes. He motioned for her to sit and then swallowed his potatoes before talking. “Hallo.” The woman looked a bit familiar and he vaguely remembered seeing her at the department meeting (where there had been free bagels and coffee!). He moved his tray closer and tucked some of his unused napkins under his stew bowl. “I didunt realize it had gottun so busy unt hair.” He smiled, hoping he didn’t have any food in his teeth.
Andrina felt rather bad interrupting her co-worker in the middle of his mashed potatoes.. but.. she didn't feel like eating all along back down in the break room.
She smiled as he motioned for her to sit down and she gracefully slid into a seat across from him and set her lunch down in front of her. "Hello, I'm Andrina, but most people call me Andi. We.. work together right?" She hoped so..otherwise she was sitting with a total stranger and well..
That could get awkward..
"Ahh yeah.." The Raven haired woman looked around.. "It seemed to fill up pretty fast I think." She said with a smile. "Thank you for letting me sit here.. I promise I won't make too much noise." She said with a warm nod as she set her food out, and started to work on the Chicken parm..

He pushed a hunk of beef around on his plate as she sat down. “Und-dee?” he repeated to make sure he got it correct. Adam was terrible with names and would likely forget it by the next time he saw her, then sheepishly try and figure out a way to get her to reintroduce herself. “Nett to meeten you,” he said in his heavy German accent. He pointed to himself, “AH-dahm. I dink you vert at der departmental meetung? ” He was pretty sure she had been near the bagels. “I vork vith da potions.” He said simply. If she really did work in his department, she would know what that meant and he wouldn’t be breaking any secrecy rules by having to explain further. “Unt you?”
Adam had a pretty sensitive sniffer and whatever it was she had pulled out smelled rather good. “Vhat ist dat?” he asked motioning to her lunch.

Andrina smiled warmly over at her co-worked as he attempted to say her name. "Yeah, that works." She said, she could pick up the accent and was trying to figure out where it was from, but so far she wasn't having any luck.
"It's nice to meet you as well Adam." Andi said with a nod, "And yeah I was, hovering near the bagels." She said with a soft laugh as she looked at him..

Watches and things. Watches and things. Adam chewed on a carrot as he thought about what that would imply. At least he had been right and she was the girl from the meeting who he had passed by to get at the bagels. Honestly, if you really wanted Adam to remember someone, have food be part of the memory and he was bound to remember – something about the person.
It suddenly clicked for him. She must work in the room with the big bell jar that glowed odd colors and made things grow younger. Yes, Adam was very slow some days. “Must be interesting vorking vith da vatches.” He said simply. One of these days, he was going to have to wander around his department a bit more. Perhaps when his next potions was on the long-term simmering stage. “Are you vorkgin on anything exciting?” As they were clearing in the same department, he didn’t feel like it was breaking any of his contractual agreement by inquiring.
Chicken Parm. Adam had never had it, despite his month of living in Italy. “Did you make it yourself?” he asked honestly curious. He did most of his own cooking, although he felt he was a fair better baker than a cook. Baking was a little more similar to Potions for him what with the waiting times and measurements.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
It was lunch time and earlier that day, Lucas had told Mercedes that they should get together to discuss that idea she had for the calendars. He arrived at the food court, not very hungry but rather more interested in planning.
With nothing but that on his mind (since he was all finished with his work for now), he took a seat to await Mercedes's arrival. The aroma of food distracted him for a moment. Yes, he'd have to order lunch sometime. If he wasn't going to eat here, at least he'd get something and eat later with Tallie.
It was May 20th. Lynley would be getting to bring Wyatt home soon, and she was...bubbling with excited anxiety lately...just all the time. Lynley Purcell, you've got this. She kept telling herself. She needed to get things in order in her department...and officially decide who would be in charge with her month she was taking off to help ease Wyatt into her life and his new one.
A maternity leave, yes.
She hadn't really come to buy food, merely to eat surrounded by people. Often she ate in her office, but lately she hadn't felt like being alone. Surrounded by people was still sort of alone, but...you could listen in on other conversations...or just people watch, judge people's outfits, etc. All the fun stuff that went into being a judgmental butthead, yeah.
It was terrible. So crowded. Was there a free table ANYWAY? Maybe she should have stayed in her office today, Merlin!

