Theo had never been this nervous when it came to Quidditch. His body language was not showing off some confident, future athlete. More like a timid pussycat that was totally out of his comfort zone. Still, at least he had friends here to support him... even though they were technically his competition, too... fabulous.
Wait, was he late? Theo rushed to join the others on the pitch and he freaked out a bit as he saw West already up in the air. GAH, they were gonna kick him out before even starting! "Hello... erm..." He approached the adults and scratched the back of his head. Let's just get the ball rolling, huh? "I'm Theodore Kinsley. Sorry, if I'm late... can I just..." Oh, West already had the quaffle. Well, in that case.. "I'll just..." He gestured to the sky and stuff. Yeah. Theodore hopped onto his broomstick and did the quickest exit off the ground ever.
He felt better once he was in the air.
After getting himself settled in the sky, Theo gave West a look. Like... they were gonna get up to their old terrortwins tricks, right? He had MISSED that. And he was READY to get back to where they had left off.
SO... Who was their keeper today, HUH? WANNA PIECE OF HIM? Huh? HUH? Come get it!

Nephews. Terribly annoying ones, at that, although Cooper had hopes that they'd grown out of being complete prats and were now graduated to being just a little bothersome. It would be a coup to bring family on board at the Wasps. Not only did Cooper need exciting new players, but he could probably pay them a pittance out of family fidelity.
They were about to begin, however, and Cooper nodded stiffly at the Ministry employees before offering an arm to Rebecca. He'd escort her to the stands and have at least passable company. The man from the arrows was there, father to one of his star Beaters, and Cooper gave him a polite nod too. "Of course I trust my employees, but I certainly have an interest in my own team." It wasn't like he had a country to run. Anymore.
Mo dropped his Cloudracer and stepped over the handle as it buoyed up toward him, leaning forward into motion while he was still settling onto the saddle. Theo was here, which meant they could properly start, and Mo gave his former teammate a passing clap to the shoulder before he headed out on an easy lap of the pitch. It was good to be airborne, especially after a term stuck mostly on the ground and indoors. And very very cold.
"We're not going to get anywhere if we're all fighting over the quaffle the whole time," Mo mused as he fell in beside West. Fighting over the quaffle didn't really showcase why these particular chasers were worth contracting. Or at least, that was Mo's opinion. "Let's run a few plays, take turns taking the lead so everyone gets a chance to shine." Maybe he just wanted all three of them to get offers today.

