Morgan P. Nickles EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Minister for Magic, Morgan P. Nickles [IC January 2094 - December 2096; OOC October 2017 - October 2018]
Iwin Howell straightened his tie with his free hand, the other clutching the handle of the pet-carrier he had brought his precious Snowflake in. The grey kitten(who was slowly morphing into the kitten-cat stage of things) was purring contently in her bed. She wasn't usually a finicky cat, so Iwin would have been surprised had she put up a fit in her carrier.
Overall, his baby was well behaved, besides the usual kitten shenanigans. "Emsy will be here soon, Snow," he said with a small smirk as he set the carrier down and knelt in front of it. He wanted to take her out, but would Emmalee want her carrier? If so, that'd be sooooo counterproductive, for Em to have to carry Snow AND her carrier. So he just stuck his pointer finger into the cage and let her lick and rub against it. "Are you going to be goooood? You better be well behaved, Missy," he said playfully. HEhe.
He had also been super ridiculous and packed a bag. Snow had her travel food and water bowls, treats, food, BOTTLED water, etc...
Ahem.
Iwin was manly and also super into his kitten. There was nothing wrong with that.....
NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT.
Emmalee hurried up to the Atrium, having been delayed a bit by Ember. Striding over quickly, offering nods as she passed other workers, her eyes searching the entry area. She spotted Iwin before he could notice her and a smile broke out on her face, big and genuine, a rare sight in the ministry walls.
Her heels clicking on the hard tile, she stepped up behind him and put her hand on his shoulder. "Sorry, I got held up on my level," she said softly, waiting for him to stand. She glanced down at Snowflake's carrier... and the bag Iwin had packed and did her best not to laugh at how over the top he was with that little ball of fur.
"You got here alright?"

Iwin opened her cage up, unable to resist the BABY, and felt her claws LATCH onto his shirt, meowing softly, but a looooot. She was still purring, but she was also a bit nervous. He could TELL.
"Em--" he stood up quickly, smiling when he saw his WOMAN. He would have called her his GIRL but you know...she was a woman. Not a girl. Nope. He quickly kissed her cheek and had to hold onto Snowflake, who recognized Emmalee immediately and was trying to get at her. "You look--" he eyed her up and down. RAWR. "Nice." Ahem. "You'll come over at work, right? To mine?" Because now he was...uh....his girlfriend was just.....perfect, was all.
Ahem.
He composed himself and nodded. "I did. No problems or anything. I packed her a little bag--" he held it up. "Just...some stuff...you know. This is her first outing okay--" because he KNEW Emmalee would think he was being too doting for his baby. He shot her a 'DON'T JUDGE ME' look.
"You look...frazzled. Good, but...frazzled. Do I need to kick someone?"

Kissing his cheek, Emmalee smiled. He was here. At her work. Dangerously close to being on the other side of the work/personal life line that she always drew so distinctly. But she kissed his cheek none-the-less. So what if her coworkers discovered that Emmalee Quinn could be soft.
Her eyes trailed to Snowflake who was doing her best to get out of Iwin's arms. "Oh, come here, you sweet thing," she said, lifting the cat away from her boyfriend and cuddling her. She looked back up at Iwin to offer a smiley thank you to his compliment.
"I will. Once we're all done here, I'll bring Snowflake back." She absently gave the kitty little scritches behind her ears. "Do you want me to pick up dinner on the way?" They could pour over some more apartment listings since time was starting to run kind of short...
But the matter at hand...
"I see that," she said, lightly. "It'll be good to have." It was sweet, really, how concerned he was about Snowflake's wellbeing. She could only imagine him with a child... though if she took the time to think about it too much, she might realize how overly doting he might be with a human baby instead of a fur one.
Emmalee looked back to Snowflake, smiling as she continued to pet the cat that wasn't quite hers. "No kicking necessary. Just regular work annoyances."
Best not to tell him that those annoyances had a name.

