Our safer plants like what you have in your hand are grown in there. We also have Scurvy grass, roses, Lily's, Honking Daffodils, roses, and the smaller things we've experimented on." Leaning forward a bit he was more excited to talk about his greenhouse. "Now in the other greenhouse we have Angels Trumpet, Hemlock, Venomous Tentacula, and some cross breeds I've been working on." Those were the best part. "The name sounds a bit familiar I think I have met her a time or two." He dealt with many Herbologist, so it wasn't uncommon for him to forget. A chuckle left him at her assumption, "I don't know if I'd say rich, but I live well." He was thirty and didn't have many bills, so he certainly got by.

"Both" He stated matter a fact, "We send over new creations for ministry approval and if they request something we will send that as well. At times we've hit an experiment that have given us issues so we've needed them to come in for it." He had worked well for the most part with environmental department.

Enough about him though, he was glad the conversation switched to her. "Theater, that's interesting. Have you acted in anything big?" He listened very impressed. He was on a date with someone possibly famous or close to being. "So you've been in movies for muggles or just theater?" Either was very interesting and he wanted to hear more. Seeing the server he glanced to Many, "Would you like some wine?" He sure was needing some to possibly calm his nerves.
Wow, look at Mr. Formal go! He sure was enthusiastic about his plants. He sounded just like her aunt. Merlin. Amanda only paid half-attention to him as he yapped about his greenhouses and plants and started thinking what a family of crazy Herbologists would look like. Imagine if the wife was like her aunt and the husband like sir Pompous here; their kids coudl be green! Now, THAT would be an interesting story. "Cross breeds?" Mandy repeated as her imagination took her elsewhere. "That sounds fascinating!" She commented, probably for different reasons than the ones he was telling her about. "Yeah, my aunt's everywhere, she's really talkative and has a passion for plants. Kind of like you." She added with an amused smile.

This time Mandy did listen to what he was saying. She leaned forward and looked around them before whispering. "You're not hiding anything from the Ministry there, are you?" Heeeeeh, she was only joking and soon was sitting back on her chair again as if she hadn't said anything.

"Why, of COURSE it's interesting!" Theatre was LIFE. "Hm, well, depends on what you call 'big'. I wasn't on stage in any West End shows... yet." Heehehehehehe. "Though Muggles do love the theatre in London, it's brilliant! We had a full house pretty much every day when I was working in The Comedy of Errors. But wow, Muggles would go mental if they saw how we do theatre!" Mandy told him with a firm nod. "I was tempted to tell them a few things last year, but of course I didn't." She wasn't that crazy. Besides, she wasn't as good at Memory Charms as her father. If she were, maybe she would've tried it, heh! "Just theatre, movies aren't as fun." Not that she would know, but yeah. "Theatre has a buzz to it, y'know? It's brilliant. Have you ever been involved in a production before?" It was an experience Mandy believe everyone should have at least once, mmmhm!

As for the wine. "Suure, why not!"

His grin grew, "We have a few, I've done some different ones that haven't turned out very awkward." Those were sent away quickly of course, but he had been working on a new experiment that he was becoming rather excited over. "Do you like plants?" Since her Aunt was a famous herbologist maybe she liked it as well.

Scratching the back of his neck he just laughed. "Hid from the ministry. No not that I can think of, but if we did. I'm still not sure you are trust worthy yet. What if you were really an Auror just trying to bait me." Of course he was joking, but he could have a little fun with his nerves. They had a few run ins with law over their plants before, but that wasn't first date talk now was it.

When she started talking about her theater Alan could see she was very passionate. He sipped on his wine and listened. to her. "No, I've never done anything with theater. Not much of a performer. I'm much better suited for the audience and clapping." He couldn't handle being in front of people speaking. So theater was the last thing he should do. "Your experiences sound exciting though. I bet it's interesting to work with muggles." He wasn't around them nearly as often anymore, but they still fascinated him.

Pouring her a glass he figured they'd probably needed to order soon. Though he was enjoy the conversation about what she did.

Was as good place as any to sit and he began to head that way.

