And, had she been aware of his thoughts, would have found his brain incredibly alluring.
"Mmmmmm, more of the political science and international law," she replied airily, one of her fingers tracing over the cover of her textbooks. "I'd say that my artistic endeavors are limited to to procrastination attempts and curiosity." Her brown eyes returned to the cover of her text book before glancing at her welcomed company. "I don't find it nearly as magical as I do my university work."
His interest in her had roused her curiosity and now she was putting her own feelers out there to try and figure out just what sort he was. Just without making a blatant slip up like she had done with Sayid and therefore lost the upper hand in the conversation. Hopefully a dishy fellow like himself would pick up on her nuisances, were he of the same 'sort'.
"And just what sort are you?" she grinned, propping both elbows up on the table and resting her chin on her dainty fists. "Polished fellow like yourself could be mistaken for an aspiring art student too."

A stranger who took to sticking out their tongue at him in the first three minutes of conversation? Rhydian was sold on this company.
With a grin, he straightened up in his chair, taking the time she used to explain her actual endeavors to straighten his hat upon his head. His eyebrow peeked at the mention of her university work, which earned her a rather intrigued look. "I'd say the art of curiosity is one of the hardest things to master, but the most rewarding."
Turning about, Rhydian straddled his chair so that he could face her properly, resting his arms over the back. A low whistle of consideration left him as he grinned at her. "Polished huh? Mighty kind of you to say so." At least someone appreciated the hat. She had to be the first, and for that she earned extra points. Perhaps he'd stick around.
"But for me, such personal care is the limit of my own artistic endeavors." His smile widened as he tipped his head to the side. "Though I'd say it has a similar magical quality to it as trying to unlock the mysterious minds of people who take less interest in their personal polishing."

The fellow seemed to have a bit of a fascination with his hat and her brown eyes were drawn to the way his hands fussed with it upon his head. "I've been reaping the benefits of my curiosity for as long as I can remember," she replied confidently but without and indication of feeling smug about such things. "Not all that hard to master if you have been encouraged to pursue it."
Which she always had. Or at least interpreted that that she had.
The whistle, while eliciting a subtle eye roll, was appreciated enough that she shifted just a little bit in her seat so he could appreciate with a little more ease. At least he wasn't trying to be subtle about it like more of the fellows on campus were. It was a bit maddening to glance over her shoulder at a pair of eyes that had obviously been looking to find the person awkwardly snapping their head in the opposite direction and fumbling about to look inconspicuous. "Quite welcome," she replied with a grin.
Her lips curls at his words, catching his emphasis quite clearly as relief set in her doe eyes. "Are you implying that I take less care?" she inquired, leaning one elbow on the table and resting her cheek against that hand while her other padded the empty seat next to her. She liked to believe she had a mysterious mind and therefore would be accepting that part of his compliment.

The first thing that he MUST have before starting his day is coffee. Gary always came to this cafe every time he returned to London to fulfill his caffeine addiction because they're not only serving good coffee but also some nice fresh-baked goods.
After parking his motorbike, The Canadian entered the cafe and made an order, a cup of double shot Americano and plain croissant. He took an outdoor seat to enjoy his order and the morning atmosphere of London, watching some Londoners in a hurry for work. Speaking of work... Gary looked on his cellphone and schedule to see if there's something work related that he needed to do. Working as a photojournalist for famous muggle magazine makes him have his phone on stand by 24/7.
There's just a meeting that will be happened after lunch.
Okay, he still have more time for that.

For Merlin's sake, Katrina was tired. She literally had so many things to do in one day. She even had to go back to her university later to help sort out the Potions ingredients that some bloody prankster had disorganised. Honestly, students in Wizarding University were supposed to be mature and of legal Wizarding age too. The blonde was obviously so annoyed. She didn't even bother to tie her hair into a decent ponytail before she left her flat because she was really in a hurry to finish everything. On top of that, she had Healer appointments to attend later on. For reasons.
Today was definitely a Horribly Haggard Hudson day.
She stopped by at one of those cafes near the Ministry. Kat didn't need to run on an empty stomach today. It wasn't good for all the reasons why she was busy today anyway. She contemplated on whether getting coffee was a good thing for... reasons. Instead, she settled for scone. Something to take on the go. However, she spotted a rather familiar face outside the cafe.
"What a pleasant surprise," Kat said with a smirk. "Hello, Garrett. Long time, no see." She looked down at her wristwatch. She had a couple of minutes to spare. Besides, she needed to catch up with this certain former Slytherin. "Still into green apples?"
More smirking.

