She agreed, albeit, not as enthusiastically as he had hoped. "Oh, you know, have that lasagna for dinner on Saturday. If it's cool with you, of course." He said, slightly doubtful of this arrangement. Maybe Helena could join them, too? It'd help avert any awkward moments . . . and it wouldn't hurt to have Nikki bonding with his wife. In fact, it might help in the long run. |

"Err . . . yeah, your place at five-ish? Six-ish?" He said, an uncertainty to his tone. He'd have to come by her place earlier, seeing how he'd be playing chef for the evening. Also, he would need to go shopping for the ingredients. Hmm. "Well, see you on Saturday." Her waved at her lamely, smiling like the idiot he was before he went in his intended direction, away from her and out of the cafe. Goodbyes were always weird. |
Text Cut: Ell-yet xD The look Elliot gave her freaked her out a bit, but Sophie kept a poker face when the former Ravenclaw gave her a kiss on the cheek. In no time, Sophie was sitting across from the girl and eyeing the little baby that was with her and who was... staring at her. Eep. Sophie didn't consider herself particularly good with children, but she was relieved when the little boy smiled and waved at her. She returned but the smile and wave before glancing back at Elliot. It was probably easier to deal with the toddler than it was to talk to Elliot... but Sophie would do her best. Apparently the blonde was good with kids then? Sophie watched as she tried to teach Hudson to say their names. Max's kid!? Merlin's beard. Not Ellito's kid, though. Right. She thought she remembered something about that from a letter. Sophie didn't remember details though, but it was probably because Elliot didn't give her any. "You're um... babysitting for him? Or uh... do you live together now?" The former badger asked. She didn't sound as nervous as she used to whenever she spoke to Elliot back in Hogwarts, right?? She hoped not. "That's nice." sdklfjsnjkldnjfk small talk with Elliot was HARD. But the blonde wanted to jump right in, she said. What did she want to talk about?? Oh, it was about the food. Okay, right. Sophie could deal with that. "I'll um..." Sophie started, but stopped when Elliot said she was paying. Whaat! Nooo! But... the tone her... 'friend' (?) used made Sophie just stare with her usual poker face and accept it without complaining. Nope, she didn't want to argue with Elliot. Not after they stopped being frenemies. Enemies? She didn't even know anymore. "Okay." Poker face. "Thanks... I'll have a... chicken salad sandwich, please." .....Merlin, she wished she would stop feeling so awkward. It was about time she grew out of that! It was just....... Merlin, it was Elliot. The girl who was really good friends with Hannah Lockwood and disliked Sophie's blood status. She wondered what Elliot truly thought of that, but that was something she'd never ever ask. Instead, she looked back at the little boy and gave him a small smile. See, so much easier to deal with him... Merlin. |

She smiled anyway, and took a seat without verbally accepting her offer. Why waste words when she could answer by putting her bottom on a seat. Eli took another sip of her coffee and tore the paper bag of sweets open a little more to get a better view of the contents. OOOH WHITE CHOCOLATE MICE! Yuuuuum. |
SPOILER!!: SoapsSOAPS Elliot just smiled. "Well. I live with him, yes. " Blah blah, complicated matters at hand! "He...he needs a lot of help with the baby because he started working for his dad," she snorted. Max did NOT need to work. Neither did she, but hey, she wasn't working right now, was she? "And I was really lousy with babies at first but--I love my Huds--" she said, and she pulled out a toy for the baby and let him play with it on her lap. She wanted to evil!snicker at the facials Soaps was giving her. She seemed scared to say anything that might set her off, but Elliot was in a very good mood right now, obviously. And no arguments about the payment? Good. "I'm sure you have enough expenses for yourself, and I have loads of gold just waiting to be spent for dumb reasons--" she said with a smirk and a chuckle. Huds clapped a little and babbled away--he could say 'Daddy' and many other words. Elliot leaned in, whispering in his ear.."Say, Soaps..." and she smirked almost evilly as the little boy just said the word without delay, a little slurred and whatnot, but Sophie would be able to tell. HEH. She loved the nickname. It was so cute...kind of. Hehe. "Okay--I'll