Braith couldn't help but to chuckle a bit at her line of questioning. "I guess my accent gave me away," he said, the beginnings of a grin appearing on his face as he slid into one side of the booth. "No, I'm American. Born in New York City.. I tend to travel a lot, but yeah.. I live in London for the time being." He pulled one of the menus from the side of the table closer to him, though he had an idea of what he might order having frequented the restaurant a few times in recent days. "What about you? Grow up in the area?" Her own accent would indicate that perhaps he was correct in his assumptions, but his ears weren't attuned to the differences in British regions.
New York City, was it? And here he was living and working (she hoped) in London, which was half way across the world, as far as Lucie was concerned. Traveling a lot didn't replant you in a different place. It just meant you saw the world more. There was more story here, definitely.

"For the time being? Sounds like you left your heart back in the Big Apple? I always wondered why they called it that. Is there actually an apple? Do they grow them there?" She was off topic, but when else would she have a chance to ask a real New Yorker about that nickname?

She took a menu as well, giving it a cursory look. "I grew up a bit more rural, although I'm a city girl now. My brother and I share a flat over my shop." Pause. "I own a shop. What do you do?"

"What are they like?" Mandy was curious about these cross-breeds. "Well..." She pulled her thinking face when he asked if she liked plants. "I can't say I do... not like you and my aunt, at least. I don't mind them." The aspiring actress shrugged. "Prob'ly am not patient enough to look after a garden." Hehe, true dat.

Mandy tossed her head back as she laaaughed at his next remark about not being sure she was trustworthy yet. "You're a clever one, aren't you?" She winked then wiggled her eyebrows. "Maybe I am, maybe I'm not." Tun dun duuuun!

He was more suited for the audience and clapping? "Why, that's good! We need those people too!" Heeeeh! "What would the world be if everyone was here to do theatre and not watch it?" Teeeerrible, mhm. When he commented on how interesting it must be to work with Muggles, Mandy wrinkled her nose. "Eeehhhh. I enjoyed it at first, but they got on my nerves after a while. They're so... limited, it can be irritating." She said with a shrug. "I mean no offense at all, but if only I could teach them some magic, I would. I actually considered that, but it wouldn't work."

She took the glass of wine he poured her. "Thank you. Cheers!" And she took a sip of it.

"You've never worked with Muggles before?"

"You've never worked with Muggles before?"

Alan just shrugged to her question, "Depends what you are trying to cross. My mum messed up once and crossed star grass and hemlock. Just imagine someone thinking they are getting an herb to treat their baby and it ends up poisoning them instead." He chuckled, though at the time it wasn't funny, it was lucky he had caught the mix up. He wasn't bothered by her answer, he knew not everyone would like plants the way he did. "Well there has to be someone just to admire our work. Can't have everyone just wanted to grow plants." Giving her a grin he picked up his wine and took a sip.

"Well I guess I need to figure that out before I reveal all my secrets not won't I?" Was this going well? He felt that it might be, but maybe she just thought he was a plant nerd. Though she was laughing and smiling, that was a good sign, he hoped.

Laughing a bit more he nodded, "You're welcome to have an audience then." He was glad to do something even if it was just watching and clapping. He listened as she spoke about working with muggles, it was interesting and he really was paying attention. "I could imagine how frustrating it could be, but I bet it gives you an advantage in some cases for different roles?" Honest question really.

Lifting his glass he smiled, "Cheers" This was a fun evening if nothing else.

"No, I haven't. The only thing to come close to working with one was I came across this poor woman trying to fight off a Spiky bush that someone thought would be fun to plant at their park." Still had no clue who would have done that, but that wasn't really his job to figure out.

Although he had the menu on the table directly in front of him, Braith hadn't yet opened it to look. Instead he had his attention focused on the woman in front of him. And he wasn't sure if her series of questions were because she doubted what he had said, because she was genuinely interested, or because she was a generally inquisitive person. But he found it quirky and cute and he chuckled lightly as he answered. "I'm suppose I'll always think of New York as my home no matter where I live." He thought that was fair to say of most people that where they grew up would be considered home though. "No, it's very urban there. Not a lot of apple trees at all. It's more of a metaphorical term.. it was used in a book once and I guess it stuck." It hadn't been a book Braith had personally read, so he didn't know the entire connection but it had come up in his research once.