What a beautiful morning.
While the other people were already in a hurry catching the bus and go to work at this hour, he still could enjoy his coffee and croissant and not to be worry that he's gonna be late for work because he didn't need to work on his office from 9 to 5 like others. So much win for being a freelance photojournalist.
He heard a voice calling his name... Well, NOT exactly his name but he had such a good memory about his school time at Hogwarts. There's only someone who called him Garrett, and that was... "Katrina Hudson." The Canadian spoke coolly. "Unless you have changed your name already." You know, some married women decided to take their significant other's surname. He rarely met the former Hogwartians around, maybe because he's mostly spending his life at the other side of the world. The Canadian just smirked when his fellow former snakes asking if he's into green apples. "Hmmm.... I think so." People love making a joke with his apple obsessions and he's just being chilled handling it like a boss. "Aren't you in hurry?"

As much as Kat liked to annoy the life out of Garrett, she couldn't help but feel relieved at seeing a familiar face from her Hogwarts years. Such a comfort, really. Where in Merlin's beard did he go after graduation anyway? Kat didn't know much about him anymore. Indeed, the more reason to catch up with her friend.
Goodness, Garrett. Not even a hello or a good morning back? Ah, it didn't surprise the blonde at all. It was a typical Garrett. "No name changing but..." Kat raised her left hand and wiggled her fingers, showing him her engagement ring. So yes, no name changing yet at least. "And what about you, Mr. Rush? What have you been up to lately?" Kat took a seat opposite him. She wondered if he missed her and all her pestering, because the twenty five year old definitely did. Merlin, her Hogwarts days seemed like a veeeery long time ago. "Ah, not really. I actually have to head back to my university to sort things up and I have a Healer's appointment in..." The former Slytherin took a second to look down her watch. "Half an hour. Still got time. Unless you want me to go instead..."
Garrett received all the smirks from Kat today. He really did.

Of course he didn't forget that Slytherins are capable with their smirks. It's like smirking is one of the talent that every Slytherin should have, including himself.
Oh, a shiny sparkly thing on her finger.
"Congratulations." The Canadian said to her. Gary wasn't really surprised if she's engaged already, or even married. That's why he asked her if she took her significant other's surname yet. They have grown up and entering the age where settling down and building a family is such one important thing for their life, while he is here still single. No girlfriend, no fiancee, no wife, heck even no fling with any girls. Gerald Alexander Rush is still available on the market, yo. "Aren't you gonna invite me to your wedding?" He casually asked.
And how is him? "I'm good, just being busy with my work lately." He rarely came back to London, maybe just two until three times in a year. Last year he even spend the whole year abroad without going back here or to Vancouver. "I'm not asking you to leave, Hudson." He chuckled. "Why don't you sit down and have a cup of coffee before doing your stuffs?" His treat, obviously.

This was a weird relationship, whatever Kat and Garrett had. It wasn't even that much of a friendship either but nevertheless, the blonde found it just as amusing and friendly as one. All this smirking, it was totally Slytherin thing too. The fact that they were from the same House was enough reason to make them automatic acquaintances... or... whatever. Merlin, take the wheel.
Yeah, she got a lot of congratulations lately. She and her fiancé, Cle, have been engaged for quite a while now, actually. They weren't in a rush to officially tie the knot. They were both happy with whatever they had at the moment and Kat was glad that Cle respected her decision. "Thank you, Garrett." And as for the wedding. Really, Rush? "Oh no, you are definitely not invited, Garrett. It's not as if we didn't go to Hogwarts together, got sorted into the same House and shared a Common Room." Please, they even played Quidditch as team mates too. Crazy, Garrett. Always has been. All the sarcasm, but Kat managed a smirk. Smirking and sarcasm were Slytherin things too, apparently. "But we're not really in a hurry, to be honest."
Ah, of course he didn't want her to leave. I mean... who would? Cough. "Don't overwork yourself, Garrett. Wouldn't want to grow white hair early." But that would've been really funny though, just saying. "Uh, I'll settle for my scone at the moment. I really don't want to indulge myself to more caffeine..." Kat shifted awkwardly. Yeah, for reasons. "Unless you're paying for whatever drink I'm getting." Kat wasn't turning down an offer.

