O;ADHEWFDHWFIHFIHERFHEFEBVBFVJBFLJKHFKLEHRFLHF Ember couldn't even FUNCTION properly right now. NOOOO. She could NAWTTTT. She entered the little cafe looking SOO nice right now. She had tried super hard to look normal and presentable--even going so far as making her hair its natural color for a day--and she was even wearing like--a cute dress and stuff. AH. She felt pretty, yes, and like such an adult right now. It was great. Why did she care so much? hmm. She didn't even know? GOSH. Dmitry was just a friend. JUST. A. FRIEND. She was all blushy even HAVING these weird thoughts about him-he was older, smarter, MORE MATURE--Russian. Pureblood. Like a lot of things that Ember just wasn't. SIGH. She chose a table near a window and glanced around. The cafe didn't have like, a waiter or anything--you went and stood in line for food. So it was casual. But it was also very cute--so this was appropriate for a friend date, RIGHT? She had even called and asked her MOTHER for advice on this--EMBER HAD BEEN SO CAREFUL UGH. She was never this serious or careful about anything and dhwifhifheirhfgg she was freaking out on the inside. >_< She leaned back in her chair and pulled out her phone, sending a quiiiiick text to her friend back in Dublin saying she would call her after the...friend date thing. There were no crushes on Dmitry here, NOOOPE.... >_> |
SPOILER!!: yes, HORRIBLE taste lol Why....was....he....oh, okay, so he DID know what a handshake was. All awkwardness aside, Willy wasn't going to mention how weird that had been. He was just happy, like REALLY HAPPY, that the Healers were gone. "Interesting," he chuckled nervously, secretly relieved that the Undersecretary HADN'T set up a wedding date for him. Whew. He dodged an unforgivable curse there. Good thing they wouldn't be around to get in his way or tie him up anymore. Heh. "But aren't you dating one of those Touchers and Tacklers?" he mused, finishing off his delicious soup and setting the bowl to the side. William worked on his sandwich next. Ommm. "You should get one of these combos," he mentioned, pointing to the sandwich too. |
He was running late. Of course he was running late. Just because he wanted to make a good impression it would be the day that he couldn't get there on time. Well, technically it was because he wanted to make a good impression. He'd worn his good jeans, which was all well and good but he'd been unable to pick out a shirt, because he wanted one which preferably didn't have cat hair all over it. Which he'd managed to find crushed in the back of his closet. So then he'd had to iron it and time had just gotten away from him.Luckily though his hair looked good ruffled and it had been easy to throw on his leather jacket and some black boots. Not that he knew why he was so concerned with making a good impression. This wasn't a date. Just a meeting between friends, which would probably be a date if Ember wasn't so much younger than him because he would have asked her out properly. Pushing the door to the cafe open Dmitry looked at his watch again. It was only ten minutes past the time they agreed to meet. So he wasn't too late. Hopefully Ember wouldn't hold it against him. Biting his lip nervously Dmitry looked around in an attempt to locate his not!date. His eyes actually sweeped over Ember without recognition before doubling back at the realisation that the girl with the normal coloured hair was her. She looked different, more mature maybe? She definitely looked beautiful though. Dmitry allowed a charming grin to take up residence on his face as he slipped into the seat opposite Ember. "Sorry I'm late. I hope you weren't waiting long. You look beautiful today by the way," he told her as he took his jacket off, placing it on the back of his chair. |
SPOILER!!: MIMI GAH. He was here. MIMI WAS HERE. ededhwehfifhiwhfifhifh Ember didn't want to seem TOO excited so she just looked back down at her phone...and waited. And waited. And waited some MORE--what was taking him so LONG to come sit------OH. She looked up when she heard his voice and BEAMED her biggest Ember smile EVERRRR. "Hi, M--Dmitry." She had to avoid saying what she called him in her head, yeah. "Nope. Not too long, love," she said with a wink and then pushed him a menu. "Lots of ordinary things here...unlike that weird pizza we got last time-" she giggled and couldn't ignore the giddiness she felt now. UGH. He thought she looked beautiful? Ember blushed but smiled in the most genuine way possible--and she tucked a loose strand behind her ear SHYLY. "Oh..um..thanks, Dmitry..you look snazzy, too. Quite handsome, actually." She said with a very....girly giggle. OOPS. Was the crush still not here---YEP NO CRUSH HERE NOPE. "We don't have to worry about being back to work on time today, either because...well...it's Saturday." DUH. She chuckled and looked down at her own little menu. What to get? Hmm? |
