Jorge’s eyes focused on Tori for a moment as he saw the flush. Why were women so easy to read and get to be in the palm of his hands. His smirk stayed on his lips as she tapped his hand. “My girlfriend is not the jealous type and she knows how I work.” He hoped she at least knew he was being faithful and his ways were being used just professionally. His eyes went back to the table that had Emily and Mariel to find Mariel gone. Had she left without him noticing? Well that would stink, he was hoping to leave with her. Glancing more he saw her standing at the counter. Maybe he’d get up for another coffee and buy her whatever she was planning on getting. His focus moved back to the redhead near him. Tour guide, well this could be something to keep in mind. “I was finding some difficulties in a few areas, so maybe I’ll have to take you up on that.” His last trip to knockturn alley didn’t go over very well, which was unfortunate because dark wizards he usually was able to get in good with, but in Spain his ex was a dark wizard herself, that might have been the ticket in. He glanced at the notebook and just smiled finishing off his sandwich. “I never need luck.” He had ever confidence that he always got what he wanted in life. Leaning back he was amused. Tori was so much like him, this was going to be a great team they could be together. “I can see that. You have many of my great qualities.” She knew though didn’ t she? He could tell by the way she acted. “I think we should team up for a few stories. We could probably bring down the entire ministry with our abilities to find information.” There were certainly plans forming in his head when he caught her doing something odd. His eyes followed her head and that’s when he saw Simon. A little close to Mariel don’t you think, but he just sat not trying to give it much thought, but it bugged him. Angelina was a nice girl and there Simon was at lunch with one and now chatting it up with Mariel. He assumed maybe they chatted often and he tried to tell himself they weren’t standing all that close, but he was going to start His eyes glanced at them, friendly, not really flirting though. No he knew flirting, so maybe he had nothing to worry about, but he didn’t like another guy talking to his girl. Though she probably talked to many men. She was the boss of a few he supposed, but Jorge still felt irritation over Simon talking to her. His coffee empty he thought about maybe going to get some more that way he could be closer, but there was still the Emily issue. He didn’t want to put Mariel in unneeded drama if Emily would start with him. For now he would stay where he was unless Simon gave him a reason to move. His thoughts broken by Tori talking again, “Yeah.. yeah.. just let me know and I’ll see what I can do.” He was totally distracted from whatever she had been talking about. |
It was quite an accomplishment to be recognized for one's hard work and dedication in the way she had been, wasn't it? Simon was awfully sweet to make it a point to say so and she'd graciously accept his words of praise. Her nearly complacent smile reflected that. But as he continued, she turned a little more fully towards him, green eyes narrowed a bit as she tried to work out what he meant. "Incident?" She made sure to keep her voice low in case it was something one of the muggle patrons shouldn't be privy to. It sounded quite interesting and she wasn't so sure she knew exactly what this incident was. Of course she hadn't been at the Ministry for more than a few years and she spent so much of her time there only on her level earning her promotion that even if this incident happened while she was there, she might not have heard about it. But someone in MLE might be more likely to know something of that nature anyway. Subconsciously, her green eyes followed Simon's gaze to the menu board. She wasn't sure why exactly as she had long since made up her mind on the two lattes and the cinnamon scrolls, but realized it was probably one of those instinctive things and didn't think much of it, instead noticing that the line hadn't moved at all before turning back to the man behind her as he spoke again. "I suppose a bit of celebrating did happen when I found out," she said, her smile growing as she grew lost in thought. And though she had gone out several times since then, none of it was specifically because of that, was it? That was a idea. "You're right," she grinned. "It is a big deal. I really should do something special to mark the occasion." |
SPOILER!!: Simon x2 Oh. Simon was afraid of overstaying his break. Sophie almost let out a giggle. And here she had been thinking up allergies or something as a cause for Simon’s reluctance towards sharing a scone with her. Her healer brain needed to take a break. Taking another coffee sip Sophie swallowed before responding. "I of course don't want to make you late getting back to work. Is your boss strict?" "I suppose your job is confidential but have you been in anything extra scary since you’ve started working in MLE?" Sophie asked curiously. It was fine if Simon evaded the question but it was something she had wondered about. How much truth was it to the stories she read in the Daily Prophet? Had there really been a disease at the ministry some years ago that had quarantined people for the own safety? Sophie only gave the brunette ministry worker a brief glance before focusing on her coffee again. When Simon stood up and excused himself Sophie nodded. "Sure, I'm not going anywhere." Taking up her magazine again she watched how Simon walked over to talk to the brunette. Opening her magazine Sophie engrossed herself in an article about some new scientific discovery. |
