Actually, she was a bout to point Amelia in another direction of something almost as tasty as the pie but paused mid way of opening her mouth.
Damn. Amalia had a terrible day. Megan couldn't help but feel sorry for her, having been in her position before. Even if she hadn't had such a bad first few days combined at the Ministry. "I'm sorry to hear about that. How about this? I'll share quarter of the pie with you? You don't even have to pay for it. It's my treat.''
Food may be her passion but she wasn't greedy.
B-But-But... No. Amelia stood with her wallet open for the woman to just stick her hand in it and grab her prize. Just take it, really. Anything. Her bargaining skills (or lack thereof) was obviously not up to par and all she really cared about was the pie. Fortunately, it seemed sympathy was the way to go with this one.
Amelia's eyes widened in surprise. "... Really? I... YES." A quarter of a pie wouldn't really make everything better but it sure was a whole lot better than none of it. "I'll pay for it though, really." Just because she was begging for food in the Dessert bar didn't mean she couldn't actually pay for herself. Her salary wasn't that bad.
She grabbed a plate and kept a close eye on the woman from her Department (so she couldn't make a run for it). "It's Megan, right? Aren't you in Magical Accidents and Catastrophes?" Maybe even PART if she was lucky.

Amelia was nice. At least this was the vibe Megan was getting from her. Unless Amelia was pretending to be just to get a piece of that pie. The Slythierin in Megan was still showing; that side of her was being calculative. “Nah, don’t worry about it.’’ She quickly paid for the delicious treat and the cookies, grabbed Amelia by the arm with the intention of leading them both away from the food lest she gave into temptation to purchase more goodies. But did Amelia want to get more stuff? Eh…
“Yes, I’m Megan from Accidents and Catastrophes. HI!’’ The blond beamed. “I remember you from the meeting.’’ She magically cut a good portion of the pie then levitated it onto Amelia’s plate. “There! You can think of that as a ‘Welcome to the Ministry’ present. Would you like a cookie too?’’ Megan was quite willing to share. “How are you fitting into the Ministry otherwise?’’

Amelia raised her eyebrows at Megan's quick decision on grabbing her arm and leading her away from the food. She was fine with that though, the blueberry pie was all she needed in life wanted.
"Thank you." Amelia said as she was offered the pie. "Really." Sweet heaven, all was not lost. There was still pie in the world. She laughed and shook her head. She could do without the cookies. "You keep the them. I'll stick to the pie." She took the first bite of pie and let out a little sigh of content. "It's... Just as good as I imagined it would be." Didn't really taste like her grandmother's but it did the trick. Man, she missed New York.
"I always knew I'd end up in this Department." Amelia smiled, shrugging her shoulders. Actually, her parents had known she would be in the PART division ever since she mixed her first potion at age 4. "And I love it." She'd been thrown right into the middle of things on her first day, what with all the crazy things happening to the no-majs and she loved it. The collecting of samples was... Not great. But the analyze bit was. "I've always been a potion girl, what can I say?" She smiled and let her fork cut through the cheesecake again.
"How long have you worked in the Ministry?" Cue secrets no one told newbies.

Sweets, yes Erec had a sweet tooth. He tried to stay fit and things for his health and his job, but he did enjoy to eat his sweets as well and today was one of those days he decided he needed to eat some sweets. So making his way down to the food court he looked around and found the dessert bar.
What to get though.... What to get?
This was going to be the hardest decision he made today. Thankfully it was an easy day in the office. His division heads made it run smoothly. What a great group of people he worked with.
Oh wait chocolate cake, yes that was what he was getting.

"Not one bit of a problem,'' Megan said. Sharing was caring and she was ready to give her co-worker a warm welcome. "Alright. You can have one later.'' Like for or something. Seeing Amelia dig into the pie, Megan wasted no time in doing the same. The moment the first piece hit her tongue, she felt as though she were in heaven. "Good grief! This is delicious!''
She listened with interest and taking more mouthfuls of the pie. If she wasn't careful, she'd eat the entire thing and that would mean that Yuna get none. She needed to control herself. "That's neat. You're definitely going to be an asset to the department. I mean, we often have to deal with stuff that are caused by potions.''
"I've been here about four years. I moved from the US back here then after some thinking, I decided to join the Ministry, looking for a change from my old profession.'' And she had not regretted any moment of it.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.

