What was she doing aga- oh, right. She needed a table. She'd wait for Ella before she ordered her food.
Merlin, it was crowded in here. The twenty-two year old had forgotten just how busy it could be at this time of day but it was worth it if it meant spending some time with Soph. She missed her. Also there was the small fact that they had a wedding to discuss. AJHDJHLKS. Yes. Okay. Ahem.
Where was Soph, anywa-OH!
"Sophie!" The blonde spotted her best as she'd recognize that head of hair anywhere and she beamed, heading over to the brunette excitedly. Next came the hug. Big hug for the best friend, mhm. "I'm starved! What should we eat?" PAUSE. "Also, hi!" Heh.

Sophie was still looking around, mostly trying to find the perfect table when she heard her name being called by a familiar voice. She turned just in time to return Ella's big hug. "Hi! I am too! We need..." The brunette looked around, still deciding on the table. "...food. And a table. Maybe a table first?" Then they'll be guaranteed some peace to workkkk on the most important thing: ELLA'S WEDDING DKLFNSKJ
"Uh..." Sophie stretched her neck and stood on tip-toes to try and spot the bestest table she could find that was still available and eventually saw one that seemed good enough. "How about there?" She asked, pointing towards the table and immediately moving towards it because you never knew how long it'd take for someone to take it. They had to be quickkkk and Sophie was. "Voilà! Our table." She grinned.
Now she could answer Ella's question. "I think I'm having a sandwich." Sophie said as she put her bag on the table and looked towards the counter, considering her options. "Do you want to go order and I keep the table? Or the other way around?"

"Sandwiches and fizzy drinks coming right up. Go into my bag and take out the folder, yeah? It has some of the wedding stuff in there. Color scheme and some bridesmaid dresses I thought were pretty. Have a look." And with that, the blonde went to get their food.

All of his instincts told him he should be yelling at this person who had wronged him, throwing some kind of temper tantrum, and yet the butterflies in his cold little grinch heart were telling him to...what was that? Be nice!? Oh ew.
The poor young man was deeply torn, but before he had much time to think about it, the unknown kryptonite-girl handed him some napkins, which he took from her on instinct. Their hands accidentally brushed and his large green eyes widened once more as the butterflies went nuts. Oh dear Merlin. He hated this so much and yet his sharp green eyes couldn't seem to leave the petite brunette before him. "Thank you," he found himself saying before he realized he was saying it. It was then that he seemed to realize she would probably now turn and walk away, as was logical. His dark grumpy loner side let out a sigh of relief at the prospect of being released form this unfamiliar, uncomfortable feeling and yet this new, rainbow-filled side demanded he keep the conversation going.
Before he had even made the choice, the rainbows quickly won over. "I'm Lysander Norman Ryle," he said quickly, his deep voice shaking just slightly -- something extremely unusual for the young man who was often known for his even cadence and smooth speaking voice. WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO HIM!?
"Who are you?" he asked out of curiosity, but it sounded more like he was wondering aloud what force on earth could have reduced him to this butterfly-filled state.
M'kay, she'd apologized and even attempted to be helpful, so her job was pretty much done now, yeah? At least since he didn't seem to have any protests. Time to throw her stuff away and head back to work.
Or not, actually. Because he was suddenly introducing himself...with his full name, even. Um...okay.
Penelope wasn't gonna give out her full name too, but she supposed she could play along for now. "Someone who likes coffee," she replied simply. "But I go by Penelope."

"Penelope," Lysander repeated, and it might've been the sweetest word he'd ever uttered by the look on his face. He'd never met a Penelope before, and yet now it felt immediately as if he was missing her this whole time.
He quickly seemed to realize that she was preparing to leave. Of course, she was -- by all means, why wouldn't she leave? Lysander immediately felt idiotic and embarrassed, what on earth was he doing standing here, admiring staring at her. He panicked, his green eyes darting from her to her lost coffee cup and back to her. "Let me buy you another," he requested softly, gesturing vaguely to the cafe adjacent to them. It might've been the nicest offer to ever arise from Lysander Ryle.

Yes, that was her name. Maybe repeating something someone just said helped some people remember things better. She was totally worth remembering, so it would make sense.
What was gonna happen next though? Could she leave now, or did he have something else he wanted to say? Penelope was kinda curious now, and she fortunately wasn't in too much of a hurry for now, so she could spare a few more minutes.
And once again she was surprised by what he said. Buying her another coffee? "I guess if you wanna." She shrugged. Seemed harmless enough, yeah? Free coffee was almost as good as free food.
Maybe she should spill coffee on people more often if she got free stuff out of it.