Simon almost raised an eyebrow as Mariel questioned the mention of incident but did his best not to arouse trouble. Didn't she know? It had been pretty expansive over the whole ministry and he had been pulled into the think of it by the likes of Izzy and Kyle. Memories that threatened caused the auror to absently shake his head to wave them off before doing his best to explain given their local. "Um...food from the cafeteria was making a lot of people act all...weird." He wasn't sure Zombielike would go unnoticed by the other patrons if they overheard. Okay, so that avenue had been gone down...or had it?. First the woman spoke of going out and then acted as it hadn't happened. Simon tried to figure out the underlining messages as they both moved up in the queue. "You really should," he agreed, glad she was starting to think the same way. "A nice night out....maybe someplace you haven't been before. It's certainly what I would do if myself or the woman I was with had gotten a promotion." Maybe even more so for his girlfriend since he'd be more proud of her then himself. Although he would actually have to have one and that didn't appear to be happening anytime soon. "I might even offer a lunch to a friend in...in some cases." |
Quote:
Difficulties.... hmm, now that sounded like a story for Tori. "Go on," she encouraged him, leaning forward a little and polishing off her pastry. Delicious, flaky pastry. No wonder so many Ministry employees were here... this bakery really had something going for it. "Do I?" she laughed again. "I can see that humility is one we definitely DON'T share." Both reporters liked to toot their own horn, so what? "I can go along with that," she nodded. "The place is already on the way down and out, with this Minister... and the lack of a secure, central location...." The British government was in the dumps. She was hoping some of these Ministry types were eavesdropping just now. She could tell Jorge was watching the blonde guy chatting up his girlfriend right now, so she leaned across the table a littttle more. "Are you going to do something about that?" she egged him on in a low tone. Not that Tori wanted trouble for Jorge, but well.... a good story was a good story. "I wonder what they're talking about..." If Jorge wasn't heading over there, she would! Hehe. |
Mariel watched Simon carefully as he started to vaguely explain, a very faint, understanding smile falling over her features as she realized what he was referring to. "Weird.. yes," she started with a nod. "That was right around or right before I started there, but yes, I know what you mean." She supposed he had been too generalized earlier and it had been quite a while ago. Though she remembered that horrible Dartanian Leroy who nearly attacked her when she had taken the tour of the Ministry. She might have almost felt sorry for him if he wasn't so arrogant. And when she had questions about what exactly was going on, there was that creepy Tyler who was more interested in trying to hold her hand than to give her any straight answers. Idiot. Best to put that whole time out of her memory and thankfully it had been resolved not long after she had started at the Ministry. Someplace she hadn't been.. she did like the sound of that. But honestly, she had been to a couple new places since then, even if they hadn't been specifically to celebrate her promotion. Did she really need something else? Her thoughts a million miles away, the brunette smiled at the thought of those nights out. "Oh, that's a lovely idea," she agreed a bit distractedly. "Might have to keep that in mind." But even if she didn't, she thought she had it well enough. Still rather lost in thought, green eyes snapped up to Simon at his next words, watching him carefully. "In some cases?" she questioned lightly, repeating his words back to him. Was he referring to her? |
Whelp.. Let the games begin! Jorge smirked, “We have it easy? Do you know how many hoops I’ve jumped through to get a girl to talk.” Not that he minded those hoops and favors, no he rather enjoyed them. Though some of those hoops were off limits now, but he could still work his magic pretty well. “I just don’t see you having much of a problem getting some sources and leads.” No her batting her eyes could get a good story out of some poor sucker. So she wanted the story, “In Spain I found it easy to get to know the ins and outs of dark wizards. An old girlfriend was one and her awful husband was one I liked to write stories on, but here they are way more suspicious of new comers it seems. One put a few hexes and curses on me.” He was bald with a wart and danced with a Goblin. Not the worse thing he had been through. “I’m going to take another trip there soon though.” He would find at least one acquaintance at some point in time. “You should have friends everywhere, it’s the best way to get the good stories.” Hence his newest friend would come in very handy. Right up with the