He thought of Londan as comparable to New York in many ways, especially the city aspect, and did wonder briefly where Lucie grew up, but he figured that it was close enough to London or else she'd have mentioned it. And the living arrangement was somewhat interesting. He wasn't sure he could imagine living with his sister, though she did have her own family. "A shop around here? What type of shop do you own?" Maybe he had inadvertently shopped there.. that would be something of a coincidence. "I'm primarily an educator," he said, leaning back in his seat slightly. "Magical History... though I also do a lot of research as well. I was commissioned to work with some of the museums in the area for a program my university wants to develop." It was vastly interesting to him and he was excited about the progress already begun.

"Would you like to share a bottle of wine?" That was standard date decorum, wasn't it? He wouldn't mind a glass or two with dinner anyway and he flipped to the back of the menu for the selections.

Star gras?? Was she... supposed to know what that was? .....Well, she didn't, but the name was great! Star grass! She didn't recognise the other plant either but from what he said, that sounded bad. "Sounds bad!" Mandy stated the obvious, eyes not as wide as they'd be was she on stage. But oohhh, look at him copying her! Hahaha! "That's right! Poor blue amongst all them yellow lovers!" Was she talking in codes? Not that she was aware of, nope; it all made sense.

Haaah, this kid was funny. "That's right." Amanda didn't know how old he was, but she was calling him 'kid' in her head because she felt like it. He was a funny kid, she appreciated that. "Did you attend Hogwarts?" She asked casually, not caring about the fact they were probably surrounded by Muggles. She had learned that they'd either ignore the words they didn't know completely or just hazard a wild guess that was always wrong. No matter; silly Muggles were always going to be silly. "If so, what was your house?"

"The audience is always appreciated." She grinned and lifted her glass. Then shrugged again at the Muggle topic. "I suppose, but I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle. I mean, having to hide your amazinggg magic powers is tiring and it takes a lot of effort. Especially when you know you can solve things in a heartbeat and they take ageeees to do it." Mandy rolled her eyes and sat back on her chair. "Not sure I'm willing to do it again, to be completely honest." Besides, bad experiences had been baad. But yeah, this was no topic for a date, sooooo.

The brunette tilted her head and frowned slightly at his little story featuring the Muggle fighting a... bush. LOL. She could totally picture it and it sounded HILARIOUS. "Hah! So you saved the day??" Hahaha! "Are you... a pureblood by any chance?" Since he had never really worked with Muggles and such. Oh sweet Merlin, she just hoped he wouldn't be like her mother and sister if he was indeed a pureblood. Urgh.

She seemed interested in what he was talking about and Alan couldn't help but grin proudly. "Oh yes, could have been a real catastrophe. Someone needed a healing herb and got poisoned instead. The company would have been ruined, but I caught it quickly so no harm done." Which was lucky that he had seen it before something bad did happen. He had no clue what she meant by the blue and yellow, but nodded and sipped his wine with a grin. This was going well and she seemed to be enjoying herself.

"Hogwarts? No, I was actually educated in a small private school in Ireland." So no houses to be a part of. Though he did know about the houses, well a bit about them. "Is that where you attended?" Most people that he knew had went there and as a boy he was jealous that he didn't get to go, but he knew he got the best education and was doing well for himself.

"Well maybe the next time you are in something I should really be in the audience." Not that that meant there would be more dates, he'd wait and see about the, but he liked theater so it could be something fun to do either way. Listening he nodded, he could see how it was harder to hide magic and not be fully yourself. [b] "Yes I could see how that could be hard."[/]b Not sure what else to add to it since he hadn't spent much time with muggles.

"Half actually. My great grandfather was muggle on my father's side, but my grandparents are both magic and so are my parents." He wondered if that was an issue with her and maybe the date would be over if he wasn't pureblood. "What about you?" It really didn't matter either way for him, but he figured he could ask.