Well, wasn't this cute.
Colin MacKenzie was here on a mission. First and foremost, he needed to make some adjustments with his team. Especially when it came to getting rid of the two bimbos he had for beaters. But then he was here to scout out the newbies on his own accord. Someone was bound to pick the hopefuls up if they didn't meet his own standards, which meant that he needed to watch them as they'd soon be enemies. Hopefully he could still recruit some new Magpies. Life would just be easier that way.
He did not say a single word to the other team coaches or managers when he arrived at the mediocre pitch. Probably best to keep his distance from them. It wouldn't be good for publicity if he got into a fist fight with one of them again. Colin did, however, give the Games and Sports Head a nod before finding somewhere to sit and watch.
First were the chasers? Typical. The Magpies didn't need any of those considering he still had Carmichael, Chosen, and the Biter. The coach's eyes were on Mr. Odessa, though. He remembered the kid.
Mariel kept watch on the approaching figures as they grew larger from the distance, glancing to her side only as she heard the voice addressing her. Better place? "It's comparable to the pitch at their school," she told Rebecca, keeping the same faint smile on her face. "All the better to see the actual raw talent these players may or may not possess without it getting lost behind the flash of a large stadium." Did she really have to tell a team manager that? Perhaps she needed to offer her more tips on how to do her job. "Victoria does a fine job managing the Quidditch division," she added, looking back at the nearing people, smiling sweetly at the first person she recognized. "You seem to be the only one to have an issue with her," she added without looking back at Rebecca before she greeted the newly appointed Kestrals manager. And that was what made it seem like a personal issue rather than professional.
"Kieran.. I heard that you were retiring. Congratulations on your new endeavor.. and nice to see you again." She had been fairly well acquainted with him, having been one of her favorite players a time ago and working in regulations before her promotion. The brunette would admit that she was rather disappointed that he could not attend their event from a few months ago, but it still had been a nice turn out.
And more people were arriving. Mariel pulled her green eyes away from Kieran as the Tornados Keeper greeted her. "Bonjour," she replied to Beck in kind. "Thank you for coming today." Really, she did appreciate the couple of pros that were coming out to help them, even if it was based on contractual clauses. She made note of Branxton as he arrived.. and.. there was Kinsley. Good. All ready to start. She gave a nod to the man with the Arrows, she'd presume from his outfit, though she wasn't sure they had met. Even in regulations, she had more interaction with the players and the managers.. she was fairly certain he was a scout. And introductions could wait as they were starting. She did catch sight of Colin MacKenzie, however.. and of course, the Keeper turned coach needed no introduction for her. She even had the privilege of playing against him once. "Hello, Colin," she said with a friendly smile as he greeted her with a nod. As he sat down, her eyes soon settled on another approaching man. Was that Brennan Cooper? Huh. She didn't realize he was making an appearance today.
Dark eyes fell on the lovely blonde Catapults manager and he chuckled. "Oh I've been around the block a few times as far as Quidditch is concerned," he told her with a grin. "I'm sure I won't have any trouble spotting talent when I see it." Not when he was a chaser for as many years as he was. He knew exactly what to look for and he couldn't be more pleased that the chasers were starting first. Not that anyone could really replace him, but he'd see if any of these kids was worthy of his old position.
"Mariel.. always a pleasure to see you," he smiled at the Department Head. Of course, he hadn't seen as much of her since she wasn't in regulations anymore and his team seemed to get more fines now that she had left that position, though maybe that was his imagination. He'd have to keep an eye on things now that he was manager so maybe that warranted a conversation. Later though. "Thank you, I'm rather looking forward to my new position. And congratulations on yours." He hadn't yet told her that, had he? Anyway..
He glanced down at the names as the boys arrived, squinting a bit at them out on the pitch to try to keep who was who straight in his mind. Odessa.. Branxton.. Kinsley.. got it. Oh and there was Salvatore. Interesting.. he was rather looking forward to what these kids could do. Kieran leaned back a bit, getting ready to watch, making note of who else was here. He gave a nod to the Appleby guy.. really he needed to get to know these team affiliates now. And then he raised an eyebrow as MacKenzie wordlessly took a seat. Sure, it had been yeeaarrss since he had faced the man with a quaffle, but he didn't often forget, especially those who stayed in the business. Smirking a bit, he gave him an acknowledging nod then turned his eyes back to the pitch. Brennan Cooper was making an appearance as well? That was also pretty interesting.

Adelaide had been a ball of nerves for days. Her mum was actually getting worried because the girl had pretty much stopped baking. Yep. She was that anxious. But she was ready to do this. Ready to get out there and show everyone what she could do.
Addi walked onto the pitch, bat and broom in hand a little early. She wanted to watch the chasers tryout too. She knew West, Theo, and Mo were for sure and why not watch people she'd played with and see how they were doing. Besides, she might be protecting some of them from some nasty bludgers some day.
She made her way over to the group of people that gathered, watching as Mo pushed off to join Theo and West in the air. Man. She still couldn't believe they'd graduated already. She smiled at all the adults. Now which ones were the scouts and which ones were running this thing?
Right. Talking would probably help some in this situation. "Hello. I'm Adelaide Adams. I'm here for the beater tryouts, but I realize I'm probably quite early." Right. Formal and polite.
Good. Beck heard a voice of a woman that he had never heard before. She must be the new department head. He had heard that there was a new department head in the games and sports department.A new department head was needed every once in a blue moon. New heads would bring in some very interesting ideas that would help benefit any department. Beck sometimes wished that some department heads had a time limit to how long they could be in charge of a department. She knew some French or just how to say hello in French. It wasn't that hard to figure out. "I'm Beck Salvatore." Beck stuck out his hand for her to shake. He figured that she already knew what his position was. "It's an honor to be here." Out of every keeper that they could have chosen and they chose him. He was very honored. He just hoped he wouldn't screw up.