Did she think that he couldn't take that sarcasm? Yes, obviously Gary knew that she's being sarcastic.
"Oh, never mind." He casually spoke, she's gonna invite him anyway, he knew that she couldn't resist not inviting him in her big day. Maybe they weren't that kind of common friends relationship, more than acquaintance but not in a friendship level either. They were.... housemates. An once a Slytherin will always be a Slytherin and didn't the snake have such a strong bond of brotherhood among their fellows? "So that means you're not gonna be Mrs... someone in a year or two." Who was that lucky guy anyway? Maybe someone from Slytherin too, since this Hudson girl only attracted with the sliver and green serpent squads.
Him? Overworked? Pffft...
Gerald Alexander Rush had never felt being overworked. Being a freelance photojournalist makes his job feels like holiday everyday. "I'm not overworking. I just love my job." Speaking of, he needed a new assignment and he's gonna ask the magazine if they needed him to be in a specific place and write articles about that. And... did she just reject a cup of caffeine? "What are you, pregnant?" The Canadian joked. "Alright then, you can have tea.." Such a British choice "..or anything else."

Oh, Garrett. Kat definitely knew that the fellow Slytherin was aware of the sarcastic tone in her voice. Otherwise if he didn't, that would have been weird. Slytherins practically bleed sarcasm. It was a Snakey thing, but not limited to the house of the noble alone of course. "Garrett, you're insane. Of course, you're invited. You were our team mate." That made him an automatic VIP to the wedding ceremony, obviously. As for the question that followed, Kat wasn't sure how to respond. "Probably. We have no date in mind. And it's Belrose, Garrett," she pointed out. "You know Cle, right?" Of course, he did. Duuuuh.
This entire conversation had the words "GARRETT PLS" written all over it.
But it was good to know that the older Slytherin was loving his job. Kat loved hers, too. She was a total Potions person, after all. She learned a lot and was also able to enjoy as well. It was definitely a win-win situation for her to pursue something that she loved. And Kat may have nearly choked on her scone with the comment that followed.
WHAT? GARRETT.
"What makes you say so?" Kat tried to keep her cool, but she may have failed at that too. Was it that obvious? The blonde didn't even know the results yet. That was entirely the reason why she had to pay a visit to the Healer. And also the point why she had an appointment. Not that she was going to tell Garrett. He was pretty good at reading minds already. Was he a Seer? "Uhm, tea would be okay." She wasn't sure, though. Katrina Hudson was absolutely going to fail at this possible pregnancy thing, no big deal.

Theodore liked it here. It was lovely, and it always smelled good. Which was why he always seemed to drop in whenever he was passing by. He was sat with a coffee and a newspaper, (proper adult-like, right?) until he got distracted with the other customers chatting so he took a moment to observe and eavesdrop. The main reason he seemed so distracted was because he recognised two of them sat just a few seats away. That was Kat Hudson! And... and that other guy. That other guy from Slytherin. Theo knew him too but his name had completely escaped him.
AheM. Involuntary cough right there.
He stared at them both with a furrowed brow until one of them noticed him. It wasn't very Theodore Kinsley to just go up there with dawww-miss-you-hugs and all that. Not that he missed these two people in particular, well maybe Kat, but still, bumping into old friends was kinda cool.