It hadn't been a book Braith had personally read, so he didn't know the entire connection but it had come up in his research once.

Oh, metaphorical. Lucie supposed that made sense, even if it didn't live up to the mental picture in her mind. New York was one of those places she figured she'd visit in her lifetime, but she just hadn't had the time or inclination yet. And now she found that it was probably just as urban, if not more, than her own beloved London. "If it's always your home, does that mean you hope to return there someday? Or do you consider London a home now too?" Not that she was pressing too hard, but if he was biding his time in London, it was good to know.

His asking about her shop made Lucie brighten up considerably, like someone had set something alight in her eyes. She was so pleased with her shop, because it was all hers and she was working so hard to make it a success. "It's called BeWitch. It's in one of the new Wizarding shopping destinations here in town, and my flat is above it. I sell clothing and accessories designed by local, independent designers and artists." It was unlikely he'd wandered in, unless he had a sister or mother who liked dressing well (or at least distinctively).

She listened closely to him describe his work. It wasn't boring... it was probably very interested, to be honest, but also a little intimidating. He was a brain guy. A smart one. Not so much up on the latest trends or how Quidditch teams were faring, but probably very conversant on intellectual pursuits. And she thought he might find her dull witted by comparison. "Magical History sounds very interesting and very... broad. Do you have any specialties?" She flipped her hair over one shoulder and cocked her head. "Program? What type of program?"

She sounded like an idiot, didn't she? "I prefer red, and I would love to share a bottle." Please please, have loads and forget to be smart for a while.

That was a good question actually.. did he see himself returning to New York? Braith always did tend to find himself back there at one time or another for a variety of reasons and he was pretty sure if his mother had her way that he'd move back there to stay and settle down. But he wasn't sure that was happening any time soon. "I think it's more my home in the sense that it's the place that I grew up.." People thought that way about their childhood homes, right? But he got the impression that Lucie likely lived in the same area her whole life so maybe she couldn't quite relate to his meaning. "And I still have a lot of ties there, but I call London my home right now. I've lived in the area a few years." Though there was some traveling to be had in that time as well.

It was easy to see the pride that Lucie had in her shop and Braith couldn't help but to smile as she talked about it. "That sounds quite interesting," he said, leaning forward slightly as he laid his arm at the edge of the table. "So your shop showcases unique, one of a kind pieces? That's great to give local artists that kind of opportunity." Of course it reminded him of an area of New York, though he really wasn't sure if it was the same or not. And he was pretty sure what he was thinking of was not a Wizarding location. "And your brother helps you run the place or he just lives there?"

He gave her a crooked sort of grin as she asked about his own line of work, happy to discuss it. "It is a rather broad subject," he agreed with a slow nod. "I suppose my specialties would include ancient Egypt and runic magic, but I've always been interested in magical theories as well." He supposed he attributed that in a way to being Muggleborn or maybe he was just inherently curious. He could talk for ages about it, but he had learned long ago that not everyone shared his interest and the last thing he wanted to do was bore his date to tears. He couldn't quite tell if she was genuinely interested or just being polite, so he tried to gauge her interest without going overboard. "It's an extracurricular program for kids not yet ready to go away to school but gives them a fun way to learn about magical artifacts from foreign countries without boring lectures." Maybe he didn't find lectures boring as long as it was a topic of interest, but he had learned that children's interest could not always be held so long.

He glanced down at the menu again at her mention of wine preference, then grinned a little. "Great, red it is.." That worked for him as well and he ordered a bottle to share as the server came their way.

"You're a rolling stone, I think." Lucie tapped her lip with one finger and measured just how much being a Londoner 'right now' and having roots in New York weighed on him. He was rootless, in a sense, or his roots ran so deep that even being away from home for years wouldn't uproot him. Was that how it was for Lucie too, or would she be able to walk away from London someday?

She was happy to talk about her shop, though, and Braith's enthusiasm was awfully gratifying. "Not necessarily one of a kind pieces, although sometimes that's the case. Mostly just local designers, and I support their fashion lines, offer a place for them to showcase their off the rack work. But my brother just lives there. He doesn't help in the shop. He has a job at the Ministry." And he was a lovely brother, her favorite person in the world.