Unlike her youngest brother, who would judge everyone for even thinking about sweets, Victoria liked it. Desserts were like little pieces of heaven and when it was time for a break, she decided to walk to the food area in the Ministry.
There were a few other employees present but none that she personally knew, only by name and the occasional hello's in the hallways. It wasn't a bad thing though, she prefered to spend her break alone.
When she chose a dessert (applepie) the woman looked to her right and spotted her Department Head. Even if she prefers to eat alone, she couldn't exactly ignore her own boss now could she?
"Hey Mr.Delacroix, what are you having?" she smiled .

Apparently Megan enjoyed the pie as well and Amelia could only smile dreamily at her co-worker. She hadn't really found a british pastry that she liked, but they did know how to make a good blueberry cheesecake for sure.
Amelia straightened her back with pride. An asset to the department. Yas. So she wasn't great with the No-Majs but she did know how to brew some neat potions. "That's nice of you to say, why don't we meet up in a few months and see if you're right." She said, amused. Let's face it, so far she hadn't been that much of an asset. Spilling coffee and eating pie.
"Really? Where did you live in the US? And what did you do before?" Was she asking too many questions? Discretion or just knowing when to stop nosing around other people's business wasn't her thing at all. Besides, it was kind of nice to talk to someone at work about other than sewage samples.
Rose headed into the cafeteria's dessert bar to find herself something sweet to eat after a very difficult morning. The brunette didn't have a headache, but it was close to one. The apartment building with its giant pest problem and angry residents that she had been called out to assist with had tried her in more ways than one. It wasn't just her patience that had been tested to it's limits earlier that morning.
Clicking her way up to the dessert table in her silvery heels to match the purple dress that peeked out under her ministry robes Rose stopped to survey the sweets on sale. "Do i want candy or pie?" she mumbled to herself as she stood there. Reaching her hand out to take a piece of mystery pie she tried to think away thoughts of work.

Now that he knew what he was having he just had to pay, but first the ice cream that went with the chocolate cake sounded tempting. He could have a cheat day on his eating, couldn't he? He looked down before looking back at the sweets. Yep he was going for it.
Turning to find pay and find a seat he noticed one of his employees. Well that wasn't surprising since it was the ministry food court area. "Hello Victoria, please Erec. I don't need such formalities." He didn't mind being addressed that way, but he didn't feel it was needed either.
"Would you care to join me?" He'd understand if she didn't want to be near the boss though, so he would leave it up to her.

See if she was right? Megan grinned. "You'll see how right I'll be, Amelia! And when you realise this, you can treat me to another blueberry pie.'' She laughed and spooned another piece of the deliciousness into her mouth. This was indeed heaven! Just one more mouthful and she would keep the rest for Yuna.

For the first time in years Aaron felt weird because he didn't have to watch his weight or worry over the size of his muscles. And even though sub-consciously he would probably still choose the healthy of the options available, it felt good to not be required to check in his daily diet.
Headed straight for the dessert bar, the blond picked up a plate as he deliberated over what to try first. When he heard someone talking to themselves over candy or pie and recognized her from the orientation as someone who had recognized him.
"When in doubt, choose both," Aaron responded in the quiet sort of way as to not to startle her, as he scooped a hefty sized piece of chocolate mousse pie onto his plate.

Chocolate cake AND ice cream? Hungry much, boss?
Victoria didn't say anything about the man's choices of food because if he was hungry, he was hungry plus it was his own money. She only decided on the applepie and when it was her turn pay, she handed over her money before turning her head to face Erec.
"Alright then, Erec it is" luckily she had no trouble saying peoples first names at the work floor. Because she knew there were some who couldn't shake off the formalities that easily.
If she wanted to sit together? Victoria thought for a split second and her real answer was no, no offence but she prefered to eat alone. But her mouth said "Sure!" Looking around for a place to sit, she spotted an empty table near the door. "That one is free" she said and walked towards it with the tray in her hands.

Rose had just put a piece of mystery pie onto her plate when a familiar voice interjected to responded to her question which had been more to herself than anyone else but it hadn't been rude. Glancing sideways at the blond man she immediately replied with a small smile pursing her lips when she recognized him. "Oh why hello Mr Aaron Rose! I just might take both actually to make up for a difficult morning, but I'll probably regret it later when I have to run an extra kilometre or two on the treadmill to work it off."
Not being able to keep herself from making big eyes at the hefty piece of chocolate mousse that Aaron scooped up onto his plate Rose asked. "Don't quidditch players have to be extra careful about what they eat to keep fit and healthy?" That was what all athletes had to do right regardless of sport?