Iwin finally released Snowflake over to Em, and when he did, his kitten latched onto her, nuzzling her cheek instantly, purring LOUDLY, her tail sweeping across Emmalee's hair. "She's excited to see you. I can hear her purring from HERE." He said, raising an eyebrow. He did love seeing his two favorite females together, though. Heh. They were just missing the little man, Charley. "Oh--that reminds me--we should take a family portrait once we....move in together." He said softly. "Us four--Me, you, Charley, Snowflake."
Ahem.
Iwin was not insane....noooope.
"Oh--yeah--can we do sushi tonight? I'm feeling sushi tonight. You know what I like." He winked and thought about the most recent apartments they'd looked at...and just none of them were doing it for him. Or her, really, since she hadn't really expressed immense desire for any of them yet. But maybe she was just withholding her opinion because she knew he wasn't impressed? Who knew. He should probably...um...ask. Or something.
"You have everything? Need me to carry stuff? I can do whatever." He didn't want to encroach on her...territory or anything, though.
Snowflake meowed, almost in a SASSY fashion, as she nestled in Em's arms, her greenish tinted eyes staring over at him....ugh. Iwin just had the feeling his little SASSY girl was trying to make him jealous...cats.
SNOWFLAKE, PLS.

As Snowflake curled up against her, Emmalee looked up, eyebrow slightly raised. A portrait? She could already feel the overboard extravagance and hoopla around such a thing and thought it a bit crazy. Never-the-less, she smiled. Because it seemed like it was a an acknowledgment that this was headed somewhere beyond just moving in. "We'll talk about it," she said, chuckling lightly. "Nothing super formal or anything, though, Iwin, please." Pictures. On like, a smartphone. No sittings.
The fluffy grey kitty shifted in Emmalee's arms at the mention of sushi as the redhead nodded. "I'll stop by that place you like on my way, then," she said casually. Their regular order, then. Heh. They had routines. Regular orders. Emmalee supposed that sort of thing would only continue once they moved in together. If they ever found a place, that is. Nothing had really struck Em's fancy. There were plenty that would be alright, but she was holding out for a place that they both loved. And.. so far, nothing.
"I can manage," she said, casting a glance down at the carrier and bag. Raising her eyes to his, though, she added, "unless you wanted to come see my level? I mean, it's probably close to chaos now with the pets and all..."
but he'd be welcome...

Iwin made a.....FACE. A "I am very displeased with your tone" voice. DID SHE THINK HE WAS CRAZY? Iwin thought she thought so. BUT BUT BUT BUT-
He refrained from calling her that nickname she HATED that started with an 'M' and ended with a "Y" and just pouted. "Emsy...Emsy...I already have a photographer lined up..Emsy pease...pease Emsy?" he asked, making PUPPY EYES at her.....the puppy eyes had NOT failed yet. And Emmalee had said...one day she'd be able to resist..so he had to milk that FOR ALL HE COULD RIGHT NOW. So..PUPPY EYES IWIN. And a cheek kiss for her...
But he did grin boyishly at her.."I love you." He said softly, not just saying it...flippantly right now. He MEANT it...and he'd mean it big time later if she got his very exact sushi order correct as well. But he had faith in Emmalee Quinn's ability.
He glanced down at his watch. "I have a meeting with some financial investors with dad--so I probably honestly don't have time.." plus he was nervous to see all her coworkers. O_O
Not that he's ever admit this ever in a million+ years. Nope. Not Iwin HOWELL.

"Iwin," she lowered her voice as her cheeks flushed a little at his, admittedly adorable, pleading. "I'm at work." She looked up at him, not sternly at all, but seriously. "We'll talk about it tonight, ok?" Not in the middle of the atrium. If he had already lined up a photographer, well, then maybe she could at least make sure things were informal. And maybe spend more time getting photos of just the two of them. Those could be nice....
"I love you, too," she said, still holding Snowflake close, but leaning up to kiss him on the lips softly, but quickly. "Go to your meeting," she said, smiling. "Snow and I will manage just fine and we'll see you tonight." With perfectly ordered sushi.
Emmalee turned her attention back to Snowflake, bouncing her just a little bit as the kitten purred. "You ready to get back in your carrier for a ride in the lifts, sweet girl? Hmm?"

Iwin siiiiighed. "Fiiiiiine." He said softly, ruffling his hair in that WAY he normally did. "And...the photographer might ...be easily cancelled." He said with an eyebrow raise. "I know it's over the top...I KNOW it is...but...Em...I...I'll explain later--" he didn't want to go into it now, in such a public place, about something so...personal. Maybe she'd be more into it once she heard his reasons...
He'd be thinking so much lately about...this start of their life together and...ugh. UGH. He was glad he found Em, he really was. But he found her much too late for his taste. It made taking his time about everything hard to do, and therefore they were moving so fast--so serious SO fast--and it might look odd to others, but Iwin didn't feel odd at all about it. Everything with Emmalee felt so right. It seemed his life was falling into place.
OOOOHHH HE GOT A KISS! He was the luckiest man ALIVE.
At least that's what he felt like, as he kissed her back softly, smiling all goofily. "Tonight, Cariad--" he winked and pet behind Snow's ears as he waved. They'd be fine.
There'd be no need to worry.
There'd be no need to worry.
He was almost out the ministry when he turned back and headed right back at Emmalee--"EM--Em be careful with her--"