minister, Joao would be very beneficial to him. He waved off reaction and words, “Deny if you wish, but I can see it.” The ministry was already going down, “Why not kick it while it’s down then, it’s the best time to find the best stories. With you and I working together I think we could really shake things up around here.” His eyes glanced at Emily, “Though she is one that might like you shaking things up more than me.” None of his magic worked on her, maybe Tori’s would. His eyes were starting to lock on Simon’s head. He was being super chatty with Mariel and about what? Work? Social? What was he getting at? Just move along, he really wondered if Angelina knew about his little lunch breaks now. His jealous side starting to try and creep up he twitched his wand hand, how easy it would be to hit him without him even seeing. His eyes turned back to Tori as she spoke, do something? Should he? It would uncover them being there and make Emily super suspicious, and it would probably ruin whatever ties Mariel had with Emily since they were together. It was a hard situation and he fully saw the hardship he was faced with dating a department head. It was going against everything he was working on, but he cared for her and he was trying to keep them separate. Eyes moving back to Simon just as he saw a reaction from Mariel. He had read people’s faces long enough to figure things out and Mariel’s face showed that he had just asked something she wasn’t sure about, or was surprised about. Was he making a move on his girlfriend. “I’m going to do something right now.” He got up with one swift movement and made his way quickly towards the front counter. Mariel facing him would probably see him coming Simon not well would soon see him. As he approached he shoved Simon away from Mariel, “Is he bothering you?” His first question was to Mariel and a quick kiss on the cheek before turning towards Simon. “Kind of funny MLE all around on breaks, no wonder criminals get away so easily. Seems to me the Aurors are too busy hitting on other people’s girlfriends.” His smirk was on his face and he was ready to hex this man’s face off if he didn’t leave Mariel alone. |
So she was aware of what he was refering to and didn't have to go into heavier detail. Good. It was an uncomfortable topic for most, deeply for himself, and he wasn't really in the mood to dig up old ghosts. Even if he had been the first one to mention it. Simon had meerly been making an observation in answer to Mariel's comment about ministry being plentiful in these parts. Surely he himself felt better being outside the speciality area and its tainted cafe after the incident...why shouldn't others? There was further reaction from the woman, his own words echoed back at him askance of more information. "It would depend on the situtation," he answered as he turned back to the board. technically still working on a decision. " And how cl--" he started to say before breaking off as he was interrupted. The auror had heard the hurried footsteps coming from behind him only to turn in response just as he was shoved away. What in Merlin's beard? The sight of the reporter was certainly not a welcome one at the moment. Or ever really, but especially as rudely as he had come into the mix of things. And what was he saying? "Asking out girlfriends?" Simon questioned as he recovered from the sudden action, a frown upon his face. "We were just talking...but then as a journalist, you wouldn't have your facts straight." No he was NOT bothering her or asking her out. Nor letting criminals escape. Period. Thank you very much. Right? |
Mariel watched Simon carefully as he spoke, trying to interpret his words. Maybe he had just generalized his statement earlier and she had misread his hesitation, though he remained cryptic, not that it would ultimately matter. And she didn't have any time to think on whether he meant what she thought or didn't because a movement soon caught her eye and she turned more fully, her eyes widening slightly as Jorge quickly approached. He did not look happy and she tried to think if she had ever seen him look quite that way before. Again, no time to really think as she gasped a little, surprised to see him suddenly shove Simon away from her. What was happening? She turned her widened eyes on him as he addressed her and she looked at him, stunned for a moment, before she was able to speak. "Of course he's not bothering me. We were just talking whilst waiting on line." Really, Simon was a gentleman, at least from what she knew of him.. he was harmless, wasn't he? Oh.. She supposed it was the sudden surprise in the turn of events but it had taken her a minute to realize that he was jealous. Really, didn't he know that he had nothing to worry about. Though the brunette did find it awfully sweet that Jorge could become so protective of her, even if it was very misplaced today. She was not about to get in the middle of their mutual dislike for one another's professions. Mariel was well aware of it from both sides and felt it futile at this point to say anything. But her green eyes found his face at his last words and she placed her hand on his arm. "No one's hitting on me," she said, shaking her head gently. Or asking her out or whatever since she apparently misread things anyway. But that saved her the trouble of letting anyone down. |
