Seriously her daughters were smarter than him and they were just past being babies.
"Oh, Connie. I couldn't be as petty as you if I tried. You are a hypocrite who judged me from the very moment that we met." Yes, she had seen that from the look in his eyes.
Darn!
He was having so much fun. Con grinned. "You give me so many compliments that I almost regret giving you attitude. My personality is quite nice, thank you so much for caring. And yes. I do know grammar. A lot better than you do at least, I'm sure.'' He was very much unconcerned of what Gabby thought of him.
"Actually, I misjudged you, Gabby. Would you be happy in knowing that?'' Was she? Because Con wasn't about to sugarcoat anything for her. "Now that I think of it, I wouldn't think of it as 'judging'. It's more like 'observing'. You see, I recognise persons like you who think you're superior to others when you're actually not. Gabby was beyond done with this. She had left done in the rear-view window. There weren't enough words to describe how much she loathed the man in front of her and all the nonsense that he was spewing; it had gotten to the point that she was too angry to even speak to him - and that was saying A LOT because she always had something to say to idiots. Well, Connor had broken her.
After a few minutes she was able to collect her thoughts. "Never speak to me again. I absolutely despise you and all the nonsense that comes out of your idiotic mouth. You are below me and a waste of my time." With that, she stormed out of the bakery forgetting why she had even came in the first place.

Connor grinned.
Broadly too.
"I'll try not to cry about it,'' he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "By the way, it takes one to know one.'' He called this last bit at her retreating back. She was just like him. Or like he was. At least he had matured and stop being a stuck up, rude boy. Anyway, he wasn't letting Gabby ruin his day. He had to head back to work. There was stuff to be done and not to mention a pregnant wife to dote on.
Whistling to himself, he set off for the Ministry again.

This had been a busy few days. He had found five different account of immigration issues and tracking down people was the hardest part. Why was it so hard to just make sure things were updated? He would never understand that. Himself included was not a full citizen of the country, but knew how to keep his things up to date. In need of a break, Warner headed down the street and over to the cafe. He figured there he probably could get a few moments of quiet to read the sports section.
Going up to the counter he looked at the menu and ordered a coffee and a sanwich. How was a nice day ruined by work? He'd never understand that. It wasn't that he didn't like his job, but he would enjoy to be out camping or just outside in general. Finding a seat near the window he set his things on the table and opened up the paper. Where there any good events going on? He wondered what the Gobstones scores were for the games last night.

Oliver was rather preoccupied. He had been worried over the situation at Hogwarts, even though his son Levi reassured him by writing regularly and telling him everything was fine. The newly turned fourteen year old was probably making light of the situation to his old dad though, because as he was in the department in the Ministry that was working closely with it, he knew that it was serious. Still, he had never heard any talks of shutting the school down or pulling children out of school, so he figured the school knew what they were doing to keep their students safe.
But Levi would be coming home in a few days so he could hopefully put some of those worries to rest for at least a little while. He did hear that the portal situation had been resolved for the time being, but working at Mysteries, he wanted to know what caused it and what would keep it from happening again. They were doing plenty of tests with the samples they were given, but it wasn't quite enough. Not to satisfy him at least.
As he got himself a sandwich and hot tea, Oliver was completely lost in thoughts of the portal and his son's birthday and how much time he'd actually get to spend with him over summer because of his ex-wife. So much so, that he wasn't really looking where he was going when he caught his foot on a loose tile right in front of this man's table. He quickly tried to regain his balance but it wasn't before he spilled his tea all over the man's table, splashing it on himself too.
"Oh! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry.." Really, what else did someone say? But maybe there were some napkins around to clean things up.

As he flipped the page of the paper he reached for his coffee and saw just too late the accident that was about to happen. He pushed his chair back, but not in time for his nice white shirt to be the target of the tea that had been splashed all over. He looked down at the spots now forming all over. Well, this was just the icing on his already rough week.
The man was apologizing and apologizing and Warner just stared for a moment. He went to pull his wand and remembered where he was. Now the biggest sigh was released knowing he was going to have to wait to clean his shirt. Sometimes being around muggles was a pain. "It's fine don't worry about. Are you alright?" What did the man even fall on? He glanced seeing the tile, "They really should get that fixed before someone truly gets hurt."
Grabbing some napkins he started to clean up the table and his newspaper.