So the semi-annual staff meeting in the DOM had gone on longer than Adam had expected. It had been boring and dry and the bagel he had snagged between the minister’s participation and his boss’s agenda had done very little to quiet the rumbling of Adam’s very empty stomach. He hadn’t been back in the lab since this morning and his black hair was still standing up at odd angles and sporting some mysterious gray and pink streaks. He had done his best to smush his hair back into place and to clean up his shirt, but he hadn’t been able to do much besides change into his spare robes (which had a green blob of some sort on his right sleeve; his shirt had speckles of purple and orange...something on it). Despite his attempts at tidying up his appearance, he hadn’t realized in his haste to clean up the lab that the potion explosion had singed off a good portion of his left eyebrow.
It hadn’t been the brightest idea to start that potion last night, but Adam wasn’t the most brilliant at making decisions when he was excited and well, he had been waiting a long time for his brand new Lovage plant to bloom so he could use the petals in his experiment. Sadly, he had miscalculated something and the potion had gone poof-boom-bam!, instead of sissle-hissle-piff. The lab was still in quite a state and he had every intention of cleaning it up when he got back from lunch. He didn’t need to hurry since all of the other potioneers where out of vacation or working in the field. Right now? It was time to quiet the Erumpent that was trumpeting in his stomach.
So he had headed up to the food court. Adam had selected a big bowl of chowder, a hunk of bread, and a few cookies. To wash it all down was a very large glass of milk. Carefully carrying his tray, (little puffs of chicken and chocolate smelling smoke poofed behind him) Adam paused next to a lady who appeared to be looking for a table. “Hallo,” Adam said in his heavy German accent accompanied by a toothy smile. “No table available?” Before she could answer, Adam noticed a person get up and gather their garbage. “Ah!, Dare est one! Yoin me, ya?” Adam took off leaving little poofs of chocolate and pineapple smelling smoke behind him. He didn’t wait for her to answer; doing so would likely result in the table being taken before he got there and Adam really really wanted to eat his lunch.

Simon’s eating schedule was sometimes as random as his rounds and other duties and he could remember when or even if he had eaten breakfast that morning. So when his body had started protesting the lack of nourishment, the security head had to eventually give in. Seeing as he wasn’t about to distance himself from the building at the moment due to a project, that left the food court on Level Eight. The thankfully long-since-fixed food court. So that’s where he headed after a quick slip through the security office.
He meandered through the busy buffet, gathering a bowl of warming beef stew and fresh bread sticks from his place online. After paying he headed to the seating area in an attempt to not just box himself up in the department although it appeared he had certainly come down to the food court during one of its busiest times. His attentive eyes scanned the crowded seating area for a place to at least rest his tray not wanting to wind up being covered in stew,
It was lunch time and earlier that day, Lucas had told Mercedes that they should get together to discuss that idea she had for the calendars.
Mercedes headed to the food court to meet Lucas for a lunch meeting, about a project that they were going to work on. Purchasing a sandwich since that would be the easiest thing to eat while they plan.
The blonde scanned the food court for her co-worker. Ah there he was. She moved across the food court balancing her files. drink and sandwich. Being a mother of two kids she had pretty much mastered balancing multiple things in her arms and hands. Sitting down across from Lucas she offered him a smile. "Hello, Lucas I didn't keep you waiting did I?" They had both pretty much left level seven at the same time but she had gotten in line for the food when he had just gone to sit down.