Text Cut: Jorge "Pffffft, all you have to do is buy her a latte and a croissant and boom, her lips are moving." Tori gestured to her own little pastry, which was eaten by now, and her nearly-empty coffee cup. She raised her eyebrows. "I'm going to take that as a compliment, Señor." Because she always liked to look on the brightside, unlike some "Agreed, agreed," the ginger nodded and finished off her coffee. Mmhmmm, kick it while it's down. She liked his Slytherin spirit, and her hazel eyes once again landed on that Emily character. Jorge's charm never worked on her? Was he saying she didn't LIKE attractive men? "I'll have to see what I can do," Tori murmured, more to herself than to the reporter across from her. Op, and now things were getting exciting. Excellent. Tori couldn't help the devilish smirk that appeared upon her lips, and as the scene began to unfold, she rested her wand arm on her notebook and pen. At her touch, the pen just happened to turn into a recording device pointed at Jorge, his girlfriend, and the blonde MLEr. Hum de dummmm. |
So he wasn’t bothering her, well Jorge’s eyes stayed locked on Simon, because the man wasn’t to be trusted. MLE wasn’t to be trusted. It didn’t matter what country he was in it seemed to always be the same story. "Well from where I was sitting it seemed that he was wanting a little more than just talking.” and by the surprise that had come on Mariel’s face he thought she’d agree. He still stayed in front of her with the smirk towards Simon. He knew how to push buttons and it was a game to push them. He highly enjoyed pushing them really. Was he trying to get his face knocked in? Jorge stepped a bit closer, “Oh I always have my facts straight. It’s a gift to figure things out, something that I think your department lacks.” Have they ever figured anything out really? “From where my coworker and I were it really seemed to me that you were trying to do more than just friendly talking.” Honestly he didn’t know from Simon since the man’s back was to him, but Mariel’s face he knew well. He stared at it often. He loved to stare at it, but who wouldn’t. He knew all the looks she gave and could read them well. “Plus what would Angelina think if she knew her boyfriend was out on a lunch date and hitting on another woman. Three women Simon, I’m impressed that you could even snag one let alone try for three. Don’t get ahead of yourself.” Really the man should just be glad he had one like Angelina. She was sweet and deserved better. Feeling the arm on his he glanced only a moment at Mariel before fixing his smirk and eyes back on Simon, “You beautiful are blind if you think he wasn’t. Though maybe your right he might have known you are better than him and not waste his time." Really he should know better than think he was on the same level as Mariel. |
Simon's gaze met Jorge's, steady and straight. The journalist...nah gossip writer was no better then the paper his articles were printed in and he certainly didn't like the man. Not his field of work, nor the way he treated anyone, especially women. Even as he stepped closer, the former Gryffindor stayed put not about to be manipulated or fearful of his companion. It wasn't like he was a dark wizard. And now Angelina was mentioned and Simon couldn't help but feel a slight flush of...what was it...anger...rising within him. SHE wasn't any part of this. Neither was Sophie, the other woman he was supposed to be 'dating' in all this. The auror took a deep breath as he focused on letting it go. Here was not a place to cause trouble. If only the cafe surrounding them was one of the Diagon Alley staples. "Yeah...your info is soooo correct and you don't even know that Angelina is not my girlfriend. Nor am I dating the former housemate of mine who I happened to randomly run into here on break." Really...this was what he considered getting his facts straight. And his coworker...any chance she was a woman? Pot calling the kettle black anyone? "But you'd know all about juggling three women...wouldn't you De La Garza?" he questioned rhetorically as he worked to keep his cool. "You were doing pretty good at New Years. What with Mariel, Maria and Angelina garnishing your attention. How come you're jealous of my time speaking to Mariel now when you didn't seem to care she walked out then?" Daresay most would consider him a better gentleman than the one currently saying he wasn't good enough for the department head. Not that he wanted to date her. |
Things were happening. She was aware of it. Nothing good ever came from having journo's, department heads and aurors in close proximity... though what she found more curious, was this thing Mariel seemed to have with Jorge. Merlin. No. Just no. A quick glance at her watch told her it was the end of her break, and she didn't have the patience to sit and watch the kerfuffle unfold. No, she had better things to do, better places to be - she had a job to do. And provided Bennett's break wasn't at an end, so did he. With a last fleeting smile to Cynthia, Emily gave her a watered down version of what might have been a sincere apology and took her leave from the table, approaching the small group that were making a scene. "Excuse me Mariel, if it's all the same I'll take a rain check on that coffee." Yeah, she was ignoring the confrontation, they were annoying, especially when that arrogant man was involved, eyes on you De La Garza. She was tempted to ask if he was going to buy her that lunch now, if only to stir things up. But go figure, she actually kinda liked Mariel. The red head... got a once over, Emily saw her too. "How about you all exchange words in a more private setting? Hhhmmm?" ... somewhere away from muggles, so that idiots like De La Garza wouldn't go losing their heads making loud proclamations about MLE and Aurors. Circe help her. |