See? Of course he's gonna be invited. "I know." The Canadian just smirked at her. "You're just gonna be a bad housemate if you didn't invite me." And she didn't want to be judged as a bad Slytherin, did she? He needed to filter his words by not mentioning some stuffs related to wizardry world since they're currently in muggle area and since he's working with non-magical people, of course he's expert on doing that. He wasn't a guy who loved attending social events or wedding or anything else, but it was such an honor to be on hers.
Belrose... Cle... Right. He remembered that dude, wasn't he a transferred student when Gary was on his last year or so? "Yes." He just nodded and sipped his coffee. It's not that surprising if there are so many Hogwarts peeps ended up marrying the fellow students or the housemates. So that means they had been together since school until now. Wow, just.... wow. And apparently his pregnancy comment hit a nerve. Yeah, Gary could see this girl tried to be cool and act like there's nothing happened. But seriously, it was just a random joke. He'd never dealt with pregnant women before (thankfully) so he had zero idea how the hormonal women with babies inside their womb act.
"Relax, girl. I'm just kidding." He spoke with his flat serious tone (Mind you that Gerald Rush always has a flat expression) But judging from her gestures, she might be. Well, who knew? "A cup of tea then." He called the waiter and ordered a cup of tea for a possible-pregnant girl. Taking a bite of his croissant, Gary noticed someone who was sitting not that far from them gave a stare. Oh, another familiar face huh? "Looks like we have another former housemate in here."

Pfffft. Katrina Hudson, a bad housemate? What a funny thing to say, Gerald Rush. Kat snickered at the comment. This conversation was both really entertaining and unsettling. So very Slytherin. "Me? A bad housemate, though? Honestly, Garrett, you're still as insane as you were back in our school days." He didn't change much, Kat noticed. At least, that's what Kat could say. Maybe he'd developed a wrinkle somewhere but personality-wise, Garrett will always be Garrett. But it was good that he remember Cle. Of course, they were all part of the Quidditch team together. "What about you, Mr. Head Boy? How is your love life?" Important questions, really.
Well, he BETTER be joking about the pregnant thing. Kat sort of settled down a bit. Merlin, she overreacted a little bit over that. She wasn't even sure yet, but it did cause a great effect on her. The blonde was really... you know... lost. That was the term. "Thank you," she said, for the tea. Besides, she was kinda sure that Garrett had loads of money. He had a great job, yeah? And he loved it, or so he says. Tea did sound good for now. Possible baby-carrying was such an agonizing wait, to be honest.
But, would you look at that familiar gatecrashing face! Normally Kat would've thrown her famous glares at them, but she knew that face too well. She winked at Theo as sort of an acknowledgment, then waved her pointer finger at him. How long had he been there? How much did he KNOW? Merlin, Theodore Kinsley. Professional gatecrasher! "Well, don't act like a stranger, Theodore." That served as his invitation to join them. Garrett wouldn't mind, right? Kat missed him a whole lot, really.
It smelled so SLYTHERIN in the café. Not that she was complaining. Definitely a yay for familiar faces.

~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Here she was again, back in the United Kingdom after that horrible confrontation with her entire family. Lying Barry had gone running back to Nora. He was a liar in Rosemary's eyes because he had endlessly told her he loved her and he never would leave her. ''Liar!'' she thought angrily as she strode to the bakery she often saw while here.
Pregnant and alone, the fuming woman took a seat outside, in the shade of one of the umbrellas. She barely registered the Ministry employees, lots of them, as she replayed the scenes at the Bergstrands' household. "I don't need him,'' she told herself after a while. "I don't need him.'' She was Rosemary Bergstrand for goodness sake! She was a strong woman. She would get through this!

Theo dropped his stare as soon as Gary had spotted him. Lightning reflexes, he had. They probably didn't even notice!
.........
..................
Of course they noticed. How could they not remember who HE was???! Not possible. His eyebrows raised as he looked back up after hearing his full first name being said. "No one really calls me that anymore." He said with a half smile. Apart from his mother. Though he did like his proper name. People forgot how much he used to rage whenever anyone was too lazy to say all of it. Theo dumped his newspaper but picked up his coffee to swing over to their table, fully gatecrashing their get together. "You two on a date?" He asked before a quick, casual swig.

It was break and Gabby wanted to see Archer, but she was feeling hungry and wanting something from the bakery. Maybe it was a good idea to stop off to get a few things for them to eat before heading over to the greenhouses.
Purchases in hand, she was about to head out when she changed her mind. Maybe she could eat a little bit here before heading back. She was HUNGRY after all. Stepping outside, she spotted a rather angry looking woman who seemed to be pregnant as well judging by the fact that she had a small but noticeable bump. "How far along are you?" she asked curiously while not caring in the least bit if she was snapped at. People didn't scare her and she could sass talk with the best of them. In fact, she WAS the best at it.