When Braith began talking about his job, Lucie wondered if her eyes started to cross. It wasn't dull, far from it, but it was a subject she couldn't contribute to at all. Ancient Egyptian magic and theories? Extracurriculars for children... in archaeology? Merlin, he was smart. "Hands on? What age do you work with?"

A rolling stone, hm? Braith tilted his head as he contemplated the moniker a moment, a faint, reminiscing smile eventually forming. "I suppose that's an accurate assessment. Though I'd say I need to put roots down at some point, maybe that's what I'm doing here.." He had been awfully fond of the UK and he didn't have any plans on leaving any time in the very near future. Though maybe Lucie had a point. He did have a habit of going wherever his work took him even if he had been here a little while.

Hmm.. He grew lost in thought a moment on this topic, snapping himself out of it as the woman expanded more on her line of work. "Sounds like you really enjoy it," he said, his smile growing a little more. He could appreciate both the fervor she conveyed and the entire idea behind her shop. He'd presume that local artists might have a harder time getting their wares in the public eye and this was a nice service to the community. "How long have you had your shop?" He was actually curious to what led her to do something like that. And the brother living with her was an interesting situation, especially as it sounded that they both had at least somewhat successful careers. But he supposed it wouldn't be much unlike any other roommate situation.

Braith took Lucie's questions as genuine interest so he happily kept talking. "The program is for 6 to 10 year olds right now, but if it takes off there is talk of possibly expanding it to other ages as well. Typically I work with young adults." He'd say that was more his specialty anyway "But after doing a year at Hogwarts, I was asked if I'd be interested in spearheading this program.." And it seemed just like the challenge he needed.

Mandy widened her eyes. "Sweet Merlin, it sounds like it's going to be reeeeally bad if the slightest thing goes wrong!" Gahh, she would hate a job like that! Waaay too much responsibility and... even people's lives put at risk. No, thanks. She liked taking risks but not THOSE type of risks.

Small private school in Ireland? "I had never heard of that one!" The woman raised her eyebrows in surprise. "I always think everybody in Britain... and... well, Ireland went to Hogwarts!" She thought for a moment and reckoned that it sort of made sense. What with some of the Irish hating on the Brits and whatnot. Bunch of weirdos, if you asked her opinion. "So you're Irish!?" She blinked. Could she heard that in his accent? She listened more closely to try and guess. "Yeah, I went to Hogwarts. Best school ever!" Just sayin'.

"Sure! I can always let you know!" The bigger the audience, the better! Mandy wanted EVERYONE to see her perform. YES. "Actually, I'll be performing at the WWN Music Festival!" WIzard Wireless Network Musica Festival. Merlin, who had come up with THAT name?? So long! WWN it'd be. "It's not exactly a play, but let's say I'm... not exactly a musician so I'll have to... put up a play." The former Gryffindor miiight or might not like speaking in codes. She smirked and wiggled her eyebrows without saying anything else on the matter. If he wanted to find out what she meant, she'd have to go and watch her performance!

The 28 year-old nodded as he explained his bloodline. So he didn't have much contact with Muggle at all, even though he wasn't pureblood. After her experience with Muggles, she thought he was lucky. "That's really good for you! This way you're totally involved with magic and don't have to put up with all that Muggle stuff, but at the same time you don't need to deal with the whole 'pureblood' rubbish." She said as she considered everything. "You're really lucky..... you see, I'm a pureblood and my mother's side of the family is the stupid type of pureblood, if you know what I mean." She gave him a look before rolling her eyes. "My sister's the same, they're just really annoying and sometimes even rude." Mandy clearly did not approve of that. "My father's side of the family, however, is really open-minded and I even have a Muggle uncle now!" She beamed proudly. Not that she would ever want to go through what her aunt does, because that sounded like hell on earth, but still.