Glancing at another person coming up she recognized him and adjusted her clipboard to one arm. “Mr. Salvatore very nice to see you. Thank you so much for coming and helping out today. I’m Victoria Maroon. If you’d like some time to warm up all our chasers are not here yet.” She figured she didn’t have to really show him the pitch since they were on it.
The Keeper gave the woman a nod. Beck was so relieved that he had remembered the woman's name correctly. He had met a lot of people that day and he didn't want to be rude and not say her name now. "It's really an honor to even be thought of to come and help out with these tryouts today." Though he thought it was pretty rude not to greet her as Victoria. But then again there were other people here and it would be rude to forget or ignore saying hello to them. "It's a pleasure to see you again Ms. Maroon." Beck smiled some. "That meet and greet event was awesome. I suggest that you do that again but only if you lot see it fit." Beck wanted it to be known that he thought the meet and greet was awesome. It really was loads of fun. "Ah, yes. Thank you ma'am. I'll go do that right now." At first the idea seemed pretty boring but once he was there he was so happy to be able to talk to the fans though he didn't know that he had any fans really.
After his little chat with Victoria Maroon, Beck knew that it would be a wise choice to go out on the field and do some laps with his broom. These days Quidditch was his life along with his son but even now his son was getting older and not really needing as much attention as he used to need and right now Jacques was having some grandmother time that he really wanted. Him and his son had already had a really good summer with traveling to Italy and Japan already. Beck was thinking of squeezing in some other countries before his schedule got any busier. Right now eh had to focus on Quidditch and the tryouts. He had to put his personal life right behind him for the time being, if he didn't he would screw up and he was a professional Quidditch player that was expected not to screw up at all.
Beck kicked off the ground and smoothly into the air. These were the days that he felt so blessed to even be on a professional team. He wondered how many chasers were trying out today. Maybe one of the players would end up on the Tornados. That would be pretty awesome. Now that one lap around the pitch was done he figured that he would keep going until he was told that the rest of the chasers had arrived. There was nothing wrong with doing more laps than needed.

So they were starting, good, it was going well she thought. So far at least. Ugh, why did these things make her so nervous? She could run the department if needed, she was confident of that and even did when Mariel was out of town, but speaking in front of people was just another world. You would think one would get use to speaking with many strangers when one had to speak to many about what her son may or may not have done over the years.
Her brown eyes watched as the boys started to practice and even gave the later one a smile. “Mr. Kinsley no need to apologize you aren’t late. Just go ahead.” Though he didn’t wait for her to answer anyway which was good. Now was she to sit or just stay standing. Hmmm she’d just stay with her clipboard making sure everything went alright.
Before Beck went up she glanced back at him, “I’m so glad you enjoyed it. It was a huge success. One I’d like to do yearly if possible.” She was hoping they could do more meet and greets at least. Putting her wand to her throat so the boys could hear once Beck was in the air, “ALRIGHT WARM UP IS NOW OVER IF YOU COULD PLEASE GET STARTED.”

Victoria turned her eyes has she heard a female voice. “Hello, Victoria Maroon. Quidditch Division Manager. Thank you for coming today Miss Adams. The chasers are just getting started if you would like to take a seat to watch you are more than welcome.” She let her warm up, but with the boys on the pitch it was kind of hard at the moment.
Rebecca’s eyes moved in her seat as she saw more people coming. She knew quidditch and she knew the people. You couldn’t get anywhere in life without knowing which people to get to know better and which to not even give another look. Victoria Maroon and Mariel whatever were the types that you just looked past. They had nothing that she could use to move up in the world, so she didn’t have time for them.
Seeing Lockhart she gave a nod, “Hello Mr. Lockhart.” She could play nice to most of the other mangers, coaches, and of course owners. Her eyes were on the owner coming towards her. Now this was a man of money and power. Both of which Rebecca enjoyed. “I wasn’t really liking my seat here anyway.” She gave a snide look towards Mariel before getting up and linking her arm into his. “You are a man of good taste picking me to sit next to you. Maybe I’ll even give you some help with picking some of those players.” She was certain they weren’t going to be from these tryouts, but she was going to get to rub elbows with an important man, the day was looking up.
Before she left Mariel she just gave a bored laugh, “They need to know what they are going to be playing under. If they are over whelmed at a tryout on a professional pitch then they have no business being in the sport at all.” What a lame excuse why she used such a beneath her place. She glanced around, “It is fitting for you though, so it works.” Pro gone department head, pathetic really. It just proved to Rebecca the woman had no talent and had to go to the ministry to hide. “I’m the only one with a brain obviously.” Turning she headed to where Cooper was leading them. Seeing Colin come into the stadium the blonde gave another nod, “Colin, thinking to trade some of your chasers?” She’d love to get her claws into a few of their contracts. He had that one that her step son was always going on about. She was surprisingly good, which was a shock that her step son could find someone with actual talent.

