Perhaps out for dinner or watching her do whatever sport she liked to do. He was sure she did sports. Or yoga, maybe! Girls that did yoga were flexible and his favourite. "Only if you're ready to sign our marriage certificate." Aha!

Not that it was that easy to do...
With a heavy sigh, the man sat down on one of the chairs after getting a mango fruit smoothie and looked around. Secretly hoping for a distraction. The office was out of coffee. On a day where her caffeine levels were running dangerously low, the office had RUN OUT of coffee. This was the real crime, not those dark wizards doing their deeds and not the guy who never bothered to know the law and mucked everything up, no, it was the fact that her needs could no longer be met on Level 2 and she would be forced to get her fix elsewhere.
Remembering the little decorum she possessed, Alexa did her best not to simply elbow her way to the front of the line insisting on an emergency. It was harder than it looked and she owed herself a chocolate frog for the trouble.
Ah, here we go.
Lex dropped the coins into the server's outstretched hand and took a long sip of her second or third--no wait by now it was probably fourth--favourite beverage. It was then that she noticed Daichi looking like the sky was all but falling. "What's eating you?"

Unfortunately her current job description forced her to associate with them, or around them at least. Why couldn't they just stay in their place and behave? Nooo, they had to go around and get contaminated and start setting things on fire. Of course, PART was there to clean up their mess.
Honestly, No-Majs. Shame on you.
Amelia's standing policy was to stay away from caffeine right before potion-brewing, simply because the coffein rush made her impatient. Plus, she was slowly adapting to living in England. And they drank tea here. Warm water with leaves... Yum.
The young PART employee tapped her foot, reading the menu. Well, they had tea... And juice. Juice was almost like tea, right? Right. Cold tea. She'd settle for a juice then.
She was so getting used to being British. Crumpet, anyone? It wasn't often that Eva ventured away from her floor while at work. In fact, this was the first time she had been to this... juice bar. How INTERESTING. The older woman had to remind herself to close her mouth and not gawk as she peered around in wonder. How long had this been here? Why had no one told her about it? She liked JUICE!
Gawd.
Sidling up beside a younger woman (younger than herself anyway) she offered a smile as she looked at the menu herself. Hmmm. Clicking her tongue -without realizing she was doing it- she tilted her head this way and that as she tried to make a decision. Geez. Merlin! CIRCE! Why were there so many options?!
Glancing over she asked the lady there, "Pick a number between one and ten for me, will ya?" Because EENY MEENY MIINIE MOE was totally inappropriate for adults to use for decision making reasons. Really.
And perhaps she was speaking loudly... louder than need be...
But speak into the right ear, please, she was totally deaf in the other. |

Lex dropped the coins into the server's outstretched hand and took a long sip of her second or third--no wait by now it was probably fourth--favourite beverage. It was then that she noticed Daichi looking like the sky was all but falling. "What's eating you?" Still debating whether or not to send his son to Hogwarts or not, Daichi sipped on the straw as he was drinking the smoothie. Perhaps he should look in to Ilvermorny? But that was so far away and ising the floo networks was out of option for him. Mainly because although he had made peace with his fear of fire and could be in one room with it, like a fireplace. But if he could avoid it..the better. And Dorian might not mind travelling with floopowder but he did .
He sighed again, rubbing his forehead. He should probably give his father a call that he had to send Dorian to bed because he was probably going to be at the office till late. Just as he went to get up to send the message, another employee had approached him and he sank back down in the chair. It would be concidered rude to just walk away.
What's eating him? Saying 'life' would sound too cheesy and depressing because he wasn't. "Nothing, just...thinking whether i should send my son to Hogwarts or not, you know with everything going on at the school right now" he took another sip of the smoothie. "the office ran out of coffee?" he asked as he nodded towards the cup in her hand. Because most of the department offices had their own coffee machines close by.

Marriage was NOT on her radar any time soon. Unless it was to that handsome McDean fellow. Hehe. "So what department are you? Obviously one that must require LOTS of work, if you need that much sugar to get you through the day," she added with a nod at the drinks in his hand.

The woman next to her was being loud.
Amelia gave her a look. The clicking. The clicking with the tongue would have to stop. "You don't need a number." She shrugged, pointing at the menu. "If I were you, I'd go for the exploding lemonade." Because Amelia wasn't sure what it was and the lady (who she was sure she'd never seen before) would be a great person to find that out for her. What kind of explosion was it exactly? Was there smoke involved?
Amelia payed for her regular, non-exploding pumpkin juice and sipped it while she watched the woman. Buy the exploding one. I dare ya. I DOUBLE DARE YA.

"the office ran out of coffee?" he asked as he nodded towards the cup in her hand. Because most of the department offices had their own coffee machines close by. Ah, was that all? Lex sipped at her coffee, nodding slowly as she internalized what he'd just said. He looked proper preoccupied by such a thought too. She supposed she just expected it to be a bit more....well, she didn't know but Merlin she'd have taken something more along the lines of the sky falling and Aurors being needed to step in--it was a slow day at work, okay? "Yeah, disappointing really, but I suppose it was about time I stepped outside of Level 2." Typically, she was out in the field but when work required her to be within the Ministry, the Auror seldom left her department. There was simply too much to do and not enough time to do it. "I don't mind the chance to stretch my legs. It's been a day and a half." Yes, one day had managed to feel like one and a half of another.
But back to his main issue here. "Why the hesitation though? A portal opened up and kids went missing--by choice the way I hear it. We had man eating plants and dementors we couldn't do anything about and we're no worse off for it." Lex wasn't under the impression their alma mater was any great shakes in the educational community but Merlin, it'd been fun. Gave her a taste for what the real world could be like--albeit a little exaggeratedly. She WISHED dementors and man eating plants would happen some time. The period between cases could be excruciating. "Emm's still going. I see no real reason not to. Magic brings forth magic. Reckon a portal could open up at any of the other magical schools too and Durmstrang had a dragon come eat someone so..." They were all the same in the end if you asked her. 'Sides, she'd be damned if she never got to see her kid become a Gryffindor.

She didn't NEED a number? "I know I don't need a number, but it will help me decide, you see. And I don't tend to consume anything with the word exploding in it. I'm not an idiot, " she said in her American accent. Pfft. Idiots.
But. She did decide on a smoothie. Mango and banana. After ordering it she turned to look at the other woman. "What is your department? " she asked in her obnoxiously loud voice.
Totally not her fault, by the way. Terrible accident, you see. Magic couldn't repair it. Nope nope. |

Totally not her fault, by the way. Terrible accident, you see. Magic couldn't repair it. Nope nope. Amelia huffed in disappointment when the woman ordered a smoothie. Boring. There was nothing for her here, she made a move to return to level 3 when someone practically yelled. A light shudder went through her as she looked back at the woman. Was she aware of the volume? She was loud. So very loud. "Magical Accidents and Catastrophes." She articulated, hopefully loud enough for the lady to hear. "And you're... Also working for the Ministry?" Or.... Perhaps she was a St. Mungos patient. Seemed more legit. Amelia had noticed the way people around them, slowly turned to look at them. They were talking to each other as though they were across the room from one another.
Only they weren't. They were just loud.

| Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when Natalie had just purchased food from the main buffet and dessert areas and needed a refreshing cold drink to quench her thirst and to wash all the food down. She thought for a moment before deciding on a glass of chocolate dragon milkshake. She paid her money, carefully placed the glass on her tray and headed for a seat. |