SPOILER!!: Em "You can call me Mitya if you want," Dmitry offered, taking not when Ember seemed to stumble over his name. Or rather, go to call him something other than his given name. But he wouldn't draw full attention to it by asking what she'd been about to call him. Telling someone they could call you be a nickname was at least a little more natural and less likely to embarrass Ember for her slip, right? "Good. I'd be a terrible person if I'd left you waiting too long." His mére would probably say he was simply fashionably late and there was nothing wrong with that. But she'd also told him that he should never keep a girl waiting. He was assuming that rule still applied to friend!dates. And was that a wink? "HEY! Don't diss the Pizza. Besides, if I recall that was actually your idea, and quite tasty," Dmitry exclaimed, mock offended on the Pizza's behalf. "Also, I feel I should warn you now that I've conveniently 'lost' my wallet for the rest of the day." He hadn't really, it was in his back pocket but he couldn't help but tease Ember just a little about the way they first met. Especially since she'd brought up the Pizza. Oh. She was giggling. That was Snazzy? "Is snazzy good?" Dmitry asked, giving her a warm, but confused smile. He may be fluent in English but he'd never had a need to use the word snazzy before. Handsome he understood and it caused a slight blush to rise on his cheeks. "Thanks." Following Embers example Dmitry looked down at the menu, skimming it briefly before focussing on his not!date once more. "We don't have to worry too much about time, no. But I do have to pick up my godson this afternoon so I can't stay too long," Dmitry informed Ember regretfully. When they'd settled on today for their lunch date he'd sort of forgotten all about the fact that he was meant to be taking care of Étienne for the night. He'd only actually remembered the fact last night when he'd gotten the call reminding him of his godfatherly duty."We have a few hours though before I need to leave," he added, just in case Ember thought he was actually trying to get out of having lunch with her by mentioning other responsibilities. |
SPOILER!!: MITYA Ember liked Mitya. It was cute! So cute. She smiled. "What does Mitya mean?" she asked curiously. cute. CUUUUTE. She chuckled and decided that she might want to try a chicken salad...or something. She shifted in her seat, crossing her ankles and being all...lady like and whatnot. "I wish I had a cute nickname like that, though." Alas, she didn't. Just EMBER. "Except this one guy at work--I think he's an Accidents' guy--keeps calling me Amber. I don't have the heart to tell him he's saying it wrong." She sighed and smiled. Derek was a sweet guy, and just very...awkward. But Ember was trying to help him! "Don't worry. You aren't terrible, now. Whooh." She said and she leaned back in her chair, folding her arms and glancing around. A good few people were here. It was a sign that the food was good, right? "That pizza WAS delicious..and hey--it was so your idea, sir--" she teased RIGHT back and gave his leg the lightest of all taps from her foot. Kicking was out the question, yes. "But we can't eat strange food every time we hang out--I refuse to let THAT be our thing--" she blushed. 'Our' thing sounded...couple-y? Didn't it? Mehh. Whatever. Let him take that however. HA! He thought he was SOOOO funny? Ember grinned--wickedly--and snorted. "Oh? You've forgotten your wallet? Well I have, too. I guess we should just leave now--" and she made to stand up but quickly burst into laughter and sat back down, leaning forward and flicking his shoulder. Because apparently adults could do that. Ember said adults could do ANYTHING SO HA. "And I had really lost my wallet--don't be mean--" she pretend pouted. Whaaaat? He didn't know what snazzy meant? Well, he WAS Russian, right? "Snazzy is very good, my good sir! It means well put together and nice looking. And Handsome." She said with a grin, nodding away. And then, all at once, before she could even CONTROL it--her face fell. She nodded. "Right--yeah--" and she tried to, you know, not look so sad. "Your godson? Okay." She wondered why he would have said yes to this..if he had to pick up his godson? Hmm. A girl's brain always over-thought this stuff. She looked down at her menu again and tried to decide what to drink...she might get an iced tea or something. Tea in general. Tea. At least he had a few hours? |

Ah and he brought up that valid point. "I am." He confirmed with a single nod before sparing another glance at the line. Slowly it was getting to a decent size. Soon there would b enough space to ensure no one was touching. "Doesn't mean I'm into that sort, just I got used to it, like I got used to children that don't understand space." Go ahead and mention the word space to Avery, explain the concept to her and see how long it takes to get her crying. "You ever been a fan of Law Enforcement, William?" Just a curious question while they were at it. Gavin eyed the combo being suggested. It didn't look half bad at all. "I'll...have my PA run down to get me one-where'd you say you got it again?" |