be right back, darling--" she said, standing up quickly, pulling Hudson with her, resting him on her hip. She went to order Soaps her chicken salad and herself another type of salad..without meat...it didn't take long to prepare, either, and Elliot held onto both salads AND Huds as she came back. "They'll be coming with our drinks in a second.." she said, and then her eyes widened...oh no...she had said chicken sandwich not SALAD. Elliot could have headdesked RIGHT THERE. "Fraaaaack--" she set Hudson down in the chair and siiiiiiiighed. "Well--let me go fix that--Huds--stay and DON"T move--" yes, very bad parenting, blah blah--but she felt embarrassed, honestly...so she ruuuushed back to the counter to order a sandwich. Well now, this was fun. And now Elliot was STRESSED because she had done something WRONG. Ugh. Once she had th sandwich IN HAND she sat back down, Huds on her lap, and pushed the sandwich to Sophie. "There. Ugh. Did they at least bring our drinks?" she asked, glaring at the counter. She was now...in a not so great mood... |
The need for a good cup of coffee and a scone had Dmitry braving the crowds during his break. Even though he could get coffee in the break room on level five it just wasn't the same as what the Pequod served. It unfortunately also meant that he was standing at the back of a rather long line of muggles and wizards alike. The only consolation was that there were no screaming children to be found. If there had been Dmitry would have decided against walking into the store and simply headed to some chain coffee shop or something. His eyes shot down to his watch once again as the line slowly moved forwards and yet another person gave a complicated coffee order. He'd be lucky if he was even near the front of the line when his break ended. Although perhaps if be bought coffee and scones for everyone else they'd forgive him for being back late? |
Text Cut: Bwahahaha ohmyword xD Max started working for his dad? "Oh? What exactly does he do?" Sophie asked, not really curious, but that was... you know, polite to ask. And a way to try and not be that awkward with the situation. Why were them both having lunch together again?? Sophie really had no idea... Elliot loved her...Huds? She wondered if she had adopted the kid as her own then. maybe she had? Or not. Elliot probably just considered the baby hers because of... whatever had happened to the kid's real mother. The former Hufflepuff remembered the girl mentioning something about... death in her letter. Maybe it was best not to bring this up. "That's nice... of you." Sophie attempted a smile and luckily she managed it alright! At least it didn't feel like such an awkward smile that time. The brunette blinked at Elliot's explanation why she was going to pay for the lunch. Loads of gold. Uh... okay, this time Sophie felt like her smile was completely awkward. It was ust really weird how pretty much most of the things Elliot said sounded like boasting. "Hehe... okay..." ...Some more awkward smiling for you, Elliot. Hehe.... he...... =| Sophie's face went from awkward to her usual poker face when Hudson said 'Soaps' rather loudly for a little boy. The badger felt her face turn red, but he was just a baby so she'd smile. Awkwardly again, of course, but it was a smile nonetheless. "How old is he again?" ...Small talk once more. Sophie could do this, yes. She would relax and breathe normally again once she was out of there, mhm. But she got this. It was okay. It was all good. Once Elliot went to order their food, Sophie looked around nervously and hoped time would go by faster. She gulped a few times and tried her best to think of random topics they could talk about. Elliot and herself had NOTHING in common, though!! What could they even talk about??? Merlin, help her! The girl bit her lip when Elliot came back with a salad. "No, it's-" She started after Elliot noticed she ordered the wrong thing. She would eat it, it was okay, but the former Ravenclaw was already going back to the counter to ge the right thing. The way she spoke to the baby made Sophie more nervous than she already was, If Elliot was in a good mood earlier, now that had definitely changed. Oh, Merlin, help heeeerrrrrrrr! Sophie tried to act normal and shrug and smile at Hudson while Elliot was away. The girl came back just to make her more nervous by asking about their drinks, which hadn't come yet. "I'll go get them." The former Hufflepuff said immediately, getting up and rushing to the counter herself. skldfnsdklfjsdnkjlfsnkfjsdnfjkldsnflkjdsnjkdlsnfkj She needed to calm down big time. Calm down, Sophie, it's okay. It's just Elliot. The girl who once poured tea all over her and made fun of her blood status and teased her about SO MANY THINGS and dskfjnsdkfjndskjf WHY was she even THERE??? Well, she actually stuck with Sophie when Oakey broke up with her. ....Maybe Elliot wasn't so bad after all. The thought made Sophie a bit |

