| Testing Room Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee As you walk into the next room you will notice this one set up a little different. It has different areas sectioned off so each product that has been talked about can be shown to you in a hands-on way. As you'll see there is plenty to see and tryout in this area. Take the chance to get your feel for the latest products and see for yourself how well they will help us become a cleaner and safer for the environment wizarding world.

Just like Ella was drawn to the creature-related topics, Alice also had priorities at the summit, thanks to her careers: everything else. She didn't care too much for animal protection (sorry, Summers), but she did care about pollution. Astronomers despised smoggy air— Merlin knew that was a pain when trying to do her work.
That wasn't to say the Magpie didn't care just as much about her other vocation, though. "The turf!" Weird that it looked like the grass on her beloved pitch, wasn't it? Her friend should have known she'd be drawn to that. Maybe Ella should have brought Alec, too. "Yeah, we meet pretty regularly." Any Royal Astronomical Society gathering or just the casual lunch left Alice on familiar terms with her former mentor. "I never called him Professor in the first place, luckily for me."
Such a respectful child, she'd been.

| Anyone? Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Was this her cup of tea? Well if she was being honest maybe.
Vicotria loved to be in the know and she loved seeing things that were around to better their lives and the future. When you had children you thought about the future often. After entering the event Victoria took her rounds before finding a room that was for testing different products. This was exactly where she liked to go.
Her first stop was the turf of course, though she was about sick of hearing this concept. It had been in her world for a few years now. She had meetings and owls about it constantly. She was tired of the entirety of it and was ready to make the changes. She let her fingers run over the turf and then over the grass. The feel was, of course, different and you could always tell real grass from fake. This, however, wasn't going to really be walked on that much since Quidditch was in the air. So having it on the ground would make the pitch look incredibly nice while the action was above it.

Charity kept having to remind herself to network. It went against her instincts to be so amiable. But seeing as she had been sent as one of the few representatives from MACUSA, she had to fulfil the networking - outgoing - casual talk - portion of her WERP obligations. Quote:

Oddly enough, Charity had some experience with playing on turf and while it was harder to wreck, it was a beast on your clothing. ”So,” she said walking up next to the witch. ”Are you pro- or anit-turf?” In America it was actually a very dividing subject, especially for muggles who enjoyed playing (American) football or even baseball. |

Such a respectful child, she'd been. Of course she'd noticed the turf. The blonde moved closer, running her fingers absently over the surface of the green and comparing how it felt to how a real Quidditch pitch felt when you dismounted your broom and flopped down to catch your breath. She'd had many of those moments in her life and somehow this just didn't feel the same. "Always marching to the beat of your own drum, Alice." Ella smiled, amused. She would've never had the guts to call a professor by anything other than their surname, even if they were a bit out of the ordinary like Flamsteed tended to be. "And you realize how old that makes us, right? Having professors who taught us as colleagues and friends. When did that even happen?" It was usually moments like these when she reunited with friends from childhood that the reality of this, the growing up thing, hit home. "Thank Merlin we aged so well."

It was usually moments like these when she reunited with friends from childhood that the reality of this, the growing up thing, hit home. "Thank Merlin we aged so well." She followed Ella's lead and let her fingers go haywire in the turf, but Alice really wanted to STEP on it. That was the only way she could tell, y'know? The feel of splayed limbs sinking into spongy earth after falling tens of feet from midair was hard to replicate. Not to mention it didn't smell like a pitch either.
Needed a lot more grassy scent. And dirt. And sweat (buckets of that).
Wandering towards the vanishing containers, the former Gryffindor had a smile playing upon her lips. "Yeah, Hogwarts definitely liked that." Staff of the 2083 administration would forever have an impression of her, that was for sure. "I'm not sure, exactly. I only have one that's a friend, so it's kind of easy to forget." And he had a kid, which made Alice feel super young regardless.
But Ella had TWO kids, so she was just.... not going to mention that. "You've aged well. I'm pretty sure I saw a gray hair this morning." 27 did not look good on her, all right? Her knees were starting to sag!

She hadn't been there for long before someone had joined her. Victoria moved over to give the lady some room. She hadn't really even been paying attention to the others in the room. She found that since having a few children she was good at just putting blinders on from the rest of the world and only focusing on what she was thinking about.
She turned her attention to the woman though as she asked her question. All she really could do was shrug before answering though, "I don't really see the issue either way. I've been working with this stuff for awhile and I see the pro and cons to both. The turf is less work, it looks nice all season and off season. People can step on it more without putting ruts in it for events held in the stadiums. Using it does take away maintenance jobs though. Ones that would be hired to water and maintain the real grass wouldn't be needed. So I can see both arguments." Plus if you get into the cancer causing debate that was all new information that could be talked about. "What about you?"