"I don't need him,'' Rose kept thinking to herself, sort of a chant. She wanted to go home but at the same time she didn't. Going home meant facing everyone and she didn't want to. Though she wouldn't admit it, she was ashamed of herself for having an affair and putting her entire family through such an ordeal. Going home also meant seeing her children whom she missed so much. Jack... she was starting to miss him. Him over Barry. The realisation stunned her. She missed Jack? He never wanted to see her face again and she missed him?
Rose could not think about this any longer because of the voice interrupting her. She looked up, not registering the woman in front of her due to the mixed emotions she was feeling. Then she noticed she had a baby bump too. "A few months,'' she replied as she rubbed her tummy again. "You?''

According to Hudson, he hadn't changed since back when they were still in school. Really? Gary didn't realize that. Since he graduated from Hogwarts, he rarely met his fellow alumni (just the ones who attended reunion years ago, Mordred and Beatrice Castell). Maybe he hadn't changed very much since only other people could see that. When the girl asked about his love life, the Canadian tried not look surprised and rolled his eyes toward her. "I'm still single." He casually answered. The ideas of being someone's significant other had never come to his mind especially that his love life record was... Not that good.
And finally the other former Slytherin joined them. Wait... Why on earth Kinsley thought they were on a date?
.......................
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Gary couldn't help but laughed. "Nope, we're not." He answered. "I'm not having a date with someone's fiancee that also might gonna be someone's mother."

Nobody ever really called him Theodore anymore? Weird. Not that Kat called him such name before, either. It was mostly Theo, actually. "It's either Theodore or Kinsley from me, so just take your pick," the twenty five year old said. It wouldn't matter much to her, anyway. Besides, Kat didn't even give a care about the fact that she was the only girl in this conversation. It was something she was used to, since the three of them have been Quidditch team mates before. "How are you?" Kat said, mostly directed to Theo. They needed catching up, after all.
BUT...
Oh, Merlin.
Kat wasn't sure if she wanted to laugh but the thought of her and Garrett DATING? Please. That was less likely, and definitely not something that was ever gonna happen. "You heard him, Theodore. He's single." Just had to point that out because the blonde had never imagined herself going on a date with Mr. Apple Eater. Before Kat could talk, Garrett sort of just summarised everything for her. "Eh, thank you, Garrett... except... the last part." She eyed him for that tiny detail. That wasn't anything near true... well, yet.
Insanity. Did green apples mentally disable people? Because Garrett probably was.

"Call me Kinsley. Reminds me of those old Quidditch days, Hudson." He was still referred to as his surname often, of course. It was a sport thing. Kinda rude. Theo kinda felt like he was on a first name basis with the world by now, what with his status and everything. "Yeah, all good thanks. Still broomsticking around." He replied with a firm, ongoing nod. He was desperate to find out about their Quidditch experiences since school, but he'd allow a few more minutes to basque in conversation about himself first.
Oh, okay, no date. Shame. Theo almost choked on his coffee when the word 'mother' was used. Kat? A mother? So soon??! His eyes dropped to her stomach area before realising how rude that was, so he looked back at her face. "Seriously??" His deductions had told him that Gary probably was not the baby daddy, so Theo quickly racked his brains back to Hogwarts days to try and remember Kat's dating history but it had completely disappeared, obviously. Anyway, Kat kinda had dismissed the mother news... kinda... but confirmed the rest? "Who's the lucky fiance, then?" He grinned and had a sudden thought about marriage and babies.
He wondered what his Misses thought about those. He had never asked.
Anyway, grin was still in place as he looked towards Gary who was single. Fair enough, sometimes that was nicer.
....
AHEM. "Still playing the field, ayyyy mate?!" Theo gave him a light punch on the shoulder and a wink. A WINK? Possibly the most laddish thing Theodore had ever done/said.

Oh good. The woman wasn't turning her anger towards Gabby. Obviously she wasn't AFRAID because there was nothing she feared... It was more that she didn't want to fight with someone who shared something in common with her and who might have advice for her. Well, so long as this wasn't her first child. Otherwise the whole endeavor would be rather pointless and a waste of her time. As it was she was going to hang around until she knew for sure if there was any point to things.
Not caring to ask if she could sit, Gabby took the chair opposite from the other woman's. "I am a few months too. I'm barely showing, but I'm excited." About everything besides being fat. "This is my first baby so we don't really know what we are getting into." That was why it was a good idea to read up on things and take classes though they hadn't gotten to that point yet - if they went at all.