Sky needed coffee she just couldn't deal with the rest of the day with none. The babies had been making sure that no sleep was gotten for either of its parents. So coffee would be her savior. It was a long line but that meant the coffee was good. Looking past the long line and then back at her watch looks like she would be late. But her boss would have to deal she needed a coffee. Looking at the person in front of her she asked, "Hi, so here for some coffee?" Small talk, might as well looked like she would be here for a while. |
Quote:
Sigh. Why couldn't she just deal with being a pleasant sociable person? "Sorry, I'm a prosecutor..it's in my blood to talk like that." That was the right thing to do then. Wasn't it? Apologize politely? Well hopefully. A sip of her coffee was taken a long with a quick breath. Date one? Ugh. Why did it have to turn into that sort of a topic. "If you can date one." Her words were slightly quieter. She had been on dates, alright but none had really worked after her big break up. "I've had quite enough of men, I'd rather just leave them as friends." Which did not mean she liked the other gender, just that she needed a break of the relationship thing all together. |

Blinking a few times Dmitry let the silence drag on for probably longer than was polite before answering the lady, still not entirely sure that he wouldn't be making a fool of himself for doing so. "And scones, they're very good. But yeah, mainly I'm here for the coffee," he said, giving the lady a hesitant grin. "I assume that's what you're here for as well." Or at least she sure looked like she could do with a hit of caffeine. |
SPOILER!!: all this LOVERLY-NESS xD Elliot stabbed a piece of lettuce with her fork. Violently. Some of the wetness inside of it squeezed out when she did it, too, but she just ate it anyways. Stupid salad. "His dad started a PI business--private detective--" she clarified,in case Soaps wasn't super bright in that department. "Max works for him now..helps him out and stuff." She shrugged and continued eating. She put her fork down for a second to lean over and grab a chair from another table and call the waiters over to get her one of those boosters--and then she set Hudson into it, and smiled, grabbing some toys from her purse and placing them in front of the toddler. He was babbling away, mostly real words, and some sentences, but nothing major. And nothing Elliot hadn't heard from him, before, either. She noticed Sophie wasn't really...talking. But Elliot didn't really blame her. She had been so rude to Sophie back in the day. Hmm. She hated apologizing. So she wouldn't. But the stupidity of youth...did it really need an apology? "He's about a year and a half now...he's very good with words already, so I have high hopes for him," she was all beamy, now, because they were on her favorite topic------HUDSON. "I mean, I may not be his birth mother, but I'm the one he asks for at night, before bed..it irks Max but-" she shrugged. What could you do? She was getting over the whole...mistake thing(this didn't happen often!) and sipped her tea when it came. "Thanks, Soph," she said softly and just ate in a content fashion for a few more..quiet minutes. Sophie was STILL not chatting. But that was fine, Elliot thought it was hard to talk and eat at the same time, anyways. Not to mention very rude and gross. Her blue eyes blinked a lot as she thought of a certain time at Hogwarts she had never forgotten..."Hey, Sophie?" she asked quickly. She sipped some more tea--her lips had gone dry-- "Do you remember that time, at school, when you found me in the bathroom crying?" she asked. IT was either her third or fourth year...she doubted it was fifth since she had Max then, but who knew? She smiled at Sophie. "I never forgot that." And she hadn't. It had been a low point, a vulnerable point, and Sophie could have been so MEAN to her, and hadn't been. "I was a knucklehead--still am--but I don't forget things like that easily..." she offered her another genuine smile and just continued plowing into that salad as if it were real food. |