Hogwarts RPG Name: Armand Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Damien Beta-Erikson Slytherin First Year | Anyone! Slytherin by heart Slade made his way into the Testing Room, having barely managed to get past the protesters. He looked at the goodie bag in one hand, and the pamphlet that had been shoved into the other. He sighed, not wanting to litter, and put the pamphlet in the goodie bag. He could dispose of it when he got home. He looked around at the various tables and decided to go to his right and circle the room from there. It seemed like the best option. Perhaps he chose right because that was what right-handed people did. Would his father have gone to the left? He wasn't certain. Odd this like this often crossed his mind, and he compartmentalized it to question his father later. For now, it was time to see what they had to offer.

Adhemar looked around the testing room for several minutes, trying to decide what product to try out first. That vanishing potions container looked very promising; he hoped those would be available to the public soon. He had to get one of those for his sister! Then there was the quidditch turf demonstration. Too bad his son wasn't here. They would've loved to take part in that! Oh well, at least he had the t-shirt in the goody bag he could give him.
He meandered through the displays, trying his hardest not to act like a kid in a candy store, but for an environmental enthusiast like himself it was difficult. He was so distracted by the products that he wasn't looking where he was going and accidentally bumped into someone (Slade). "Oh, goodness! I'm so sorry!" he exclaimed. Keep your eyes on the road, Ad! he silently scolded himself. He smiled politely as he got a good look at the person he just crashed into. "I'm Ad Ryder," he introduced himself,
extending a hand toward the other man.

| *whistles* Another group of activists had found their way from the Atrium into the testing room, where a couple seemed interested in testing the artificial turf. "No, no! We're not being paid to test stuff!" a brunette woman whisper-huffed at the two (guys obviously), pulling them away by their ears and sending a quick spurt of water at the turf for good measure. Enjoy your wet, fake grass everyone!
Meanwhile, they were just going to be over here in their anti-WERPS shirts loudly wondering just why a conference that was supposedly about supporting the environment was touting fake grass anyway. "That artificial stuff can't be good for the environment they supposedly love. What's wrong with real grass, anyway?" |

Oh goodie, they didn't stay in the atrium. What did they have against environmentalism anyway? He had to admit, it wasn't his particular area of interest, but for goodness sakes he was trying to find some enjoyment. They had been encouraged to come, and the least he could do was give things a shot. It was rather hard to do when those loud, obnoxious people were around.

She hadn't yet found any in her own head and Merlin forbid her husband starting graying at an early age, they'd need to hold some sort of funeral for his beautiful head of hair. "Must be all that hard work you do. It was bound to take a toll on you sooner or later." Really, though. Ella was forever impressed with what the former Gryffindor was able to accomplish in her studies while still maintaining her Quidditch career. It was a lot.
The sight of the activists made the blonde's stomach uneasy. Not that she was against standing up for what you believe in, she would never frown on such a thing. It was just she had the uneasy feeling that they were here to cause trouble more than they were here to bring awareness to their cause. "You don't think anyone will get into a fight over this, do you?" If they did, at least Ella was with her hulk. Surely the chaser would have no problem protecting them both. Maybe she could even bite someone. Hey, it'd be just like old times...

Just in case there were some at the conference who were avoiding the dinning terrace, the microphone had been charmed to have a type of intercom effect. Which meant that every room (save for the Atrium) was hearing Butch's speech. "Now, I know you all are wondering just what my fellow activists and I have against environmentalism and all that. Well, we don't have a problem with environmentalism. It's just that the environmentalism that the Ministry is trying to sell you here one: isn't true environmentalism. It's not ripping up the real, natural grass that's growing out of the ground and replacing it with fake grass made from tires and who knows what else just avoid using pesticides and herbicides or a little bit of mowing. It's not casting spells on trees just so they grow quicker than what nature intended just so you can have some shade or being vegetarian or vegan just because you heard some whacky rumor that cows help contribute to global warming. It's about caring for the planet you have by reusing and recycling, using stuff made out of recycled materials, conserving water and electricity anyway you can (within reason), finding cleaner ways to get said electricity and finding natural solutions to our bug and weed problems.
Secondly, some of the things suggested here put us at risk of being exposed to the Muggles. Which not only violates the International Statue of Secrecy, but puts us in great danger. Because, as much as the Ministry may want to deny it, Muggles are not our friends. I mean, just look at how they treat those amongst themselves who are different! And just as they have in the past, if they knew about us, they would turn that hate over and use it to persecute us into the ground.
So, these are the reasons we are here to protest today. Not because we don't love our environment, but because we do." And with that, Butch turned off his mic and stepped off the stage while his friends moved in to take down the stage. The female activist smiled in satisfaction. And the guys with relief, because they knew their leader was thisclose to thumping the next person she heard wondering just what their major malfunction was.
Though, it didn't stop their comments on just exactly how stupid the artificial turf was. |