This was such an expected reunion. It was good to catch up with his former housemates and reminded him of his good ol' days back when he was still wearing those silver and green serpents emblem on his chest.
The more Katrina denied that she's going to be a mother, the more he had a suspicion that this girl was actually pregnant. First, she denied caffeine and not to mention she did say something about healer appointment? HA! But Gary just pretended that he didn't know about that, ahem. So he just grinned playfully and finished his cup of coffee. "I guess you're still playing for the Wanderers, right?" The Canadian might now really follow Quidditch, but he knew that some of the former Snakes played on the league. Like him and West Odessa for Wanderers. Dylan Montmorency for Arrows and Sierra Greingoth for Harpies. Speaking of, it's kinda surprising why Hudson didn't choose to play professionally since she's a fantastic keeper.
Gary just slightly chuckled when Theo gave him a light punch on his shoulder. "Nope. I'm working as a photojournalist for muggle magazine." He had never have a desire to play Quidditch professionally since back in school, he was just in a team for one term as a reserved player.

Well, it seemed like a very pleasant day for an unplanned get-together with her former Housemates. Kat sort of mused at the fact. All these familiar faces in one day. Well, two only... but it was more than Kat would've guessed.
Alright, so they were sticking to the surname. "Noted, Kinsley," the twenty five year old replied and then grinned at him. She didn't mind. IT was what they used to call each other back in the day, when they were still Hogwarts students and Quidditch wasn't banned there yet. It was such a sad reality to see what once brought students together be taken away. Kat always considered Quidditch as a very important part of her school days. Really sad, indeed. "Well, that's good to know. How's your team? Wanderers, am I right?" Kat rarely had time to watch leagues these days because of work, but she did try to keep up with the scores and standings as much as possible. Goodness, she did miss Quidditch.
Kat didn't notice the "looking at her stomach" thing because she was kiiiinda busy side-glaring Garrett. Please. What were these two Slytherin men doing? Merlin, they were so lucky they'd seen her at her worst during Quidditch practices and matches. For that, she didn't mind and was more comfortable with these two than with anybody else... sort of.
Lucky fiance? How flattering. "That would be our team mate Belrose," Kat replied and sipped again on her tea. Still warm, which was a good thing. Pretty sure everyone was aware that she and Cle had been dating since their sixth year. Now, she had a passing thought about them raising tiny Quidditch players in their own house. Cute. Ahem. "And how about you and Cassia?" Kat had heard about them, but she never really found the time to ask one of them personally about their relationship. She was taking her chance now.
Wait, wait. Photojournalist? Awesome stuff! "So you take pictures? That sounds interesting. What of, Garrett?" she asked. More sipping of her tea. So that meant he took great pictures? Muggle pictures, at least, so more of still art and not the moving photographs they had here in the Wizarding world.

Did it bother Rose that this woman hadn't bothered to ask if she could take a seat? No, it didn't though once upon a time it would have; if she wasn't busing fuming at Barry. The woman was rather chatty too and didn't seem to want to talk about anything but her baby. This suited Rose just fine. It was a welcome distraction for her.

Not being able to hold off of food, Gabby started digging into one of the pastries that she had gotten for her and Archer. Oh well. There were plenty more where that came from. "Thanks. Same to you." Gabby didn't really care about children besides hers, but she was trying to be polite because there was someone talking to her who had experience being a mother and could show her the ropes. Of course there were other mothers that she could ask - and would - but it never hurt to have even more assistance. She was going to be the best mother in the world even though she was nervous.
"How many children do you have?" Just for curiosity sake because if she had multiple children she would know more than someone who had just one. That seemed to be the way that these things worked. Gabby had no real idea because she hadn't cared about children at all until recently. Before them they were all dirty, messy, smelly, and loud. Her princess wouldn't be any of those things, however. "My fiance's niece has been giving me potion to help with my nausea during the daytime. Thank Merlin for that. My main concern is getting fat." The moment that her clothes became too small to fit her she was going to have a freak out. "We haven't yet, though I am sure that it's going to be a girl. What about you and your husband?"