Oliver could not even believe he was that clumsy. Not only had he gotten tea on himself, but all over a stranger's table and.. oh, the guy's clothes, too? Great. He felt really bad but what more could he do than grab some napkins too and try to help clean up. It wasn't as if he could magically clean it up here in a Muggle establishment. For all he knew, this guy was probably a Muggle himself.
At least the guy was nice about it though. Some could really be a jerk about something like that, even if it was just an accident.
"Yeah.. yeah, I'm fine. Sorry about that. I really have a lot of things on my mind and didn't even notice the tile." He grabbed another clean napkin and started dabbing at the tea spots on the front of his shirt. Oliver wasn't that concerned about his own appearance though, so it was fine if it didn't come out. He got plenty of potions on him all the time.
He sighed, then glanced at the man. "I hope you didn't have somewhere important to go." He'd probably not make the best of impressions with tea spots on his shirt.

He kind of felt bad for the guy the more he observed him. Clearly, he was distracted by something and since no one really knew other's thoughts or what was going on in their lives Warner just gave him a smile. "It's alright, really. I get it. My job keeps me preoccupied all the time. Plus this is nothing a little soap and water can't fix" or a cleaning spell once he was far enough away from muggles.
He took a seat back down and that's when he noticed his WSPM was open to the quidditch section. He quickly grabbed it and rolled it so no moving pictures could be seen. "Why don't I get you another cup of tea." He motioned for the girl that seemed to already be coming over with a mop to help clean up. She turned to get his tea and Warner turned back to the man.
"Oh well I guess I do have a few immigration meetings, but I have time to clean up before so it's not a big deal." Plus it really wasn't since he could get it cleaned quickly.

Well. Oliver supposed that was the best he could do in terms of cleaning up. Of course he attracted the attention of the staff to come with a mop, which was even more embarrassing. It wasn't that bad. Yes, he had spilled his tea all over the man's table, getting it not only on himself but the man's clothes as well. There really wasn't need for a mop as well. But he supposed that she was only doing her job.
And he figured that he apologized enough. There really was only so much one could say, and it certainly wasn't the end of the world anyway. He was glad the other man was understanding too. It was a simple fix, with soap and water, of course. If the man had been a wizard, he could have easily gotten rid of any mess with a simple cleaning spell. But since he was currently in a muggle location....
However, Oliver's eyes fell on the magazine the man had sitting out before he quickly pulled it away. Interesting. Though very careless. But he said nothing about it as the waitress came over with another cup of tea. "Thank you, but certainly not necessary," he told the other man at the offer of getting him a new tea. There seemed to be no charge for a spilled one anyway.
"Well, again I apologize for such an inconvenience before your meetings." Yes, he told himself he wouldn't apologize again, but now he felt bad that the man had meetings to attend and would likely have to change to be presentable. Unless he would be using spellwork himself. Hmm. "I won't hold you up though." He felt awfully awkward just standing there at the man's table, cleaning up and apologizing. So, yeah. Maybe he should find his own table.

Seeing the woman come back with the tea Warner gave her a small smile before sitting down to his own coffee. "It truly is nothing and you seem to have a lot on your mind. So anything to help someone have a better day." He didn't mind helping strangers at all and liked to pay it forward once in awhile.
"Don't worry about it at all. Take a seat and have a rest. I'll have the stay out before my meetings so don't worry." Could be because he had another shirt, could be because he'd use his wand the minute he got away from the cafe. "I don't now if my clients would mind a stain on my shirt anyway as long as their visas are being renewed." That's all they really cared about.
"Are you on a lunch break or going home for the day?" Maybe he could make the man relax a bit if he asked questions.

"They don't usually charge for a refill anyway, especially when someone spills their drink." Just saying. So while it was nice for the man to offer, it wasn't necessary, just as Oliver had said. He had already paid for it in the first place.
Did he want to have a seat though? It seemed like such an awkward situation and even though the other man was being exceptionally kind and understanding about it all, Oliver still felt a little weird about it. He decided to just swallow his pride and sit down anyway, figuring he'd just stay to finish his tea and sandwich, then be on his way.
He politely chuckled at the other man's idea of a joke before starting in on his sandwich. "It's my lunch break. I just work down the street." He didn't want to give too much away, just in case, even if he did suspect that the other man was a wizard. That might be interesting to try to find out without really coming out to say it.

It was really up to the man if he wanted to sit or not,
but Warner was going to get back to his coffee and break. He glanced at his watch to make sure he was still in the right time frame. He could never be late for the meeting that he had to go to. "Oh yes, I guess you are right." Taking a sip of his drink he watched as the man decided sitting down was going to be his thing.
"Oh, what do you do?" Curious to see if he might work for the ministry as well. "My main office isn't far from here, though I meet many clients in different parts of London." It always depended on the visa, if he had to track them down or if they were going to meet at the ministry. Today was one of those go track them down sort of days.
Now that he had someone sitting at the same table he rolled up his paper. He'd check scores later. It was rude to keep it open while sharing a table, plus he wasn't fully sure the man was muggle or wizard.