Would explain why it's so easy to steal a Quaffle from him." Grin. She was a great wife, huh? It was SO surprising she didn't have more men running after her, really.
Her? Hard work? "I'm sure you have a tough time, too. Can't be easy, taking care of kids and dragons." Alice would much rather juggle two careers than two toddlers. She wouldn't have been good at it either, considering that (even at her age) she was just as impulsive as a child. And, of course, she had to show off that Gryffindor splendor by completely missing Ella's discomfort and sidling up to an activist.
Couldn't be pulled into a fight if you initiated the conversation, right? "I like real grass better, too! And I play Quidditch, so I'm pretty sure my opinion matters." Definitely did. "I'll support the Ministry if they can make it smell more like dirt, but until then, I'm totally on your side." Yeah! She gave those protesters a THUMBS UP.
They must have been so honored to speak to her.

Erikson," he said; the next words got a slight chuckled from him. "Yes, I suppose I was; it's rather easy to do. Do you have a favorite display?"He was partial to the quidditch turf display himself. Speaking of which...
Oh, no! He rolled his eyes as he saw the activists approaching. He'd go along with the singing and the pamphlet sharing, but this was going a bit too far!
His wand was out the moment he saw the water the female activist sent at the turf, and he performed a quick drying spell. Sure, the water wouldn't hurt anyone, but it could be very annoying for anyone who wanted to use that display! "That was completely uncalled for!" he blurted out before he could think twice. He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Look, I respect your opinions-" Well, their opinions on grass over turf at least... not so much the ones on muggles and environmental responsibility. "-and your right to share them, but this is not the way to do it. If I see you disrupting one of these displays again, I'll have to get MLE involved." He would've said more, but the voice over the intercom drowned him out before he had the chance.

Slade waited patiently as a loud voice came over as through an intercom. Really, what else could he do? While he had half a mind to hex every one of the activists, of course he wasn't going to. When it was finally over, he shook his head. "Aside from the issue about muggles, these are all very muggle concepts. I swear..."
He sighed and looked back at Ryder. "To continue before we were so rudely interrupted... I'm actually quite interested in the vanishing container. I've been working with various experimental potions for the longest time, and some do turn out quite hazardous. The vanishing container seems quite the simpler way to handle these potions, and much safer. If it works as it appears to."

He just had that air about him, the one that said 'I think I'm much more important than I really am'. The one that made her hand twitch and want to smack him into next year.
But no. "If the MLE was really all that fussed with making us leave, don't you think we'd be gone already?" Yet, here they were still. Think about it Mr. Important. Quote:

Her?
Hmm. A Quidditch player, you say? Yep, Tabby thought she recognised her. Though she couldn't place the name or team right then. But the most important thing right now was that she was agre-
What? "The only problem you have with it is that it doesn't smell like real grass?" Really? What about the drainage issues, the fact that, decades after invention, they still weren't sure what exactly was in the stuff? Or that it can't grow at all?
Mannnnnn, they weren't getting paid enough to be around these people. |

But no. "If the MLE was really all that fussed with making us leave, don't you think we'd be gone already?" Yet, here they were still. Think about it Mr. Important. Adhemar's grip on his wand tightened, and his eyes flashed warningly as he saw the female activist's hand twitch. He really didn't want to fight, but he was prepared to defend himself if she tried anything stupid. He took a deep breath, trying to calm his rising anger before his temper could escalate the situation. "Oh, trust me, MLE is about to become very fussed," he replied coldly. That was the last warning she would get. He wasn't interested in pursuing the conversation any further.
"Sorry about that," he said, turning his attention back to Erikson. He nodded along as he listened to the other man's answer. Oh, so he was in experimental potions? That was impressive! "Yes, I've seen how dangerous experimental potions can be," he replied with a slight chuckle. Having a healer sister and an alchemist daughter had given him a crash course! "That one is one of my favorites, too." Well, that and the quidditch display... you know, before Miss Troublemaker and her friends showed up. "How long to you think it'll take to hit the market, assuming it works properly, that is?"

Slade looked over to where the display was. "Perhaps a year or less, if they're showing it here. Or at least, I would hope so. I'd had to find out something had gone wrong and it's going to take longer."