Terrortwins tricks? Yeah they were. West was pretty sure if either him or Theo went blind, as long as they had each other to fly with, they'd be okay after flying together for seven years already. And when you tossed a Mo into the mix... West casually spun the Quaffle on one knuckle and nodded at Mo's words, glancing over at Salvatore. Hey, if the guy was too slow to get in the scoring zone then that was on him. Whatever. They WERE supposed to start.
"We shine best together anyways." West agreed, "Lets start with some quickswitch dropbacks. Lets go." he flew ahead to take point, expecting the other two to tuck in behind him. After a bit he popped the Quaffle up and peeled back so that one of the pair of them would slide in and catch it, taking point. It almost appeared a bit like juggling, if you viewed the three of them as the balls and the Quaffle as the hand, at least until they got into the scoring zone, then whoever had the Quaffle would get tricksy.

Quickswitch dropbacks? Mo nodded once before falling back, letting West take point (y'know, what with him having the Quaffle and all) and trusting that Theo would recognize the formation and fall in as well. Were they going to shoot against the absent goalie? Beck Salvatore was a professional Keeper... it was a world of difference to shoot at unguarded hoops rather than at a real honest-to-goodness Keeper.
When West dropped the Quaffle, Mo slid into his spot, scooping it out of the air and pressing forward toward the goal. It was actually a really nice pitch, considering they didn't have to keep it maintained for league play, and the three hoops were glinting in the sunlight. After only a few moments with the Quaffle, Mo dropped it for West or Theo to pick up, and he swung back to follow again.
Cooper actually could stand to pick up a Chaser, but he wasn't thrilled with this game play. How was he supposed to mentally match them against each other when they were sharing the field like that? It was like they didn't want to be recruited or something. The Wasps owner leaned forward, ignoring the prattling woman beside him as he scrutinized the players on the field.
"Are you looking for a Chaser today, Ms. Maroon, or are you hoping to poach that Keeper out there?"
After Beck did his few laps for a nice warm up he went over to guard the hoops. He liked to think that he was a decent Quidditch player but maybe he was just being hard on himself because he wanted to try to be the best he could be for the Tornados. Beck knew that he wasn't going to go easy on these kids. He was going to make it hard for them to make a goal. Being a pro wasn't easy so why make it easy for these potential players if they think this is all just something simple. Being a pro athlete in any sport muggle or wizarding wasn't suppose to be easy. As an athlete you have to push yourself and of course not to quite.
Beck gave Victoria a nod when she said that they could start. Beck kept his eye on these chasers. So far he saw one of the chasers were signaling for a formation. Not bad for some kids though. Maybe they would make a goal after all or maybe not. Beck really respected all Quidditch players, young and old alike. Just because there's an older player on a professional team didn't mean he was slow but they sure were wiser and knew the game better.
Now he was just waiting for someone to shoot. Who had the guts to take the first shot against him?

Polite nod noted. And a greeting went to Rebecca in return. His focus was really more on the players, one of which almost got late to tryouts, well, Jack Lockhart took notice on that. But what truly got his attention was how they all appeared to be rather friendly toward one another.
Surely, all the years at Hogwarts did that to you, but this is rarely seen at tryouts.
Of any kind.
Rarely.
It was a shame Hogwarts had to suspend Quidditch, he'd much rather spot talent there. At least the crowd made it all better. Right now, all he could do was see how good their aim was. Not that he hadn't seen it before, he's been to a few U17 practices, after all. That's why Branxton sounded familiar.