Her hand still on his arm, Mariel thought over Jorge's words for a moment. Did it look like that from where he was sitting? She supposed it was possible that Simon had another motive for coming up to stand behind her in line and the idea that he was implying something had briefly crossed her mind. Her eyes flickered over to Simon quickly before looking back to Jorge. "Possibly," she shrugged. "But it wouldn't have mattered either way. Nothing was going to happen." She wasn't interested in anything other than some friendly conversation and even if he had tried to turn it into more than that, she knew how to take care of things like that. But it didn't seem like her words were doing much good. As much as she liked Jorge coming to her supposed rescue, Simon hadn't really done anything wrong, though he was set on seeing it that way. She couldn't be too upset with him though, the intent certainly was noble. Fine, he could get his say in, she wasn't going to interfere much in that if he truly felt it was necessary. Green eyes lifted to his brown eyes when he addressed her again. Maybe Simon had been leaning that way, she certainly wouldn't have been surprised, but he had to know nothing would have come of it. She was really just ready to leave at this point. "Really, Jorge, that's enough," she began lightly, feeling that he was starting to cross a line. He didn't need to be that insulting."It's fine.." And it would have been too, until Simon opened his mouth. Her eyes grew wide as she heard his words and she turned sharply to stare at him, livid that he would mention that night that she tried so hard to forget. "How dare you bring that up," she started, her tone low and dangerous. "You do not get to comment on my actions or my relationship. You don't know what went on after that and you don't know the whole story." Not that she was ever going to explain that to him, but he didn't know anything about what went on between the two of them and she was furious that he would have the nerve to go there with her standing right there. Trying to regulate her breathing, the brunette looked up as she heard another voice speaking her name. Emily.. "Oh.. of course," she said quickly, shaking her head a bit distractedly. At this point she had forgotten the coffee and to forget it until another time would be fine with her. She was ready to take Jorge and get out of here. |
Mariel was still talking and trying to change Jorge’s mind, but this.. this was a game to him now. Let’s see how annoyed we could get the big tough Auror. What a joke really, they all were and he was going to see to it that everyone knew how pathetic they were. His smirk continued to grow with Angelina’s name, “Well then you are the blind one aren’t you? The girl has eyes for you, that is obvious and as angered as you got by my presences you have the same for her. Pity because she could do so much better. Hopefully she has.” He hadn’t talked to her in sometime, maybe he’d make sure she knew some things about this one. “Honestly thought maybe you should change careers in trying to pick up women, obviously it’s going better for you than picking up criminals. When’s the last time you did that? ” His smirk that was there quickly faded as Simon said the only thing that could even remotely send his usual calm manner into a rage. If it was just him here, he would have laughed it off and continued on pushing the Auror’s buttons, but Mariel had to hear it. They were so beyond past it, but bringing up Maria and the cheating that was crossing a line. Hearing Mariel he knew she would be upset and he lifted his hand, to stop her talking and to get her arm off of his, because he was moving. Oh but joy Emily was there, possibly to save the day. He didn’t even bother with her, his eyes were still set on Simon and he possibly bumped into Emily as he continued moving right in front of Simon, “You don’t speak to either of us about our relationship. That was months ago, how pathetic needing to find a comeback and have nothing so you bring up something three months ago?” He took his hands shoving the Auror harder and with more intent this time, hopefully the table right behind him would find its way to trip him. With one more shove he glared at the man, “You ever come near my girlfriend again or bring up that night I don’t need to be in our area to mess up your face I can do it just as well right here.” He didn’t need his wand, he knew how to fight muggle style. |
