He smiled as Claudette spoke of her new baby and was actually surprised, now that he thought about it, that shew as back from maternity leave already. "Congratulations again Claudette, I hope my gift I sent was alright." Him trying to buy any gift was a task he struggled with so he did hope the outfit did fit, he knew at times newborns were either smaller or larger than the actual newborn size, but he didn't want to get anything that didn't say the correct tags.
Hearing the words of his newest employee he couldn't help but laugh and then smile towards Kendall. "Soon you will see, gather some hot chocolate and enjoy the fresh air." He checked his watch and decided that if anyone else showed they could jump right in. "Alright everyone, I know we usually have our meeting indoors, but as I said before I did some training over break and I feel team building is something I have slacked in the last few years here as your department head. Now I don't think we need too much, because you all have been a great team to work with, but why not have a little fun." After last year with the eggs they could use some fun around here.
"So today is all about problem-solving and working together. The snow is covering the pitch, which makes it perfect for this. As a team, I'd like you to figure out how to use the snow in a creative way to build something other than a normal snowman. " So in terms of Marya they were not building a snowman, but they were going to build something in the snow. "I'd like you to try and use as much snow from the pitch as you possibly can. Your only rule to this is you have to work together."
Could they tell he was amused by this?

Perpetually late. PERPETUALLY LATE. And flustered. That was a perfect description for Harper, and the Geordie slipped and slid onto the pitch with red cheeks that had only a little to do with the cold air. "Sorry, sorry!" She called out, mainly to Erec, but offering a wave to the rest of her colleagues. Of course she'd completely forget and be sat at her desk wondering where the rest of the department was. Only her.
After a moment of catching her breath, basking in relief that she'd put warming charms on her clothes that morning, she managed to regain some composure and hastened closer to the group, just in time to hear Erec instruct the group.
OOOH. This sounded fun.

Team building exercises? It took everything within Dmitry not to groan at the idea. Team building exercises were the things of nightmares and they never ended well. Never. He knew he should have just stayed home with Ember and Alexei. A hyper toddler was nothing compared to this. Besides, if he was going to have to build a snowman he'd rather do it with his son than with his workmates. He didn't even know these people.
Wait.
Maybe that was why team building was necessary? When he'd first moved to England Dmitry had been all about meeting people and building relationships with others. Somewhere along the way he'd stopped talking to people though, just getting on with his work and then going home to his family, or associating with people he'd known from his days in Russia and France. Which, okay, were these days more than likely part of his extended family. Maybe he should get behind this?
"Sounds good Erec," he forced himself to say, although he couldn't force much enthusiasm. It really was too early for this. "Any time limits on this or can we take as long as we need?" Dmitry may not be thrilled about building an unconventional snowman but since it seemed they all had little choice he wanted to know how long they had to perfect the thing... Whatever they ended up going with.

Turning to Erec she beamed "The gift was more than all right. Lia looks so cute in the little outfit. It was the right fit too. Thank you so much Erec!" Claudette hadn't expected to get a newborn baby gift from her boss but it was nice that he showed that he cared about his co-workers private lives. She had had a few bosses that hadn't cared at all so it was good that Erec showed that he did to both the old and new employees.
Moving around a little on the spot to keep warm Claudette flashed smiles to Kendall and Harper as they joined the group that had now grown to 9 people out there on the snowy pitch. Then Erec finally took the blade from his mouth and told them why they really were out there. They were going to work together and make snow figures other than the normal snowman.
Claudette raised her hand and asked after Dimitri had asked his question that was just as important. There usually were time constraints for things like this. "Can we use any magic spells we want? Or do we need to this in the muggle way?" If they were then she'd have cold and wet hands pretty soon. Eyes flashing over her co-workers faces Claudette asked "Does anyone want to be snow creature building partners with me?"

Claudette received a smile from Rani when she joined them. Her vacation? Oh. "It was great. It's only during Christmas when my family gets together," she replied with a nod. Which was why Christmas already had a special place in her heart. What with her work for the Ministry and Aanand being the big bad boss man in their family business, any time sent with mum and dad were deeply treasured.
But apparently, the topic on each of their holidays was the one to talk about today. The woman faced her department head and smiled too. "Spent the holidays with my parents and travelled a little," Rani offered. Perhaps it was just the same usual routine for her every year, no doubt.
And now, they were supposed to do something with snow... other than creating a snowman. Interesting. This wasn't exactly the activity Rani would have imagined in a team-building session, but it did seem quite fun and out of the ordinary. With or without the use of magic, the woman had already made a few snowmen herself when she was young. "I'll work with you, Claudette," Rani said. "And maybe anyone else too?" The raven-haired woman liked to believe that the more, the merrier.

They all seemed to be okay with this and some seemed to be actually enjoying it. Erec smiled to himself feeling like this was going to be a success. [b] "The only time limit we have is the weather, if we get too cold and need to stop. The rest is up to us. I want this to be a good communication lesson, but at the same time fun. He watched them as they started to gather and form groups and decide what to start with. Two were going to do creatures, that was interesting.
"You can use as little or as much magic as you want, but please at least try to use your hands a bit, not just your wands the entire time." They were wizards and witches so of course they could do this with magic and make it go quicker, but wouldn't it be more fun to play in the snow a bit. He had taken a drink of his hot chocolate as he watched a little longer, but really Erec was ready to jump in and just be part of the team.
"Anyone want to try out a snow building with me?"