HEHE, it was a lovely table. Probably as lovely as the rest of them, but now it was their table so it was special. Momentarily special. Heehee!
"Could I have lemonade instead, please?" Sophie asked as she pushed their things around a bit to make the space more neat and rummaged her pocket to give some money to Ella. "OOHHH, lovely!" The brunette bounced excitedly after handing some galeons to her friend and sat down. She pulled Ella's bag closer to herself so she could get the folder her friend refered to.
As Ella went to get their lunch, she found both the folder her best friend had brought and the one she herself had put together as well. She placed Ella's one in front of her and her own one in front of Ella's seat aaaand waited.

Ella returned a few minutes later with their food and drinks, balancing everything and then setting it down on the table. She was careful to avoid the folders, of course. Couldn't risk ruining the information she'd gathered for the big day which was tucked inside! She was excited just thinking about it. Stressed, too. Why were weddings so hard to plan?
"So the dresses for you, Ness, and Anya will be blush colored. I figured if you wanted, you could pick out a slightly different style so you stand out?" Especially since the dress options were probably a bit plain for Sophie's tastes. She did love bright colors. And Ella? Well she loved Alec. Did she mention how excited she was about all this?

Sophie moved the folders as soon as Ella brought the food so they wouldn't get stained or anything. "Thaank you!" She then looked at the food and suddenly remembered they were in a Muggle place and that she had given Ella galeons instead of Muggle money. Actually... Sophie hadn't touched Muggle money in ages! She stared blankly straight ahead of her for a few seconds before shaking her head. They had other things to think about nowww!
Good thing she snapped out of it because Ella was already talking dresses! Sophie smiled as she rested her elbow on the table and chin on her hand and listened to her best friend saying they'd be blush coloured. For some reason Sophie thought that was a very Ella colour. Hehe. She nodded as Ella continued to say Sophie could have a different style to stand out! "Sounds great! And I promise I won't add any... vibrant colour. Or any extra colour at all." She said with a grin before finally taking a bite from her sandwich and caarefully opening Ella's folder, keeping the food as far away from it as possible. "Ohhh, these are nice!" The brunette slowly looked through the dress options. "I've put together a few ideas for the food in there!" She added, gesturing towards the folder she had brought. And noooo, she didn't just think of food all the time! She also thought of Mordred. And Charms. Hehe!

It cannot be emphasized enough how unlike Lysander this was to be doing. He had never, ever, ever ever EVER had this kind of reaction to another human being. From his earliest memories, he could recall preferring to be alone, preferring to avoid another's company, and more often than not, throwing things at other kids on the playground when they came too near.
And yet, here he was. Fraternizing. His admiration for the stranger seemed to grow as she stood there, his large green eyes blinking curiously from behind his glasses. She didn't seem easily swayed by his offer, or even interested in him and he liked that immediately about her.
As she allowed him the opportunity to get her another coffee, he gestured for her to sit once more before disappearing into the cafe for what seemed to be only a minute. A short amount of time, really, perhaps too short. More than likely young Lysander shoved through the line until he reached the front and acquired the coffee his company required in as short of time as possible. Leaving several disgruntled cafe patrons and an emotionally scarred barista behind him, Lysander silently and swiftly slipped into the seat across from Penelope, gently setting the mug before her.
He had...no idea what to say. And that was a first for him. After many moments of awkward silence, his eyes finally met her own.
"I never do this." And it was clear by his posture that this was uncomfortable for the young man. He seemed to want to go, and yet he couldn't really get up from the chair, his eyes fascinated by this kryptonite.

While Soph busied herself with eating and browsing the dress selections, Ella excitedly looked through the food items her best had suggested. "It all looks so delicious! Y'know, I bet Alec would be okay just having pizza at the wedding. Pizza with heart-shaped pepperoni on top." She grinned and then shook her head, taking another bite of her sandwich.
"I thought this one would look nice on you." The blonde paused what she'd been doing to tap one of the pictures she'd cut out. "My dress will have lace, too." Not that she'd seen the finished product yet. Poor Ari had her hands full with all the dresses she'd been making for Cat, as well as the one for Ella, so the former badger wasn't rushing her to finish. Practicing patience over here, mhm.

