At least he remembered most of it. "I'm glad you remember." Sigh. "I never asked anyone to do something I wouldn't do myself. Especially the more dangerous missions." She might not have led those because she wanted them to be able to take the reigns sometimes, but she was right there with them and kicking butt too.

Her eyes closed as he agreed with her, but she grimaced. "Yeah, it's almost like I never worked here... no one seems to remember me, and the guy who is running A&C said, and I quote, 'Taking a tour of Magical Law Enforcement and making a quick stop in Mysteries doesn't and won't qualify you for the positions you're looking for'. When did I ever just take a tour and make a quick stop??" she asked, looking at Gid. "I worked hard and fought through like I've had to do all my life." Why were people so judgemental and rude? "Well, you come from a different century, so it's understandable." Heh. "You must just be getting old."

"Exactly" he said softly. "I'd rather not put my team into danger if I can help it. I know they're well trained for it. I'd just rather not risk it unless absolutely necessary." He agreed fully though, he wouldn't send them into something he wouldn't go into himself. Losing the minister that one time had been one of the hardest in his time as an auror and he knew that was still on Becca's mind too looking back.

He blinked at her when she said what her head had said to her. "Now...that's actually quite rude." he said frowning. "You ran your division back in MLE here, but were never recognized for it. Division head without the title." Well that's what she'd told him, he'd never even been around at the time. "That's not right and he shouldn't have said that." He snorted at her next comment "Well, that's true but...yeah I am just old...but still."

"Good." Becca looked at him and sighed softly. "But remember you have a family to come home to as well." They weren't the ONLY ones with family. He actually had to come back to her and the kids. They were happier with him around

"That's how it went for a while, but then I got the title after." Yeah, that had been fun. Running five divisions at once. "I just couldn't actually say how nasty that had been. He really doesn't seem to care." Her eyes closed and she sighed deeply. "You're old. Just accept it." she snorted.

He nodded but sighed softly too "That's the one fear I always have between us. The job is awesome and we enjoy it...but that danger." He swallowed but took a breath "I will always do everything I can to come back home to you."

He nodded at that "It's sad honestly that it takes burning yourself out to in the end be recognized." He just wished it didn't take that with everyone. A person should be recognized before it got to that point. He shook his head "I hope that changes and soon." He snickered a little at that though.

"You WILL come home." Becca told him quietly. "That isn't an option." She knew he'd had that fear with her being the department head back in Italy.

"Yeah, but it happens. Unfortunately." Becca sighed deeply. "I can only hope..." Meh.

"I know love" he said quietly back. "It isn't an option in any way to me either." He would do anything to make sure he came home every single night to her and the kids.

"It does. Fair or not" he shook his head. He couldn't control what was done in other departments, he could only encourage her.

"Good. If you die, I'll kill you." she told him, her eyes on his face. Yeah, she was really that mean.

Becca sighed when Gid spoke. She hoped that he would maybe say something to Maddox off his own back, but she wasn't going to ask him to. She hoped he would just come to her one day and say he'd fixed the issue.

He wanted to laugh but knew she was serious. It was something they'd always said thought it was really not even something that could be done. "I won't die." Or he'd try his hardest not too!

He didn't know the best way to go about helping. He wanted to step in but then didn't want to overstep too...

"Good. I'm serious." Becca eyed her husband, but leant back against the sofa after a moment. "I suppose I'd better let you get back to it." Bleh. She'd go back to the boring stuff.

"I know you are" he said gently. "Can we meet for lunch?" he asked, now that they were both working mostly the same hours, it wouldn't be a bad idea, right?

"Sure." Becca replied softly. "You're buying." Fingers crossed he'd actually turn up on time. "Where are we going?" She was going to get as much of her work done as soon as possible so she could get home as early as possible and see the kids. She just wanted to relax and not think about the horrible situation that she was in.

He laughed softly and nodded "Of course I am." he said with a shrug. "Wherever you'd like. Somewhere nice even if you'd prefer." He smiled softly at her, "Either way, I'm glad you and I are both back here now. Even in spite of the difficulties and department switches. I'm glad you're here."

"I don't mind. You pick." she shrugged, looking at him. He could decide and Becca would be more than happy. "I'm..." Well, she wasn't glad. "I'm just... well. We're working together again, I suppose." Sigh.

"How about the cafe in Muggle London?" he asked, "The one that's not too far from here?" Easy enough, then they don't need to talk about work either! "We are" he said softly.

"Okay." Becca replied softly. That was... not a nice place, but it was perfectly acceptable to her. "We'll just go for lunch and then you can cook tonight." Yeah, he could do that while she sat on the sofa and wallowed in her own misery.

He nodded "It's something we can not worry too much about having screaming kids, or hopefully not anyway." He smiled softly and nodded "I'd like that. Anything particular for tonight?"

If there were any screaming kids in that place, Becca might just throw a fork and hope it hit the target. Then they'd have a reason to be screaming. Fortunately, their four children only got loud when something was wrong. "Okay" That would be nice. "Nothing in particular, why? Did you think of anything?"

He shrugged "I haven't yet but I'll think on it and surprise you I think." That sounded like fun. "Just a quiet night, just the three of us." It was so hard knowing the other 3 were at Hogwarts now...

"Okay." she smiled gently. "Yeah, poor Emma will have to deal with us being all smoochy and lovey." She felt for the kid, but Becca would rather love him too much than not show it at all.

He laughed softly and nodded "At least she's not as bad as Torie and Jay had been, running from the room nearly screaming and covering their eyes." HAH, it had been amusing.

"Well, she's not a typical boy who gets disgusted at people being lovey." She shrugged. "I think Emma quite enjoys seeing us together sometimes."

He laughed at that and nodded "She's quite a bit like you." he said with love in his voice "I do too. I think she looks forward to that in her future too."

"I know." she sighed. "Poor child." Hopefully she didn't get all the bad luck Becca had had too. "She'll be gorgeous and I hope she'll be strong enough to know what she wants." If not, she'd have to help her to become that way.

He laughed and nodded "Well I'm proud of the both of you, and she has someone to look up to." He knew his daughter was headstrong too and had just the hint of red in her hair but merlin, she could get her way when she really wanted it! "I'm sure she will, if she's anything like you. She'll fight for it."

"Hopefully she won't have to fight as hard as I did." Becca sighed deeply. "Either way, I'm gonna leave you to your fancy office. We'll talk at lunch." Becca shrugged and moved to get up.