Finally, the keeper-person had caught up and was hovering by the goals. Good. Theo ducked below Mo and swerved to a stop in the air once he had caught the quaffle, just to get a good look at the keeper and survey possible ideas about what techniques he would have. He wasn't giving off as much as Theo was hoping, so he just went with it. Straight for the goals.
With the quaffle tucked under his arm, he plunged forwards. No zig-zag or swirly-wirly movements, just in a smooth, straight line. Once he was a good distance from the goal posts, he raised the quaffle into the air and FAKE threw it, changing its direction in the last minute from directly at the hoops, to his left.
Just had to hope someone was there to catch it, and stuff. Preferably not the keeper, of course. He was TRYING to confuse the guy, after all.

And West was right there of course, he snatched it and immediately snapped the Quaffle hard at the goal, not intending to give Salvatore any particular chance to react. Probably the guy wouldn't have expected the teamwork from the three of them, it wasn't exactly the usual thing you saw in a tryout like this.

Victoria watched with excitement as the chasers started their tryout. It seemed like they were going at a slow start, but she liked watching them maneuver around and it seemed they were getting ready to show off their moves. Checking a few things off her list, she turned and moved towards the managers, coaches, and owners. “Everyone has their agenda’s for the day so you know the names?” Not that she didn’t think they would, but if they didn’t she could easily duplicate hers.
Turning her attention back to the players it looked like they were going to try their skills on Beck soon. She hoped he was ready. “Once they are done feel free to speak with them. They Quidditch drafting will start a week from today so no offers will be happening today, just away to figure out what you want.” Were they clear Becky? She eyed the blonde knowing damn well she never played by the rules.
Looking at her watch she hurried towards the pitch and placed her wand to her throat. “WE ARE ABOUT TO FINISH UP ON THE CHASER TRYOUT. PLEASE DO YOUR LAST FEW PLAYS AND THEN LAND SAFELY ON THE PITCH. “ Once she was done with that, Vic started to move a few things to get ready for the beaters.
Looking towards them she smiled, “Alright, I’m Victoria Maroon and today you are trying out as beaters. Please get your bats ready, if you didn’t bring any I have a few over there. You will be of course dodging the bludgers and trying to hit them into the moving targets that will be charmed on the field.” Looking up to notice the Chasers finished, she let the targets raise and set the bludgers loose. “Good Luck, you may begin.”
Rebecca was bored by these chasers already. She saw that they had talent, but just flying wasn’t going to get them on the catapults team. No she was hoping for some great things, but she had known before she walked through the door it wouldn’t be here.
Looking to Cooper she gave him a winning smile, “I’m always looking to better my team Cooper. You can’t be the best at what you do without looking all the time for new and better talent. Maybe you need a new and improve right hand woman on your side, so you don’t have to waste your day sitting in run down bleachers.” She might be that person for a nice pay raise, or more. Glancing back up she watched with little interesting. Though a few moves did catch her eye. Did she read somewhere that the one was still in some sort of contract? She loved taking people from their contracts. That could make things a little fun for her.
Hearing that horrid voice Rebecca turned her eyes on Victoria. “I think we know what we are doing. You just go do your job.” Though she wasn’t sure if Vicotria could do a decent job. Adjusting in her seat she watched as the beaters were to go on. This might be her chance to chat with one of the chasers. Newbies didn’t cost as much to bring on, so it might be beneficial to keep her options open.
Alright guys, we are going to over lap a little to keep with the timeline. So Chasers go ahead and play a bit more, but start wrapping it up in the next 48 hours. Feel free to have your charries mingle with the managers/owners/coaches that are there.
Beaters you are up, go ahead and get started. It is target practice so just RP your charrie hitting, missing the targets, and possibly being hit by a bludger coming back if you want. Just have fun!
Adelaide smiled at the woman. "Thank you Ms. Maroon." With that she walked over to the bench, resting her broom and her bat on the ground. She looked up to the sky to see West, Theo, and Mo flying around passing the quaffle between the three of them.
They looked fantastic. But they were also shooting against a professional keeper, but Salvatore had nothing on the Terror Twins and Mo. The teamwork between the three of them had to be a bit shocking for the scouts. That wasn't usually something you did when you were trying to win a spot over someone else. At least that's what Adelaide thought.