With permission from Jorge's keeper It seemed the nerve he had hit had a widder impact then the one Jorge had to him. Did that mean he one-uped the man's attempts to get him to lose control? Not really as he had officially upset Mariel as well which he hadn't meant to do in any way. She was just an innocent bystander just like his friend Sophie whom he might have to leave plain and simple if things got worse. Now that hurt him as he hated to suddenly be on someone's bad side and he sighed. Even if it was his own fault for bringing it up. Taking the high road, he allowed the second shove from Jorge, keeping his feet as the auror simply listened to what was being said to him not pushing it further. Especially as his boss joined the mix. "Of course," he said simply, agreeing to Emily's suggestion to take this to private quarters. He would be quite fine with not being out in the open right now and get more attention then they likely were already getting. However as the journalist moved to push him again, Simon gave up and grabbed the man's arm. The auror then using the momentum to bring it back behind Jorge and then pushing him towards the table he had felt previously behind him. "Noted...no hanger for me," he mused, glancing at Emily and hoping he wasn't going to regret this. She had seen the other man was the cause of all the trouble...right? "And in my defense...I'm acting in protection of myself and others and back off my break. And you just assaulted a member of law enforcement." The last added as he cleaned closer, grabbing for the other arm hopefully made easier by the surprise of his actions. Be it magical or muggle, both were frowned upon and subject to some type of punishment. "Perhaps we should be adjourning somewhere after all." |
ahem you lot Tori's eyes had just widened and widened at this mess going down. Her mouth had started to fall open too, as Jorge showed that spitfire Spaniards were known for. But what could she say... she was LOVING this drama! Right up until the point that her coworker was arrested, that is. Tori stood up abruptly from her table, not sure what she was going do but knowing that she needed to do something now. She grabbed her bag, pen and notebook, and bustled over to the table, tucking the "Excuse me," the redhead piped up in a most posh accent, inserting herself right into the thick of it beside the blonde auror currently manhandling Jorge. "But if you are going to arrest my client, then I insist on coming with you to make sure everything is being played strictly by the book." She gave Jorge a clear SHUT UP expression and a rather librarian-look to the Auror. |
Mariel was still pretty ticked off by what Simon said and was sure Jorge wouldn't be thrilled either, though she wasn't sure she expected quite the reaction he had. This was the angriest she had ever seen him and sure, she figured on some words being said given the mood, though she hadn't quite foreseen the action. Her eyes widened as she watched him shove Simon hard against the table, again too surprised to move for a split second. This was escalating far too quickly. Oh no, she did not want anyone's face messed up, least of all her Jorge's. Putting her hand on his arm a little more purposefully this time, hoping to bring his attention away from the Auror, she said, "Jorge, let's just go." She was more than ready to get out of this place and away from this mess before it got any worse. And then it did. "What are you--" she started on Simon, staring at him in disbelief as he grabbed Jorge's arm and pulled it back behind him, stopping as she heard his words. Defense of himself and others.. please. No one was really going to get hurt here. Well, she supposed there was the potential with the whole messing up faces thing, but was this really necessary? He was just blowing off some steam and they were on their way out, she was about to see to that. Before she could say anything else, she arched an eyebrow as the little redhead Jorge was babysitting made her way over. Client..? And now she was going to play make-believe like she was his attorney or something, whatever. She seemed to be on his side, so the brunette said nothing, just narrowed her eyes at her a moment before turning back to Simon again. "Surely you're not arresting him?" Mariel began, in a slightly outraged tone. She was already annoyed and this certainly wasn't making it any better. He could not be serious. "You aren't seriously calling that an assault.. you weren't actually hurt by that?" Please. It wasn't as if they actually had gotten into a physical fight, then she could almost see the validity. This was just ridiculous. |
................................. This, was why she didn't like people. This was why she didn't like spending time with people. Drama was overrated, and what was all this about boyfriends? girlfriends? relationships? drama? he said, she said? WHAT?! ................................... And then there was the pushing. Emily barely bat an eyelash as Jorge moved past her, bumping her in the shoulder in the process. She could see why he did it, but it didn't excuse him for being a slimeball of a journo. "His rights, Bennett," she prompted - at least the watered down Statute friendly version. If he was going to go all gung-ho and press charges on the matter he was going to do it BY THE BOOKS!....... Or had her time at the helm not taught him anything? BY THE BOOK! Especially when reporters were involved, the only alternative option would be to off them... the world would be a better place without them. "Lets calm down and discuss this elsewhere... come to some form of resolution, no?" She spared Mariel a look. He did assault Bennett. Besides, they had a lonely holding cell which would love some company. Poor rats in there were likely on the verge of tears from lack of affection and company. And oh? Emily gave the redhead ANOTHER once over, a more critical one this time. "I'll need to see your credentials and you'll have to undergo a brief security screening..." but otherwise, sure. It was a shame disarming De La Garza publically wasn't an option. It'd have to wait. |