It was simply one of those days where Levi Richardson decided that he'd get his lunch at that little cafe near the Ministry. He rather liked the place and he found their beef sandwiches quite delicious. The thirty six year old lingered a bit outside, checking out the crowd. Actually, he was checking out the ladies. He always liked those Ministry types with their smart robes and on- point make up.
Levi winked at one who met his eyes before heading into the cafe. The woman had a wedding ring on her finger. Player as he might be, he had never been the cause for a marriage breaking nor will he ever be. He let his eyes glaze over the menus. Should he try another sandwich? Maybe he would find one that he liked even more than beef.

Decisions, decisions.
Annika Ogden was B O R E D.
Horribly so. Having not long since left from Brogan's office she was wandering down around the Ministry for poops and giggles. She could never and WOULD never do something so uptight as to work for the GOVERNMENT. How dreadful that sounded... but the people watching outside the café was proving o be quite interesting.
Much more so when she saw a guy clearly trying to find someone to chat up. Heh. She didn't mind playing along for a bit.
Moving inside the place quietly she turned a mega watt smIle on aND swept a glance about the place.
And up to the counter she went... and maybe right beside the guy she had seen outside. MAYBE. "It's so hard to get a decent cuppa 'round here, innit? "

He'd definitely settle for the beef sandwiches. Old habits die hard, eh? Levi rubbed at the stubble on his chin. Yes, that would be his choice. Before he could so much as go forward to place the order, there was someone beside him and she was was speaking. His eyes moved to her and all thoughts of food fled from his mind.
This woman was HOT. Damn. And that smile! He casually checked her out, not caring if she noticed. "Naw. There's good stuff here.'' Cue the suggestive look at her. There was no way that he was only referring to the food. "Can I buy you a coffee?'' Levi was very, very sure she'd say yes. After all, who could resist these looks?
Coffee. He needed some. And, not to be rude about the stuff you got in the Ministry, the muggles just seemed to do it better. Plus this place had donuts and scones, and he could not pass up the chance to have one or the other of those. Only once a week, of course, or his waistline would never forgive him.
Having acquired his snack and drink, Anderson made his way to a table outside, to make the most of the sunshine. Sitting down, he grabbed a newspaper someone else had left on a nearby seat, crossed his legs and began to read,
while sipping at his steaming hot coffee. Arsenal had lost? Typical.

The idea of getting lunch at a bakery was really appealing to Daisy today, so she had decided to head out there for a bit before heading back to Maddox. Just so long as she wasn't late everything would be fine, but there was still quite a lot for her to do before it was time to head home; there was never a dull moment when it came to being a personal assistant, she supposed.
Reaching the door, she spotted a familiar face sitting at one of the outside tables. Even though she didn't think she had ever spoken to him before, she recognised him. A moment later it occurred to her that he worked at the Ministry as well. Sometimes it was a little hard to keep track of these things at a place like this because it was frequented by both magical folks and muggles. Nothing wrong with that either, seeing as Daisy was a muggleborn herself.
Smiling, she approached him. "Hey there. We work in the same place though I don't think we have ever talked before." Of course she wasn't going to go into any more detail in case there was a muggle around, but surely he would know what he was talking about. Unless he thought she was just some crazy lady come over to bother him.

Nobody ever spoke to him when he was here. He always seemed to time his visits so he didn't bump into anyone else from the Ministry. Not that he was trying to do that, it just kind of happened. Today was apparently different, though, as no sooner had Anderson turned to the second page of his paper, than a young woman approached and spoke to him like she recognised him.
He glanced up, shielding his eyes from the sun, and looked at her for a few seconds. Then it dawned on him that, yes, he had seen her before. Briefly, admittedly, but they'd passed in the corridors. Breaking out into a smile, he placed his paper down and pushed out a chair, just in case she wanted to join him. "Afternoon. Yeah, I think we've crossed paths a few times. Level 3, right?"

Oh, look. This man wasn't acting like she was a weirdo. In fact, he was smiling and pushed out a chair in case she wanted to sit. Returning the grin, she accepted the offer, placing her bag on the table off to the side. Just so long as she wasn't too long at the cafe there was no need for Maddox to get annoyed; not as if she was a bad employee or anything. Daisy strove very hard to do all that was asked of her and then some.
And the man seemed to recognise her as belonging to Level 3, which wasn't too surprising with all the elevators at the Ministry. "Yes, I am the personal assistant. And you are on Level 2?" Or was she wrong about that? "My name is Daisy."

A personal assistant? Sometimes he thought it would be nice to have one of those himself. During those times the paperwork piled up and all his division were busy on assignments. Paperwork was his least favourite thing to do. Which was why he came out to this cafe to take a break from it whenever possible.
"Yep, Level 2, that's me. I'm in the CMEC." Anderson didn't elaborate further on what the acronym was, because she would know and those around them were not supposed to. He held out a hand to her in greeting. "Anderson. Nice to meet you. You stopping to eat?"