Sophie had to cover her mouth with her free hand when Ella said Alec would be okay with just pizza. "If that's what you both want..." She said, chuckling. Then the blonde mentioned heart-shaped pepperoni! "OH, I can easily do that! Sophie had a tendency to talk so fast that it made Ella's head spin, but her enthusiasm was appreciated, as was her skill. Honestly, the blonde would be a mess right now without Soph. Gran not being around had been getting to the former badger lately and she couldn't handle doing everything on her own. Alec was a big help, but she knew he had a lot on his plate as it is, and having her best friend around and willing to do what she could meant everything to Ella.
"I wasn't really serious about the pizza, Soph!" Ella smiled, shaking her head. "I mean, not that I'd be opposed to it? Actually, maybe we could do a buffet or something. All our favorite foods included. That could be cool." The twenty two year old sipped on her drink thoughtfully before glancing back at the brunette across from her. "Could you do a flower sculpture instead?" That could be neat. "Like a moving topiary, but a floral one?" Green eyes lit up with excitement because that actually sounded brilliant!
"Yeah? They have ones with straps for the other girls and I figured if you like that style, we could go with those?" And Ella would take care of the jewelry for the bridal party. She already had something in mind. "Soph, you should! Ari is doing such a good job and she wouldn't mind and maybe we'll see Oakey there, too!" Not that Soph didn't already see him at work and stuff but badger buddies back together sounded nice, didn't it? "Soon. Really soon, I hope. I can't wait to try on the finished product. I might cry, y'know." And by might, she meant she would totally cry.

Sophie chuckled again when Ella said she wasn't being serious. You could never know, could you?? The brunette nodded and gestured again to the folder she had brought. "I think you'll like some of the desert options I put there." Gummy worms and ice cream SO PRETTILY arranged even Sophie thought they looked wonderful and she wasn't even a big fan. And OH!! Flower sculpute! Sophie flailed her hands a bit, lunch completely forgotten by now. "Oohhhh, oh! Yes, I could do that1! Remember that Herbology project we did with professor Bentley!? I loved my moving topiary! And my mum can help with the best plant options! Ohh, that's going to look so beautiful!" Sophie couldn't WAIT to do that!! "You leave that to me!" She added almost pulling out a quill and ink from her bag before she remembered they were in a Muggle café. So... uh... "Do you have a pen?" Sophie finally looked at Ella and blinked. "I really need to get used to being in the... 'normal' world again... if you know what I mean." The former Hufflepuff shook her head.
"Sure, they are lovely! As long as you're happy with them, I'm happy too!" The twenty-two year-old smiled and nodded. "I want you to be totally happy with your day because it's going to be WONDERFUL!" WHO WAS SHOUTING?? Not Sophie! She was just being emphatic, okaaay? EMPHATIC! And then Ari, Oakey and wedding dress talk. "And the kids!" NOT that it meant anything. Hehehe. Noope, nope, nothing to see here. "I know! Merlin, it'll be amazing! I can't wait to see it! And it's okay to cry!" She added grinning. Totally normal! Not that Sophie herself did, y'know, she totally didn't she did.

"You can't really go wrong with dessert, Soph," Ella said distractedly, eyes on the things her best friend had come up with. Still, she had favorites. Luckily hers were very similar to Alec, making less work for them when it came down to selecting the final menu. And apparently flowers didn't need to be an issue either. How could Ella have forgotten about Soph's mum? This was her area of expertise! "I will! I trust you, Soph!" And the brunette knew her tastes were plainer than the charms enthusiast so Ella wasn't worried. Wait-what? ...Oh. OH. Heh. "Yeah, I've got one. Let me just-" The blonde searched in her bag and then produced a blue pen, setting it down on the table. "I do get it." Wink!
"You're kind of the best, y'know." Ella's eyes might have been tearing up a bit but only because she loved Sophie so much for being there for her. It meant more than she could say, really. She didn't know how to thank her for it. As for the mention of kids, the blonde raised her eyebrows. "Kids on the brain, hm?" Was the best friend dropping hints or? "Do you think Alec will be a crier when he sees the dress on me?"