Well this grandma might have snuck to the daycare and pulled her cute little grandson out for a lunch date with his grandparents. She was so happy she could use her employment to keep the little man close to her at least a few days a week. Grabbing his diaper bag and Christian she headed to the food court to meet her husband. "You ready to see grandpa Cossy?" She kissed his little head and turned into the food court.
Wow busy day?
Her eyes moved around the area for an empty table. Seeing a table clear on the other side (of course) she started making her way there. "Excuse me... excuse me." She quickly said to people that the diaper bag was hitting in the head while she was trying to get through. Seeing familiar faces she smiled and gave small waves with her free hand.
"Simon, hello. How is everything?" She hadn't spoken to him in awhile and then her eyes fell on one of her coworkers, "Christian look there is Aunt Mercedes." Helping him wave to his aunt as she finally found her seat. Summoning the highchair so she didn't have to get up yet again, she made Christian comfortable and waited for her husband before getting food.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Lucas's stomach grumbled lightly. Was it a bad idea not getting his food first? Maybe it had been but he was too focused on his and Mercedes's little project. He had one or two ideas of his own and couldn't wait to get started. Hearing a voice, he jerked out of his thoughts. "Hi, Mercedes! I'm just glad we got some time to discuss this.'' He waited on her to get settled in. By that time, Lucas notes someone trying to get Mercedes's attention. "Look, there's Victoria and her grandkid waving at you.'' He himself waved at them.
The man's stomach rumbled again. "I think I'd better grab something before we get started. I hadn't thought that I'd be hungry right now. I'll be back, Mercedes.'' He dashed off and eventually got his order. Now he was on his way back to the table, lunch in a tray.

What a chipper, bloody fool. The man only had to open his mouth in a smile for Lynley to see it. Merlin's pants. Was this who she was destined to eat lunch with? With a look of...disdain, she sighed and nodded. "Yes, I'll join you.." A very large part of her wanted to say 'yoin' but it was highly unprofessional to mock someone's accent. Poor bloke couldn't help that.
Lord, he was going to grab it. Lynley followed after, eyeing the crowd appearing...she recognized a few faces, mainly that Simon bloke, wasn't he a body guard or...something of that nature? Were body guards allowed lunch breaks? Possibly.
"Your English mixed with German is quite.........interesting," she commented. She found that often times, when she was trying to be polite but had nothing polite to say, she could state something that was mere fact, and people would most times think it was a compliment.
Perhaps, this was the case here.
Luckily, she wasn't whacked in the head with a diaper bag. Victoria Culloden, watch where you're going, you bloody fool. It DID bump into her hip, though, and Lynley could have cat!HISSED at her....instead, she set her lunch down on the table and glared. "Victoria, go be obnoxious somewhere else, thank you."

.....a Ministry employee. An unspeakable. It still felt somewhat surreal, even though it had been a few months now. He was going to have lunch with his wife as he generally did, so he slowly made his way to the food court, waving on the way at people he knew. He entered the area, and it didn't take him long to spot her - and his grandson. A huge grin appeared on his face and he walked over to them. Lucky for Lynley he didn't hear her rude remarks, or else, he would have told her off.
"Look who's here!" he exclaimed at his grandson as he nodded at everyone around. "You hungry too, young man?"
For anyone! Stay tuned...things will be exploding with energy next post!

Poof. Poof. Poof.
Something smelled like pineapple and burnt chocolate. Adam sniffed and looked around him as he walked to the table, but it didn’t look like anyone was eating roasted chocolate and pineapple. After all, that would be an odd lunch combination. Unless someone was pregnant. A quick glance around the room informed Adam that there were enough women around the lunch area that odds are one could be pregnant, so he shrugged off the odd smell.
He reached the table at almost the same time as another employee who, upon seeing Adam put his tray down, had veered off to the left. He pulled out the chair to his right for the lady who was joining him for lunch, fully intending to take the chair to his left. Only…
Adam thought that the woman looked as if she wanted to strangle someone. So he sat down in the chair he pulled out for her. Last thing he wanted today was for someone to tell him off for being gallant. As he sat, he let out of poof of smoke that smelled like burnt chocolate and curry. He sniffed for a moment distracted by the smell. “Ja,” he said uncertain as to how he should address her statement regarding his accent. “Most accents are.” he settled on. At least she seemed able to understand him. Most of the new people he met stared at him like he wasn’t speaking English at all.