Oh, she knew that hair ruffle. The redhead smiled and nodded. She knew that he must have his reasons and maybe, she thought, once she heard them, they could find some middle ground. Pulling away from the kiss, she nodded. "Tonight. I love you." She watched him walk away for a moment before she turned and crouched down to put Snowflake back in her carrier.
She was about to latch the door when she heard him call back at her. Looking up, she waved him off. "Iwin, for Merlin's sake, we'll be fine. I'll keep her with me the whole time and she'll be fine." She latched the door and gathered Snowflakes things.
Shifting the bag on her shoulder and grabbing the carrier, she stood and took a few steps toward Iwin. "Go to your meeting. We'll see you tonight."
With that, the Department Head turned toward the lifts. She had to get back to the Greenhouse before Ember decorated the entire place with fairy lights or something...

Coming in from the Restaurant across the street, Annabelle grabbed a coffee at the little stall. She hasn't had one since she arrived at work this morning, and it was after lunch...so that meant it was time for another one. The MLE working got the normal, a medium mocha latte, 2 sugars with cream. Taking a sip, she noticed she had a few minutes to spare until she had to get back down to the offices to get back on work. So, the metamorphmagus used this time to relax.
Letting her Quill and notebook go, they slowly started to fall towards the floor until she snapped her fingers. The notebook and quill abruptly stopped, and that shot back up to shoulder level, quill sliding into the binding of the notebook. Annabelle took her wand out of the holster inside her jacket, and put it on the hip one.
Coffee in one hand, the woman used her, now, free hand to fix her hair. It was time to readjust the color of it again. She had it navy blue for the past two weeks or so. Thankfully, she didn't have to deal with the hassle of actually dying it. All she had to do was think of a color, and it would change. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
Now...
If only there was someone to help her decide on the color...

It was starting to get to the point in the pregnancy that she would get restless sitting at her desk for too long. She was only twenty five weeks, but it was far enough that when Helena started kicking she could get uncomfortable and that was exactly what had happened. Victoria took that as a good time for lunch.
Making her way down towards the food court she decided to stop near the fountain in the Atrium and just stretch her legs a bit. She had been working hard on the Quidditch camp so she deserved a break. So many registrations, it was exciting to think how many children were going to get a chance to fly.
Taking a seat for a moment she rubbed her baby bump and looked around.

Agggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
All this thought made Annabelle's head hurt!!! The 28 year old needed to take a seat. Without thinking she sat down next to a woman. It took a moment to realize that she actually sat down next to someone. Shaking her head a bit to snap out of the train of thought, Annabelle's head turned to the other woman. "Why hello there." French accent light and airy. The DMLE worker extended a hand to the other lady. "I don't believe we met. The name's Annabelle Blanc. I work for Magical Law Enforcement here at the Ministry."
Notebook floating next to her, Annabelle took a sip of her coffee. Her mind gently whisked back to the thought of what color her hair should be now. The thought came down to a dark, almost crimson, shade of red. The shade she had in mind wasn't to dark like crimson, but it wasn't as light as a normal shade of red. It was right in between. Just the way she liked it. Not to dark, but it wouldn't draw attention. The other color in mind was a purple. Not quite that of which an orchid is. More of a purple you'd find at a Mardi Gras Festival.
Directing her gaze back to the other woman, the former Ravenclaw kindly asked "Which color do you think I should go with?" Then she changed her hair between the two different shades twice. She didn't switch them right after each other. Annabelle waited a few seconds before changing the colors so that way the other woman could see. After the second time on the Mardi Gras Purple, she changed it back to her current, Navy Blue hair.