Sophie chuckled. "That sure makes things easier." Ella's opinion on dessert amused the former Hufflepuff, who still couldn't fully understand what was so special about sweets. But well, since Ella loved them, there would probably be plenty at her wedding and Sophie was completely fine with that. Sophie gave Ella a beamy grin when her best friend said she trusted her. GOOD, because Sophie was SUPER excited about this and was most definitely going to do her VERY BEST. Getting the pen Ella offered her, the brunette started jotting a few things down. "Thanks! So, do you have any specific type of flower you really want?" She asked, looking up at the blonde.
And there was Sophie giving a beamy grin again when Ella said she was kind of the best. She knew that was Ella's way of saying she was the best, which she found a bit funny. Hence the chuckle. "Thanks! I'm glad you have good taste!" Because honestly, Sophie would wear almost anything Ella wanted her to, even if she thought it was horrendous. Good thing that would not be the case! "It's all going to be lovely, Ella! All of it!" Sophie added, noticing how emotional her friend looked. SUCH AN EMOTIONAL MOMENT, WEDDINGS <3333 and ELLA was getting married aldfnskjlfnsdkljfnsdjkfndsjnfljKLFJSNDJKFNDJKF
Merlin, it was too much for Sophie's poor little heart. HEHE! JUST KIDDING, it was all TOO brilliant and Sophie could do this for as long as it was needed.
'Kids on the brain, hm?'"No." The 22 year-old grinned. Whaaaat even made Ella think that? Hehehehe. Lalala. As for Alec. "No doubt! I'm pretty sure everyone's going to end up crying. I mean it." Like, really. Did Ella even KNOW how many people were looking forward to her wedding? Yeah, it wasn't only Sophie!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!!!

It had been awhile since Ronnie and Jory had actually gone out. They'd mostly been eating dinner at home lately, which Ronnie didn't mind. Though, it was always nice to go out once in awhile.
As soon as she was finished up with work, she rushed over to the Cafe excitedly. Pushing open the door, she peeped in and took a quick scan around. Seeing that Jory hadn't shown up yet, she found herself a table and sat down. The red head took a glance towards the door, waiting for Jory to arrive.

Jory wasn't that far behind Ronnie when she entered the Cafe. He was just trying to work up the courage to deal with the fact that he was about to shatter her heart into a million little pieces. He finally took a deep breath then strode into the cafe, towards her table. He channeled all his bravery. He was a man on a mission.
The Auror knew Ronnie would see him instantly because she was watching the entrance. He forced a smile. "Hi, Ronnie.'' On a good day, this would have been a nice outing for them both since they spent a lot of their time home. But that didn't even feel like home anymore since Jory had started being a bit distant with Ronnie. Surely she hadn't missed that change.
"I have something to tell you.'' He came straight to the point. Mostly he just wanted to get it over with before he lost his courage. This was even more difficult than being out in the field with bad wizards. Jory took a deep breath and tried to adjust his tone of voice to something softer and reasonable. "Ronnie, I'm really sorry about for what I'm about to say and do.'' It was now or never. ''I've developed feelings for someone else. I really love her.'' Ever since his Hogwarts days but he never realised that before.

Then, just as she had gotten comfortable, in came Jory. She smiled at the sight of him and waved him over.
"Hey, Jory!" She greeted, standing to hug him and kiss his cheek. It was so nice to be out with him. She had gotten a weird feeling at home with him being...well...different. Not TOO different but something about the way he had been acting had made her wonder. But she had shrugged it off, assuming it was a work thing. She didn't want to bother him about it.
Then his face changed. He said he was sorry for what he was about to say. Her smile turned into a frown and she gave a concerned look. "Sorry about wha-" but she was cut off when he came out and said it. And once the words were finished coming out of his mouth, she stared at him. Her stare turned into a hard, cold glare. "You.... you... what?" She finally managed to say in a sort of whisper.