Just have fun!
...and they were done already wow. Addi smiled at the boys as they came back down to the pitch. Following Ms. Maroon's instructions she picked up her bat and mounted her broom, pushing off the ground.
She smiled big and zoomed off after one of the bludgers as soon as she was up. This was what her and West had been practicing for. She was going to do this. And she was going to succeed...even if her stomach and her nerves were a bit on edge right now.
Addi zoomed past the bludger and pulled her arm back and THWACK! sent it cascading towards the targets. She watched as it managed to hit one. Not bad for the first try. Then she felt another bludger whizzing right past her batting arm. Good thing it missed. She leaned down on her broom and zoomed off after that one.
Benjy held his broom over his right shoulder and his beater's bat in his left hand as he strode purposely on to the pitch. Sounded like he was right on time, as a loud voice declared the chasers' session drawing to a close. He headed in the direction from whence it came, his gaze scanning along who he figured must the selectors here to see him play. He didn't recognise them, but then, why should he? It wasn't like he'd had the opportunity to play in the national junior team or on the reserves like some of the others had. Benjamin had barely been playing at all, in an absolute sense - only his fifth and sixth year at Hogwarts - and had played as a beater for only half that. But, despite his lack of playing opportunities, he figured he'd done pretty good for himself, and armed with some of Kalla's tips from playing with the Bats Reserves, he was feeling pretty confident.
Being in a place of nothing to lose could do that. He didn't need the smugness or swagger of Odessa to shine today. He was just thrilled to be flying again, after the last year at Hogwarts. A contract? ...well, that would just be the icing on a very large cake.
"Benjamin Barton," he introduced as he reached Victoria, adjusting and tucking his bat under his arm so he could hold out his hand politely to shake. "Thanks for organising today." Though he was a little disappointed to find that they were only going to be hitting targets, and not playing a proper game. But flying was flying, and he was more than ready to go after some bludgers up there. He could hear the faint 'eeeee!' of them already, and a grin spread across his face. Merlin, how he loved the slightly nervous feeling he got before kicking off the ground, and the adrenaline that rushed through him afterwards.
He pulled his hoody off, throwing it casually on to a bench in the dugout nearby, and had a squirt of drink from his bottle. A small adjustment of his wrist guards, and Benjy was ready for action. He gave a grin and a friendly nod to the selectors, before running to the middle of the pitch, and taking to his broom in one smooth move. Just a little trick he'd adapted from his skateboarding background, that's all.
Adelaide watched as the other beater flew up to join her. She remembered him from a match against Ravenclaw...but couldn't remember his name. Oh well. They were the only two up here and she was going to make sure she looked amazing. Heck, she was going to make sure she was hitting more targets than he was. Addi liked a little competition, but at least she would never try and hit him with a bludger. That was something she saved for matches. Open tryouts didn't seem like an appropriate time to do something like that.
But back to the pitch and the bludgers. Addi had her eyes on a bludger that was zooming back at her. She narrowed her eyes and maneuvered herself so that she would be able to pull her arm back and get a strong enough swing. THWACK! Her bat made contact with a bludger and she watched as it soared passed a target, barely missing it. She bit her lip and went on the pursuit again.
Beck kept a very close eye on the quaffle. There was no way that it was going through one of his hoops but he couldn't deny that they team work from these three boys was amazing. Any team would be lucky enough to have them all together or apart. Beck was ready for this quaffle. There was no way that it was going to get through any of the hoops because his job wasn't easy so why make their tryouts easy. With one smooth turn of his broom and the outstretch of his hand he caught the quaffle. Nice try though. Beck looked towards the ground and heard Ms. Maroon speak about doing one more go at it. Beck tossed the quaffle back out to the chasers.