It was under her sister's begging that Erin had been convinced into this matchmaking scheme. Her sisters deal had been that she'd apply herself too, yet either way that didn't make Erin feel any better about it. She disliked the unknown and considering the story with her ex-fiance well let's just say her mind was not fully recovered in the trust of men area.

An hour though, or two? How bad could that be? She'd do it if she had to. It wasn't like she was expected to ever see this man again, whomever he was. Before she'd know it the night would be over and she'd be in bed with her usual historic book or the history channel tuned on. Her comfort zone was only two hours away; she would be alright.

With a breathe in and then out, the brunette crossed the road and made her way to the restaurant. She almost entered but decided to take another few moments outside before doing such. She was after all a few minutes early. Punctual, yes, but perhaps too much at times?

He couldn't help, but smile as she seemed very impressed with his work. A girl was impressed with his work. Yep it was dangerous working with plants, people just never realized how dangerous. One false move with some of them and he wouldn't be sitting at this table with a pretty girl, a very pretty girl. He sipped his drink nervously.

"Yes I'm Irish" Did the accent not tell her that? Though he hoped she wasn't one of those witches that didn't like someone just because they were from a different place. "It's just a small school, only around thirty kids. I could go to school then be in the greenhouses in the evening, it was the best place for me." He would say that he didn't like the fact that he didn't get to experience some things he had heard went on at Hogwarts. Quidditch was one, no playing it with just thirty students, but over all he was well off by going going where he did. "Let me guess, by what my friends have told me you were probably in.." He thought a moment, what were the names again, "Gryffindor?" He had a friend that had a similar personality so that was going to be his guess.

"Music Festival?" Had he heard about it? Big social things weren't really his cup of tea, so he might have skimmed it and then passed it off. He'd rather take the plants then a very large loud group of people. "Well that will be very interesting. I had no plans on going, but maybe for that I should." If this night went alright, maybe he'd think about it.

He couldn't help but just shake his head at her words, "In this day and age? How are people still so stubborn about that kind of stuff. There really are more half then pure." When would people wake up and smell the pumpkin juice. "Well I guess you just have to live your life the way you want and not let others bring you down. Plus do they really have to know the actual bloodline of someone? I mean unless the person was muggle would they really know?" Were they that bad that they go do a blood test on a person or something?

There were times when Howard Constantine just wanted to stay at home and curl up into the foetal position on his comfy sofa and pretend he didn't exist. Now, was one of those times. His brother had thought it would be a wonderful idea to apply to a dating agency on behalf of the widower, reasoning that he should get out there more. He was a goo---uh.. not bad looking chap, with his own home and a steady job. He was quite the catch, right?

Howie had spent the last three hours practicing the calming breathing technique his therapist had shown him...

('Eyes closed... deeeeeep breath in through the nose..
-hold for a moment or two...
-aaaaaaaand out through the mouth... ahhh...'
)

..to keep himself from having an all out panic attack..

Unaware that his date-to-be was standing close by, he lingered outside the restaurant, fidgeting nervously with his wedding ring.. He looked skyward, mumbling something, and then slipped the ring off and slid it into his pocket. He didn't feel like he was betraying his wife, as he didn't want to be here (He was only here out of politeness. What sort of a gentleman would stand up a lady?), but his beloved was a conversation he didn't wish to have tonight. Rest her soul.

Another deeeeep calming breath..

And another.

He should go inside really. Yes, yes.. that would be a plan..

Just a few more moments to calm his nerves first......

Her foot was almost through the door when Erin caught a glimpse of a man pulling off a wedding ring whilst muttering to himself. She frowned slightly as it gave her another reminder why men were never to be trusted. They were such cheats, anyone, anytime and in her ex-fiance's case any gender. It was a pity, it really was.

The brunette continued in her tracks trying to forget about what she had just seen. It had nothing to do with her and whomever that man had been, well it was his loss that he were to cheat in such a way. Hopefully the man she'd meet today would be tremendously more decent than that, a man with dignity of his heart.

A skim and scan was taken inside looking for a single man walking around, or even seated yet she saw none. Was she to wait for him standing or was she to seat herself? It had been much too long since her last date and she had a clueless mind as to what the man she'd be meeting would expect, as well as a clueless mind to the fact that the man she'd seen was her blind date for that night...