Flowers. Ella liked them all, truth be told. She was also pretty sure that telling Soph she preferred ice cream roses constructed by Alec Summers would be unhelpful. Still, she had seen one type she'd taken a particular interest in when she'd gone to the flower shop. She simply hadn't inquired about them because the mom comment happened and she'd run out the door in tears. Yup. So fun, that was. "Cymbidium Orchids are really pretty." And they had a bit of the blush tone, just like the bridesmaids dresses. "But really, whatever you and your mom come up with is okay with me. She's the expert on that type of stuff."
Ella dabbed at her suddenly teary eyes with a napkin and then smiled sheepishly. "Gosh, Soph, I'm crying already. This isn't a good sign!" But the soft laugh that followed showed she wasn't at all concerned. Happy tears here, see? She was overwhelmed by how happy she was. "I know it will be. I mean, as long as he shows up, I'll be happy." Really, truly.
Would it be mean to call her friend a liar? Probably. Still, Ella wasn't quite buying that, especially because of the smile Soph currently was wearing. "Suuuure. You should, y'know. Have a baby. I'm an excellent babysitter for future reference." Juuuuust saying, Soph. BABIES. The blonde was encouraging this fully. "Everyone? Merlin. Imagine? Should we give out tissues at the ceremony, then?" Overthinking now, Ella sipped thoughtfully on her drink.
Logan needed to get out of the office and clear his head. The case he had been reading up on had in the end just become a lot of words that had made no sense whatsoever. Having heard from Hazel about a nice bakery just outside the ministry in Muggle London Logan decided that this day was as good as any to try it. He slung a jacket on as he left the ministry building and headed out into the prelude to high summer in England.
Enjoying the warmth Logan ordered a sandwich, a latte and a blueberry smoothie, after paying he took his tray out into the sun to find somewhere to sit. It was a nice day out so it wasn't surprising that it was pretty crowded with people occupying most of the tables. His sister had warned him that it was a muggle establishment so he had hidden his wand from view.
After some browsing the blond young adult found an empty table that offered some shade. Putting his tray down Logan, sat down and stretched out his legs in front of him.

Having tasted all that the ministry cafes had to offer, Kai decided that it was high time she tried some place around the outside of the ministry. Though she normally wore colorful dress like robes at the ministry, while outside of it she favorite more muggle chic. Jeans with checkered Van's skate shoes and a belt to match, a black batman tank top and matching zip up hoodie. Yup, she was a nerd in whatever setting and it suited her just fine.
It was a good thing that she dressed casual, because she found a muggle establishment that looked appealing. Pequod? What a peculiar name....Perhaps it was French? Maybe they thought French just sounded fancy. New age bistro type lingo or something.....
She ordered a salad, a fruit cup, and an iced coffee. Yes it looked amazing! Now the hard part.....where should she sit? It looked positively packed, unfortunately. It didn't look as though there was such a thing as an empty table so she looked to see if there was one hidden anywhere. Hmm, there was one that had only one person. Maybe they were waiting for someone? Maybe they weren't and would be okay with sharing? She would never know unless she tried.
Walking up, she looked at the young blonde man sitting with his legs stretched out and gave him a big, bright smile. "Is this seat spoken for?" Please let her sit here big guy, cuz otherwise she was probably ground bound.

Logan was munching on his sandwich and sipping on his latte, as people came and left the little bakery. He had just started to read the first chapter in a muggle detective novel when the sun was blocked from view by a woman. Making no haste, Logan finished reading out the page before he raised his head to look up at the woman.
Regarding her he shook his head in response. "No the seat is not taken. Feel free to sit down." Drawing his legs back, Logan sat up straighter in chair. Taking another sip of his latte he asked "Do I know you from somewhere? You look familiar." The woman resembled one of the women who had taken over after Derek in the laboratory on level 3 but Logan wasn't 100% certain. This was a muggle establishment. It was not wise to talk to loudly about magical things such as the ministry of magic.

Jory didn't need the wave to greet him over to Ronnie's table. Merlin... she was closing in for a hug and a kiss. He thought he should move away but it was too late. Hugged and kissed he was while he stood there frozen and dazed. He returned neither because how could he?
After breaking the news to Ronnie, he silently watched her expression. It went from a concerned and slightly worried one to one of daggers. The Auror flinched. Did she really want to repeat what he just said? "I think you heard it the first time, Ronnie,'' he told her gently and leaned forward. "I'm sorry. It just happened." Jory had not expected that but it was what it was.
It was lunchtime and Andrew decided to take his lunch break away from the office. It was a shame that none of his coworkers wanted to join him but some of them mentioned nearing deadlines and working through lunch which the 25 year old found to be very lame but whatever. He was caught up on his own work and did not plan on hanging around to do more work on his break.
Andrew headed into the cafe and bakery, never having been there before. He wasn't completely sure if it was a magical or muggle place, knowing that it wasn't far from the Ministry of Magic but also fairly certain that there were a lot of muggle establishments in that area as well. But reaching the counter, there was no longer any question. The prices on the menu board were in muggle money.
Eh. He didn't normally carry much of that, but did happen to have some on him today as he knew sometimes he needed that to blend in. Ordering a chicken salad sandwich and tea, he soon found a seat and opened up a magazine to mildly entertain himself.