It didn't surprise Mo that West's quaffle was caught. Well, it did surprise him, honestly, because West was fast and had the best poker face of anyone Mo'd ever played against. Even knowing him for years and year, Mo would choose the wrong hoop 8 out of 10 times when keeping against his mate. But he wasn't really surprised, because the first shot never went in. It was science.
The next one would, though, or so Mo hoped... it was nearly time for their tryout to end, and they'd only made a few runs at the goal. Had he done anything impressive at all? If any of these coaches or owners or managers were looking for a chaser... were they looking at him?
Mo dropped down to snag the discarded Quaffle, and then he sailed up the pitch with it. By himself. "Midfield alley oop," he called over his shoulder, trusting again that West and Theo would know to get themselves into position near a hoop. The moment he hit midfield, Mo spun his broom, using the momentum of the turn to fling the Quaffle back down toward the hoops. And his waiting 'teammates'.

That was weird. How had Salvatore caught that? Didn't make any sense. Had he even been looking at Theo? Or him? Fluke. Definite fluke. West shook it off though, as determined as ever and not willing to let it shake him. And he reacted to Mo of course, they'd done this play a million times together, with Theo coming up the other side. He snapped into place, using his own momentum to bring him into place to punch the Quaffle allowing it to ricochet directly through the furthest hoop. Yesss! Score! He flew over and gave Mo a high five. He could always get it far, Mo had a long throwing arm on him.
West flew down to scoop up the Quaffle to put it back in play, and lobbed it over to Theo. A bit of terrortwin action then? Was he ready? West would follow his lead and back him up entirely.

Now that the chasers and keeper were up in the air, Mariel kept her eyes on the action rather than what was going on in the seats, hardly noticing that Rebecca was getting up to move. Missing the snide look, she only glanced her way when she heard her speak, soon realizing she was addressing her. Green eyes snapped to the woman as she linked arms with.. Brennan Cooper? That was interesting and her raised eyebrow conveyed that thought. But she'd bite her tongue to remain professional.
Her unimpressed look did remain as she replied to the woman. "You do know that if you had scouted them at their school that you'd be watching them play on a comparable pitch? Or else you could have sought them out yourself.. If you want to see what they can do at a professional stadium, that's up to your invitation." Of course there was no Thank you for having your department organize this and make it convenient to see all the potential players together, Mariel.. nope, just ingratitude. She supposed she should expect nothing less. Whatever, she had no time to waste on such insolence. "It actually does suit me just fine," she added as Rebecca started to walk away, succeeding in keeping the annoyance from her voice. "Well-maintained, on neutral ground, and sufficiently showcases raw talent." She knew it had been a crack about her not playing pro anymore, but the woman was just plain stupid if she didn't realize the power she now had, even over her. Besides, where did she think she'd have this.. on her pitch? Never happening.
Thankfully she was seated next to pleasant people and she gave Kieran a smile again before turning her eyes back to the pitch. She didn't have quite the vested interest that some of them here did, but she was interested in the outcome. And these chasers were actually pretty good. The teamwork that they displayed was a bit curious but somewhat impressive as well. Not that her opinion mattered at all to the team affiliates. But there was a good mix of shots blocked as well as shots through which was about in line with what she expected. Mariel jotted a few notes by the players names, curious to see what, if any, offers they might attain.
And then it was time for the beaters. Mariel glanced at her watch, before looking up to see the young man trying out - Barton, she noted his name, having seen Miss Adams arrive shortly before. Green eyes turned upwards again as the two beater prospects took flight, she smiled softly as Adams hit her first bludger. Seemed the girl had a bit of power behind that arm.
In a different setting perhaps he'd be more eager for small talk, but Kieran was far more interested in what was happening on the pitch to indulge anyone in the seats. Quidditch was what he lived for, for most of his life, and finding a chaser to replace his vacant position was what was most important to him at this very moment.
Dark eyes followed the action on the pitch, focusing more on the chasers rather than the keeper. It was clear that these kids certainly had talent.. but were any of them cut out to be a Kestral? He was mildly impressed with some of the techniques they were displaying, though also a little disappointed that there weren't more that they could play against rather than just together. Though teamwork was very important as well. If he had to choose just one, it was a bit hard for him to distinguish between the three.. they were fairly comparable for him in terms of skill, though one seemed just slightly more aggressive. Not necessarily a good or bad thing, just distinguishing.
Oh. Was time up for the chasers already? And how was he supposed to make a determination in that amount of time. Kieran really didn't think there had been enough to see or enough time to really decide what he needed. He furtively glanced at the other team representatives. Maybe it was just because he was new at this side of the game, but he wondered what they thought as well. Well, he'd go speak with the boys, maybe extend an invitation to see if they wanted a go on his pitch with some of his players to get a better idea. He started to make his way down towards the pitch as they finished up. He wasn't quite as interested in the other positions today, though he'd keep an eye on them as well just in case.