Amelia laughed. "It's my treat then." She mused. Not that she really needed another reason to visit the dessert bar but having an explaination to officially tell people could come in handy.
Hold up. FBI? Amelia suddenly felt very self-conscious. So, uh, she had to watch herself around Megan. Not that Amelia was a threat to the nation or anything. But she probably shouldn't tell her she stole a lip gloss when she was 13...
And another when she was 15. Still. The FBI wasn't looking for her.
......
Were they?
"FBI, huh?" She nodded and tried to act natural. Be cool. Be cool. She knows nothing. They'd never catch her alive! "That's... Different. But good! FBI. They're good. " ... SHE WASN'T A CRIMINAL IT WAS ONLY TWO ITEMS, HOLY MOLEY STOP WITH THE GUILT. "You really changed your career path then. I thought like, once an FBI-person, always an FBI-person." Well, that was totally corny.
Back to talking about herself. Good, she knew all about herself. "After graduating Ilvermorny I took a few Potions and Defence Against the Dark Arts courses before moving to England this fall. I applied for a job and here I am!" No cool stories about working for the government though.

She agreed that was good. Erec always felt so weird when people called him by his last name. The formality of it just seemed so above everyone and that wasn't how he ran things. Everyone was a team, he was a team member not the leader of the team. He jumped in to help with every division when they needed he wasn't one to just sit in his office. His passion was the foreign policies and immigration laws. He lived for that stuff.
He headed to the table she had pointed out and sat his tray down. Pulling her seat out for her, he was a gentleman if nothing else. Then he took his own seat before looking at his treat. "I probably should have gotten real food for lunch today." A small laugh when he realized he had done this. Oh well, he was a single man, he could do what he wanted.
"So how are things going as the new division head?"

If Kay knew what Amelia was thinking, she’d have laughed in amusement. “Yeah, I like to be where action is, you know? I was with the Hostage Negotiation team and we got a lot of action.’’ Sometimes she missed all of that but then again, she loved the job here. It was a nice change and she had settled right into it. “Not all the time. If something drastic happens, change is a good idea.’’ Megan’s brows furrowed a little. “Are you okay? You seem nervous.’’ Merlin! It wasn’t her previous career that did that, right?
“That’s pretty cool! Sounds like you’ve got it all figured out. Got your eyes set on moving up further in the Ministry, I suppose?’’ Megan had often thought of this but at present, she really was happy where he was. “Holy carp! I think it’s time we get back to work, don’t you? Boss man would flip if we were behind on work.’’ She had only just looked at the time.

She seemed nervous? Cue nervous laughter. Nervous? Oh, silly, silly former FBI-person.
Amelia looked down at her now empty plate. "Moving up in the Ministry is... Always an option." She smiled. It wasn't like she was always going to be collecting poo-samples from no-majs' pets. She jumped slightly when Megan realized the time. She was right. They couldn't be slacking off, they actually had a lot of work to do.
"No, I agree we should go. Don't want to get on Bossman's bad side." ... She wondered briefly if his bad side was a kitty scratching her eyes out. EEP. Work it is. "Thanks again for the pie." She added, smiling over at Megan as they left the dessert bar and made their way back to level three.

The Mister, while quite flattering also made Aaron feel old and while sometimes his sports injuries reminded him that he was no spring chicken anymore, the last thing the thirty-two year old wanted was to feel old. "You may call me Aaron," he said simply, as he recalled upon her name, mostly because it was the same as his surname, so made for an easy recollection. "And I don't think you'll need to worry about an extra kilometre." Which basically his way of saying, she looked thin and wonderful, even if he didn't outright say it. Goodness women can be so vain sometimes, which was probably the fault of the patriarchy, so perhaps saying she didn't need to supermodel thin was something she needed to hear.
He did smile though when she noticed the large piece of chocolate mouse pie on his plate. "You're correct yes, but as I'm a retired quidditch player, guess I need to make up for the couple decades of watching everything I put in my mouth. And I have to admit, it feels good to not count anymore." Not that he was planning to gain 45 kilograms, but gaining 4 or 5, he wasn't going to quibble over.