Quote:
So. Let's talk about Gavin's poor relationship choices instead. "I see." She must have been persistent, he imagined. Probably a touch more persistent than Alysson.... was he, William, a fan of law enforcement? He let out a fake laugh at that. "Never, not really, I'll admit." He bit into his sandwich and chewed carefully. "Wait, don't tell me, that's against the law too?" To not like the law made you an instantaneous criminal, didn't it? "Right here," he thumbed over his shoulder, "just tell your assistant," how lucky he was to have one, "to get you a seven." Wait, was João his assistant? Heh heh. |
Abby walked into Pequod Café and Bakery with a mischievous smile on her lips. Being back into the Ministry made that to her, she had missed it dearly and now the anticipation was killing her. She had so much knowledge to share that at times she felt like her head was about to burst. Not to speak of the thousands of pages she carried right at that moment too, as long as the organic material she was able to retrieve. But first she needed a cup of strong coffee to get her energy boost She pulled the gigantic bag with her to a near by table, dropping it by her feet with a muffled sound. She then proceeded to seat herself and look around. Aaaah muggles.. she took in her surroundings smirking down at the table as she reached for a menu. Being in Egypt only surrounded by wizards and witches did a trick on her so it felt reaaaally good to breath in some non-magical-air. Her clothes were transfigurated so they would look ordinary: jeans, sweater and a blazer. But her witch clothes were much nicer, since she was wearing the robe that the inhabitants of the village she stayed at made specially for her -which was a chocking tone of purple. If one looked at her, one could see the freshly done tattoo on her collarbone through the neckline of her sweater. It was starting to itch a little, but she didn't pay attention to it. |

Once his latte was acquired he strolled through looking for a seat. Daaaaang it was packed. Sighs. There was a free seat at a table... but it was a grey haired old lady. Sighs. Making his way over he did his best 'I'm a lovely young man smile' .. and then he stepped in front of her and his jaw dropped. YOWZA. quickly catching himself he shut his mouth and smiled. "Mind if I have a seat? You see all the other tables are full..." And you're hot. Mhm. |
Quote:
"Er.." she stuttered for a second "Sure sure, please" she pulled her gigantic-back-breaking-bag closer to her and gave the stranger a smile that she could only hope to be muggle and inocent. Dang it, being two years with only wizards suddenly made her very aware that she wasn't really good at keeping a low profile. She looked at him from the corner of her eye as she resumed her task of pulling out her coin pouch now much quicker than before snapping her bag open and close in a matter of seconds. Was he good looking or was it just her eyes ? Noup, he was good looking. She could see a couple of girls in a table nearby looking over their shoulders and giggling. Ah-ha! I'm sitting with the hottie! She could smell something sweat and good coming from his cup, taking a deep breath in and almost tasting it in the back of her throat she asked " what is that you're having, if you don't mind me prying..? |
Had he heard laughter coming from her bag? Hehe. Either her mobile had a ridiculous ringtone oooor she was not what most people in the cafe thought she was. Interesting. Sliding into a seat beside her he smiled and then cast a glance behind them. What the? Giggling girls? Well it had happened before. Ehm. Eyeing his cup he held out for her to get a better smell of it. "It's a pumpkin something or other. Sounded good... would you like to try it?" He'd totally drink after a stranger. Guys were gross like that, weren't they?! "If you like it I might be inclined to order another just so I can steal a bit more of your time." Mhm. He would like that. |
Quote:
Her eyes were curious as she leaned her head to the side in amusement. Well that's interesting. "Are you offering to buy me that pumpink-drink ?" she was all in if that meant free beverages "I might take you up on that... and the company" plus she was feeling good because the giggling girls were now sending her dead glares. A smirk crept to her lips. From the corner of her eye she saw her bag twitch a little, barely noticeable, but she pretended to kick it by accident anyway. |