Adam had just picked up his glass of milk to take a swig when he felt a whack to the back of his head. His nose went into the glass, milk splattered onto his shirt, and he sucked a snortful of milk up his nose. “Burgglepmp!” He coughed, puffed out milk, and splattered more over his shirt. He put the milk down. He was having the most joyous of days wasn’t he? First a potion explodes in his face, gucking up half of the potions lab. Then he was late/missed the food at the most boring of boring meetings. And now his nose burned and the back of his head hurt.

Well, Adam felt a bit warmer towards the woman setting her lunch down across from him as the woman told off the lady who had hit him. “Danke,” he said as he grabbed a napkin and began wiping milk off his face/nose. It wasn’t often that people stuck up for Adam.
…
Meanwhile the milk that had spilt on his shirt was slowly seeping into those purple and orange – somethings – that had stained his clothing during the potion explosion.

Why was this place so crowded???
Gosh, Gabby just wanted to eat with her friend and catch up but there were so many people around. People that she didn't really want to talk to. The baby got a small smile because she was not so opposed to kids anymore. Actually it made her wish that she had brought her daughters in with her though Lynley would have a fit. Something that she didn't want to deal with from her boss at work.
"Hey, Lynley." Not that they hadn't seen each other recently. The other people got nods though Gabby didn't really know them and wasn't super fussed to talk much. Really she just wished her husband was with her, but there was no way that could happen without a fight breaking out.

Yes! Finally, a spot to squeeze in. The security man was quick to snatch up the opportunity as carefully as he could. With relief he was seated and able to eat with less chance of making a mess. Simon wasn’t one of those dodging or being hit by the diaper bag, but those repercussions drew his attention to Victoria even before she noticed him and said hello. Like a certain department head being just a bit rude. The real obnoxious one. Whatever…he wasn’t dwelling. “Hey,” he returned to Victoria instead with a friendly smile, taking in the woman with a baby. Not her child because he was too young looking in correlation to the last time he remembered her pregnant.
Grandchild maybe?
“I’m doing well…and you?” he answered, returning the favor in polite inquiry. “And the little guy?” Okay so he was just a tad curious. And it mildly reminded him of his and Angelina’s own talks on children. Ah…and there was the other Culloden, the man relatively new to the ministry as he remembered. “Hello,” he said offering a polite greeting to Cosgrach as well.
Emily had been minding her own business, sitting in the food court for the past twenty minutes, reading the paper. She often came here to eat and read the news, but today she was finding it hard to concentrate with so many people moving back and forth. After awhile the commotion became even louder and she looked up from her paper curiously to see if anything interesting was happening. Nearby, someone had just accidentally bumped a few people with a diaper bag (Victoria) and two other people reacted angrily.
How interesting! Perhaps Emily was being snoopy, but as a former tabloid reporter, little things like this never failed to capture her attention.
Glancing away from the crowd and down into her purse temporarily, Emily shifted some things out of the way and got her notebook out. "Come out my dear," she cooed quietly to her quick quotes quill. It floated out of her purse and began recording in the notebook all the happenings nearby...
Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something...
Well rude people were rude today. Victoria hadn't meant to bump anyone but the crowd was hard to get around and she did glare (which was never her nature) at a few. Including a fellow department head, "Excuse meLynley I didn't realize trying to find a table in this mad house with my grandson was obnoxious. Are you giving away free brooms today in here?" Was that why it was so bloody crowded? As for the man she was with, Adam, she gave a sympathetic look to. She hadn't meant for him to get milk on himself, but because of his lunch friend she wasn't fully apologizing either.
" Hello Lucas having a nice lunch? Can't believe how busy it is here today. Should have went to the cafe I guess." She wasn't really one to stay and do the food court, but because of Christian she thought she'd stay.
Finally finding her seat and giving Emily a small smile she looked up to see her Cossy. "How is your day going dear?" She watched as their almost 8 month old grandchild smiled and reached for his grandpa. "I think he might be. I love that we can just get him for lunch dates on the days he is here." It just made it so much more fun. Hearing Simon she gave a smile "I'm doing good, just super busy as always. Have you met my grandson yet? This is Christian. My oldest and his wife adopted him almost 8 months ago."
Yep, sandwiches worked so much better while doing a meeting type lunch. She was glad that she didn't keep him waiting. "So am I. I've got a few ideas, maybe we can put our ideas together and come up with something." She smiled, she really did love her job and working with the teams and players. She also had a few ideas that she ha been wanting to pass to Victoria and Muriel.
She was in deep thought about all of her ideas at the moment. She shook her head bring her back to reality. Oh, Look its her nephew! She smiled and waved back. "Hello there cutiepie, Hello Victoria. That's my nephew." Turning to Lucas, the family tie, wasn't a big secret for their co-workers. But she liked reminding people.
"Go ahead, I'll wait." She was glad he was getting some food. It might have gotten awkward with her being the only one eating. Well the only one of them, the food court was very crowded today. Very busy. Mercedes looked up seeing Victoria's husband arrive. "Hello Cosgrach."
Well... That was rude, it was crowded in here and people were bumping into others, clearly by accident. Could the milk man over there be anymore dramatic? Mercedes was slightly amused at the whole scene.