Kinda small sorry on my phone. Quote:
He looked like he noticed that she had spoken to him. But then he was silent... "Scones, those are good. Never had them with coffee though. Are they any good with it?" She should try it sometimes. She gave him a small smile. "Yes I am in dire need of it." She needed some caffeine! |
That's fine. I understand not typing long posts on a phone Quote:
"They taste fine with coffee, I mean they're better with tea obviously but right now I need more of a caffeine kick than tea will give me," he explained, shrugging slightly. Besides it wasn't like he dunked the scone into the coffee. You could eat them with anything really. |
After purchasing her tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich, Ronnie found herself an empty booth by the window. Once she set her things down in front of her, she slid into the booth and took a glance outside, waiting for her new Ministry friend Alex to arrive. They had been seeing a lot of each other around the department so she thought it'd be nice to hang out outside of the Ministry, get to know each other a little better. She needed more friends there. As she waited, she took a few spoonfuls of her soup. |

Text Cut: Oh yes, absolutely xD Sophie blinked and gulped imperceptibly when Elliot stabbed her lettuce. She then realised she had held her breath and sloooowly started breathing again as the former Ravenclaw explained her what Max was doing now. "Oh. That sounds... nice." She didn't even KNOW if she thought private detective was nice, but it sounded like the right thing to say. Because Sophie's brain apparently had stopped or something and she couldn't think properly. WHYYYYY did this have to happen everytime she spoke to Elliot, ughughughughuuugghhh!! ......."And what do you work with?" Oh!! She had managed a question! Oh phew! She didn't need to hate herself anymore. Small talk with Elliot. She had this. Sort of. Not really. The former Hufflepuff gave the little toddler another small smile when Elliot told her his age and almost chuckled at her following comment. Almost. Sophie didn't quite know if the girl was joking or if she was being serious, besides she was still feeling very nervous about the whole situation, so she didn't chuckle. "He's... very cute." She'd say that. Was that helpful? Useful in any way? Yes? No? Oh, Merlin. When Elliot sipped her tea, Sophie sipped her own drink too then looked around before finally taking a bite of her sandwich. She was chewing when the girl in front of her called her name and she almost chocked. But not really. Sophie shifted her gaze from her sandwich to... Elliot. "Hm?" 'Do you remember that time, at school, when you found me in the bathroom crying?' Sophie slowly nodded as she kept her eyes on Elliot. She wondered where this was going......... was Elliot going to threaten her for having found her?? OhMerlinhelpheeeerrrrrr!!!! Oh but... she was smiling? Huh? What? Sophie blinked a couple of times and swallowed. That was an actual, genuine smile too! Sophie could tell. Wow... maybe Elliot had changed after all. The brunette didn't quite know what to say, but she gave Elliot a much, much warmer smile. It didn't even have any hint of awkwardness either. "And um... I also remember when you kind of helped me move on when Oakey and I broke up." Sophie told her, not feeling bad about it anymore. It had been YEARS, after all, and she was now with her first crush, the looooooooooove of her life. djfnsjknfdjk <333333333 Ahem. Hehe. The thought of being with Mordred actually made Sophie feel a lot more comfortable, even though she was still sitting there with Elliot. Welp, maybe this time it didn't have to be that horribly awkward after all! "Thanks for inviting me for lunch, by the way." |
kinda' cute? SPOILER!!: Dawwww Elliot had calmed down, thank Merlin, and she nodded. "Yeah, it's nice sometimes when he doesn't have to work weekends or anything extra.." she sighed. Her next question, though, she sighed. "I don't work. I dropped out of Uni, too." Not from poor grades, either. Oh no. Elliot made PURRRFECT grades. She just...she wanted to be able to help Max to the best of her ability, which wouldn't have been possible if she had stayed in Moscow. It made her sad sometimes, but she didn't really regret her decision. She was happy where she was right now. Hudson was happily seated in his high chair, and Elliot smirked as she pulled out a container of baby!foods that he