How did that first attempt possibly get caught after all that technique and stuff? Bizarre. Ah well, things like that happened sometimes, and Theo wasn't banking on it happening again. He fistbumped the air when West scored the next time around, and quickly swerved into a position to catch the quaffle when it was thrown his way.
The ball was wedged under his arm as he sailed through the air. He did a few loop-de-loops around the goal posts, mostly to make the keeper work harder, but also to figure out which one he wanted to go for.
Once he had decided on the hoop he wanted, Theo whirled above the top of them and then dropped the quaffle for West (or Mo) who were both nearby as always. As soon as he dropped it, Theo didn't even watch to see its destination, and sped downwards to get into a shooting position. He sure hoped neither of them would steal his thunder and shoot for him.

Mo slapped West's hand with only a little celebration. It was brilliant that West had scored, and Mo was pleased as anything that he'd been able to assist. But... it wasn't over yet by a long shot, and they were running out of time. He wanted a chance to get one past Salvatore, and Theo deserved a chance too.
While West took the lead, Mo dropped into position, ready to grab the Quaffle as it was passed on to Theo, who left it behind in an amazing feint. So it was Mo's now, and he debated making a run for the goal or passing it again. His ego wanted him to runrunRUN, but Mo's instincts were honed enough to let him ignore that voice. He tossed the Quaffle, knowing West was in the air above him, and Mo dove for the far hoop, opposite Theo. Now West had options, depending on what Salvatore did.

West got the Quaffle with fingertips and swerved back around. It was a good thing he wasn't a glory hog, right? He sure wasn't dumb enough to take the risk of trying to score from where he currently was, and while he would usually have busted the Quaffle into Theo's waiting hands he wanted to go for the more unexpected approach so in the split second between snagging it with his fingertips and getting a good grip on it, he decided and used his momentum to send the Quaffle sailing after Mo, though his eyes remained on Theodore, as did his broom's apparent angle of intent. Enough of a feint to buy Mo a moment maybe? They'd soon see.

Victoria watched the chasers finishing up, they were very good. Her son had mentioned that though so she wasn't surprised. What she was surprised with was that he hadn't found a way to break out of the house with his grandparents watched to show up here. Her brown eyes darted around the stadium to make sure he wasn't hiding anywhere.
Nope not here.
Eyes back to the pitch as the chasers ended and the beaters got on their brooms, "Please watch out for any out of control bludgers." She warned as a safety precaution. She knew they all knew quidditch and knew to look out for them, but her mother instincts on top of it was her job to be aware and make all around aware of any safety issues while running the tryouts.
They seemed very good. Impressive, now where had she heard the name Adams before? Was that the girl who baked for Bart that he spoke so highly about? She thought about this as she continued to watch.
Rebecca was growing bored to the point that she thought about getting up. Clapping for Beck as he saved a few shots. Yes, she was cheering on the already Pro Keeper, why would she be giving encouragement to the other three, they needed to work for their spots and Beck might be a good trade if she could get him.
Watching as the one.. West she thought, looking down at her notes, score she just wrote instead of applauding. Her eyes up in the sky as the other two just seemed to be his puppets. Once the one boy (mo) took the Quaffle she couldn't believe he just handed it off. How did he expect a contract doing things like that. She wanted to see energy and risk taking. She certainly didn't mind the glory hogs as long as they won and got her noticed as a sharp success manager.
Once the chasers were down, she thought about going to speak with them, but that would mean leaving the side of Cooper, which she wasn't planning on doing either. Maybe they'd come to her or maybe she'd get up once they were fully near her. She had time to decide, for now she'd watch the beaters.