"Sounds like a plan,'' Lucas stated. "I'm quite enthusiastic about what we'll come up with.'' He was quite willing to let Mercedes share her ideas first. But he turned his attention to Victoria and the child with her. "I need to get my lunch,'' he replied with a slight laugh. "I think so too. I hadn't realised it would be that crowded. Mercedes and I want to work on that calendar featuring the Quidditch players.'' Lucas wanted to get started as soon as possible. "Oh, he is, Mercedes?'' Lucas probably came across this fact that Mercedes and the little boy were related but had forgotten. "Hi, little guy. Hi, Cosgrach.''
Lucas sat with his lunch and without a hitch. Which could not be said for the guy having issues with the milk. He had only noticed him because he had followed Mercedes's gaze. "What a waste of milk.'' Lucas felt sorry for the guy... and the milk. Milk was one of his favourite things.
Lynley had to snort in order not to laugh at the scene unfolding before her with this...German fellow. Milk. Everywhere.
Hilarious.
Lynley merely gave her wand a wave to help the man wipe his shirt....no need to go around the rest of day smelling like milk. No use crying over spilt milk....PAHAHAHAHA Lynley had to give out a smaaallllll chuckle. "Ignore her. She's a very annoying woman," she said to Adam softly. "Works in Games and Sports." Did she still? Lynley didn't keep up. "Bitte," she replied with a smirk.
And look, the best friend had arrived! Lynley gestured at Gabby to sit. "Come, sit with us. This is my new....acquaintance, Adam," she said in mock politeness. "He's German," she added. "Has an accent," because those were the important details. "Adam, this is my employee, Gabby," she said, introducing the two.
She wanted to ignore Victoria, but she merely turned to glance at the woman. Ugh. That comeback didn't even make sense. So she wasn't going to grace it with a response!
Anyways.

Ah…and there was the other Culloden, the man relatively new to the ministry as he remembered. “Hello,” he said offering a polite greeting to Cosgrach as well.
Remembering people's names was hard - although he knew Simon before he started working for the ministry. "Hey, Simon," he greeted the younger man. At least he knew his name and department... how had he memorised all the kids' names back in the day?

It just made it so much more fun. Hearing Simon she gave a smile "I'm doing good, just super busy as always. Have you met my grandson yet? This is Christian. My oldest and his wife adopted him almost 8 months ago."
Bart a father, still she couldn't get use to it.
Cosgrach reached to grab the little man, his wife looked way too busy with all the diapers anyway. "It's alright," he said as he bopped his grandson's nose playfully, "how is yours?" Overhearing the exchange between Vic and Simon, he couldn't help but remember the first time he and Bart met...
Time flew away...

Soooooooooo........
what was HIS name?
Luke? Lee? Leonardo? Cosgrach didn't know, but he was a pro at "playing it cool" so that's what he did. The man said he was going to get lunch anyway, so he could just ask Vic when he was gone... though he too needed to grab lunch for himself and her.
"Hello," he greeted back and smiled. Leighton, maybe?
Cosgrach wasn't really paying attention to anyone else other than people he knew, but he did turn to look at the milkman - a fully grown up man spurting milk all over himself.
He... hehehe......... HA-ahem-hahaha.
This was funny. Probably too funny, but it was rude to laugh at people so... he just turned around to laugh so that the man wouldn't see him. EHEHEHE.

