The Clarence

Located on Whitehall Road, an elegant and well-reviewed British pub and restaurant. It's prime location, roughly equal distance from the Trafalgar Square and the Ministry entrances, has made The Clarence a rather convenient dining place for both wizardkind and Muggles in the area. Due to close proximity and fair pricing, it certainly isn't uncommon for Ministry employees to grab a bite to eat here on a regular basis. The hours of operation (opening at 12 PM and closing at 11 PM) are perfect for those who are eager to take their lunch break or wound up staying at work late.

The Clarence makes use of two stories. The main floor is used for everyday meals and pub activity with a classic British menu. The walls of this area are a warm orange to welcome anyone that walks through the door, and seating is available both inside and outside. The floor above features the Tin Belly Dining Room and the Bulldog Bar, which respectively are reserved for more finesse dining and private social events. The walls are light mint green and are accompanied with elaborate seating. The menu is a bit pricier on this floor, but the food and service is said to be fit for royalty.

Remember to pay and tip with Muggle money. Who knows how people would react if Galleons, Knuts, and Sickles happened to be used as payment.

Art was pretty exhausted by the time lunch rolled around. The plants weren't behaving for him and, despite his best attempts of convincing them. They just didn't want to get into their allocated pots, even though they were growing so rapidly. He'd managed to get out a few minutes early for lunch, and had decided on The Clarence. He sent an Interdepartmental memo to his beautiful wife to meet him there. He already went to get himself an iced tea, and Gabby her favourite drink, before going to pick a spot with a good view.

Sooooo Gabby might be running SLIGHTLY late to meet with her husband for lunch, but that was only because of some issues that had come up on Level Six. Nothing MAJOR, but still quite a pain to deal with. But it had been sorted, and that was the important thing.

As she made her way to The Clarence, she smiled. There was Archer. And it looked like he had gone ahead and gotten her drink for her. Clever man. Gabby knew that she had done well to land him as her husband. "I'm sorry I'm a bit late. I was dealing with idiots again." She rolled her eyes, but she was happy now that she was with him.

Archer saw his beautiful wife approaching and stood to embrace her and plant a kiss on her mouth. "Hello beautiful," he said, waiting for her to sit before he sat back down. He chuckled at her mention of idiots. "What happened this time?"

Archer took a sip of his drink and was again hit with such appreciation for his wife, and their family. His wife was beautiful, no doubt, ever. But every now and then he was reminded of this. "You're glowing, darling," he said.

"Hey, my love." Gabby smiled and was happy to see her husband, even though she had only seen him not too long before. She gladly returned the embrace and kiss, before sighing at the idiocy of the people that she worked with. "Just people who have NO idea what they are doing. I sometimes wonder how they get hired in the first place." EYE ROLL.

Anyway, that was enough of that. She took a seat and had a sip of her drink. If only they could stay here for the rest of the day. Generally she really liked work, but right now Gabby did not want to deal with it. And yes, she WAS glowing. She smirked. "Yes, I most certainly am." And she was happy about the reason why it was happening.

"Well... sometimes finding a department that's short staffed makes it easy for imbecile's to find work." It was true. Although, back when he headed a cafe during his uni days, he took the short staff over hiring such people. Perhaps it was different in the Ministry.

Archer felt the sunshine on his skin, even from inside. It was nice. Archer gave his wife a loving smile. Their third baby. This time, planned. "Have you told Lynley yet?"

He took another sip of his drink, finding that he'd finished it. Remembering that it was a muggle establishment, and not The Leaky Cauldron, he went back to the counter to get refills for both of them.

Okay, Archer was right. Gabby sighed. "I just feel like they don't really appreciate me sometimes." She was amazing, and deserved nothing less than the best from her coworkers. And so many of them were just horrible! At least she had Lynley, who was amazing.

And speaking of Lynley... "No, not yet," she admitted. "But I will soon. And I am sure that she will take the news better this time." Because now she was a mother herself. So yeah... Hopefully it wouldn't be as problematic? At any rate, she was not going to kill Gabby's happiness. She was ecstatic over the pregnancy.

Patiently she waited for her husband to return with the refills. She had really lucked out with him.

Archer reached across the table to take her hands, striking her fingers as she spoke. He nodded. "Some people just don't appreciate a good thing until it's gone." Not that he was saying Gabby should quit or anything, but if she wasn't there they'd certainly notice.

Archer smirked, thinking back to some of his previous encounters with the woman. "I'm sure she will. How's her little one going?" Archer couldn't really remember anything about it. He couldn't even think back to whether it was a young boy or girl. "At least we can say this one was planned." The previous announcements, from what he recalled, were not taken well.

He placed the drink in front of her, and sat back down with lunch menus. "Are you feeling hungry?" He hoped she'd remembered to keep up with the potion from Zhenya.