Nose scrunching... "I haven't drunk from the cup yet..." If that was what she was thinking. He'd not mind swapping some spit, but eh whatever. And.. he noticed something from the corner of his eye... her bag moved... AND THEN SHE KICKED IT! He was fairrrrrly certain she was a witch now. After all several MoM workers, like himself, frequented this place. HAHAHAHA. Nodding slightly he leaned closer and motioned her closer with a twitch of his head. "Might wanna be quicker kicking that bag next time, sweetheart. And don't worry... I work in the Ministry. Just a helpful hint." And well... if she WASN'T a Muggle that was a rather innocuous comment. Mhm mhm. |
Quote:
She put on her most innocent look, big gooey eyes and pretended not to understand what he was saying. "Wha-What? My foot slipped and I accidentally kicked my bag, that's all..." she glanced confusedly between him - whose name she still didn't know - and the bag " And you work at the Ministry? You mean the Government ? Why are you telling me that, are you famous? What's your name?" She bit her bottom lip in order not to laugh, but it was really fun to interact with someone other than her own mind for a change. |
Perhaps she was a Muggle after all... but those big eyes and that look screamed LIAR. Not that he was going to say that to her. "Well then, my mistake." LIAR? He ignored most of the questions and extended his hand. "Patrick McAllister. And yes I am famous. Why do you think those girls have been looking at you the way the were?" DUH. Straightening his tie with one hand he set the latte in front of her and winked. She was definitely good looking... he wondered idly if he should offer to take her out sometime. |
Quote:
"Abbigail Lewis, nice to meet you" she pondered about his question " because I'm a gorgeous devil I guess.." she answered with a shrug and a smirk, snatching his latte from the table and taking a sip. That thing actually was really good. Talk about mood swings.. She giggled. She ACTUALLY GIGGLED at his wink. What is wrong with you? she could tell he wasn't falling for her Bambi eyes which she knew was somewhat impossible. Everybody loved her Bambi look. She composed herself after the short giggle fit and eyed her bag once again. There it was twitching like a maniac. She stepped on it lightly and hunched froward signaling him to come closer with her finger. |
Patrick quickly pulled her hand toward him and laid a swift kiss across her knuckles before releasing it. "Lovely to meet you, Abbigail Lewis." OOOH! She was giggling. How cute was that? Super cute is how cute! SUPER. Rawrr. Sitting back in his seat her crossed one leg over the other lazily and then... she was crooking a finger at him? Quirking a brow he leaned in closer, eyes locked on hers. Intriguing. Simply enchanting. |
Quote:
"You know what I am, and I really need to go and store what's inside my bag" she looked from one of his eyes to the other "I'll catch you later, or maybe you can find me" She stood up, winking at him and grabbing her bag in hand, walking towards the door. But before she disapeared she looked over her shoulder one last time and said to him "I'll find you if you don't hurry" Yes, very mysterious and unpredictable, just like the Unspeakable she was. |
Coffee. Sweet, blessed, lifesaving coffee was all Dmitry could think about as he took a seat in the cafe and waited for his drink and scone. He'd woken up too late this morning to grab a cup before he left home and he now felt like he was running on fumes and needed a nice caffeine hit to perk him up again. It also probably didn't help that the first few days back from a holiday tended to be the hardest. At least when it came to adjusting to getting up early again. When he and Aleksandr had been in Romania they hadn't been on any set timeline so had just gotten up whenever they wanted. Now that he was back in England however he had to get used to getting up much earlier than he truthfully liked to get to work at what he considered a decent time. It would probably be easier if he just flooed to work, but since he was taking classes afterwards in muggle areas it just made more sense to drive or catch the tube, depending on how late he'd be out. Maybe he should just move closer to work? But he liked his apartment so probably not. Dmitry sighed happily when his coffee was delivered, sipping at it appreciatively. Now to wait for the caffeine to kick in. |