A quick last breathe and then she stood by the door, as she took off her jacket and held it on her left forearm. This way she'd at the very least spot him easily, or perhaps embarrass herself by asking every man that walked through the door whether he was here for her or not. The latter did not sound comforting and so she kept her mouth closed, her arms crossed and her feet together.

Mystery man would look around for her, he should, shouldn't he?

Yeahhh, Mr White! Yeah science!

Howard was in his own anxious little world and didn't, at first, notice the woman lingering by the door. He didn't know how to do this dating thing, let alone go on a BLIND date. His wife had been his childhood sweetheart and things had just developed between them naturally.

How was he supposed to find his date once he entered the restaurant? The thought of having to ask all the single ladies made his stomach churn all the more. They should have arranged to both wear a carnation in their lapel. That was how they did it in those old romantic movies Howard so dearly loved, wasn't it?

He took one last deeeeeeeeep calming breath, and then started toward the door, noticing for the first time the young lady there. It could be her. It could be anyone. Oh Merlin, why hadn't this been planned better? He squirmed at the thought of having to make the first move.

What he did know though, was that the woman he would be having dinner with tonight was a brunette. The agency had told him that much... along with her name. This woman was a brunette. A pretty one. He liked her dress. He cleared his throat.

“E-excuse me, ma'am..” He started.. and then had to pause mid sentence to gather his thoughts and attempt to self-calm. “Are you--D-do you happen to be a Ms Dixon?”

Generally Erin had patience, plenty of it, yet at this moment she couldn't help but gaze at her watch. Perhaps it was the anxiousness again or perhaps she wasn't sure what else to do but she kept her eyes on that watch for quite sometime. Her eyes only lifted when the restaurant door opened and the suspected-cheater entered.

Her face almost gave in a disgusted look before it formed to one of utter shock.

......He of all people here was to be her date??

This was going to be the disaster date of the century and not because Erin thought he was a horror show in looks; he was averagely alright in that category. Fairly tall for sure. Never mind that though, was it too early to pull the emergency card on him?

"Yes, Erin to be exact. Are you Mr. Constantine?" was her response. She noted his stuttering and could only wonder if he was so shaken up due to the act of what she so believed he was doing. Her hand extended for a shake. She wasn't the hugger type, not to a stranger anyways.

One hour or after her dinner was eaten, that was what she'd give him before she'd find some excuse to disappear. That way she'd earn herself a free meal whilst teaching the man what she thought was a needed lesson.

Howard was too nervous to notice the look of shock on his prospective date's face. His clammy hands clasped together in front of him, shoulders hunched making his six-foot-four-inches-of-tall make him look.. well, still tall.. but not as tall..

Oh, to be cursed with such an affliction! Howard envied the short people of this world. They were much better equipped to shrink into the background and not be seen.

It was her! Oh! Thank goodness for small mercies.

“Ms Erin, it's.. a pleasure to make your ac-acquaintance.” Howard unclasped his hands, and quicky shook her hand.. then shoved his hands deep into his ill-fitting, loose cord, trouser pockets. “P-please call me Howard.” He rocked on the balls of his feet a little. A nervous thing he did, not even realising he was doing it.

Thank Merlin she wasn't a hugger. Howard's application had specifically stated he liked boundaries. No invasion into his personal space please.

What now?

This was awkward.

“Shall we?” He gestured in a small clumsy little motion toward the tables. 'Go and sit.'

And get this over with.

So strange, the anxious movements and such.

Erin stared and partially didn't care that she was doing so. He could think what he liked because she had her opinions on him too, very strong ones in fact, even though she had spoken to him for-what only two minutes?

"Just Erin please. I get called Ms more than enough at work." None of that here, she preferred not be so formal all the time; not that she minded formality, not at all."Lovely to meet you then, Howard." Or perhaps not so lovely? And the rocking about...why...again was it the cheating?