In one moment he was shoving and threatening in the next his arm was behind him and Jorge wasn’t going down without a struggle. He moved and twisted, “Let go of me.” Smirk back on his face, “Go figure MLE can’t find the real criminals so they have to taunt and push until someone snaps on them so they can pretend to be big and bad. “ MLE what a joke. As he was being pushed into the table he chuckled, “Is that really all the force you have?” Did Emily employee the weakest? Maybe that’s how De Talone got away, she paid them to have the weakest security. His other arm behind his back he laughed more, “Assaulted you call that assaulted. Oh if I knew this was going to happen I would have made sure an assault was in order.” He wiggled more taking an elbow back towards Simon. If he was getting arrested he surely was going to have great reasons. Glancing at Tori his grin widen, she was seriously a journalist on her toes. It was brilliant really and he just nodded playing along. He wasn’t sure how to explain it to Mariel, but he wasn’t going to say no either. Get her there, she saw how Simon pushed him, innocent Journalist pushed to a breaking point by arrogant Auror. It had the best headline written all over it. His smirk faded hearing Mariel, this was his weaker point and he knew it, but the smirk was only gone for a moment, “Beautiful don’t even worry about it. I’ll be fine.” He might need some bail later though, but who knew what these yoyo’s had in store for him. Brown eyes now to Emily, he knew she would be all about this. He looked her over, “My rights.” What a joke this was, go on with it Bennett. He rolled his eyes still every so often giving a jerk or an elbow backwards. If the muggles were going to see Midas well give them some fun. “You couldn’t wait to get me in a cell all to yourself couldn’t you Emily.” Sarcasm full in his voice. Glancing at Tori again as she was asked to show credentials, he wasn’t worried at all, she was smart she’d have something. |
His attention on Jorge, Simon was still aware of the others. From Mariel, who was clearly surprised by what he was doing. To Emily, his boss, who seemed to be going along with his actions...for now. And finally the redheaded young woman who had suddenly joined the group and claimed to be the journalist's lawyer. Yeah right, that was too much of a coincidence to be at least totally truthful. "Yeah I am and my being hurt doesn't matter. Would you prefer him being in greater trouble for other items." As in the possible statute violalations Jorge had been likely heading towards if he let his raised anger cloud his choice of words. He simply nodded as Emily spoke up about Jorge's rights. "Yes, I was getting to that." This was probably not one of his better ideas, but he was at least going to do it right and not risk anymore trouble in the matter. Especially since the third woman was either really a lawyer or someone trying to cause more hot water for Simon and willing to go to great lengths for that. Hmm...interesting Simon couldn't help looking back at Jorge. Was he cheating himself and tried turning the ball on someone else instead? That thought would have to wait. "You have the right to remain silent...which I advise you to use," he stated as he started rattling of the various statements he had to by law, leaving out or modifying any words that weren't proper in the muggle environment. By the book of course. Thankfully the lawyer was being handled by Emily so he could simply deal with the agressive Spaniard. The one still trying to shoot his mouth off and bug everyone around him. No he would not be letting go and Simon countered every move made with Jorge keeping the struggle in balance. "You wouldn't be able to speak if I used my full force," the auror remarked so only his captive could hear him. Taking the hint from his fellow law enforcer, Simon finally got a better grip on the agressive man and moved him out of the shop. His gaze passing around to calculate his next move, finding a location out of sight to portkey out of to the department. Portkey! They really needed to get back to the ministry. He couldn't help shoving Jorge slightly for the remark he made to Emily about being alone in a cell with him. "Petrificulus Totalus," he cast quietly on the journalist once they were out of sight, ready to catch the man. A dead-weight was better than a struggling charge. |
You know, up close and personal, the little blonde Auror guy was kinda cute But Tori would have to refrain from flirting with him, because he was the enemy right now. He was arresting her good coworker for no reason! POLICE BRUTALITY IN ACTION HERE! Tori had to turn her attention, albeit reluctantly, cuz all this arresting stuff was hot, over to the brunette woman. Harsh, wasn't she? "Of course, I'll be happy to cooperate once procedures have been followed and we are on secure premises." Tori gave her a prim look and turned on her heel then. Simon was taking Jorge out now? Oh this was good. She was SO coming with, and jogged after them a little bit to keep up. |