could eat on his own. Robbly was the one who told her what he could and couldn't eat. Elliot was still all new to this..baby business, and considering she had come late to the baby!party, she had no clue about half of the things HUdson needed. Robbly was there to help her and train her and stuff. Still, she was happy to be in this position. She felt like...such an adult. Maybe she was growing up, though...hmm. Weird. Hudson laughed a lot as he played with the little soft-baby!cookies and Elliot smirked. "Yes, he is. He looks like his mother, though...I get that he looks like me a lot, and then I have to explain I'm not his real mum--" she rolled her eyes. Though she DID enjoy hearing that he looked her...since he was SO darn cute and all! Hehehe. Oh. Soaps was being all silent. Had she said something majorly offensive on accident? Elliot was good at saying offensive things on purpose-- but saying offensive things on accident? This was new. She didn't like it. She'd rather knowingly crumble someone than accidentally--what was the fun in tha--oh. Soaps wasn't offended. Okay. Right. Okaaay--Oakey--"Yeah. Hey..you're lucky you're not with him..he has a kid now, right?" she smirked. It amused her OH so much that Ariana and Oakey had a KID. Then again, Max had one, too...but Max was...married. Ahem. "You always liked Mordred more, if I remember correctly, anyways," she said casually, eating some of her salad and sipping her tea occasionally. She smiled...again, genuinely. "No problem. " She raised her eyebrows and watched as Hudson knocked his sippy to the floor--which she instantly swooped down to pick up, making sure it hadn't touched the ground before setting it back in front of the blue-eyed child. |
Sorry about my major lateness. Quote:
Sky looked over at the counter again why were they ordering such complex drinks... All they should order is coffee and be done. She looked back at the random person she had spoken to. He was taking his time with all of his responses. Was this a muggle thing? She wasn't even a hundred percent sure that he was a muggle. She had a hard time seeing the difference between the two. "Ah I guess I will have to try it sometime." She looked over at the counter as a woman ordered five coffees. Must be for her co-workers. "My name is Sky Doherty by the way. So we won't be strangers any more." And then she would look like a normal person just talking to a person while waiting for coffee. It was normal. She was sure she saw some muggles do it, the last time she was here. |

Alex? Not that Ronnie knew of, but that would be fun! The three all having lunch together. They should start making that like a daily thing or something, wouldn't that be fun? Perhaps they would discuss it later at the Ministry. She gave Jazz a shrug. "I dunno, maybe she'll show up? I don't know where she gets her lunch but if we all had lunch together that'd be so fun!" she said excitedly. Oh and speaking of work and all. "What'd you think about the meeting, by the way?" she asked curiously. |
OH GOODIE. Just Jazz and Ronnie here, she just liked talking to her one on one. It was benefitting that way. She wanted to learn more about her partner. "Well that is good, I mean I wanna catch up with my girl.." she grinned. Oh? She did hear the stomach rumble. She grinned sheepishly and massaged her tummy. She may have heard Ronnie's tummy rumble. She wasn't the only one. And Alex wasn't here yet. Hmm...she thought she would be here. That was odd. Ah well! "I think we should plan with Alex next time. It would be nice to have all the girls here. Maybe invite other's from the department as well?" she suggested. Now onto the topic of the meeting! She smiled and nodded. She took a sip of her water. "Well the meeting was very informative. I mean the head knew what he was doing. He seemed like he had it all under control. He valued our opinions which I admired.." Now what did Ronnie think. "What did you think of the meeting?" |
FOR DENIZ who now has internet Louisa did not have a doubt in her that applying for an internship in the IWC was going to be easy, she was well aware that this was a big step. A big organization and a big competitive contest, she had it all figured out. Still, she was often stressed and longed for relaxing walks, and meditating by the lake with a light book in her lap. Today was no different. She'd gone into the ministry, did some papers and asked the employees some questions then headed out for a nice, hot cup of coffee and a scone. |