Thank goodness! She thought he'd never suggest so. With an abrupt nod, the brunette walked towards the tables and picked a place where she placed her bag down and sat.

Was the food service good here on a busy evening at least? She sure hoped so.

Howard let out that anxious laugh of his. No Ms. Message received loud and clear! “Erin.” He repeated with a nod of the head. “I-I must say, Erin, that i-is a very fetching dress you're wearing.” Compliments, yes, that's what his self-help book told him you should do when on a date. Make a young lady feel special. Plus, the dress was nice. The lady inside said dress was attractive too... not that Howard liked to look. He cleared his throat anxiously.

Howard followed the brunette, hands deep in his pockets, shoulders hunched and looking like a overgrown schoolboy who had got into trouble in class and was being sent to the headmaster's office.

He would have pulled the chair our for her but she was already sitting. He sat, feeling impolite for that.. and picked up the menu to scan it. “I-I haven't been on a date in years.” He mused, attempting small talk with the young lady sitting opposite. "Do-do you do this often, Ms?"

Most woman would of waited for the whole gentleman-like seat procedure, but Erin didn't feel like letting the man try. Her assumptions were enough to completely sway her but then again being a lawyer she knew more investigation needed to be done before she could fully testify him as guilty.

"Thank you." She skimmed at her dress whilst talking. She couldn't deny it was a beautiful dress yet what was his intentions with such comments? A tad cautious you could say she was but she wouldn't fall for a man's tricks again. She'd been through them all too well and was as deep as anything in love with her ex-fiance when they had been together. Her trust, again, was not as it should be but she could not help herself. Little steps it was she supposed. "I quite like your sweater." She felt that was her baby step and she did after all like it, it made him look somewhat clever or studious for lack of a better description.

The Ms, had she not corrected him. A somewhat fake smile was worn to be polite as she responded. "Not at all. I don't have plenty of time with work and other things. In fact it's my first date in quite sometime too." Not years, but perhaps it had been what a year or so, nearly two. "You were married before? I mean as to why you haven't dated for that long." Rude, yeah. Breaking the rules of first dates, yeah but what other timing would she have to ask? This way it would seem she'd just be wondering why he hadn't dated for so long. Sometimes she loved the way she thought, this was evidently one of them even if she was awfully going to freak the guy out. Her lawyer side was just too predominant.

*sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO!

Cole was nervous of course. Talks with Rosa hadn't worked, it had helped him calm down and be more firm about his decision but still it made him nervous. Because rejection would kill him.

Gripping his girlfriend's hand and still being oh-so-quiet, the former ravenclaw lead her to the only place he could think of. It was unromantic in a lot of way and he shouldn't be doing it this way - but then being romantic actually scared the hell out of him. Because what if the answer is no?

Entering the little restaurant, he found them a corner table - one with a view. "I think this works, yeah?" he asked pulling put a chair for her.

She quite liked the sweater vest? Howard looked down at it and back at Erin. “Oh. Why, thank you.” His wife had always been fond of the way he dressed too. 'Vintage History Professor', she had called it. He smiled fondly at this memory.

Of course Howard being Howard didn't pick up on the subtleties of a fake smile. He was much too immersed in himself.. too nervous to look out at the world instead of in. A busy lifestyle? “What is it you do for a living--? And almost added a 'ms' on the end, but managed to stop himself, making his sentence sound clipped, unfinished, at the end. This caused him to fidget with his napkin.. even more-so at the question that followed.. his anxiety seeping out through large cracks. He realised he was fidgeting though, and sat on his hands to stop himself.

She hadn't been on a date either? Well.. that was.. strangely reassuring. The last thing Howard wanted was to be in the hands of a female predator this evening who just did this as a matter of cause. “Work too busy. K-keeping you on your toes?”

He nodded.. and gulped. Yes. He had been married. ..Still was as far as he was concerned.. and still had conversations with his wife when he was home alone. His sole voice and her imagined responses. Little off hand comments here and there as if she was listening.

“My wife passed away.” He explained and, for the first time all evening, didn't stutter. “I just haven't felt able to put myself out there.. s-so to speak.”