Emily seldom had reason to stop and sit in a cafe, the exception to this was when Gavin was present - and that was only because he insisted she take her whole break instead of working through or multitasking. But today, she could do as she pleased, and so with that in mind she got her coffee and cinnamon scroll to go. To go meant she didn't have to subject herself to the company of people unless she so desired it. It also mean that she didn't have to sit as half cleaned tables, flicking other peoples crumbs to the floor. On top of that, there would be no muggles where she would go, and the only reason she bothered with this place, was for the excellent pastries. In the time she stood waiting for her order to be filled, she ran a mental checklist on things that needed doing, appointments and places to be. Perhaps she would be needing to take her full break today. Emily mumbled a short thank you to the attendant that handed over her paper bag and coffee cup, and made to return to the Ministry. On her way through the seating area, she realised she recognised the back of a head, and as she neared him her suspicions were confirmed. "Hello stranger," she greeted, "mind if I join you?" If she was going to sit amongst muggles she would not be doing it alone. |
Dmitry had just started in one his scone, leaving the coffee to maybe get a little bit cooler, and began people watching, when he was interrupted by a familiar voice. Although it did take him a few seconds to place it, not having expected to see Emily here. Not that he could say why he hadn't since the place was frequented by wizards and muggles alike. "Emily," he replied with a grin. Now that he had coffee in him he was much more up to socialising. "Of course I don't mind." Sitting with an acquaintance was much more pleasurable than having a stranger approach him to share a table. That had happened before and the experience hadn't been pleasurable. Although, he supposed not all meetings with strangers were bad, since everyone started out that way... "How have you been?" Dmitry asked as he made room on the table for Emily's things, which appeared to be of the takeout variety. Hmm, maybe he wasn't so far off with thinking it was strange for her to be here. Looked like she hadn't actually been planning to sit. It was nice though that she seemed to have spotted him and changed her mind. |
There were no objections, and so she sat, quite happily. "Thank you, I was planning on eating through work, but then I saw you here..." and so an approach was hardly surprising. It was a sociable thing, and she did those sometimes - like today. Smiles. As for how she'd been, well, that was a loaded question. "Well enough," she replied shortly, of course she wasn't the type to be very forward with her personal life, and work too was sensitive, but there was plenty to be said about how she'd been. "Busy as always, of course, but managing just fine." At this point she took a sip of her coffee, before gesturing toward him with her cup as she lowered it to the table. "Yourself? How's life treating you?" And her pastry. It could not and would not be forgotten. Emily unscrunched the top of the paper bag and pulled out the cinnamon scroll, resting it on top while taking another sip of her coffee. |
"You shouldn't eat through lunch. It's important to take time away from your desk," Dmitry opined, blushing slightly when he realised that he sounded a bit like his mére and that it was also none of his business. "It's good that you decided to be sociable though," he finished, giving Emily his own smile and hoping that he hadn't come across as strange. Sometimes he should think more before he spoke. Dmitry sipped at his coffee, it was luckily a bit cooler now, as she answered his question. He furrowed his brows slightly, confused by her tone and wondering if he'd asked the wrong thing. Only she said things were fine, not that either of them were likely to share with each other if things weren't fine. Note to self, don't ask Emily how she's been next time. "That's good," Dmitry said lamely, picking at his food a bit and not knowing what else to say on the subject. He'd ask her about work but he didn't figure she'd really answer. "Things are good. I enjoyed the break, got to spend some time in Romania. I've never been before so it was nice. Spent some time babysitting my godson and I'm learning a few more languages. That's mostly for fun but I figure it could help at work as well," Mitya explained with an easy grin. Mentioning things he'd done was easy enough, especially when the things he'd been doing lately weren't something that any of the Muggles in the café would find strange. |
Treating himself. That's what he was here for. Just treats. He didn't do those often. He liked to keep healthy after all. And one couldn't eat too many treats and be as devilishly handsome as he was. It just wasn't how the human body worked. So he grabbed a danish of some sort as well as a coffee and took a seat. After paying for it.... obviously. C'mon. We're not a criminal. Tsk tsk. He propped his feet up on the table next to him, earning some glares from the staff but he wasn't exactly the type to care what people thought nor was he the kind to do as he'd been told. Shooting cheeky grins at the help, the boy pulled out a newspaper, the muggle kind- cool your jets, and flipped it open on the table as opening it as they did was far too much trouble for twenty year old. |