Megan grinned. She could see the body language there, Amelia. But she wasn't going to press her new friend lest the woman became jumpy or edgier around her.
"Shoot for Minister for Magic or Department Head at least,'' the blond said with a wink. Was she shooting for either? Not particularly. After being Head of the Hostage team and after all the tragedy, she had quite lost her liking for being in the spotlight. Now she preferred to be in the backseat while someone else led.
"If we do ever get on his bad side, we can always bribe him with apples, He loves apples.'' They were the man's weakness. "Not a problem! You still have to get that cookie.'' Was she insisting on fattening Amelia? Possibly. She followed the woman. Back to work!

Had she made him uncomfortable? As fleeting as that thought occurred to Rose it disappeared as Aaron granted her the gift of calling him by his first name. It would have gone weird fast if he hadn't. Turning more towards him she murmured in response "And you may call me Rose." Not even her boss was stuck on formalities with using Ms Kitridge unless the setting warranted it, thank the stars. The only one who used her full name was her mother when she was in trouble. And that made her feel young all over again. It felt good to be a little over 30.
The subtle flattery of Aaron's didn't go unnoticed and it even caused Rose to blush like a flower and murmur simply. "Thank you." Lifting her plate of pie and candy up she looked around for somewhere to sit as Aaron confirmed her thoughts from orientation night "How long did you play professionally and count your calories?"

Ah good, it was agreed for him to call her 'Rose', which Aaron had to admit was good because right now he could not recall her surname. "Thank you, Rose." He confirmed, smiling to himself in amusement about her name. Mostly because he was having a flashback moment to years earlier on the Hogwarts and Luxembourg Quidditch Teams when he was called 'Lil Rose'. Gone were those days and even though he was still quite spritely, he was no longer a twelve year boy.
Oh, she caught his subtle complement? "Anytime," he grinned; having a big sister and a mother definitely made him aware of the importance of complementing women. Noticing her glance around for someplace to sit, he waited for her to choose the spot and he would just follow. How long did he play professionally for? "Since I was sixteen, so just about fifteen or sixteen years... Although I played for my house team and they basically were training for us to play professionally, so our meals were carefully crafted well before I was drafted." Which meant it was definitely at least two decades of carefully crafted meals and watching what he put in his mouth.

Either she was a slow walker or he had walked a bit faster to reach the table first. She looked puzzled for a second but when she saw that he was simply pulling out the seat for her , she smiled. It wasn't everyday that a man did that and Victoria found the gesture sweet yet odd as she had never experienced it before.
Thanking him, she sat down on the chair and crossed her legs under the table. As he spoke again, the woman looked at his plate and couldn't agree more. "You could always buy something else" she said. "Just...not any more desserts..." She laughed though not at the idea but because she could see Yoongi's face looking disgusted at their plates. Weird brother she had, not enjoying desserts.
Picking up a fork, she pushed it in the apple pie she had bought and began to eat it. "Id's a bid scady" she answered with a mouthful of pie. "i mean" she said after swallowing the piece of pie. "It's a bit scary because its a bigger responsibility, but i'm confident i'll manage it"

Her looks didn't go unnoticed and he realized he." got those looks many times when he did things like this for women. It was odd to him that they didn't expect that sort of respect. He held doors for men as well, it was just his way and he hoped other's would share in the respect. No matter though he started to eat his cake.
"Yes I could." He had thought about it for maybe a moment before eating more of the cake. "The egg smuggling has me eating more junk I'm afraid." He would admit it, it didn't matter to him that he showed he was a bit stressed. "Tried to do an auction dating over break, I guess I should watch what I eat in case I get another date from it." These words might be more for himself then actually to her though he just shrugged it off and continued to eat. Laughing as she did he could see how ridiculous it was for him to get both the cake and the ice cream.
'Don't be, you will do great. If I didn't think so I wouldn't have put you there." He hated taking an employee from it, but the job wasn't being done and he needed to have someone he trusted in these positions. He was the boss even if he liked to be considered a teammate rather than a boss.
Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Natalie looked at the wonderful dessert menu and saw that her favourite dessert which was cherry pie was available. She grabbed a bowl and served herself a piece of pie. She paid for her dessert and left for the juice bar, taking her heavy tray with her.