Pfft!
Typically no one besides Lynley acknowledged her presence; more proof that Gabby was dealing with a bunch of peasants. How sad that most of the people who worked at the Ministry weren't worth a conversation. Ehhhh, whatever. They weren't even worth a thought. Instead she would just talk to her best friend... who was apparently introducing her to someone German.
"Hello, Adam," she said as she took a seat with them. "What's it like in Germany?" It was polite to ask, plus she also wanted to know if it was worth visiting there when the children were older; no way were they going on a vacation just yet - unless they went the muggle way... Hmm. She would have to talk to Archer about that at some point, though she REALLY wasn't keen on muggle transportation. Maybe she would just bite the bullet if the need arose.
ANYWAY, back to Lynley. "So do you want to go shopping soon or something?" Goodness knows she couldn't go long without buying more clothes. Archer DID enjoy her modelling them though, so he never complained about it. Besides, he knew that it made her happy.

She smiled at Mercedes as she said about her nephew, "I thought I'd sneak him out of the nursery for a bit. He loves having lunch with grandma and grandpa Culloden, don't you Christian." She nuzzled her nose against him. Looking at the eight month old and smiling, "I think auntie Mercedes wants you to come spend the day in the office with us." Mariel wouldn't mind she hoped. They probably wouldn't get much work done with a baby around, but it was just for the afternoon.
Looking to Lucas she smiled, "Calendars are always a great idea. I have a few photographer names that work really well with us. When we are all back in the office I can give you those contacts." That would help them, but she knew they had everything under control.
"Just alright?" She smiled towards her husband and grandson. "It's going well. We are always busy. Trying to work on summer camps and leagues, plus the U17 stuff is coming around again." Her eyes went around to the crowd. "Do you know what you are hungry for? I could go grab it while you hold him."

Mid-wipe of his shirt, the milk was gone (Or was it?) He stopped waving around his napkin and tossed it down on the table next to his chowder as another lady joined him and the crabby-lady. Crabby-lady’s assessment of the lunchroom being overly crowded was an understatement. He wondered if he’d be able to eat his chowder without having it too shoved up his nose. The thought made him hesitant to eat, despite the roaring horntail in his stomach.
And speaking of his stomach…it felt a bit warm. Maybe it was all the people….
Adam had no idea that his shirt was smoldering a little…
“Hallo Gahhbby,” Adam said politely as she addressed him by name. He didn't remember introducing himself. Perhaps his ID badge was hanging in such a way that his name was visible. Adam scratched at his forehead shifting round his black and pink streaked hair. He sat there trying to work out why it was only the fact that he was German that everyone always landed on. It was like pointing out the sky was blue or that hippogriffs had feathers. He didn’t go around pointing out to all his coworkers that they were British…
...Something smelt Smokey…but not the chicken and pineapple-chocolate Smokey smell he noticed earlier. This was a more…. elemental smell…
“Deutschland,“ Adam finaly decided on still a little bit distracted by the heat and the smell.“Ist very grey. “It sounded dumb, but there it was. The weather was gray. The buildings were gray. The peeople were gray. The laws were gray. The food, well, there was something different. “But! The food ist good.“ Yes, Germans really did know how to cook, despite the normal perception.
He gave his surroundings a once-over. Most of the people in his vicinity appeared to be seated and eating. Feeling safe, he picked up a spoon and his bowl of chowder. One spoonful made it to his mouth and then….
POOF!
A loud explosion erupted from Adam’s shirt. Bits of chowder shrapnel rained down around him. His bread had flown half-way across the room to land only Merlin knew where.
Adam sat dejectedly - blinking and still holding onto his spoon as chowder dripped down his nose.
Apparently the orange and purple…somethings on his shirt didn’t relate to well with milk.