Trying to rub a food out of her rib, Victoria only briefly noticed someone sitting down beside her. Brown eyes turning as the woman spoke, “Hello” She smiled sweetly even with Helena still kicking her. This girl was going to be a beater she was sure of it. “Victoria Culloden, Divination Manager of Quidditch in Sports and Games.” Extending her hand her slight Australian accent still present though her years in London had lessoned it.
Curiously looking at the notebook she didn’t see many people do that, not that it was uncommon, but she just wasn’t aware that people walked around with a floating notebook near them here. Merlin knew she could use that some days. Especially now with all the work she had waiting for her. Her mind going back to the Quidditch camp and suspension paperwork she still had to figure out, it was just so much before September she really hoped to get it all done.
Seeing the woman changing her hair, Victoria couldn’t help but stare. “Oh I like them both I think, but if I had to pick. The purple one is very pretty. Goes well with your complexion.” Though she preferred the blue if she was picking, but that wasn’t an option so the purple was her favorite. “Have you worked here long?” She was down in MLE a lot over the years visiting Emily, so she knew faces even if she didn’t know names, and she just couldn’t place this one.

She still hadn’t quite gotten used to it all, yet there was a strange calming sensation insofar as she still was dropping a child off at the Ministry daycare. It just wasn’t Jemma, as Amethyst had needed to drop her off at school on her way to the Ministry that morning. She knew she could have let Gregory drop Julia off at daycare, but she had wanted to do it. It was her last little grasp at the normalcy that she had gotten used to before everything had changed. Before she’d moved and things had, honestly, gotten to be more than she’d ever expected for herself. Even given the awkwardness from before, she still felt like things were good. Her relationship with Parker was as mended as it could be, for Jemma’s sake, and she had Gregory now. And Julia, who was proving to be the perfect baby. She just felt like there was only a certain point where she could take advantage of working on Level One and sneaking her up with her.
In any case, after dropping her off, she’d stepped back into the Atrium to cross to the lifts and get to her level and her desk. There might have been a slight glance around her to check and see if anyone seemed shifty, but so far it all seemed clear. People weren’t really her enemy anyhow, although she’d kept a hand in her bag just to be safe.

It was going to be one of those days where she had meetings meetings and more meetings. All pretty much back to back, so she would be in and out of her odd all day. She was already thinking about once she got to her department she was heading it the coffee cart. Had to start the day out right!
The blonde was thinking about her coffee, that she did be hear the crack! that her heels made when she took a step. That was until she almost lost her balance. Opps she stopped pulled her shoe off and got her wand. She had to fix this ASAP!

As you walk into the Atrium, you’ll find your eyes drawn to a medium sized booth with a large white banner that reads, “We Welcome You To A-Were-Ness Week!” The table is neatly arranged with silver buttons and some pamphlets on werewolf rights for those curious or eager to learn more.
Step right up and one of our Creature Department Members would be more than happy to sell you a button (or two, or three), or if you have any questions about the cause please direct them to our Junior Werewolf Advisor and Werewolf, Taladona Jordan, who is more than happy to answer them.
Not a button person? A small jar with a handmade sign reading "Donations" is set off to the far end of the table and every little bit helps so if you're feeling generous, anything you could give would be appreciated!
OOC: Hi, everyone! Buying buttons starts here and will carry on throughout this week. If you'd like your charrie to buy one, please title your post "Buying a Button" or something similar, so the creatures members will know who to help! THANKS!
Taladona was ready, she'd been ready since the moment she'd woken up this morning to come in and sell these buttons and answer questions and make... a difference. Change things, change views. That didn't stop her from being nervous, however, and Tala was very nervous as she sat behind the booth, sipping at her coffee while she waited.
Merlin, all she wanted was for this to go well, for everything to fall into place. This was so important and not just because it was a cause she was so intimately tied up in, but because it was an issue that needed to be addressed.
Putting down her thermos, she fiddled unnecessarily with her engagement ring. Anytime now.

Lynley Purcell decided to make an appearance. She liked Taladona. What a feat it was, to have Lynley's approval and...well, friendship. Stepping right up to the booth, she smirked at Taladona and...gave Harmony a slight nod of her head. Hippies.
"Well...I suppose I'll support the cause since...you know...go werewolves." Was that impolite? It might be. Whatever. Her support was support. Taladona should not be offended by her support."I'll take ..." she was counting people in her head. "I'll take eight buttons." Her, her parents...that was three. And then her brother's family....five. "My family is in full support....of A-Were-Ness week." She thought she'd let them know that the Purcell's were a good clan of supportive people.
Lynley was definitely the most...grumpy one of the lot.