This was just pathetic. Mariel gave Simon a disgusted look as he confirmed that he was indeed arresting Jorge. And yes, technically him putting his hands on the other man was considered assault if he went so far as to charge him, she knew that logically, but come on. Jorge hadn't actually hit him and Simon could have just asked him to leave. Mariel had been more than willing to take him out of there. She thought Simon was being kind of lame to be honest. And honestly, she heard what he said, basically provoking Jorge to attack him. Borderline entrapment, really. Now what was he on about with greater trouble? "Other items? What on earth are you talking about?" She shot the man an exasperated look. He had hardly done anything as it was, Simon was just being petty as far as she was concerned. And no, her preference would be for them to leave, not him being manhandled then hauled off on trumped up charges. She frowned a bit as she looked at Jorge, hearing his words. Of course she was going to worry, she didn't know what exactly was going to happen to him and certainly didn't like the way he was being treated thus far. But she knew he was more than capable of holding his own. "I know, you will be" she told him quietly, nodding a bit to reassure herself as well, before letting out an annoyed sigh as rights were being read. "I'll be there as soon as I can," she said, putting her hand on his arm and looking up at him before Simon pulled him away. "Give me a minute to get a few things squared away at work, then I'll get this all straightened out." Her lunch break had come to an end and she did have responsibilities being in charge of her department. She had to at least check in and make sure things were taken care of because Merlin knew how long it would take to get this mess resolved. Mariel couldn't fight the look she gave him at the comment he shot at Emily, though she knew he was just lashing out given the situation, not that she found it necessary. But it wasn't something she was about to dwell on. She gave Simon a glare as he passed, taking Jorge out and she watched the "attorney" flounce her way out the door before turning to Emily. Mariel was 150% done talking to Simon now and would much prefer speaking rationally to his employer anyway. "Where is he taking him now?" she asked, turning her questioning eyes to the MLE Head. She figured they were going to the Underground headquarters but really had no clue where she would be meant to go after that. "And what do I need to do to resolve this?" An honest question. She really didn't have much experience bailing out boyfriends from jail. |

At any rate, she was not used to being pitied, nor did she enjoy it. Her spine stiffened more, if that was possible. "Right, then," she said. Now that Mariel was talking to Simon, the conversation had come to an abrupt halt. Emily didn't say much. Indeed, she was more like Cynthia, socially. And two socially inept individuals equals, well, not much to say. But she'd try. "Did you like your food?" Quote:
If she were to have a boyfriend, he would not be one who would need to be bailed from jail. She was not clear on why Jorge needed bailing, but that was Mariel's problem. The Head and her boyfriend must have their reasons, and because Cynthia hadn't totally been listening, she didn't know. She kept quiet and listened in. |
“Don’t you talk to her in that tone of voice.” He growled more than spoke towards Simon still moving his arms around. He started ranting in Spanish quickly and incoherently to most around him. Simon didn’t have to talk to Mariel nor Tori was such attitude. He was cocky wasn’t he? Mr. big and bad Auror when it didn’t matter. “Don’t worry ladies he’s just trying to impress you by arresting someone show that MLE can arrest them since they always seem to let the real ones go. “ He glanced up at Mariel and rolled his eyes as he heard Simon reading his rights. His elbow tossing stopped as Mariel placed a hand on his arm. He gave her one of the best smirks he could pull at the moment, “Take your time, Simon can’t wait to do some male bounding can’t you Simon?” He was going to reassure her as much as he could. Oh was Simon whispering sweet nothings in his ear? “What was that? You want to use full force but boss is around. Did you hear that Miss Bunbury? My lawyer might like to know these things. Thought I’d like to see you try.” He gritted his teeth in the last part, “Tough words for someone that has a guys hands behind his back. Maybe you should try to play fair and see how well you do.” He was going to keep shooting off his mouth and not making it easy for Simon. Once the Auror started forcing him out of the café Jorge walked with an aggressive stride out the door giving a final glance to his girlfriend. “You think you are so bad ..” but in an instant he wasn’t moving at all. His body bind together and he was falling backwards towards Bennett. Words were flying through his head even if he couldn’t say them. This was ridiculous.. uncalled for.. it couldn’t be procedure. Tori saw this right, she was getting all of this down? He was stuck not moving and being held by the Auror. HE WAS FURIOUS! |