CMEC? Daisy had never heard that acronym before and had no idea what it could possibly stand for. "That sounds interesting. Is it top secret stuff?" Even though it was the Department of Mysteries that did the REAL confidential work within the ministry, there were other sections that might have their part in that kind of thing as well. It was hard to tell TOO much about it since the whole point of it all was for people who weren't directly involved to be completely ignorant.
"Nice to meet you too," she said pleasantly as she shook his hand. "I was thinking about it. Usually I eat my lunch inside, but it just seemed like such a nice day." Speaking of food, she might as well get some. Excusing herself, she went inside to get a snack and coffee before joining Anderson again. "Much better," she said before digging in.

"Top secret? No, not really." Only out here, which is why he had to choose his words carefully when he explained. "Counterfeit...you know...and Equipment Control." Rolling his hand, trying to get it across, Anderson tilted his head and hoped she got the missing word. She probably would. "Part of the law enforcement team."
He waited until she came back with her own food before replying to her comment, which was basically an agreement. Nodding his head, Anderson picked up his coffee again and took another sip of the slowly cooling liquid. If only wands were allowed, that could have done with a nice warm up. "Hmm, I agree. It'd be a shame to waste the gorgeous weather by sitting indoors. Doesn't happen often in this country, so I make the most of it!"

Oh. Daisy had been kind of hoping that Anderson worked in an area that did a lot of top secret stuff. Looked like she had probably been right about a lot of that stuff being done by the Department of Mysteries instead. Well, beyond SOME things. Of course there were probably top secret investigations and such withing Law Enforcement. "Still, that has to be pretty interesting at times, right?" She had noticed the eye roll, and really it DID sound pretty boring, but maybe sometimes it wasn't so bad??? "I'd have wanted to get into a more involved line of work, but I am a mother so I need to be more careful." Not that she would have been in the line of fire or anything, but she didn't need to take any risks. Kind of funny seeing as she had been in Gryffindor.
Daisy waited until she had swallowed before responding. In the meantime she nodded. "I agree, the weather really can be too cold for me. Then again I am from Georgia originally, and even though I have lived in Britain for a long time, I am still a southern girl in my core." Honestly part of her wanted to move back to the United States, but she had no idea if that would ever happen. Maybe she would talk to Milo about it at some point. Violet could always attend Ilvermorny when she was old enough... And she could get a job at a newspaper or MACUSA.

"Oh, of course. We get loads of interesting cases. I've not long been back from some undercover work myself." Which had been more dangerous than he'd have liked for it to be. But they caught the guys they were after, and now they were due to go through the legal process. And he was back hunting down errant magical equipment and doing paperwork. "I had a broom explode on me yesterday. So that was fun."
He chuckled and raised his eyebrows. Which he still had, thanks to his quick thinking. But his laughter ceased slightly when she mentioned being careful. He coughed and nodded and tried not to think about Virginia. It had been years since she died, but sometimes something happened, or something was said, and his mind went straight back to his wife. "Yeah, putting yourself on the front line isn't always best, not when you have a family..."
He was much happier when the subject turned to America. Anderson's face brightened again, and he clicked his fingers in Daisy's direction, as if something had just occurred to him. "I knew I could detect an accent! New Yorker, here. You go back much?" He didn't as much as he'd like, but then again his family was centered here now, so there wasn't really anything to draw him back to his homeland.

So it COULD be rather interesting in his line of work; Daisy thought that was definitely a good thing because work really SHOULD be enjoyable. She herself was fond of her job even if many people probably thought it was dull. It was nice to be needed, and she did do a lot to help Maddox run the department - well, with the more day to day aspect of things. "That sounds thrilling. Was there a lot of danger with it?" The Gryffindor in her wanted to know. "Really?" Her eyes widened slightly. "How did that happen?" Seemed as if Anderson hadn't really been hurt by it, so that was a good thing at least. Still that was something that no one wanted to happen.
There seemed to be something unspoken by the way that Anderson replied to her comment about being careful when you have a family. It wasn't so much what he said, but the WAY he said it. Daisy had no idea what had happened and didn't really know him all that well, so she thought better than to pry; it wasn't her business or anything. Instead she merely nodded and let the conversation move forward. His finger gesture got a small laugh from her, and she felt a lot happier when he mentioned that he was from New York. Another American. "I thought you sounded like you were from the States too!" It was always a nice feeling to know that there were other people at the Ministry from the same country as her. "I do sometimes. To visit my parents. What about you?"