"Am I the first to buy any?" she asked casually.
Lynsey. Tala beamed at the Department Head. She was impossibly, impossibly fond of her, not just for the things she'd done for Tala, but because under all that prickly exterior and biting snark, there was a really good heart. "Hey, Lynley." She said, chuckling a little at Lynley's words and her not-quite-enthusiasm. "Great, awesome." Okay, Math, MATH. This was... something she hadn't considered when she and Harmony and worked on the prices. That she would have to figure out money.
she was better with credit cards and muggle money, honestly. "It'll be... Three Galleons and Five Sickles." She hoped that was right. She'd counted it over and over in her head.
It warmed her heart, Lynley mentioning that her whole family are standing in support, it meant so much to have people who might not have been affected by lycanthropy show sympathy and solidarity with the movement. "Tell them I said thank you and it means... so much." She didn't think she could talk too long considering, but Tala couldn't help leaning forward to speak with the red head. "Yep, you're the first, It's been pretty quiet, but it'll pick up." Tala was optimistic.

To say that Harmony was pleased with the work Tala had done to bring this idea to life would be an understatement. The Department Head was extremely proud of one of the youngest members of her staff, finding the witch's passion and commitment to the cause inspiring. Now it was her job to support, and so she arrived at the atrium already wearing her button. It complimented her outfit quite nicely, didn't it?
Lynley and Tala got excited finger wiggles, though the red head didn't want to interrupt. Instead she went over and slipped some money into the donation jar. She was eager to help and hopefully someone would see her actions and follow suit.
Lynley chuckled as she dug through her wallet for the appropriate amount of coins. "Well you know...more people will come as the day goes on.." she grinned and counted out three galleons...
What was she doing?
She squinted at the coins in her hands...
"What is this? What--how many do I give you?" she held out her wallet for Tala to count...she was confused...how...how did money work again? She couldn't even remember how much Tala had said. The buttons on the table were pretty, and for some reason they made her laugh.

The eighteen-year-old was happy enough to support the Werewolves in A-Were-Ness Week. Into the Atrium she went, on her way up to the office. She had her new green lab coat on, ready to get to work. And approaching the desk, she smiled at all of those around her. "Hello, hello," she said cheerfully, looking at the buttons. Oh, they were lovely! She saw the ministry worker with the department head, the Werewolf. Zhenya had proudly brewed the Wolfsbane potion last year, but wasn't sure if saying that might be a little insensitive. So, she didn't mention that.
"They're lovely buttons, may I have... three please?" Yes, that would be good. She would have one, and she would send one to the twins. Start with the next generation, you know.

Tala wasn't the only one who hadn't quite thought about the math portion of this whole money making venture. Still, Harmony was here to help so she stepped right up as a rather cheerful woman approached. Her aura was orange, did she know? It was a very good thing, of course. The red head was glad she got to be the one to deal with her.
"Hello there!" The creatures department head was equally cheery in her reply, smiling fondly at the buttons before selecting three and handing them over. Now for the math....
"That'll be...one galleon, 4 sickles!" Yup, that was right. Err, yeah.

Laugh a lot.
Like, a LOT.
Giggling uncontrollably, now....
Tala nodded. There would be more people, hopefully not so many that she'd be flooded, but enough that they'd have a non-stop flow and make some serious galleons... Speaking of which... It.. Was... Unusual to see Lynley struggle with money and Tala frowned at Lynley's request for help.
That was even less like the woman. "Three Galleons and five sickles, Lynley.. Merlin, and people call me air-headed." She joked, nudging the Department Head in a teasing manner. Biting her lip in some confusion, the young woman reached in and took out the appropriate amount. "Are you okay?" Concern settling in her green eyes.
Tala glanced over as Harmony popped in, not missing the donation the older woman slipped into the jar. The Blonde positively beamed at her boss, giving her and the young woman who stepped in to buy a button a pleasant wave.
Somehow, watching Harmony having trouble with the money and math as she had made Tala feel about ten times better about earlier.

Well this was different. He had been in and out of the ministry a few times since taking on the Liaison position. So much had changed since he had accepted that from Basil, hell Basil wasn't even around anymore. The journalist thought about paying his old boss a visit some time, but this wasn't the time to think about that. No, he had heard from his wife about a little awareness that was going on and it had peeked his interest.
Making his way towards the group he glanced around noticing the buttons, "Now what will buttons do to help awareness. I mean people wear them, but is that really helping awareness?" He was very curious as to what brought this awareness on and how they thought they were going to spread it. What was the outcome? So many questions that needed answers.
